Bicycle parking device equipped with a tie-down element DESCRIPTION:
Field of the invention The invention relates to a bicycle parking device comprising a bicycle rack for receiving a part of a bicycle, as well as an elongate attachment element which is provided at or near a first end with an attachment eye to which the bicycle can be connected to prevent theft of the bicycle. bicycle, which attachment element is attached to the bicycle rack at or near the other, second end, or is provided at or near the other, second end with a fastening element with which the attachment element can be attached to a foundation, floor, wall or ceiling of a bicycle shed, wherein the attachment element is resiliently or is resiliently attached to the bicycle rack or to the attachment element, in such a way that the attachment eye can be manually pulled towards the user by the user and, when released, returns to the initial position, which the attachment element occupies if there are no being pulled.
An attachment element serves to be able to lock a bicycle to the bicycle parking device, for instance via a chain lock on the attachment eye, so that it cannot be easily removed.
The connecting element (for example a strip or a rod) must be made of a strong material that is difficult to break, for example cut or sawn.
A bicycle rack may be a frame which is provided with a holder (for instance a wheel slot) for receiving a part of a wheel of a bicycle (for instance a part of the front wheel). A connecting eye should be understood to mean an element which is provided with a hole (eye) through which a cable or chain of a bicycle lock can be inserted.
Prior art Such a bicycle parking device 1s is known from WO2014/013264A.
In this known bicycle parking device, the connecting element is a rigid bar provided with a connecting eye and which is connected to the bicycle rack via a gas spring. The rod extends in a direction that is more horizontal than vertical. The attachment eye is located near the lower part of an opening into which the bicycle with the front wheel can be inserted. On either side of the bicycle there may be further bicycles, which make it difficult to grasp the attachment element and move it to a position where it can be locked to the bicycle. Summary of the invention An object of the invention is to provide a bicycle parking device of the type described in the preamble, wherein a bicycle can be easily locked to the connecting element. To this end, the bicycle parking device according to the invention is characterized in that the connecting element comprises a straight or substantially straight bar which extends in a direction which is oriented more vertically than horizontally. In the case of a substantially straight bar, a slightly curved bar can be envisaged, for example. The attachment eye is hereby located at a high level so that it is easily accessible and the user can easily grasp the attachment eye and pull it towards him. As a result, a bicycle can be easily attached to the connecting element. A long chain lock is not required for fastening because the attachment eye can be brought close to the place where the bicycle is fastened.
An embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention is characterized in that the rod is rigid and is fastened via a bending spring to the bicycle rack or to the fastening element, the rod being directly fastened to the bending spring and the bending spring being directly fastened to the bicycle rack or to the the fixing element. The attachment element is vandal resistant because it cannot be bent. Preferably, the spring and the rod here form one whole. A bending spring can be a short flexible, elastic rod or a helical spring that cannot or can hardly be pulled out. For example, the rod may be made of iron or steel.
A further embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention is characterized in that the rod is an elastically bendable rod which is directly attached to the bicycle rack or to the fastening element. For example, the attachment element may be formed by a braided cable or a plastic rod which springs back after being bent.
Preferably, the rod is formed by a steel cable.
Furthermore, the rod preferably has a diameter of at least 20 mm.
Yet another embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises a tube in which the connecting element is present, which tube extends in a direction which is oriented more vertically than horizontally, the connecting element with the connecting eye protruding from the tube and can be partly pulled out of the tube, and wherein the connecting element is locked in the tube.
When pulled out, the cable is steered through the tube in a direction in line with the tube, so that the chance that the cable will hit a bicycle during bending is reduced.
When not in use, the attachment element is neatly and safely stored in the tube so that it cannot be damaged and cannot be bumped against.
Preferably, the connecting element is connected to the tube via a tension spring present in the tube, so that when the connecting element is released, the connecting element is pulled into the tube by the tension spring.
Brief description of the drawings The invention will be further elucidated below on the basis of drawings of exemplary embodiments of the bicycle parking device according to the invention.
