"CRYSTAL FOR BIGGEN"
Technical field of the invention
The invention relates to a farrowing stall for piglets, consisting of one or more portable modules which, when appropriately installed in a compartment of the pigsty, with their walls form a living space for the piglets.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
For the purpose of protecting and maintaining the optimum environmental conditions for piglet breeding, elements are usually installed which, together with the walls of a compartment of a pigsty, form suitable living spaces for accommodating piglets.
A solution for creating such a living space consists of placing a portable module with a side wall and a cover between the walls that form a corner of a compartment of a pigsty, this module forms together with the aforementioned walls of the compartment a living space. In a known embodiment, this cover comprises a fixed and a moving part, by way of a valve, which can be folded with respect to the fixed part such that the form it can take is essentially an upward vertical position, and an operating position, substantially parallel on the floor of the pigsty to accommodate the animals.
As for these known maternity cages, they cannot be satisfactorily cleaned even when the moving part of the cover is raised. This is due to the fact that the height of the covering part is limited, this is in accordance with the function it has and the dimensions of the animals to be protected, so that the underside of the cover is not easily accessible. For example, a jet of water from a hose cannot be sprayed against that underside if the cleaner does not enter the living space somewhat.
On the other hand, cleaning the underside of the moving part of the cover should be simpler, since it can be raised during cleaning, so that the underside is clearly visible and, for example, sprayed against it with a jet of water can become. However, experience shows that the collision of the water with this surface leads to unwanted splashes, which are very Hindu for the cleaner, among other things.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a maternity cage that resolves these inconveniences in a simple manner, without affecting the production costs of the maternity cage, nor the work required for its installation.
Explanation of the invention
The farrowing house of the invention comprises at least one adapted module to form, together with the walls of a compartment of a pigsty, a living space for piglets, the module consisting of a side wall, a fixed part of the cover, fixedly connected to the side wall and a moving part of the cover, such as a flap, which is foldable with respect to the fixed part of the cover.
The maternity cage is essentially characterized in that the fixed part of the cover runs downwards, towards the rear of the formed living space. In other words, the fixed part of the cover slopes downwards and backwards. The advantage of this is that thanks to this feature, the underside is accessible from the entrance of the maternity cage, without having to go inside to direct a jet of water upwards.
In one embodiment, the fixed part of the cover on the opposite side wall of the module is provided with a C-shaped profile on which the top of a side wall of the compartment can be placed, such that the module is firmly installed can be made in that compartment, respectively, by the support of the underside of the side wall and the C-shaped profile on the ground and the aforementioned laterally closing wall of the compartment of the pigsty.
According to an interesting variant, the C-shaped profile can be extended to the front of the module, which is equipped with a side support on which a side of the moving part of the cover can rest stably when it is closed.
According to another feature of the invention, the moving part of the cover is provided at the bottom with a number of reinforcing ribs which are arranged in the longitudinal direction towards the rear of the living space, wherein there are no transverse reinforcing ribs.
Unlike other known maternity cages whose moving parts of the cover have reinforcing ribs that form a grid, the bottom of the moving part of the cover of the maternity cage of the invention has no transverse ribs that cause the water to splash back to the cleaner when a jet of water is aimed at cleaning it. In addition, the special orientation of the reinforcing ribs ensures that the water of the jet comes together and is sent down instead of to the cleaner.
The moving part of the cover is preferably provided with a downwardly facing surrounding screen which extends over the entire circumference, with the exception of the side which is supported on the C-shaped profile.
In a preferred embodiment, the farrowing house consists of two symmetrical modules that are connected to each other over the C-shaped profile. This makes it possible to form two living spaces, one on each side of the dividing wall between two adjacent compartments in the pigsty.
Even more preferred is an embodiment in which the side walls and the fixed part of the cover of the two modules and the C-shaped profile consist of a single part.
The invention provides that the rear edge of the fixed part of the cover of each module is equipped with a curved fin which is provided with openings and can thus be attached to the rear wall of the relevant compartment of the pigsty.
According to another interesting feature, a hump is formed in the fixed part of the cover with a recess the opening of which is inscribed on a horizontal surface and therefore forms an angle with respect to the sloping fixed part of the cover.
Thus, in the event that a lamp is used to heat the living space, it is possible that it is perpendicular to the floor of the pigsty even when the fixed part of the roof slopes obliquely downwards or is inclined with respect to from the floor of the pigsty.
In order to also improve accessibility to the sensitive areas of the farrowing house, in one embodiment the hinged connection of the moving part of the cover and the fixed part of the cover is formed around a pivot axis (x) which is placed in a slightly displaced manner above the top of the fixed part of the cover.
Consequently, in accordance with another feature of the invention, the fixed and moving parts of the cover are provided at the edges with an equal number of upwardly directed ribs where the hinges are formed with which both the fixed and moving parts of the cover move for the mutual connection between the fixed and moving parts.
Brief description of the drawings
Figures 1 and 2 are perspective views of a maternity cage 1 according to the invention, which forms two living spaces in corresponding adjacent compartments of a pigsty separated by a wall or partition; and
FIG. 3 is a side view of a maternity loft from Figures 1 and 2.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Figures 1 and 2 show a farrowing box 1 according to the invention which consists of two modules 2 and 2 'that are forbidden to each other via a C-shaped profile 8 intended to be mounted over the top of the partition wall 4 between two adjacent compartments in a pigsty.
