Apparatus for cutting and guiding the marginal or lead-in strip formed in a paper web and used in connection with a lead-in operation thereof includes first and second guide plates extending at an angle relative to each other and with which are associated nozzle tubes in which nozzle apertures or the like are formed for directing air jets parallel to the first and second guide plates. The first guide plate is oriented so as to correspond to the direction in which the end of the paper web is to be conducted onwardly after severance of at least the forward portion of the lead-in strip. The second guide plate is oriented in a direction which corresponds to that in which the marginal or lead-strip is conducted into a pulper or the like. Air jets are directed from the nozzle apertures over the respective guide plates so that the latter act as guiding and air transport surfaces so that the marginal lead-in strip is pulled in different directions in the area of the guide plates until it is severed. The new end of the web or marginal lead-in strip is conducted onward under the guidance of the first guide plate. A guide plate element is preferably provided forming a continuation of the first guide plate in order to guide the new end of the web or marginal strip onwards to subsequent guiding apparatus.

The invention relates to devices for and guiding an edge strip separated from a paper web in a paper machine, in which web filling is carried out by separating. From the edge of a full-sized, wide web (about 150,500 mm), the strip is directed forward with compressed air jets. Such areas are provided, for example, in the web transfer sections from the last drying drum to the machine calender or from the lower roll of the calender to the device for winding paper into a roll. The aim of the invention is to simplify the DESIGN. Figure 1 shows the proposed device, side view; Fig.2 ejector pipes. An apparatus for cutting and guiding the edge strip in a paper machine primarily during a backup operation, located above the Defibr and containing ejector tubes 1 and 2 connected to a compressed air source with nozzle holes or slot nozzles 3 and 4 For directing air jets and two guide plates 5 and 6 in order to direct the stretching of these plates to different sides in their zone and to distribute the edge strip by breaking it in the point between the guide plates or on the nozzle openings to form the ends and directing one of them to the grinder, the first guide plate 6, oriented towards the latter, and the other along the guide plate 5. The nozzle holes or slit nozzles of each ejector tube are made in the plane of the corresponding guide plate for parallel direction along it air jets F ,, FJ, and the planes of the guide plates are located at right angles to one another. In the continuation of the second guide plate 5, a guide plate plate 7 is installed for guiding the corresponding end of the edge strip and provided with a nozzle hole 8 for exit of air jets transporting and guiding the edge strip after the guide plates. The device also contains a drying drum 9, adjacent to the periphery of which is provided a knife device 10 with a scraper 11 and a blower 1 2. The device operates as follows. The edge strip R from the last dryer drum 9 is directed to the ejector pipes 1 and 2. The ejector pipes 1 and 2 of the guide plate with air jets F and F, acting in opposite directions, are connected to a source of compressed air. By means of the blower 12, the edge strip converging from the quench drum 9 approaches the angle of the guide plate element 7. As soon as the edge strip R comes close enough to the guide plates 5 and 6, the pressure below the atmospheric pressure created between the edge strip R and the guides p.-gastinas, presses the edge strip R to the sides of the ejector tubes 2 and 3 and to the guide plates 5 and 6.

1. CUTTING DEVICE
AND DIRECTIONS OF THE EDGE STRIP SEPARABLE FROM THE PAPER CANVAS IN THE PAPER MACHINE, mainly during refueling, located above the defibrer and containing ejector pipes connected with a compressed air source with nozzle openings or slotted nozzles for directing air jets in two directions for directing air jets in their area of these plates and the separation of the edge strip by tearing it at a point between the guide plates or on the nozzle holes with the formation of ends and pressure aligning one of them into the defibrer with a first guide plate oriented toward the latter and the other along the other guide plate, characterized in that, in order to simplify the design, the nozzle holes or slot nozzles of each ejector pipe are made in a plane parallel to the plane § corresponding to them a guide plate for parallel direction of air jets along it, and the plane of the guide plates are at right angles to one another.
