Apparatus for braking a rotating member which has a fluid pressure responsive brake to which pressurized fluid is supplied for braking the rotating member, an anti-locking device interposed between the brake and the source of supply of fluid pressure for cyclically decreasing and increasing the fluid pressure supplied to the brake, and a control interposed between the brake and the fluid pressure source for limiting the rate of rise of fluid pressure supplied to the brake. Limitation of the rate of rise of fluid pressure applied to the brake governs reapplication of braking forces by the brake and thereby aids in optimizing brake performance.

This invention relates to hydraulic brake systems equipped with anti-lock devices.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of braking.
The drawing shows a hydraulic device for braking the wheels of a motor vehicle.
The device comprises a wheel brake cylinder 1 of a wheel 2 connected to the main brake cylinder 3 by a pipe 4. A sensor 5 is connected to the wheel 2 and controls the pressure modulator 6. In the housing 7 of the modulator 6, the bore 8 is installed, the winding 9 is spring-loaded 50 shut-off valve 11, controlled by the rod core 8 preloaded by the saw arm 12. On the other side of the core 8 there is a locking element 13 with a spring 14 connected with stem bore 8. A spring 15 and a pump piston 16 are built into the modulator 6. When braking, the pressure from the master brake cylinder 3 through the open valve 11 of the modulator 6, the channels 24 and the pipeline 4 is fed into the brake cylinder 1.
When blocking conditions occur, sensor 5 delivers a signal through which current is applied to winding 9 and to piston actuator 16. Valve II closes and shut-off element 13 blocks communication between modulator 6 and non-return valve 17,
The piston 16, periodically creating a discharge, pumps fluid from cylinder 1 to cylinder 3.
The valve 17 serves to limit the filling rate of the cylinder 1. The locking element 21, compressing the spring 23, is pressed against the saddle 20 and the liquid passes to the cylinder I only through the throttle hole 22.

A HYDRAULIC DEVICE FOR BRAKING VEHICLES OF A VEHICLE, containing an anti-blocking pressure modulator installed in the line between the main brake cylinder and the wheel brake cylinder, consisting of a shut-off solenoid valve, a piston pump built into the line between the solenoid valve and the wheel brake cylinder, and a poppet check valve having a central throttle bore pressed by a spring to a seat located on the side of the solenoid valve, while in e forming the said seat, the bypass channel is formed, characterized in that, in order to increase the reliability of braking, the piston pump is mounted between the solenoid valve and check valve, which is arranged to the second valve seat, '§ disposed side of the wheel brake cylinder.
