The invention relates to a duplicating technique, in particular to copiers for thermal development. A device is known for the thermal development of the recording medium, comprising a rotating roller for transporting the recording medium to the development zone and a heated housing C1 adapted to the curvature of the surface of the roller. A disadvantage of the known device is the formation of congestion in the passage of the recording medium due to (softening of the recording layer ^ · of the recording medium, which leads to the termination of the device, i.e., to forced downtime. The aim of the invention is to increase the reliability of the device. To achieve this goal, a device for the thermal development of the recording medium, comprising a rotatable roller for transporting the recording medium to the developing zone and a heated housing adapted to the curvature of the surface of the roller, has a direct heating housing in front of the heated housing, covering part of the cylindrical surface of the roller, and the heating housing forms a roller wedge-shaped inlet.