Hereby shows:
Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention with a connecting element designed as an elastically bendable rod present in a tube;
Figure 2 shows a front view of the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 1;
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 1;
Figure 4 shows the attachment element of the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 1;
Figure 5 is a side view of a second embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention with an attachment element designed as an elastically bendable bar.
Figure 6 is a front view of the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 5; Figure 7 is a perspective view of the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 5; Figure 8 shows a third embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention with an attachment element designed as a rod which is resiliently attached to a bicycle rack; and Figure 9 shows the bicycle parking device shown in Figure 8 in perspective.
Detailed description of the drawings Figures I, 2 and 3 show a first embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention with a bicycle therein. The bicycle parking device 1 consists of a bicycle rack 3 and a number of connecting elements 5 attached thereto. The connecting elements are shown in different positions in which they are bent more or less. The bicycle rack 3 has a frame 7 to which various wheel holders 9 are attached, which are arranged such that bicycles 11 can be parked from two sides and at two different levels.
The connecting elements are elongate and formed by a cable 5 of interwoven steel wires. The cable 5 has a thickness of 20 mm or more. This cable 5 extends in a direction which is directed more vertically than horizontally. The upper part of the cable 5 is bent over with the end being attached to a part of the cable spaced from the end so as to form an eye. This eye functions as an attachment eye 13 to which a bicycle can be attached via a cable or chain lock. The lower end of the cable 5 is attached to a fastening element 15. The fastening element is formed by a solid cylinder formed around the end of the cable 5, see figure 4 in which the cable is shown separately.
The cable 5 has resilient properties: when released after bending, the cable springs back to the straight starting shape. The cable 5 is bendable in all directions, both in the longitudinal direction of a bicycle 11 parked in the bicycle parking device 1, see figure 1, and in a direction transverse thereto. see figure 2 and all directions present in between.
Figures 5 to 7 show a second embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention.
All parts similar to those of the above-described embodiment are designated with the same reference numerals.
In this bicycle parking device 21 the cable 5 is partly present in a tube 23 which is attached to the bicycle rack 3.
The tube 23 extends in a direction that is oriented more vertically than horizontally.
The part of the cable protruding from the tube forms the attachment eye 13. The cable 5 can be partly pulled out of the tube, so that the attachment eye 13 can be moved extra far.
As a result, a bicycle 11 parked in the bicycle rack 3 can even be attached to the connecting element at the rear.
In the figures, the cable 5 is shown in more or less drawn positions from the tube 23.
The fastening element 15 is also here formed by a solid cylinder which is formed around the end of the cable 5.
This cylinder has a larger diameter than that of the cable.
In the tube 23 there is a constriction (not visible in the figures) through which the cable 5 fits and the cylinder does not.
As a result, the cable 5 cannot be pulled further out of the tube 23 than until the cylinder makes contact with the constriction.
The fastening element is attached to the frame 7 which forms the bottom of the tube 23 via a tension spring present in the tube 23 (not visible in the figures).
As a result, the cable 5 pulled out of the tube 23 will be pulled back into the tube by the tension spring when released.
Figures 8 and 9 show a third embodiment of the bicycle parking device according to the invention.
Here too, all parts which are equal to those of the above-described embodiment are designated with the same reference numerals.
In this bicycle parking device 31, the attachment element is formed by a rod 33 of spring steel, which is bent at one end and forms an attachment eye 35.
The other end of the rod is attached to a coil spring 37. This coil spring 37 is attached to one end of the tie member.
This end forms a fastening element 39 which is fastened to the frame 7 of the bicycle parking device.
The rod 33, coil spring 37 and fastening element 39 form an integral whole in this embodiment.
In this case too, the rod 33 extends at a small angle of between 0 and 45 degrees with the vertical direction.
Although the invention has been elucidated in the foregoing with reference to the drawings, it should be noted that the invention is by no means limited to the embodiments shown in the drawings.
The invention also extends to all embodiments deviating from the embodiments shown in the drawings within the framework defined by the claims.
