An apparatus for transporting a sheet of a flexible material between a first and a second position. The apparatus includes an elongated frame and an air-pervious endless belt movably mounted on first and second pulleys positioned at each end of the frame. The belt has its upper rung travelling from the first pulley, adjacent the first position, to the second pulley, adjacent the second position, and is arranged to receive a lead strip of the sheet from the first position. A vacuum chest having a perforated top extends longitudinally of and below the upper rung of the belt. There are means for evacuating air from the chest in order to apply a vacuum at the undersurface of the belt and thereby cause the lead strip to cling to the belt. The apparatus has means defining an opening where the sheet leaves the belt and an air jet means able to direct air through the opening. (54) DEVICE FOR SUBMITTING THE PAPER FILLING STRIP The invention relates to the equipment used in the pulp and paper industry for charging paper in a calender. Devices for charging a strip of paper are known, comprising a belt-fed conveyor with a permeable belt, under one of the branches of which there is an extraction box, and an air drop for supplying compressed air to the filling strip. When filling thin and light paper grades at high speeds, a strip of paper is twisted around the second roller as the strip moves. The purpose of the invention is to improve the reliability of the device. This is achieved by the fact that the air shower is made in the form of a camera mounted behind the second roller along the conveyor belt movement, the chamber wall adjacent X to this roller, at least part of its height, is made concave and has openings with axes inclined to the surface of the roller. Tubes can be installed on the inner side of the chamber in the holes of the concave wall. The device can be equipped with an additional air drop installed behind the camera along the movement of the filling strip, which can be made rotatable along its longitudinal axis. The device contains a belt conveyor, made in the form of an endless permeable belt 1, taut on the front and rear 2 rollers. Under the upper branch of the belt 1, an aspirator 3 is installed, and the air drop is made in the form of a camera 4 mounted behind the roller 2. When feeding light and thin paper grades, air flows occur, which wind the strip of paper 5 around the roller 2. Eliminating this effect allows the camera-4, mounted behind the roller 2 so that its wall 6 is concave, partially around the roller 2. The wall 6 has holes 7, the axes of which are inclined to the surface of the roller 2. These holes can be made In the wall 6 so that they can be struck from the inside of the chamber tube inserted, if the wall thickness; insufficient large. If the wall 6 is thick, then the inclined holes should be made directly in it so that the streams of air coming from the chamber 4 should have a non-directional direction. When this camera is working obliquely to the surface of the roller 2, the incoming air jets prevent the strip 5 from twisting around the roller 2. The device can be equipped with an additional air drop 8 installed behind the camera 4 in the direction of movement of the filling strip 5, and the drop can be made turning its longitudinal axis . By turning the shower 8, it is possible to influence the trajectory of the strip 5. The use of the device allows reliable and fast filling of the strip into the calender of paper-making machines.

Claims (4) [1] 1. Devices for feeding a filling strip of paper, for example, to a calender of a papermaking machine, containing a drive belt with permeable belt, under one of the branches of which a suction box is installed, and an air drop for supplying compressed air to the charging strip, different in that, in order to increase the reliability of the device, the air shower is made in the form of a camera mounted behind the second roller along the conveyor belt, and the wall of the chamber adjacent to this roller is at least EPE on part of its height is concave and has the apertures whose axes are inclined to the surface of the roller.
