The present invention relates to a mechanical fastening device consisting of male and female parts which are nested and which can be tightened to each other by a locking mechanism.
Overview
There are a large number of mechanical fastening devices and systems on the market. Often, technically complex fasteners are visually detrimental to industrial design.
Previously used solutions
There are many different solutions on the market, such as nested round tubes that are locked with a screw. The locking screw usually only presses the inner tube against the inner wall of the outer tube, creating a strong friction between the screw and the inner tube when torque is applied to it. This can easily damage the surface of the inner tube. Instead of a locking screw, a clamp is often used. The collar has to be tightened really tight to get a backlash-free joint that withstands torque in different directions. Despite the tightening, the nested tubes can rotate relative to each other, scratching each other.
Invention
The mechanical fastening device according to the invention, which consists of male and female parts which are nested and can be tightened together by a locking mechanism, is characterized in that the male part is a symmetrical pin with rounded corners and that the inner part of the female settle down immediately

Another embodiment of the mechanical fastening device is characterized in that the male part is octagonal in horizontal cross-section and that the inner sides of the recess of the female part substantially correspond in shape to the male part in horizontal cross-section.
The male pin has a circumferential groove in which the locking mechanism engages for a more secure connection.
As a locking mechanism, for example, a screw is used, which is tightened through a hole in the wall of the female part with threads so as to tighten the male part tightly. Another available locking mechanism is an eccentric lock, the mechanism of which pushes the male part through an opening in the wall of the female part.
Advantages of the invention
The most significant advantage of the invention is that it can be used to attach various brackets no3 to the pre-assembled female part. For example, the female part can be embedded in the surface of the table, so that the tightening takes place below the surface, or from the end of the surface. Applications for consumer electronics include racks, signs and luminaires. In professional use, applications include the mounting of lighting equipment in video productions or photography.

The figure shows a mechanical fastening device 1 consisting of male 2 and female parts 3. They are nested and can be tightened together by a locking mechanism. The male part 2 is a symmetrical pin with rounded corners. The inner sides of the recess 4 of the female part 3 correspond in horizontal section substantially to the shape of the male part 2. When connected, the parts are immediately close to the correct final position, so that the parts can be tightened together by a locking mechanism mounted on one side of the female part 3. In place of the locking mechanism, I do not have a hole 10 which reflects the direction of the locking force. The chamfered surfaces 5 on both sides of the female part 3, located in the female part 3 on the opposite side of the locking mechanism, abut the rounded corners 6 of the male part 2, so that the locking mechanism on the opposite side locks the roundings of the male part 2 against the chamfered surfaces 5. The tip 9 of the male part 2 is chamfered so that it locks in place against the corresponding chamfer 7 in the recess 4 of the female part 3.

The cross-sectional view shows a groove 8 in the center of the pin of the male part 2, which rotates around it, in which the locking mechanism is placed in order to provide a more secure connection. The arrow passing through the hole 10 of the locking mechanism reflects the direction of the pressure of the locking mechanism for 30 minutes.

The claims
A mechanical fastening device (1) consisting of male (2) and female (3) parts which are nested and which can be tightened together by a locking mechanism, characterized in that the male part (2) is symmetrical with rounded corners.
