The invention relates to the field of motor vehicles, more particularly to the bases of motor vehicles and even more particularly to air deflectors for bases.
The base of a motor vehicle constitutes the lower part of the body structure of a motor vehicle, it brings together different elements, in particular the assembly formed by the chassis frame and the mechanical base. In order to improve the aerodynamic behavior of the vehicles while protecting the bodies under the body, air deflectors are fixed in particular on the wall of the underbody.
The fixing of the air deflectors on the base is frequently carried out using fixing devices of the stud-nut type because they ensure a reliable and precise mounting. For this, orifices of the deflector are fitted on studs projecting from the wall of the base, then nuts, generally made of plastic, are then engaged and screwed onto these studs so as to press the deflector against the wall of the base and to ensure thus its fixation. Unfortunately, when the motor vehicle is moving in the direction of travel, the front wheels of the motor vehicle tend to project gravel from the road against the base of the vehicle or the fixing devices of the air deflectors are located in this gravel zone, and therefore present a high risk of being damaged.
The patent document published FR 2 921 988 A1 describes a deflector fixed to a body wall of a motor vehicle by means of several fixing devices. Although these devices include in particular a stud passing through an opening in the deflector and onto which a nut is screwed, each device is in this case linked in one piece to the deflector by means of a hinged film. Structurally, each device comprises in particular a support, arranged in the continuity of the hinge film and which is provided in its central part with a hexagonal nut provided at one of its ends with an external radial flange connected to the support by fixing lugs. This device has the advantage of being articulated relative to the deflector around the hinge wire, which makes it able to pivot in an open position or in a folded position on the deflector. In the folded position the nut is screwed onto the stud and the support which encircles the flange of the nut is pressed against four stops on the wall of the deflector. At the same time, a locking tab formed by the deflector makes it possible to immobilize the support on the deflector. In addition to allowing good fixing of the deflector on the wall of the body, this fixing device in the folded position also has the advantage of protecting the nut against impacts. However, if this protection is certainly effective against the impact of gravel, the fact remains that this device, which came together with the deflector, remains complex and potentially expensive.
The aim of the invention is to overcome at least one of the drawbacks of the above-mentioned state of the art. More particularly, the invention aims to limit the deterioration of the fixing devices of the air deflectors assembled to the underbody of motor vehicles, and more particularly the deterioration of the fixing devices having a projecting part of the wall of the underbody, such as non-flooded stud-nut fasteners.
To this end, the invention relates to a deflector for a vehicle underbody, comprising an aerodynamic and / or protective wall against gravel; at least one deflector fixing zone, comprising a plate with a fixing hole and intended to receive a nut or a screw head; remarkable in that the or at least one of the fixing zones comprises a protective rib projecting from the plate so as to protect the nut or the screw head on said plate from gravel projections.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the or each of the ribs forms a low wall with an average height greater than 5mm and / or less than 30mm.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the or each of the ribs has a U-shaped profile.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the or each of the fixing zones comprising a protective rib is located at a front edge of the deflector.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the wall and the or each of the fixing zones are made of plastic material in one piece.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the or each of the fixing zones comprising a protective rib comprises at least two tabs extending radially beyond the corresponding orifice and parallel to the plate so as to tighten a flange of the nut to ensure pre-assembly of said nut.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising at least one aerodynamic deflector and / or for protection against gravel, fixed to the base of said vehicle, remarkable in that the or at least one of the deflectors conforms to the invention below. above.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, said vehicle comprises a floor and a fuel tank located at the rear of the floor and comprising two lower front lateral portions, the deflector or deflectors being configured and arranged so as to cover said portions.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, said vehicle comprises a central tunnel and two side rails forming underbody panels, the deflectors comprising a deflector disposed on each side of the central tunnel, extending laterally between said tunnel and the side beam of said side.
The measures of the invention are advantageous in that the protective rib makes it possible to deflect the path of gravel, or any similar material, projected by the front wheels of a motor vehicle against the underbody. This invention is all the more advantageous in that it more particularly makes it possible to limit or prevent the impacts of gravel on the fixing devices of the deflectors covering the base, and this in a simple, economical and rapid manner works on any type of vehicle. This invention is also interesting because it does not prevent easy and quick disassembly and reassembly of the deflectors on the base in the event of repair or recycling.

