Cross reference to related requests
[0001] The application claims priority to the US Provisional Patent Application. No. 62 / 475,687 filed on March 23, 2017, the complete content of which 5 is incorporated as a reference herein.
Countryside
[0002] The present invention is directed to a vehicle seat and more particularly to a vehicle seat with a hammock seat suspension. The present invention is directed to a vehicle seat assembly equipped with a seat suspension of
10 bar and mesh hammock spring, and more particularly to an improved motorcycle seat assembly using a bar and mesh hammock spring seat suspension.
Introduction
[0003] US Pat. No. 7,523,988 B1 is directed to a seat assembly of
15 vehicle intended for marine use that is equipped with a seat suspension formed by a generally rectangular segment of an elastic and resistant weave capable of supporting a load made of a flexible fabric capable of supporting a load that is normally an elastic mesh material capable of of supporting a load, for example, an elastomeric woven mesh, such as fabric or mesh capable of supporting a load of DYMETROL, which
20 suspends between a pair of suspension mounts spaced between them connected to a part of a seat base. Before or during assembly to the seat base, the suspension must be handled in such a way that the tension of the suspended screen increases between the assemblies connected to the seat base, thus prestressing the screen before the actual use and operation of the suspension. Pre-tensioning of the screen must be done before the
The operation of the suspension so that the hatching of the suspension is sufficiently tight, for example, that it is under sufficient tension, and is generally flat before any load is applied to the suspension during actual use of the suspension so that the

The weave of the suspension supports a load during the actual use of the suspension without the deflection deforming, deforming or sinking excessively.
[0004] Several arrangements of said seat suspension with fabric capable of supporting a load, for example mesh, are described in the '988 patent, including one or more describing weave of fabric or mesh capable of supporting a load extending between a pair of mounts, where at least one of the mounts is a bar spring that functions as a leaf spring that works in conjunction with the pre-tensioned frame suspended between the mounts to support the loads, resist deflection, and absorb the potholes, jolts and the like that the suspension typically finds during the operation of the suspension. In a preferred fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load described in the '988 patent, at least one side of the section of the suspended pre-tensioned screen is connected to a J-shaped hook with a portion extending towards outside or from the screen having a U-shaped channel or hook, for example, is a J-shaped hook, which engages around one of a plurality of suspension anchors normally formed integrally in or of a base, for example, the seat tray, the seat.
[0005] More recently, a fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load similar to that described in the '988 patent has been adapted for motorcycles, such as the fabric or mesh suspension capable of supporting a load provided on the products with Harley-Davidson® "Hammock" seat (for example the Harley® Pilot and Passenger Hammock Touring Seat Part No. 52000003A), which has a DYMETROL elastomeric fabric or mesh segment capable of supporting a pre-suspended load tensioned at opposite ends, very similar to a hammock, between a pair of suspension mounts spaced between them that are integrally formed in a three-dimensionally molded compound and / or in a plastic tray of a seat base of a motorcycle seat . To suspend the suspension hatch segment between integrally formed mountings, for example, molded, in the motorcycle seat tray so that the tensioning is also tensioned previously with a tension without load sufficiently tight to manage the load, accelerations , bumps, jolts and the like that the suspension typically encounters when supporting a seat occupant, for example a driver or operator, who sits in the motorcycle seat, a lever-type suspension mounting tool with a relatively handle should be used long. During assembly,

one side of the screen is connected to one of the suspension mounts integrally formed in the motorcycle seat tray and the manipulated tool to stretch the screen enough so that the opposite side of the screen can be connected to the other suspension assembly formed integrally in the motorcycle seat tray under sufficient tension, for example, pre-tension, so that the screen has a proper behavior during the use of the suspension during motorcycle operation.
[0006] Although these motorcycle seats equipped with hammock-type fabric or mesh suspensions capable of supporting a load and the mounting method mentioned above have worked well to date, improvements to these type motorcycle seat suspensions are still desirable Hammock and mounting method. As such, a motorcycle seat assembly equipped with a hammock fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load that can be more easily mounted to a tray of a motorcycle seat base is included by including it in a way that do while the fabric or mesh screen is tensioned previously capable of supporting a load of the suspension. A motorcycle seat assembly is also needed that includes such a hammock-type fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load that can be mounted to the seat tray without requiring the use of a lever drive or fulcrum tool for pre-tensioning. the fabric or mesh screen capable of supporting a load of the seat suspension. In addition, a motorcycle seat assembly is required that is equipped with said hammock-type fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load arranged within the motorcycle seat but which can also accommodate a backrest assembly within the seat that accepts a backrest that is adjustable and preferably also removable from the seat.
[0007] The present description is directed to a motorcycle seat assembly with a hammock-type fabric or mesh seat suspension capable of supporting a load that not only provides greater impact insulation and greater comfort for the improved seat occupant on conventional motorcycle seats, but also more securely anchored to the motorcycle seat tray so as to allow faster, easier and / or more consistent pre-tensioning of the fabric or mesh screen capable of supporting a load during suspension of the tensioned frame during the assembly of the seat suspension to the seat tray. The present description is also directed to

a motorcycle seat assembly with an elongated seat suspension assembly that extends longitudinally or dorsally from front to back and a support bracket fixed to the tray in a plurality of longitudinally spaced locations along the support and the tray that provides a support that not only functions as a reinforcement pillar of the tray but is configured to facilitate pre-tensioning during assembly and clamping of the suspension after assembly.
[0008] A motorcycle seat base assembly of an exemplary construction is formed by a composite and / or plastic seat tray reinforced by a longitudinally extending elongated seat suspension assembly and a fixed support bracket to the tray where the support is configured with an element of the suspension assembly that facilitates the pre-assembly connection of a hammock-type fabric or mesh suspension assembly capable of supporting a load in a way that allows repositioning or adjustment of any component of the suspension and which facilitates the pre-tensioning or preloading of the fabric or mesh screen capable of supporting a load of the suspension assembly by automatically tensioning the screen during the manual fixing of the suspension assembly to the support and / or the tray during the assembly of the motorcycle seat In said preferred motorcycle seat assembly equipped with said suspension and assembly fixation that facilitates the support which also serves as a reinforcement pillar of said tray of said motorcycle seat base assembly formed by the support and tray, the Pre-assembly stage of the hammock-type fabric or mesh suspension assembly capable of supporting a load to the fixation locates, guides and arranges the components of the suspension assembly in relation to the tray and the armchair that supports the occupant of the seat seat the motorcycle, and the step of subsequently fixing the suspension assembly of the seat to the support and / or pre-tensioned tray automatically the hatching of the suspension assembly at a desired tension suitable for the operation of the suspension of the motorcycle seat.
[0009] Said motorcycle seat base formed by said seat tray reinforced with a pillar provided by said seat suspension and support bracket assembly extends backward beyond the fabric or mesh hammock suspension capable of supporting a load connected to the support and / or the tray sufficiently so that part of the support and of the reinforcement pillar of the tray define a platform on which a support that supports the load of the back of a seat back assembly can be anchored giving

thus support the backrest assembly on it allowing said motorcycle seat equipped with suspension to be equipped with a backrest that improves the comfort of the seat occupant. The use of said motorcycle seat base assembly formed by a seat tray mounted on a motorcycle frame or chassis with vibration insulators 5 arranged between them and which is reinforced by a suspension and support bracket assembly of a length greater than that necessary to fix and support a suspension of fabric or mesh hammock capable of supporting a load mounted on it helps to improve the comfort of the seat occupant by reducing the transmission of vibrations from the motorcycle to the seat, absorbing better the bumps, shocks, impacts and vibration that occur during motorcycle movement during operation, and that provides multiple stages of deformation of the load that resists the operation of the suspension. Said motorcycle seat equipped with a hammock fabric or mesh suspension capable of supporting a load advantageously provides greater comfort for the seat occupant, for example, operator or driver, which not only improves the comfort of the
15 driving in real time, but extends the time during which the occupant of the seat remains comfortable while riding the motorcycle equipped with the seat.

