In parallel with the conveyor 1, a conveyor 4 is installed for receiving fish heads, having retaining elements 5 mounted to move them relative to the conveyor 4 Between conveyors 1 and 4, cutting elements 6, made in the form of disks of knives, are installed at an angle to one another. In the plane of the cutting elements, guiding strips 7 and 8 are arranged in front of them, mounted with the possibility of oncoming movement under the action of fish passing between them. The device is provided with an additional guide bar 9, a spring-loaded spring 10. The bar 9 is rotatably mounted on the pivot arm 11 in the area of the cutting elements 6 for controlling the holding members 5 and is adjacent to the outer guide bar 8. Each retaining element 5 can be made in the form of a pin 12 for impaling fish in the area of the eye sockets, fixed on the lever 13, hinged on the conveyor 4. Each retaining element 5 consists of a grip, the shoulders 14 and 15 of which are made of spring material and have elements 16 and 17 for holding the fish’s head by its eye sockets, and are fixed on the lever 13 pivotally mounted on the transport 4. The device is fitted above the conveyor 1 in front of the zone of the cutting elements 5 with a device 18 for straightening the fins located in the plane of the guide bars 7 and 8.
