The tappet assembly includes a roller engageable with a cam lobe of a cam to impart inward movement to the plunger. Outward movement of the plunger is effected by a lever assembly having a forked end engaging the head and a roller for engagement with a cam lobe.

The invention relates to mechanical engineering, in particular to engine building, and can be used in plunger type fuel pumps with reciprocating plunger movement for an internal combustion engine.
The purpose of the invention is to increase reliability.

The pump includes a housing 1 with an opening 2 to the crankcase 3. In the opening 2, a plunger 4 and a pusher 5 with a roller 6 are slidably disposed. In the crankcase 3 there is a cam shaft 7 with a cam 8, a profile. which has symmetrical projections coupled with roller 6 for moving the pusher 5 with the plunger in the direction of fuel displacement. On top of the housing 1, there is an adjoining pump head 9, in which an opening 10 is made, with which the plunger 4 with its upper part forms the discharge cavity 11 and the fuel supply unit 12 into the discharge channel 13. The discharge channel 13 can be connected either to the nozzle of the engine cylinder or to a fuel distributor, which is intended to distribute the fuel according to the engine injector p-dz (not shown). The lower part of the plunger has an annular groove 14 and a head 15 which is in contact with the pusher 5, which ensures the transfer of movement from the pusher 5 to the plunger 4 under the action of a cam lug and provides fuel through the fuel delivery unit 12 to the discharge channel 13. The pump also has a movement mechanism the pusher 5 and the plunger 4 in the opposite direction, made in the form of a two-armed lever 16, fastened248534 .2

1. FUEL PUMP OF A PLUNGER TYPE with reciprocating movement of a plunger for an internal combustion engine, comprising a housing with a hole, a plunger and a pusher with a roller slidable in the housing opening, a cam shaft with a cam coupled to the pusher roller to move the pusher with the plunger in the side of the fuel displacement, and the mechanism for moving the pusher and plunger in the opposite direction, made in the form of a two-shouldered lever, pivotally mounted in the housing with the possibility of rotation in a plane cam and pusher, and the end of one arm of the lever is made in the form of a fork mated with a plunger, and the other arm of the lever is mated to the cam via a return roller, characterized in that, in order to increase reliability, the mechanism for moving the pusher and plunger in the opposite direction the side is additionally equipped with an intermediate element mounted in the housing with the possibility of movement relative to it, and the return roller is placed on the intermediate element and with the help of the latter the other shoulder of the two shoulders is mated of the lever with a cam.

The pump according to claim 1, characterized in that the intermediate element is made in the form of an additional pusher placed in the housing with the possibility of reciprocating movement, with a return roller placed at one end of the additional pusher, and the other end mating with the other shoulder of the two shoulders lever .