Detailed description
[0021] Figures 1 to 8 illustrate a motorcycle seat assembly 20 that produces a motorcycle seat 32 when the assembly that can be mounted on a frame or chassis (not shown) of a motorcycle (not shown) with said seat is completed motorcycle 32 constructed in accordance with the invention equipped with a seat suspension 22 of elastomeric fabric or mesh capable of supporting a load and which can also be equipped with a backrest assembly 24 that includes a backrest 25. The seat suspension 22 is arranged so that the opposite ends (for example, front / rear) have support, while the central section of the fabric or mesh between them has no support or is "suspended." This construction is referred to herein as a "hammock type" since the driver's buttocks are supported on a seat tray 28 so that there is a vertically empty space between the seat suspension 22 and the seat tray 28. The assembly of motorcycle seat 20 from which seat 32 is constructed has a seat base assembly 26 that is formed by an elongated seat tray 28 of composite and / or plastic material that extends from front to back and has an outline three-dimensional mounted on the frame or chassis of the motorcycle with vibration isolators 56 arranged between them and also has a seat suspension and support bracket assembly 36 connected to the tray 28 that not only anchors the seat suspension 22 to the tray 28 but also reinforces and / or strengthens tray 28. The support 36 is elongated and extends backwards from the seat suspension 22 which defines a reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray that reinforces and makes the tray 28 structurally rigid, producing a set of the seat base 26 insulating the most rigid vibration according to another aspect of the invention that reduces, minimizes or avoids the Vibration transmission from the motorcycle frame or chassis to the seat 32 during motorcycle operation.
[0022] A seat base assembly 26 of said motorcycle seat 32 produced from said motorcycle seat assembly 20 constructed in accordance with the present invention

which has an elongated suspension assembly and multi-function construction support 36 that is configured with a fixation 42 of the seat suspension assembly arranged in a part of the seat 46 of the seat 32 that not only facilitates the location, assembly and / or assembly from the suspension of the seat 22 to the assembly of the base of the seat 26, but also facilitates pre-tensioning and / or pre-loading the suspension 22 during the assembly and / or assembly of the suspension. Said suspension assembly and support bracket 36 has a multifunctional construction having at least a plurality of functions, which may include any combination of functioning as a reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray of the seat base assembly 26, a suspension attachment 42 which facilitates the location and / or assembly of the suspension 22 to the seat base assembly 26, and a support 35 of the seat suspension that supports the suspension of the seat 22 after the location and / or assembly of the suspension 22 to the seat base assembly 26. Said multifunctional support 36 may also have a part of the pillar 30 extending rearwardly of the suspension 22 which can also be configured for use as a backrest support 37 that includes a backrest assembly platform 38 to which the backrest assembly 24 of a motorcycle seat equipped with a backrest 32 is anchored.
[0023] As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the seat assembly 20 also includes a seat cushion 27 (for example, made of an open cell or closed cell foam) carrying the seat base assembly 26 with the seat cushion 27 superimposed on the seat tray 28 and the seat suspension 22. Referring still to Figures 2 and 3, the seat cushion 27 rests on or against the seat suspension 22 and also rests on or against part (s) of the seat tray 28 extending forward, backward and on the opposite sides of the suspension 22. Although not shown in the drawings, a seat cover, such as a cover made of leather, fabric, fabric or any other suitable material that can be flexible, strong, durable and water resistant, for example, waterproof, covers the cushion 27 and is connected to the base 26 (for example, fixed to the tray 28 using projections of mounting cover of asient or integrally molded, seat cover mounting pins, fasteners, clips, adhesive (s), or the like).
[0024] The motorcycle seat assembly 20 produces a motorcycle seat 32 with a relatively strong, durable construction that dampens vibration providing the operator or driver with greater comfort, and which can be mounted on the chassis or frame, for example,

tubular frame, (not shown) of a motorcycle or other vehicle equipped with a plurality of wheels that are preferably spaced in a front-to-back direction, at least one of the wheels is driven by a main impeller (not shown), such as a Internal combustion engine, an electric motor or the like, to make the vehicle, preferably the motorcycle, move along the ground. The motorcycle seat assembly 20 produces an oblong, elongated motorcycle seat 32 that extends longitudinally from front to back that is mounted longitudinally on the motorcycle in a lengthwise direction relative to the lengthwise extension or the longitudinal direction of the motorcycle with a pilot, such as an operator
or driver, who sits in the armchair 46 of the seat 32 with his legs on the sides of the seat
32
[0025] The seat suspension assembly and the support bracket 36 is elongated, extending in a front-to-back direction along the seat tray 28 with the support 36 being generally centrally arranged on or along the tray 28 providing or operating as a reinforcement pillar 30 of the elongated seat tray that extends dorsally that also reinforces the tray 28. The support 36 has a three-dimensional contour to be complementary to the three-dimensional contour of the tray 28 with the support 36 or the pillar 30 having a generally concave or U-shaped part on which the suspension of the seat 22 is based and which is received in a correspondingly concave or U-shaped recessed saddle part of the tray 28. Said support 36 which advantageously also reinforces the tray 28 also serving as a pillar 30 of the tray 28 does this by making the tray 28 structurally more rigid gives and / or managing the loads supported by the suspension of the seat 22 and / or the backrest 25 during motorcycle operation, transferring and / or distributing the loads supported on and / or around the tray 28.
[0026] The support 36 is configured with a fastener 35 of the suspension of the concave or U-shaped construction seat which is complementary to the generally concave or U-shaped part of the saddle part of the tray 28 under the seat suspension 22. Said fastener 35 of the generally U-shaped or concave suspension of the support 36 and / or pillar 30 helps to distribute the forces found by, or imposed against the suspension of the seat 22 while occupying the seat, for example driver or operator, is sitting in the seat seat 32 during motorcycle operation, which is