Figures 1 and 2 show the maternity pen 1 correctly installed in a pig shed such that the aforementioned C-shaped profile 8 is coupled to the top of a partition wall 4, device 1 being placed against a rear wall 3 of that pig shed.
On each side of the C-shaped profile 8, the farrowing house 1 consists of a side wall 5 and a cover consisting of two parts: a fixed part of the cover 6 that extends as a bridge between the side wall 5 and the C-shaped profile 8 , a moving part of the cover 7, which is foldable with respect to the fixed part of the cover 6. In these Figures 1 and 2, the moving part of the cover 7 of the module 2 is shown in upright position around the inside of the cover. living space formed by showing this module 2 with the rear wall 3 and the partition wall 4. See how the lower edge 5a of the side wall 5 is appropriately supported by the floor 10 of the pigsty.
It can already be seen in Figure 1 that the fixed part of the cover 6 slopes slightly downwards towards the rear, i.e. towards the rear wall 3 or what is the same towards the rear of the living space formed by the module 2 of the device 1. Although the shape of this fixed part of the cover 6 in the example is straight, it is also provided that it is curved or that straight and curved pieces are combined with each other, but according to the invention it will run downwards, so that the bottom 6a thereof is accessible in the entrance of the formed living space. Figure 2 shows this underside 6a against which the water jet can be sprayed to clean it without the need to put the nozzle of the jet into the living space and to direct the jet upwards.
The farrowing house 1 can be equipped with this feature regardless of the number of modules that it consists of. Although in the example the delivery room 1 is double, in the sense that it is intended to form two symmetrical living spaces that are separated from one another by partition wall 4 between compartments of the pigsty, the same solution can also be applied when the delivery room 1 is a single room is and consists of only one side wall 5 and one cover.
Figure 3 shows better the slope of the part of the cover 6.
Thanks to the side view of this Figure 3, it is possible to see that in this part of the covering 6 a hump 21 is formed with a recess 18, the opening of which is inscribed on a horizontal plane (z), and which forms an angle with respect to the fixed part of the cover 6, which slopes downwards, in the example mainly inscribed in an inclined plane (y). The recess 18 can be closed with a lid and is intended for receiving a detachable connection for a lamp which is intended to provide the relevant living space of the maternity cage 1 with heat. The opening of the recess 18 supports the lamp at a position perpendicular to the floor 10 of the pigsty despite the fact that the fixed part of the cover 6 is inclined.
Back to Figures 1 and 2, in these figures we see that the C-shaped profile 8 extends to the front of the modules 2, 2 'and that it is equipped with a side support 11 in order to get stable support from a side edge 12 for the moving part of the covering 7 when it is closed, this provides more protection for the piglets.
For the purpose of facilitating the cleaning work, it is shown in Figures 1 and 2 that the moving part of the cover 7 at the bottom 7a is provided with a number of reinforcing ribs 13 which are arranged in the longitudinal direction towards the rear of the living space, wherein there are no transverse reinforcing ribs in this underside 7a that run from one side of the moving part of the cover 7 to the other. Because there are no transverse ribs, it is avoided that when a water jet is directed against the bottom side 7a when the moving part of the cover 7 is raised, shown in Figures 1 and 2, splashing back to the worker. Rather the opposite is the case, the longitudinal reinforcing ribs 13 collect the water and direct it downwards.
The hinged connection between the moving part of the cover 7 and the fixed part of the cover 6 is formed around a pivot axis x which is placed in a slightly displaced manner above the top of the fixed part of the cover 6 (see Fig. 1) . To this end, both the fixed part of the cover 6 and the moving part of the cover 7 are provided at the edges with an equal number of upwardly directed ribs 19 where the hinges 20 are formed with which both the fixed and moving parts of the cover move for the mutual connection between the fixed and moving parts.
As shown in Figure 2, the advantage of this is that, in addition to improving the consistency of the hinge, this feature makes it possible that when the moving part of the cover 7 is raised, the opposite edges of the moving and fixed part 6, 7 are exposed, which facilitates the cleaning of this sensitive zone.
In these figures 1 and 2 it can also be seen that the moving part of the cover 7 is provided with a surrounding screen 14, which is directed downwards, and which extends over the entire circumference, with the exception of the side 12 which is on the C-shaped profile 8 supports.
For a correct attachment of the post 1 in the pigsty, the rear edge of the fixed part of the covering 6 of each module 2, 2 'is equipped with a curved fin 15 provided with openings 16 for attachment to the rear wall 3 of the relevant compartment of the pigsty, by means of, for example, screws or the like.
In the example, the maternity cage 1 is equipped with a few accessories formed by fences 17 or fences located between each side wall 5 of the maternity cage 1 and the partition wall 4 between compartments of the pigsty. This fence can be provided with an access door to the living space and its height does not extend to the moving part of the covering 7, whereby the inside of the living space or the maternity cage can be inspected without the necessity of moving part of the covering 7 to open.
