A packed counter-current column in which the gas and the liquid is contacted in a column packed with layers of reproducible elements of regular polygonal section, each of which has a lower part shaped to form a nozzle by overlapping of two opposite walls of the element, which walls also form slits between themselves and the other walls, and an upper part including an arcuate or angular bend which narrows the upper part of the element. The layers may be spaced apart by from 0 to 3 times the height of a layer and superimposed or rotated in a horizontal plane relative to each other by an optional angle. The invention relates to a nozzle design for contacting gas and liquid, and can be used in heat and mass transfer processes, especially in distillation, rectification, extraction, absorption, desorption, drying and moistening of gases or dedusting. The aim of the invention is to intensify the process by increasing the contact time of the phases and increasing the rotation of the gas and liquid flow. Figure 1 shows the nozzle, a longitudinal section; figure 2 - the same cross section. The nozzle contains cells 1, formed by separate walls 2, the lower ends 3 of which are bent towards one another and installed overlapping to form a nozzle 4. The upper part of one of the walls has a radial bend 5. The nozzle works as follows. The gas enters from the bottom through a nozzle, which causes an increase in its speed. The liquid is directed from above upstream to the gas. Outgoing From the nozzle, the gas flow carries the draining liquid away and, returning a part of it, enters the direct vortex flow. The further formation of a physical vortex occurs due to the bending of the wall in the upper part, and in this place there occurs the carry-off of the rotated liquid from above by a flow. The protruding continuous flow vortex flow of liquid and gas inside the element increases the contact time of the phases and enhances the intensity of the material and heat exchange and, in addition, eliminates the possibility of the formation of dead spaces, which prevents the deposition of contaminants in the nozzle. Claims (2) [1] 1.