transmitted to the seat tray 28. Said forces caused by lateral and / or longitudinal accelerations by the bumps, jolts, bounces and the like found by the suspension of the seat 22 during motorcycle operation are advantageously transmitted in a more uniform manner through from the suspension 22 to the pillar 30, that is to the support 36, and from the pillar 30, that is the support 36, to the tray 28. The transfer of said forces and other loads found by the suspension 22 and the seat 20 is facilitated by means of the reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray provided by the support 36 which is preferably at least partly produced by the support 36 and therefore the pillar 30 which is formed of a metal, metal alloy, or composite plate 34 which has a width W36 greater than one half of the narrowest width W28 of the tray 28, with a length L36 greater than one half of the length L28 of the tray of the seat 28, and having a ne a length L36 that is substantially as long as the longitudinal extension of the saddle. This helps to improve the comfort of the seat occupant, for example, operator or driver, by damping and / or isolating the forces caused by the accelerations of the seat occupant by said bumps, jolts and the like as a result of the vibration insulators 56 that are arranged between tray 28 and the frame
or motorcycle chassis. The use of an elongated seat suspension and support bracket 36 extending a longitudinal distance or along the tray 28 greater than the longitudinal extension or along the support 35 of the suspension not only provides a reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray that makes the tray 28 structurally more rigid, but also distributes the acceleration forces caused by said bumps, jolts and the like over an area of the tray 28 greater than the area covered by the suspension 22 and the clamp 35 of the suspension, advantageously improving the feeling, comfort and the like of the driver.
[0027] With specific reference to Figures 1, 2, 5 and 6, the support 36 serves as a suspension fastener 35 and extends outwardly opposite the opposite ends of the seat suspension 22 to provide a pillar 30 which reinforces the tray that is elongated, is centrally arranged, for example, dorsally located, and extending longitudinally beyond one half of the length L28 of the seat tray 28 along a longitudinally extending central line of the seat tray 28 that crosses the seat tray 28 and the pillar 30. As shown in Figures 1-2 and 7-8, the part of the support 36 that serves as a support 35 of the suspension and the corresponding part of the pillar 30 is disposed between the seat tray 28 and the seat suspension 22. As

shown in Figures 1-2, the support 36 conforms to the shape of the seat tray 28 and rests on or against the seat tray 28 between the seat cushion 27 and the seat tray 28.
[0028] As best shown in Figures 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8, part of the support 36 extending rearward of the suspension holder 35 is immobilely anchored to the tray 28 and is part of the pillar 30 which extends backwards from the support 35 of the suspension and helps to strengthen, strengthen and / or make the tray 28 more rigid. When the motorcycle seat 32 is equipped with a backrest assembly 24, a part of the support 36 that extends backwards from the suspension fastener 35 and forms part of the pillar 30 includes a backrest mounting platform 38 that is used to anchor the backrest assembly 24 to the tray 28. As best shown in Figures 1, 2, 5 and 6, the backrest mounting platform 38 provides or defines a fastener 37 of the backrest assembly that generally has a surface of flat or planar mounting on or to which the support 40 that supports the backrest load of the backrest assembly 24 is fixed thereby anchoring at least the load securing support 40 of the backrest to the tray 28.
[0029] The suspension assembly of the seat and the support bracket 36 is formed by a rectangular plate 34 generally elongated which can be of metal construction, such as steel, aluminum or an alloy thereof, which is cut, shaped , plastically forms or deforms that it has a three-dimensional contour that generally conforms to the three-dimensional contour of tray 28 and that extends along tray 28 in a longitudinal direction from front to back of tray 28 thus providing a pillar 30 of tray reinforcement. As will be described in more detail below, the fastener 35 of the pillar suspension 30 supports a fabric or mesh seat suspension 22 capable of supporting a load formed when a fabric or mesh seat suspension assembly 118 capable of supporting a load is assembled and assembled during assembly of the motorcycle seat to the assembly of the seat base 26, producing a motorcycle seat 32 with greater comfort constructed in accordance with the present invention that is equipped with a seat suspension 22 of fabric or elastomeric mesh capable of supporting a load. As illustrated in Figures 7-8, the seat suspension assembly 118 is assembled to the support 36, that is to the fixing 42 of the support 36, and then mounted to the support 36, that is to the support 35 of the suspension of the support 36, and a mounting part of the tray 28 suspension. After the

assembly and assembly of the suspension assembly 118 to the base assembly of the seat 26, and after completing the rest of the assembly steps of the motorcycle seat, a motorcycle seat 32 is produced having a seat suspension 22 suspended from fabric or Hammock mesh capable of supporting an internally arranged load. As shown in Figure 2, the suspended seat suspension 22 of hammock-like fabric capable of supporting a load is arranged internally and covered, encompassed or encapsulated within the seat cushion 27, which in turn is disposed internally within a external seat cover (not shown) that covers the seat cushion 27.
[0030] As will be described in more detail below, the support 36 is three-dimensionally configured to provide at least part of, if not substantially all of the suspension fastener 42 to which the suspension assembly 118 of the seat is fixed during the suspension assembly in preparation for the assembly of the suspension assembly 118 to the seat base assembly 26. The fixing of the suspension assembly 118 to the fixing 42 before mounting or fixing the suspension assembly 118 to the assembly of the seat base 26 allows to pre-tension or pre-load a flexible screen 120 capable of supporting a load of the suspension assembly 118 during the assembly or fixing of the suspension assembly 118 to the seat base assembly 26 without the use of special tools or as.
[0031] As will be described in more detail below, the structural elements of the fastener 42 of the support 36 are configured to allow the suspension assembly 118 of the seat to be manually coupled therewith as illustrated in Figure 7, thus locating suitably the suspension assembly 118 in relation to the seat 46 of the motorcycle seat 32, so that the mounted suspension 22 is arranged in the seat 46 under the buttocks of the seat occupant, for example, driver or operator, which sits on the seat 46 of the seat 32. As will also be described in more detail below, part of the fastener 42 can also and preferably be provided by the tray 28 with the tray 28 preferably having a suspension assembly that facilitates a slot108 of space formed in tray 28 that is part of the fixture 42 with the underlying slot 108 and being disposed adjacent to a part ub located on the front of the fastener 42. Referring still to Figure 7, the structural elements of the fastener 42 of the support 36 releasably holds or holds the suspension assembly 118 in place when assembled to the fastener 42 of a way that also allows at least some

adjusting a location, position and / or orientation of part or all of the suspension assembly 118 before permanently fixing or mounting the suspension assembly 118 to the seat base assembly 26 in the manner illustrated in Figure 8. When it is fixed or mount the suspension assembly 118 to the base assembly of the seat 26 in the manner illustrated in Figure 8, the suspension assembly 118 is fixed or mounted to the support 26, for example to the support 35 of the suspension of the support 36. As also shown in Figure 8, part of the suspension assembly 118 can also be fixed or mounted to part of the tray 28 adjacent to the support 35 of the suspension of the support 36.
[0032] The fixing 42 of the support 36 is configured to allow the assembly of the suspension assembly 118 to the support 26 so that it locates and fixes in place the components of the suspension assembly 118 including locating and fixing in place the screen 120 of the suspension assembly 118 at a lower tension than a desired higher operating voltage of the suspension. The part of the fastener 42 provided by the space slot 108 of the suspension assembly formed in the tray 28 allows a part, preferably a part located in the most forward part, of the suspension assembly 118 to be assembled to an adjacent corresponding part, for example, located in the most forward part, of the fixing 42 of the support 36. The fixing 42 of the support 36 is further configured to increase the tension of the hatch 120 of the suspension assembly 118 during the fixing or assembly of the suspension assembly 118 to the assembly of the seat base 26, causing the screen 120 of the suspension to be substantially tensioned by pre-tensioning or pre-loading the screen 120 at a tension or preload that is equal to or greater than the desired minimum pre-tension or preload of the operation of the suspension.
[0033] After fixing the suspension assembly 118 to the fixing 42 of the support 36 and making any adjustment to the suspension assembly 118 while it is fixed, the suspension assembly 118 is fixed or mounted to the seat base assembly 26 by fixing or mounting the suspension assembly 118 to the suspension fastener 35 of the support 36 preferably in the manner described in more detail below. When it is fixed or mounted to the support 35 of the suspension of the support 36, the suspension assembly 118 is thus immovably anchored by means of the attachment 35 of the suspension to the tray 28 by connecting the suspension assembly 118 to the base assembly of the seat 26.

