At the moment diverse species of insects are known that inhabit nests constructed in outer zones and frequently to a high height.
Some of these insects are harmful to the ecosystem, which advises the control and reduction of its population. Specifically, the Asian wasp '; Vespa velutina': it spreads throughout Europe causing great damage to the population of bees from which they feed, until they disappear from some areas.
Bees in the presence of this wasp do not dare to leave their nest, which prevents them from contributing to the pollination of flowers; affecting the ecosystem in a very negative way.
Another option is the spraying of the nest using pesticidal or biocidal substances; This product has to be a few days for the largest number of wasps to get impregnated, causing their death; and after this time the nest is removed. The method of combating harmful insects, object of the invention, has particularities oriented to allow the firing of a pesticide towards the nest and to ensure that said pesticide does not stay outside the nest, but rather penetrates into the nest, and begins defrost immediately, completely impregnating the inside of the nest after several shots, guaranteeing the extermination of the insect colony. This guarantees, in addition, the safety of the operator who can shoot successfully many meters away, without having to climb the tree or at the height where these nests are usually located, avoiding with this method damages of the operator from falls, by pecks of these insects or electrocutions on contact with the electric cables that are produced with the use of metal poles.
To achieve these objectives the method of the invention comprises the following steps:
a) the provision of a mold with projectile-shaped cavities; b) the pouring into the cavities of the mold of a peslicidal liquid suitable for the type of insects to combat,
c) freezing of the pesticide liquid poured into the mold cavities,
d) the extraction of frozen pesticide shells, from
mold cavities;
e) firing frozen pesticide shells inwards
of the nest and;
f) the distribution of the pesticide liquid inside the nest during the
progressive defrosting of projectiles at temperature
ambient.
It is envisioned that the firing of frozen pesticide projectiles can be carried out, for example, by means of a compressed gas shotgun, similar to the plotters used in paintball, in which its pressure can be regulated so that the projectile penetrates the nest wall but do not cross the next wall, and they have a barrel of a certain section.