FIG. 1 shows an overall view of a base 1 of a motor vehicle comprising deflectors 9 according to the invention, as well as an enlarged view of a portion of one of the deflectors 9. As illustrated in the general view, the base 1 extends from the rear trunk 3 to the front of the floor 5 located behind the front stretchers 17 of the vehicle and it is partly covered by two deflectors 9 in the form of a square. In this case in FIG. 1, these deflectors 9 are fuel tank air deflectors 11, that is to say that they cover the portion of the base 1 covering the fuel tank 11 (only the cavity intended to receive the tank is shown here). The front edge of each of these deflectors 9 is fixed to the base 1 at three fixing zones 13. The enlarged view of FIG. 1 shows more particularly two fixing zones 13 of one of the two deflectors 9, and as clearly illustrated in this view, each of these zones 13 comprises a fixing device 15 of the stud type (not visible) - nut 17 projecting from an orifice (not visible) of the deflector 9 concerned. To protect these fixing zones 13 which are in the passage of a graveling zone 19 (illustrated in dotted lines in the general view) a protective rib 25 is arranged in the fixing zones 19 at the front of the devices 15 fixation.
FIG. 2 illustrates a detailed view from above and in perspective of an embodiment of the deflector 9 according to the invention, and FIG. 3 shows a variant of the embodiment of the deflector of FIG. 2. The deflector 9 as such is formed by an aerodynamic and / or gravel protective wall 21, which comprises at least one fixing zone 13 to allow attachment to the underbody 1 of a vehicle (FIG. 1). In this case in Figures 2 and 3, only one fixing area 13 is shown. This fixing zone 13 essentially comprises two elements, namely a fixing plate 23 with a fixing orifice (not visible) and a protective rib 25. The fixing plate 23 is intended more particularly to receive a nut 17 or a screw head, and the protective rib 25 for its part to protect the nut 17 or the screw head in question from the projection of gravel. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, this rib 25 is arranged projecting from the plate 23 on a front edge of the deflector 9 so as to protect the nut 17 or the screw head from gravel projections. This protective rib 25 more particularly forms a low wall with a U-shaped profile which constitutes a reinforcement in the aerodynamic wall 21 of the deflector 9 and whose average height is greater than 5mm and / or is less than 30mm. Thus, the gravel projected from the road ricochet against the external base of the U of the protective rib 25 and are then prevented from striking and damaging the nut 17 projecting from the fixing orifice (not visible) of the area fixing 13 of the deflector 9.
The fixing zone 13 can also advantageously comprise at least two tabs 27 which extend radially beyond the fixing orifice (not visible) and parallel to the plate 23. These tabs 27 are mainly used to tighten a flange 29 of the nut 17 in order to pre-assemble the nut 17 of the fixing device 15. In this case in FIGS. 2 and 3, the fixing zone 13 in which the device 15 for fixing the dowel (not visible) - nut 17 is actually comprises three tabs, two being placed laterally to the nut 17 and the third at the back of it.
In principle, the plate 23 and the rib 25 are made of plastic or composite material. In FIG. 2, the rib 25 is attached to the aerodynamic wall 21 of the deflector 9 and fixed in particular by welding or any other fixing means known to those skilled in the art. In FIG. 3, on the other hand, the aerodynamic wall 21 of the deflector 9 and the fixing zone 13 concerned have come in one piece and therefore in one piece. Advantageously, in this variant the deflector 9 with the rib 25 are shaped by molding to the desired geometry.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle which comprises at least one deflector 9 for aerodynamic and / or protective air according to the embodiment of the deflector 9 described above (FIG. 2) or its variant (FIG. 3). In this case, the deflectors 9 of the vehicle according to the invention are air deflectors for fuel tanks. They are configured and arranged to cover the two lower front lateral portions of the tank 11 conventionally located at the rear of the floor 5 (Figure 1). Advantageously, the deflectors 9 of the vehicle according to the invention comprise a deflector 9 disposed on each side of the central tunnel 6 (FIG. 1) and which can extend laterally between the tunnel 6 and the two lateral side rails 8, which form the bottom of body (Figure 1).
Ultimately, this invention makes it possible to remedy the deterioration of the devices for fixing the air deflectors fixed to the underbody of a motor vehicle. The invention has the advantage of providing underbody deflectors for motor vehicles, the fixing devices of which are much less likely to be damaged by direct projections of gravel since the protective rib, U-shaped and placed at the before each fixing zone, damped and stops the projectiles. Furthermore, although the protective rib of the deflector fixing devices according to the invention is preferably placed in front of fixing devices of the non-embedded stud-nut type, it can nevertheless be arranged in front of any type of fixing device having in fact a projecting part of the wall of the deflector at the level of the fixing zone. This protective rib also has the major advantage of being a means of protection against gravel which is economical both to synthesize and to set up, since it can in particular be directly attached to an already existing deflector. In addition, the addition of this protective wall does not increase the disassembly time or the reassembly time of the deflector.