[0034] The suspension holder 35 may also include part of the tray 28 to which part of the suspension assembly 118 is also attached or mounted when the suspension assembly 118 is fixed or mounted to the support 36. As shown in the Figures 5-8, when a motorcycle seat assembly 20 constructed in accordance with the present invention is configured so that part of the suspension assembly 118 is also fixed or mounted directly on part of the tray 28, the suspension fastener 35 of the support 36 and the part of the tray 28 to which the suspension assembly 118 is fixedly mounted or mounted collectively define a suspension mounting arrangement 55 to which the suspension assembly 118 is immovably anchored thereby fixing the assembly of suspension 118 to the seat base assembly 26.
[0035] Referring still to Figures 5-8, the part of the fastener 42 of the suspension of the support 36 and any part of the tray 28 that defines or provides part of the fastener 42 helps to locate and / or position the assembly of suspension 118 assembled thereto and fixed adjacently and / or on the mounting arrangement 55 of the suspension, allowing the suspension assembly 118 to be held by the fixing 42 while being fixed or mounted to the mounting arrangement 55. As will be described in greater detail below, part of the mounting arrangement 55 is formed by part of the bracket 36 and another part of the mounting arrangement 55 is formed by part of the tray 28. As shown in the figures, part of The mounting arrangement 55 is formed by a part of the support 36 which is also part of the fixing 42 and another part of the mounting arrangement 55 is formed by another part of the support 36 and the tray 28 which is arranged adjacent and underlying another part of the support 36 that forms part of the fastener 42 by positioning part of the suspension assembly 118 so that it covers and is arranged adjacent to the part of the support 36 and the tray 28 forming part of the mounting arrangement 55 , simplifying the fixing or assembly to it.
[0036] As shown in the figures, the mounting arrangement 55 of the suspension is formed of (a) a front suspension assembly formed of a frontally arranged part of the support 36 which is also part of the fixing of the suspension 42, and (b) a rear suspension assembly that is formed by an anchoring part of the rear suspension of the support 36 underlying a retention portion of the suspension subsequently disposed of the support 36 that is part of the attachment 42. The suspension assembly The rear part may also include part of the seat tray 28 arranged on either side of the anchoring part of the rear suspension of the support 26 that are underlying the

retaining part of the support suspension fixation 36. As shown in Figures 5-8, the rear suspension assembly of the suspension mounting arrangement 55 may be formed from a part of a rear support segment 119 of the suspension of the support 36 which is underlying a rear suspension retainer (for example, retaining flange 114). The retaining flange 114 may be formed as part of the support 36 extending outwardly from the rear support segment 119 defining a suspension fixing pocket 116 between them. The rear suspension assembly may also include a pair of suspension anchor pads 45 spaced apart by the rear suspension anchor portion of the rear support segment 119 that is underlying the retention tab 114 of the suspension.
[0037] As will be described in more detail below, part of the fastener 42 of the support 36 which is part of the mounting arrangement 55 of the suspension of the support 36 is also part of the fastener 35 of the suspension of the support 36 because part of the suspension assembly 118 is immovably and permanently anchored thereto when the steps of
(1) assemble the suspension assembly 118 to the fixing 42, (2) fix the suspension assembly 118 by locating or positioning the suspension assembly 118 as necessary in relation to the mounting arrangement 55, and (3) subsequently fixing the Suspension assembly 118 to mounting arrangement 55 is performed sequentially to equip the motorcycle seat assembly 20 of the present invention with a fabric or mesh seat suspension 22 capable of supporting a load that improves comfort and avoids the fatigue. When the suspension assembly 118 has been assembled in the fastener 42, part of the suspension assembly 118, preferably the front part of the suspension assembly 118 is assembled to a frontally disposed part of the support 36, i.e. the suspension fastener and retainer of assembly 110, which is not only part of the fastener 42, which holds the front part of the assembly 118 in place in a desired location and / or orientation, but is also part of the mounting arrangement 55, ie the assembly front suspension, to which the front part of the suspension assembly 118 is permanently fixed or immovable when the assembly and assembly of the suspension is finished. Since this same part arranged frontally of the support 36, that is to say the suspension fixing and the mounting retainer 110, is used to fix the front part of the suspension assembly 118 and is part of the mounting arrangement 55 of the suspension, it is that is to say the front assembly of the suspension, this same part arranged frontally of the support 36, that is to say the suspension retainer 110, also forms

part of the suspension bracket 35 after the suspension assembly 118 has been attached to the seat base assembly 26.
[0038] The seat base assembly 26 of the motorcycle seat assembly 20 used to produce the motorcycle seat 20 is advantageously a base assembly of the motorcycle seat 26 with suspension attachment and anchor constructed in accordance with at least one of the aspects of the present invention that is configured with a support 36 for fixing, pre-tensioning, mounting and securing the suspension mounted on a seat tray 28 which is also reinforced by the support 36. Said seat base assembly 26 formed by a seat tray 28 to which said support for fixing the suspension, pre-tensioning the suspension, mounting the suspension and securing the suspension is advantageously facilitates assembly, fixing, pre-tensioning, assembly and fastening continued rear of the seat suspension 22 as it is configured to allow and facilitate the assembly, fixing and assembly of the assembly of its dimension 118 to the seat base assembly 26 without the need or use of any special tools to do so.
[0039] With specific reference to Figures 1-3, the seat tray 28 is constructed of high density polyethylene (HDPE) that is vacuum molded to impart a desired oblong, elongated three-dimensional shape to tray 28. The tray of the seat 28 has a concave or recessed section 44 that supports the operator, disposed adjacent to a front or front end of the tray 28 that is under the driver support saddle 46 or seat operator 32 equipped with a seat assembly 20 motorcycle equipped with a fabric or mesh suspension capable of supporting a load. The front or front end of the tray 28 is preferably configured to facilitate connection to the motorcycle chassis or frame, and has a mounting tab 48 to the elongated front seat (Figure 1) anchored or adjacent to one end of the tray 28 and extends longitudinally along the central line that extends longitudinally from tray 28 under tray 28 towards the front or front end of tray 28 where an opposite end of the tongue 48 is preferably received telescopically slidable in a pocket or mounting tube (not shown) of the motorcycle chassis or frame.
[0040] The rear or rear end of the tray 28 is also configured for connection to the motorcycle chassis or frame by a rear mounting bracket 50

