The object of the invention is to achieve a reduced cost, great lightness and possibility of mass-production of the coupling while of course retaining the qualities of a very free sliding, reliability and long life. Such qualities should in particular permit an application of the coupling in the automobile industry. The coupling is of the type comprising a cylindrical tubular sleeve which has generatrices parallel to the direction of sliding and which is intended to be fixed to one of two elements to be coupled. The sleeve defines at least two runways for at least two rollers rotatively mounted on trunnions rigid with a rod which is intended to be fixed to the other of the elements to be coupled. At the end of the sleeve opposed to the end fixed to the element to be coupled, there is provided a cover which is fixed to the sleeve by an elastically yieldable fastener. The cover defines a surface perpendicular to the axis and abutting, with interposition of a sealing element, against the adjacent end of the sleeve. This cover defines a device for guiding and sealing the rod.

The telescopic roller sleeve contains a cylindrical tubular body 1 welded to the cardan grip 2. On the body there are three rolling surfaces 3 for three rollers 4. The rollers are mounted on pins 5 fixed on the rod 6 with the possibility of rotation and longitudinal movement along the rolling surfaces of the body. The rod 6 is rigidly attached to the second shaft to be connected.,
In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, the rollers 4 are mounted on needle bearings 7 held by caps 8 mounted on the ends of the trunnions 5.
The spherical shape of the rollers allows for a good pressure distribution along the forming rolling dimension. However, the rollers may be cylindrical, and the rolling surfaces may be flat. The end of the cylindrical tubular body from the side of the stem is closed by a cover 9 of plastic material.
Along the periphery of the lid, a portion 10 is formed in a shape corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the housing. Gasket 11, installed. in the groove 12, the shape of which corresponds to the cross-sectional shape of the housing, on the lid, is sealing between the bottom of the groove 12 and the end face of the housing 13.
On the flange of the lid there is a collar undercut 14, made. whereby a soft lip 15 is formed, providing a tight fit of the cap to the stem.
On the opposite side on the outer surface of the cap there is an annular seat 16 for the sealing element 17, which provides sealing between the outer surface of the cap and the stem.
The cover 9 is attached to the housing 1 by means of a flexible metal bracket 18 consisting of three branches, the ends of which enter the sockets 19, which are formed on the housing by means of stamping.
A central bore 20 is provided in the flexible bracket for the passage of the rod 6. The same bracket holds the sealing element 17 against axial movement.
To center the cover relative to the body, three protrusions 21 are provided on the inner surface, in which there are grooves 22 for expansion. the position of the rollers in the extreme extended position of the coupling.
To improve alignment, there are two shoulders 23 on each of the protrusions 23, designed to interact with two oppositely spaced tracks of each of the rolling surfaces.
On the protrusions 21 of the cover between the grooves and the hole for the stem, a support surface 24 is formed, which serves as a stop for the movement of the stem to the extreme position.
The clutch works as follows.
With a relative axial movement of the shaft to be connected, the stem b with the rollers can move in the longitudinal direction inside the housing 1. The locking in the extreme extended position of the coupling is carried out by pressing the pins into the bearing surfaces 24 of the lid.
Due to the fact that the cover is centered relative to the rolling surfaces and firmly held,

The invention makes it possible to precisely balance transmission devices rotating at high speed and to use them in automobiles.
The simplicity of manufacturing the components of the proposed coupling allows one to significantly reduce the cost of its manufacture and to ensure the possibility of large-scale production.

1. TELESCOPIC ROLLER COUPLING, comprising a cylindrical tubular housing rigidly fixed at one end to a shaft to be joined, the shafts of which are parallel to the axis of the shaft to be connected, with at least two rolling surfaces made on it and housed in the housing by means of a guide unit with axial movement and connected with another IE of connected shafts, a rod with pins rigidly fixed on it and rollers mounted on the pins, the number of which corresponds to the number of rolling surfaces of the housing, and a sealing element and a limiter for axial movement of the rod relative to the housing, characterized in that, in order to increase reliability and service life, it is provided with a cover with a flange made of plastic material, on the periphery of which a section is made perpendicular to the axis of the coupling, corresponding to the shape of the cross section of the housing, sealing the element is made in the form of a gasket installed between the end face of the housing and the peripheral portion of the cover, an annular undercut is formed on the flange, forming a sealing edge for the rod, and on the outer surface there is a socket for a sealing element in contact with the rod, the cover is mounted on the end of the housing, opposite the place of its attachment to the shaft, by means of a flexible bracket with a hole for the rod, pressing the sealing element to the cover.
