On the ram head (5) there is arranged a sensor (6), which is connected to the latching lock (3) and releases the latching lock (3) on operation by means of the insulation-piercing contact (7) or a component (8) surrounding the said contact (7). <IMAGE>

    Claim 1. A tool for connecting cable cores, in particular a communication cable to cutting clamp contacts, comprising a housing, a pusher with a head moved along the body, a cutting cutter located on the pusher head, and a stopper mechanism limiting the longitudinal movement of the pusher with a cutter relative to housing, characterized in that, in order to increase the reliability of the contact attachment, a probe is mounted on the head of the pusher, and the locking mechanism is located on the pusher and connected to the probe