of the elongated seat, which extends longitudinally and centrally arranged. As best shown in Figure 1, the rear mounting bracket 50 of the seat is fixed to the tray 28 at or adjacent to one end of the tray 28 by means of an anchor plate 52 of the seat mounting bracket, for example, a diamond-shaped mounting plate, and extends outwardly from the rear or rear end of the tray 28 where an opposite end of the rear mounting bracket 50 of the seat is connected by a fastener, for example, mounting bolt or the like ( not shown) to the motorcycle chassis or frame. To help improve driver comfort, there is at least a plurality of pairs, for example, at least three pairs, of elastomeric insulators 56, for example rubber dampers or bearings, arranged between the seat tray 28 and the chassis or motorcycle frame. When the seat suspension assembly and the support bracket 36 is connected to the tray 28 and the tray 28 carrying the support 36 is mounted on the motorcycle chassis or frame with the vibration isolators 56 interspersed between the tray 28 and the motorcycle chassis or frame, tray 28, support 36 with tray reinforcement pillar 30, and vibration isolators 56 form a stiffer seat base assembly 26 with vibration damping that gives better support to the driver or operator who sits in the seat 46 of the seat and better insulates the driver or operator from the vibration induced by the road and the chassis all of which advantageously improves the comfort of the driver or operator and reduces fatigue.
[0041] Referring again to Figure 1, the backrest assembly 40 has a support 40 for securing the backrest load that is fixed to the backrest mounting platform 38 of the fastener 37 of the support backrest assembly 36 and / or abutment 30 thus anchoring the backrest assembly 24 to the seat tray 28. The backrest 40 holding support carries a receptacle 58 for the backrest in which an elongated post 60 is received from an adjustment bracket 62 of the backrest. A backrest adjusting support 64 extending upwardly is connected at or adjacent to one end by a pivot 65 to the backrest adjusting support 62 in a manner that allows a forward and backward angle of inclination of the backrest 25 around the pivot 65 that will be adjusted. An adjustment control 66 of the angle of the backrest carried by the adjustment support 62 of the backrest is manipulable, by the occupant and / or operator of the motorcycle seat, to change the angle of the backrest 25 relative to its vertical in the direction towards forward or backward.

[0042] Still referring to Figure 1, the backrest adjusting support 64 is slidably connected and its position can be adjusted at or adjacent to an opposite end of a backrest height adjustment support 68 by means of a retainer arrangement of position 70 for manipulating backrest height adjustment. As shown, the position retainer arrangement 70 for backrest height adjustment has a backrest height fixing plate 72 on one side of the backrest adjusting support 68 and the adjusting support 64 and a control of position lock 74 of the height of the manipulable backrest on the other side of the adjustment support 68 of the height of the backrest and the adjusting support 64 of the backrest that is manipulable, by an occupant and / or operator of the motorcycle seat, for fix the height of the backrest 25 by frictionically fixing the plate 72, the adjustment support 68 of the backrest height, and the adjusting support 64 of the backrest together.
[0043] The adjustment support 68 of the height of the backrest is elongated, rectangular and has a slot 76 that extends longitudinally through which a rod (not shown), such as a threaded rod, of the position lock control 74 of the backrest height extends until it is threadedly connected to the locking plate 72 for locking the position of the backrest and / or a locking nut 78 for locking the position of the backrest height arranged externally to the fixing plate 72. The locking control 74 of the backrest height position is or includes a knob in some constructions that is manually turned in one direction to fix the adjustment support 68 of the backrest height between the fixing plate 72 and the backrest adjusting support 64, configuring the height of the backrest 25 by friction locking the adjusting support 68 of the backrest height in place. When the knob of the backrest height lock 74 is turned in an opposite direction, the backrest height adjustment bracket 68 is unlocked allowing the bracket 68 to slide up or down to move change the height of the backrest 25. As the backrest 25 moves up or down, the stem of the lock knob 74 of the position of the backrest moves along the groove in the support 68 backrest height adjustment. When the desired height of the backrest 25 is reached or achieved, the control knob 74 is rotated in the direction that the backrest 25 is substantially fixed in place by setting the height of the backrest 25.

[0044] Figures 3-8 illustrate the motorcycle seat assembly 20 and a method of making the motorcycle seat assembly 20 to produce a motorcycle seat 32 that is equipped with a fabric or mesh seat suspension 22 capable of supporting a load anchored to the seat tray 28 by means of a support 36 for mounting and fixing the seat suspension which also functions as a reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray to a part of the tray 28 contoured or configured three-dimensionally. The support 36 is configured, for example, three-dimensionally formed, so as not only to define at least part of the fastener 42 that facilitates the assembly and fixation of the suspension assembly 118 when mounting the suspension assembly 118 to the seat base assembly 26 , but is also configured, for example, to be formed three-dimensionally, to define at least part of a suspension 35 of the suspension that holds the suspension of the seat 22 after the assembly, fixing and assembly of the suspension assembly 118 is completed.
[0045] The support 36 is formed of an elongated metal plate 34 or relatively broad, strong, rigid metal alloy. The support 36 may have a width W36 greater than one half of the narrowest width W28 of the seat tray 28 and a length L36 greater than one half of the length L28 of the seat tray 28 providing a reinforcing pillar 30 of the tray anchored to tray 28 over at least one half of the length L28 of the seat tray 28 reinforcing, stiffening and strengthening the seat tray 28 over at least half of the length L28 of the seat tray 28. Said support 36 which provides said reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray not only reinforces, stiffens structurally and strengthens the tray 28, but the length of the reinforcement pillar 30 of the tray provided by the support 36 also advantageously distributes more uniformly the forces on a larger area of the tray 28 that are experienced by the suspension of the seat 22 and transmitted by the support 36 to the tray 28 during motorcycle operation, including due to the loading of the seat suspension 22 by the seat occupant, for example driver or operator sitting in the seat 46 of the seat 32. By distributing the support 36 said forces found by the suspension 22 over an area greater than the tray 28, so that the assembly of the base of the seat 26 formed of the tray 28 and the support 36 anchored thereto reduces, minimizes or completely prevents advantageously the deflection and / or deformation of the tray 28 during the operation of the motorcycle to produce a more stable and secure seat 32 which in turn helps to improve comfort and reduce fatigue. Said pillar 30 provided by the support 36 not only reinforces the tray of the

