The present invention relates to a direction control for a motor vehicle, as well as a motor vehicle equipped with such a direction control. Motor vehicles include a steering column receiving at the rear a steering wheel operated by the driver, which is connected to a steering box controlling the pivoting of the front wheels of the vehicle. On certain vehicles, in particular on vehicles with the possibility of autonomous driving, it is desired to reduce the size of the steering wheel according to the driving conditions to increase the space available on board. A known type of steering control, presented in particular by document US-A1-20160362126, comprises a steering column which can retract forward or fold down, to clear a space in front of the driver. Furthermore, a known type of steering wheel, presented in particular in document CN-U-203294169, comprises two lateral branches forming portions of the rim of this steering wheel, connected to a hub fixed to the steering column by a link allowing different spacings to obtain a variable diameter of the steering wheel. However, the lateral dimensions of this steering wheel are still large, which poses problems, in particular in the case of autonomous driving of the vehicle. In addition, provision must be made for the integration of an airbag, called an "airbag" in English, which must deploy in front of the driver. The present invention aims in particular to avoid these drawbacks of the prior art. To this end, it proposes a steering system for a motor vehicle, comprising a steering column elongated longitudinally along an axis of rotation, and a steering wheel fixed to the rear of the steering column, this steering system being remarkable in that the steering wheel comprises two lateral branches, each connected to the steering column by a pivot, and in that the rear part of the steering column comprises a cover elongated longitudinally, containing an airbag. An advantage of this steering system is that the two lateral branches connected by a pivot to the steering column allow these branches to be folded one on the other on each side of the steering column, to present a reduced lateral dimensions, which is advantageous in particular in the case of an autonomous vehicle in order to free up space in front of the driver. In addition, the longitudinally elongated cover makes it possible to fold the two lateral branches one over the other as close as possible to the axis of the steering column, by forming an interior volume under this cover which, thanks to its length, is sufficient to accommodate an airbag for the driver. The steering system according to the invention may further include one or more of the following characteristics, which can be combined with one another. Advantageously, the rear part of the steering column has in the lateral direction a reduced width compared to the front part, having on each side a side face receiving a branch of the steering wheel which is folded. In this case, advantageously each branch is connected by its pivot to a support fixed on a side face of the steering column. According to one embodiment, the cover covers the rear end of the steering column. According to another embodiment, the cover begins in front of the rear end of the steering column. In this case, advantageously the cover comes on top of the steering column. In addition, the cover can come on the sides of the steering column. The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a steering system comprising any one of the preceding characteristics. Advantageously, the steering column being connected to the vehicle body by a transverse pivot, the driver's seat has in its middle part before a vertical slot which can receive the steering column with its steering wheel folded. In particular, the vehicle may include an autonomous driving function allowing driving without maneuvering the steering wheel. The invention will be better understood, and other aims, characteristics, details and advantages thereof will appear more clearly. in the explanatory description which follows, made with reference to the appended drawings given solely by way of example illustrating an embodiment of the invention, and in which: - Figure 1 is a view of a steering system according to the invention, comprising an airbag cover arranged at the rear end of the steering column; - Figure 2 is a rear view of this steering system; - Figure 3 is a sectional view along a vertical median sectional plane of this steering system folded down inside the driver's seat; - Figure 4 shows a steering system with its steering wheel folded, according to a variant comprising a cover disposed forward; and - Figure 5 shows a steering system according to another variant comprising a cover disposed further forward. Figures 1 and 2 show a steering column 2 in rotation along a longitudinal axis A to ensure the direction of the vehicle, connected to the front side indicated by the arrow "AV", to a steering box controlling the orientation front wheels of a motor vehicle. The rear part 4 of the steering column 2 has two substantially flat side faces 6 forming hollows, having a slight bulge, arranged vertically when the direction of the vehicle is straight. The central part of the flat side faces 6 has a longitudinally elongated bore 8, which connects these two faces together. The steering wheel is constituted by two lateral branches 14, each having a substantially rectangular shape elongated horizontally, having rounded angles, allowing a grip by gripping the outer vertical part 16 of each branch. The inner vertical part 18 of each branch 14 is connected by a pivot of axis B arranged in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the column A, and parallel to the lateral flat faces 6, to a lateral support 12 which is fixed on the flat side face on its side. Each branch 16 can fold back as indicated by the arrows F1, to be superimposed on each other by adjusting on the flat side faces 6. In this way once folded, the 'lateral dimensions of the steering wheel is substantially equivalent to that of the wide front part of the steering column 2. An assembly is obtained having a minimum lateral dimensions. The end of the rear part 4 of the steering column 2 comprises an airbag cover 10 forming a cap coming from the rear, which extends longitudinally over approximately half of this rear part, in the overlapping in an adjusted manner so as to extend it by presenting a constant cross section. The rear of the cover 10 has two lateral wings 30, which each cover the rear side of a support 12 of a branch 14. The cover 10 closes an interior volume between the two supports 12, which extends longitudinally from the rear end of the steering column 2 to the front end of these lateral supports, and laterally between these two supports . This interior volume opens by a longitudinal sliding towards the rear of the cover 10, under the effect of the inflation of an airbag contained inside in the event of a trigger. After folding in front of the branches 14 of the steering wheel, for a steering column 2 remaining in the same position, the airbag remains operational for the driver in the event of an accident. Figure 3 shows a driver's seat 20 fixed to the floor of the vehicle 28, comprising on the rear side a folder 22. The front part of the seat 20 has a vertical slot 24 formed in a median plane, which is arranged below of the steering column 2. The front end of the steering column 2 is fixed to the vehicle body by a transverse pivot 26, allowing the column to tilt around this pivot, as indicated by arrow F2. After having folded forward the two arms 14 of the steering wheel, the driver can fold the steering column 2 by tilting it around its transverse pivot 26, and inserting the assembly into the vertical slot 24 of the seat 20. We obtain a folded end position with the steering wheel fully integrated inside the seat 20, which frees up the space above this seat giving more room and comfort for the driver. In particular, the driver can carry out various work or leisure operations, such as reading or working on a computer. FIG. 4 shows a steering system comprising a steering wheel with two branches 14, each connected by a support 12 fixed on a flat side face 6 of the steering column 2, as shown in FIG. 1. The cover 40 begins just behind the supports 12, then extends longitudinally forwards, covering the top of the steering column 2 as well as the flat side faces 6, and continuing forward on the wider part coming after these flat side faces and after the branches 14 folded. The cover 40 closes an interior volume disposed below this cover, containing the airbag. If this airbag is triggered, the cover 40 is ejected upwards. Figure 5 shows a cover 50 longitudinally elongated, starting from the rear at the end of the flat side faces 6, and which remains on top of the steering column 2, without descending on the sides. The wider front part of the steering column 2 receiving the cover 50, allows to give sufficient space to the interior volume under this cover receiving the airbag. In general, we obtain for these different variants a steering column 2 comprising a fine rear portion for integrating the two folded arms 14 of the steering wheel, having a very small footprint, which includes thanks to the closed interior volume by the cover 10, extending in a longitudinal direction, sufficient space to receive an airbag necessary for the driver. The space freed up by the folding of the steering wheel is an important subject for autonomous driving vehicles, in order to take full advantage of new functionalities enabled by driving without steering wheel control.
