A filter assembly for use with a cigarette includes a porous filter element with a longitudinally extending hollow tube extending from each end thereof, the filter element being circumscribed by a non-porous wrapping material. The filter assembly further includes a chamber axially aligned with the porous filter element and disposed between the filter element and a tobacco column. The chamber is provided with means to direct ventilating air into the hollow tube and means to direct smoke from the tobacco column into the filter element without mixing with the ventilating air. When in use, the smoke and ventilating air exit in separate streams, the smoke exiting in streams which surround the ventilating air exiting the filter through the hollow tube.

This invention relates to the field of cigarette filters.
The aim of the invention is to improve the taste sensations when the smoke and ventilating air flows separately during the smoking process.
Figure 1 shows the filter, axonometrics; figure 2 - section aa in figure 1; Fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the filter, axonometrics; Fig.4 is a section BB in Fig.Z; 5 is the same as modification; 6 is a modification of the filter tip, axonometrics.
The cigarette filter contains a cylindrical porous filter element 1 made of cellulose acetate or any other fibrous or foam-like materials. The filter element 1 is enclosed in a non-porous shell 2. By non-porous, it is meant that there are no pores on the external surfaces of the foam material and it is integral with the filter element. In the filtering element along its axis from the oral end to the opposite coaxial floor is placed a tube 3, which is usually made of thin-walled plastic, forming a channel for ventilating air. Between element 1 and tobacco rod 4 has; chamber 5 enclosed in a porous shell 6 and bounded on both sides by disks 7 having coaxial holes and perpendicularly located one at the end of the tobacco rod 4 and the other at the end of the filter element 1. At that the chamber 5 is provided with hollow tubes 8 longitudinally mounted therein from one end to the other and fixed in the holes of the disks 7 around the tube 3 for ventilating air, which is also mounted in the hole of the disk 7. The porous shell 6 has many through holes TIFA 9 for passage into the chamber 5 of ventilating air.
Filter element 1 and camera. 5 are covered with a porous material 10 and a strip I 1 serving to connect the filter with the tobacco rod 4 and having a plurality of through holes 1 2.
in the course of smoking, the smoke first passes through the tubes 8 into the filter element 1. The ventilating air enters the chamber 5 through the vent holes 12 and 9, and then moves from the chamber 5 to the tube 3.
The filter further comprises a portion 13 located coaxially between the chamber 5 and the tobacco rod 4
and representing a porous filtering element enclosed in the casing 14. The filtering element and the casing 14 are made of the same materials as the element 1 and the non-porous casing 2, respectively. However, the construction materials may be different, and the shell 14 may be porous and non-porous. In the process of smoking, smoke passes through part 13
and thus subjected to pre-filtering before entering the chamber 5 and the filter element 1.

replaced by a hollow tube 15 having a venturi-type tube structure at its outlet end 16. This structure increases the speed of the ventilated air as it exits the filter device and more effectively mixes it with the smoke. Figure 6 shows a filter in which the floor of the tube 3 at the labial end is closed transversely
located disk 17, with many holes 18. Holes 18 are designed for removal of air-. ha many individual streams and. serve to increase the velocity of the air escaping from the filtering device and to mix it more efficiently with the outgoing smoke.

A CIGARETTE FILTER containing a porous filter element of a cylindrical shape with a channel for ventilating air, enclosed in a non-porous shell, characterized in that, in order to improve taste sensations when the smoke and ventilating air flows separately during smoking, the ventilating air channel is formed by a hollow tube placed coaxially in the filter element along its axis from the oral end of the filter element to its opposite end, between the filter element and the tobacco rod a chamber is enclosed in a porous shell and bounded on two sides by disks having coaxial holes and perpendicular to one at the end of the tobacco rod and the other at the end of the filter element, the chamber being provided with hollow tubes longitudinally mounted from one end to the other and fixed in the holes of the discs around the channel for ventilating air.