seat 28, but can be configured, for example, by forming three-dimensionally, to provide not only a suspension mounting platform, but which can also be further configured, for example, by being further formed three-dimensionally to provide another platform 38 to which the assembly Backrest 24 can be mounted, and preferably mounted.
[0046] Said seat tray 28 with said mounting bracket 36 fixed thereto having a width W36 greater than one half of the narrowest width W28 of the seat tray 28 and length L36 greater than one half of the length L28 of the seat tray 28 helps to reinforce and structurally harden at least half of the seat tray 28, at least a part of the underlying seat tray 28 or that is part of the seat 46 of the seat 32, thus forming an assembly seat base 26 that produces a stronger seat 32, with more support and more comfortable. In addition, said stronger, stiffer and more supportive seat base assembly 26 may also include a motorcycle seat mounting arrangement to dampen vibration as described in more detail below and shown in Figures 3- 4 that not only reduces the transmission of vibration and noise from the motorcycle to the seat 32, but also helps reduce the magnitude of the forces on the suspension 22, such as potholes, shocks, bumps and the like that the motorcycle encounters when she drives.
[0047] Figure 3 illustrates a stage of the initial motorcycle seat assembly where a plurality of pairs, that is, at least three elastomeric insulators 56 to isolate and dampen vibration are each mounted in an insulator mounting seat 80 of respective recessed vibration formed on a lower side 82 of the seat tray 28. Each vibration insulating seat 80 includes a clamping surface 84 of the flat vibration insulator with an opening 86 therethrough which receives a mounting part or retention of a corresponding vibration insulator 56 seated in the seat 80, thereby connecting the insulator 56 to the tray 28. In some constructions, each vibration insulator 56 is made of an elastomeric or elastomeric material, such as natural rubber, synthetic rubber . Each vibration insulator 56 may have a generally cylindrical vibration isolator and / or damping body 90 from which a generally cylindrical mounting shaft 88 narrower or diametrically smaller, for example, with reduced section, extends outward. In the assembly, the mounting rod 88 of the insulator is inserted through the opening 86

of a mounting seat 80 of the corresponding insulator until a part extending radially outward, for example, a flange, of the insulating body 90 is held against or comes into contact with the holding surface 84 of the insulator by positioning the body 90 of each insulator 56 between the seat tray 28 and a part of the motorcycle chassis or frame, reducing or preventing direct contact between them during the use and operation of the motorcycle. When the assembly of the vibration isolators 56 to the seat tray 28 is completed, the vibration isolators 56 are part of a mounting arrangement, preferably a vibration damping mounting arrangement, used in mounting the seat 32 to the frame or motorcycle chassis that advantageously dampens vibration and / or absorbs shocks.
[0048] With further reference to Figure 4, at another stage of the assembly, the rear mounting bracket 50 of the seat is received in an anchorage niche 92 of the elongated and recessed mounting bracket (Figure 3) formed on the bottom surface 82 of the seat tray 28 and the support 50 is anchored by fasteners 94 to the anchor plate 52 of the generally diamond-shaped seat mounting bracket that adjoins a flat anchor plate surface 96 on an outer or upper surface 98 of the seat tray 28. When the connection of the rear seat mounting bracket 50 is completed, the bracket 50 is disposed on one side 82 of the seat tray 28 and the anchor plate 52 is disposed on an opposite side 98 of the seat tray 28 with seat tray 28 sandwiched between support 50 and plate 52.
[0049] Referring again to Figures 5-9, at another stage of the assembly, the suspension seat assembly and the support bracket 36 is formed of an elongated flat plate 34 resting against the outer or upper surface 98 of the seat tray 28 with the support 36 formed three-dimensionally so as to coincide complementary to the three-dimensional contour of the underlying concave part of the seat tray seat 28 that extends backwardly therefrom to and over the driver or passenger part of the seat tray 28. As best shown in Figure 5, the support 36 is mounted on the seat tray 28 using a plurality of abutment anchoring fasteners 100 that are spaced longitudinally along the support 36 and the abutment 30 of reinforcement of the tray provided by the support 36. In some constructions at least three fasteners 100 are provided, for example four as shown. In some constructions, all

abutment fasteners 100 are rivets, but they can be another type of fastener if desired, for example, a threaded fastener such as a screw, bolt or the like. As will be explained in more detail below, one of the fasteners 100 used to connect the support 36 to the seat tray 28 extends through the seat tray 28 and connects part of the support 36. If desired, one or more fasteners 100 can extend through the seat tray 28, through the support 36 and threadedly connect a retainer (not shown), such as a nut, for example, a threaded nut, washer, anchor plate or the like, externally arranged against the support 36 to mount the support 36 to the seat tray
28. Referring to Figure 5, each of the fasteners 100 extends through a hole in the seat tray 28 and connects (a) directly to the corresponding hole 102 formed in the support 36 extending through the support 36, or (b) extends through the hole 102 and connects an independent retainer, such as a nut, for example a threaded nut, washer, anchor plate or the like to connect the support 36 to the seat tray 28.
[0050] Still referring to Figure 5, one of the pillar anchoring fasteners 100 extends through a hole through the tray 28 and into or through the hole 102 in the pillar 30 of the support 36 adjacent to a rear end of the pillar 30 which is located at the rear of the mounting platform 38 of the backrest, thereby anchoring one end of the pillar 30 to the seat tray 28. A second fastener 100 extends through another hole through the seat tray 28 and / or the hole 102 in the pillar 30 between the mounting platform 38 of the backrest and the holding part 35 of the suspension of the support 36 from which the pillar 30 is formed thereby anchoring an intermediate part of the pillar 30 ( and the support 36) of the seat tray 28 which is located between the mounting platform 38 of the backrest and the support 35 of the suspension. A plurality of fasteners 100 extend respectively through a pair of longitudinally spaced holes in the seat tray 28 and / or holes 102 in the pillar 30 (and the support 36) adjacent to a front end of the pillar 30 (and the support 36) not only by anchoring a front part of the pillar 30 (and the support 36) to the seat tray 28 but also by mounting the tongue 48 of the seat assembly thereto. The front tongue 48 of the seat assembly is anchored directly to the tray 28 by another fastener 100 arranged in the front part of the pillar 30 (and the support 36), as also shown in Figure 5, which extends from one side of the seat tray 28 through a hole 104 in the seat tray 28 and which can be connected with a retainer 106 which can be or can include a

nut, washer, anchor plate or the like arranged at an opposite end of the seat tray 28.
[0051] Referring still to Figure 5, a cross-sectional slit 108 of the suspension space is formed in the seat tray 28 adjacent to a front end of the seat tray 28 that is underlying a retainer 110 of fixing and mounting of the generally straight, elongated and transversely oriented front suspension of a generally flat suspension fixing and mounting tab 115 arranged forward of the support 36 that forms part of the suspension fixing 42 and the suspension fastener 35. As best shown in Figures 5-8, the front suspension retainer 110 is formed of an elongated outer or front edge extending transversely of the tongue 115 defining a front suspension anchor 112 that is part of the retainer 110 of the suspension which is connected by, for example, engaged by, a front part of the seat suspension assembly 118 during the assembly and fixing of the suspension assembly 118. The suspension mounting tab 115 tilts upwardly and extends outwardly from a support segment 117 of the intermediate suspension (for example, a generally flat segment that generally extends horizontally) of the support 36 which is part of the mounting arrangement of the suspension 55 and the fastener 35 of the suspension of the support 36. In addition of the intermediate support segment 117 forming a base of the suspension fastener 35 and the mounting arrangement 55, the segment 11 7 of the intermediate support also forms part of the pillar 30 which extends along at least a part of the lower part of a generally concave underlying section 44 that supports the suspension and / or the operator of the seat tray 28 which is underlying and / or is part of the seat 46 of the seat 32 when the seat assembly is completed. As best shown in Figures 7-8, the forward mounting tongue 115 arranged forward extends outward in a direction from the intermediate support segment 117 and tilts upward in relation to the intermediate support segment 117 which forms an obtuse angle included with the tongue 115. Extending outwardly from the intermediate support segment 117 in a direction opposite to the tongue 115 is the rear segment 119 of the suspension fixing and mounting support which also tilts upwards in relationship with the intermediate support segment 117 also forming an obtuse angle included therewith. As best shown in Figures 7-8, the tongue 115, the intermediate support segment 117, and the rear support segment 119 collectively form a

The suspension 35 of the generally U-shaped suspension that supports the suspension 22 when the assembly and assembly of the seat suspension assembly 118 thereto is completed. As also shown in Figures 7-8, the segments 115, 117 and 119 of the support that form the fastener 35 of the suspension of the support 36 also coincide in a complementary manner or form a generally concave U-shaped section 44 of support to the suspension and / or underlying the operator of tray 28.
[0052] Referring to Figures 5-8, segment 119 of the rear mounting and mounting bracket of the suspension has a rear retaining flange 114 of the suspension that is part of the mounting 42 of the suspension that is elevated from the rest of the segment 119 of the rear support defining a suspension fixing pocket 116 releasably retaining part of the rear suspension assembly 118, for example, a beam 132 for mounting the rear suspension of the suspension assembly 118, in the pocket 116 during assembly and fixation of the suspension assembly 118. As best shown in Figure 7, the retaining flange 114 of the suspension also provides a suspension assembly guide that guides and helps facilitate the insertion of the beam 132 for mounting the suspension in pocket 116 during assembly of the suspension assembly 118 to attachment 42. After assembly, the mounting beam 132 is it is releasably retained in the pocket 116 and fixed by means of the flange 114 of the fastener 42 so that the beam 132 maintains a desired relative location and spacing from a rear part of the mounting arrangement 55 of the suspension, preparing the beam 132 to be fixed or immovably mounted to it in a stage of fixing or mounting the rear suspension assembly.
[0053] As described in more detail below, the screen 120 is under a lower initial amount of tension when the beam 132 is inserted into the pocket 116 and is fixed at a desired location and spacing from the rear of the arrangement of Mounting 55 of the suspension formed by the anchor pads 45 of the rear suspension and the adjacent part of the rear support and mounting bracket segment 119 arranged between the pads 45. During the subsequent stage of fixing or mounting, the beam 132 moves manually, adjacent to, and / or against the pads 45 and / or the part of the rear support segment 119 that extends between the pads 45 while fixed in the pocket 116 by the tab 114, increasing the tension of the screen 120 at a voltage greater than the initial set voltage amount, pre-charging additionally or pre

tensioning the screen 120. The beam 132 is then fixed or mounted to at least one of the anchor pads 45 (for example, a plurality of anchor pads 45) and / or a part of the rear support segment 119 disposed between the pads 45 thus establishing the final tension of the preload or pre-tensioning of the screen 120 at an amount of tension greater than the amount of tension initially set so that the screen 120 has a preload or preload voltage greater than the operating voltage of the minimum suspension and / or that falls within a range of operating voltage of the desired suspension.
[0054] Referring to Figures 6-8, screen 120 is suspended as a generally flat or flat hammock between a pair of spaced suspension mounts 122 and 124 that extend transversely in relation to a longitudinal extension of the seat tray 28 and which are located at opposite ends of the hatch of the suspension 120. The suspension mounts 122 and 124, which can be parallel, and members oriented transversely or extending transversely, are used to mount the hatch of the suspension 120 to the assembly from the base of the seat 26 of the motorcycle seat assembly 20 forming the motorcycle seat 32 when the assembly is finished. One of the mounts is a rear or front mount 124 that is or includes an elongated suspension beam 132 generally oriented transversely that is connected to the rear or front edge or the end of the hatch 120. The other of the mounts is a mount 122 front or rear suspension which is or includes an elongated J-hook and generally transversely oriented having a J or U-shaped channel or a hook that receives the suspension retainer 110 of the tongue 115 for fixing and mounting the suspension arranged on the front of the support 36.
[0055] With specific reference to Figure 6, the screen 120 of the suspension is made of a flexible elastomeric suspension fabric or mesh 126, such as an elastomeric mesh or fabric capable of supporting a load, consisting of one or more of the following flexible and resistant materials capable of withstanding a load: thread (s), filament (s) and / or fiber (s) capable of supporting a load made of an elastic thermoplastic material, such as polyether ester, polyester ester or other thermoplastic elastomer suitable as ETR HYTREL® Du Pont de Nemours & Co., Inc., ARNITEL® from Engineering Plastics B.V., or other fabric material or elastomeric suspension mesh capable of supporting a load such as a copolymer elastomer, a copolymer thermoplastic elastomer, a copolyester elastomer or a

thermoplastic copolyester elastomer. In some constructions, the weft 120 of the suspension is made of interwoven polyester fabric such as the DYMETROL® fabric available from Acme Mills of Detroit, Michigan, which is an elastomeric fabric construction.
[0056] Referring again to Figures 6-8 as previously indicated, one of the mounts 122 of the suspension of the fabric or elastic mesh suspension assembly 118, for example the front or front suspension assembly 122, is or includes a suspension mounting hook 128, such as a hook J 130 that engages around an elongated front or front end or edge extending transversely of the suspension mounting retainer 110 of the suspension mounting tab 115 which forms the front or most forward located segment of the suspension assembly and the support bracket 36 to which the seat suspension assembly 118 is fixed or mounted during motorcycle seat assembly. In addition, as previously indicated, the front or front edge of the fabric or mesh 126 of the weft suspension 120 of the suspension of the suspension assembly 118 is connected to the hook J 130 along a majority of (for example, more than 50 percent, more than 75 percent, or more than 90 percent) or along the entire length of the front or front edge of the mesh or fabric 126 of the frame 120. The mesh or fabric 126 and therefore the screen 120 it can be adhesively connected, stapled, sewn or otherwise connected to the hook J 130 in a way that fixes the front or front edge of the mesh or fabric 126 to the hook J 130 thereby connecting the front or front edge of the hatch 120 to the hook J
130.
[0057] As also shown in Figures 6-8, the rear or rear suspension assembly 124 of the seat suspension assembly 118 is or includes an elongated mounting beam 132 of the suspension that can be or serves as a mounting of rear suspension of the suspension assembly 118 which is also connected to a rear or rear edge of the screen 120 along a greater part of (for example, more than 50 percent, more than 75 percent, or more than 90 percent ) or the full length of the rear or rear edge of the mesh or fabric 126 of the screen 120. The beam 132 may be a rigid member and may be rectangular. In some constructions, beam 132 is made of a lightweight and durable material, such as polypropylene, carbon fiber composite material, or other suitable material. In addition to the beam 132 serving as a beam 132 for mounting a suspension that facilitates the mounting of the rear suspension assembly 118 to the base assembly of the seat 26, the

beam 132 can also function as a spring, for example, a leaf spring, which can help absorb, transfer or accommodate some of the forces to which seat 32 and suspension 22 are subjected, for example suspension assembly 118 mounted and / or in addition to the forces to which the screen 120 of the suspension is subjected, during the operation of the motorcycle due to the load of the driver or operator, the lateral and / or longitudinal accelerations due to potholes, shocks and the like and / or the vibration of the road and / or the chassis transferred to the beam 132 through the screen 120. The mesh or fabric 126 of the screen 120 can be adhesively connected, stapled, sewn or otherwise connected to the beam 132 of a shape that fixes the rear or rear edge of the suspension mesh or fabric 126 to the beam 132 thereby fixing the rear or rear edge of the hatch 120 to the beam 132.
[0058] In an exemplary method of assembling the motorcycle seat assembly 20, the hook J 130 of the seat suspension assembly 118 is first connected to the outer, front or front edge of the suspension retainer 110 of the tongue mounting tab 115 the suspension of the fixing 42 of the suspension of the support 36 before the suspension mounting beam 132 is re-manipulated by an installer that extends the hatch 120 outward towards the rear suspension assembly 125 by inserting the beam 132 in the pocket 116 for fixing the suspension. When inserting the beam 132 into the pocket 116, an outer edge or lip of the beam 132 is manually leveraged against the inner top edge or lip of the flange 114 in the manner illustrated in Figure 7 to use the flange 114 as a lever against the which force can be applied manually by the installer that holds the beam 132 to stretch the hatch 120 sufficiently so that the beam 132 can clear the flange 114 so that the beam 132 can be guided, for example, slideably guided, by the flange 114 in pocket 116.
[0059] When the beam 132 is received in the pocket 116 during assembly of the suspension assembly of the seat 118 to the attachment 42, the front or front end of the suspension assembly 118 is also assembled to the attachment 42 connecting with and thus fixing to the front suspension retainer 110 of the mounting tab of the suspension 115 of the fastener 42. When the beam 132 is inserted into the pocket 116, the hatch 120 is suspended between the beam 132 and the hook J 130 assembled in the fastener 42 , initially causing an amount of tension that will be applied to the screen 120 that is less than the pre-tensioned or the minimum desired pre-tensioned interval of operation of the suspension. When beam 132 is retained from

releasable form in pocket 116 and fixed thereto, beam 132 is positioned such that beam 132 overlaps the rear suspension assembly 125 and also spaces from the rear suspension assembly 125, preparing beam 132 to be fixed or mounted to assembly 125.
[0060] To fix or mount the beam 132 to the assembly 125, the beam 132 is manually forced towards and optionally against the assembly 125 by manually forcing the beam 132 towards and / or against the anchoring pads 45 and / or the adjacent part of the clamping 35 of the suspension of the support 35 arranged between the pads 45 that form the rear mount 125. When the beam 132 is forced towards and optionally against the rear suspension mount 125, the tension in the screen 120 increases by preloading or thus pre-tensioning the screen 120. Having forced beam 132 towards and optionally against rear suspension assembly 125, preloading or pre-tensioning screen 120, each of a plurality of suspension mounting fasteners 144 is inserted respectively through one of a plurality of corresponding holes 138 in the pad (s) 45 and the holes 140 in the portion of the support 36 between the pads 45 aligned with one of the holes 134 re spectives through the beam 132 to fix or mount the beam 132 to the seat base assembly 26. The number of fasteners 144 and the corresponding holes 134 may be at least three in some constructions, for example, four as shown, and holes 138, 140 can each be provided as a pair. The holes 134 in the beam 132 can be spaced along the entire beam 132 at uniform intervals, including a hole 134 adjacent to each end of the beam 132. A part of each of the fasteners 144 that extends respectively through one of the corresponding pairs of holes 134 and 138 aligned and / or 134 and 140, are connected by an anchor retainer 142 of the fastener, such as a washer, nut, for example, threaded nut, anchor plate or the like, anchoring the beam 132 against the pads 45 and the part of the support 36 disposed between the pads 45 fixing or mounting the beam 132 to the rear suspension assembly 125 formed therein.
[0061] As also shown in Figure 8, when the beam 132 is maneuvered or manipulated to insert the beam 132 into the pocket 116 between the retaining flange 114 and the underlying part of the rear segment 119 of the support during assembly of the assembly suspension of the seat 118 to the assembly of the base of the seat 26, the beam 132 is held in place in a releasable and / or movable manner by means of the retaining flange 114 allowing to perform

some repositioning and / or adjustment, for example in a transverse direction or from side to side, of the position of the beam 132 fixed to the pocket. When beam 132 is received in pocket 116, a suspension mounting fastener 144 is inserted through respective suspension mounting holes 138 in tray 28 (shown in Figure 6), and / or holes 140 of mounting the suspension on the support 36 (also shown in Figure 6) to fix and thus immovably anchor the beam 132 and the rear or rear end of the suspension assembly 118 and / or the rear or rear end of the mesh or fabric 126 of the suspension and / or screen 120 of the suspension to the pillar 30 and tray 28. As also illustrated in Figure 8, each of the fasteners 144 is inserted from one side of the seat tray 28 through of aligned series of holes 134 and 138 or 134 and 140, during the anchoring of the beam 132 to the tray 28 and is arranged in operational cooperation with an anchor retainer 142 of the fastener, in the form of for example a washer, nut, example, threaded nut, anchor plate aje or similar, located on the opposite side of the seat tray 28. In some constructions, each of the fasteners 144 is a rivet having a head 146, for example, a mandrel head, at one end disposed on one side of the seat tray 28 and / or the pillar 30 and an elongated rod or body 148, for example mandrel or bolt, which extends outwardly from the head 146 which extends through each of the corresponding series of aligned holes 134 and 138 or 134 and 140 and connect an anchor retainer 142 of the fastener as a washer, for example, ring washer, disposed on the opposite side of the seat tray 28 and / or the pillar 30 in the rear or rear end fixing from the suspension assembly 118 and the mesh or fabric 126 from the suspension to the tray 28 and the pillar 30.
[0062] When the beam 132 moves in a preload or pre-tensioned stage from its location fixed in the pocket 116 so that the beam 132 is superimposed and can be arranged against the pads 45 and / or the part of the support 36 that extends between the pads 45, an amount of displacement stretches and therefore increases the tension of the screen 120 from its initial lower set amount of tension to an amount of final tension that is at least as large as a suspension pre-tension threshold no minimum load
or that falls within a pre-tension range of the suspension without acceptable load. The amount of displacement may be at least 0.31 cm (1/8 inches) in some constructions (for example, at least 0.15 cm (1/4 inch) or at least 1.27 cm (1/2 inch) ).

[0063] Understandably, the present invention has been described above in terms of one or more preferred embodiments and methods. It is recognized that various alternatives and modifications may be made to these embodiments and methods that are within the scope of the present invention. Various alternatives are contemplated as within the scope of the 5 claims of the present invention. It is also understood that, although the above description and drawings describe and illustrate in detail one or more preferred embodiments of the present invention, for those skilled in the art to which the present invention relates, the present description will suggest many modifications and constructions. , in addition to embodiments and applications that differ widely without therefore departing from the intention
10 and scope of the invention.
