SYSTEM FOR REGISTRATION OF MEDICAMENTS The present disclosure relates to a system for registration of medicament usage in particular registration of medicament usage in breeding of livestock, such as pigs, cattle, poultry, fish etc, e.g. for treatment of livestock.
BACKGROUND Breeding of livestock for consumption inevitably includes the risk of the animals catching illness requiring medical treatment, such as, but not limited to, prescription of antibiotics. When bred for the purpose of consumption, e.g. by humans, it is therefore important to avoid remnants of medicaments in the meat when sold to the consumer. Furthermore, there is an increased focus in reducing the amount of medicament used for livestock, e.g. to decrease the risk of spreading of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
In some countries, it is a requirement by law to register prescription, delivery and use of medicaments for livestock. However, a lot of these registrations, in particular the registration of use, is still done by pen and paper, and only to the extent sufficient to comply with the minimum legal requirements. A main reason for this may be absence of a digital alternative that, for the person administering the medicament, is easier and more time efficient to use than pen and paper.
Registration by pen and paper have some downsides. For example, the filled registration form may be stored for documentation purposes if the authorities request to see documentation for the usage of an amount of medicament. Thus, the information of medicament usage is only available upon specific request.
> SUMMARY It is an object of the present disclosure to provide a method and a system for easy digital registration of medicament usage in livestock, such as to facilitate a digital and standardized registration of medicament usage in livestock. The disclosure seeks to reduce at least some of the problems with conventional methods of registering medicament usage, e.g. as stipulated above.
DK 2021 70014 A1 2 It is a further object of the present disclosure to provide a system facilitating registration of medicament administered to an animal from birth to the meat of the animal is sold to the consumer. It is a further object of the present disclosure to provide a system making the registration of medicament usage easier, such as to make it more beneficial for the person administering the medicament to use the provided system for digital registration, e.g. instead of pen and paper. Thereby, the disclosed system may facilitate the digital registration. Digital registration of medicament use provides several advantages. For example, a — digitalization of the registration of medicament use may allow for enabling trace of medicament usage for groups of animals or individual animals, e.g. since all information may be made available, it may be possible to track back when and with what medicament a particular animal or group of animals was treated. Furthermore, with digitalization of the registration, it may be possible to increase the credibility of a promotional claim with regards to medicament usage (or absence of the same) for a particular animal or group of animals. Furthermore, risks of not complying with withholding periods may be reduced.
Also, digital registration of the medicament use allows for better statistical analyses, e.g. potentially facilitating predictive algorithms.
Thus, the present disclosure relates to a method for registering medicament usage in livestock breeding, such as for treatment of livestock, and an associate electronic device and system.
Accordingly, a method for registration of medicament usage in livestock breeding, e.g. for treatment of livestock, is disclosed. The method comprises: at a local electronic device with a display and at least one input mechanism: determining a location indicative of a plurality of animals; retrieving primary data from a remote database based on the location, the remote database being stored on a remote server; identifying an animal identifier being indicative of one or more animals, e.g. including a primary animal, of the plurality of animals on the location; displaying on the display a plurality of diagnoses based on the primary data; receiving a first user input, e.g. from a primary user, such as a farmer, indicative of selection of a diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses; displaying on the display a dosage amount of a medicament type to be given to the one or more animals, the dosage amount and the medicament
DK 2021 70014 A1 3 type being based on the diagnosis; receiving a second user input indicative of the primary user confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals; and in response to receiving the second user input updating a treatment log, wherein updating the treatment log comprises registering a time stamp, the one or more animals, the dosage amount, and the medicament type in the treatment log. Also disclosed is a local electronic device with a display and at least one input mechanism. The local electronic device is configured to perform a method according to the disclosed method.
Also disclosed is a system for registration of medicament usage in livestock breeding, e.g. for treatment of livestock. The system comprises a remote server storing a remote database; and a local electronic device with a display and at least one input mechanism. The remote server is configured to receive first primary data from a secondary user. The first primary data is associated with a first plurality of diagnoses of a first plurality of animals on a first location. The remote server may be configured to receive second primary data from the secondary user. The second primary data may be associated with a second plurality of diagnoses of a second plurality of animals on a second location.
The local electronic device is configured to: determine a location indicative of a plurality of animals; retrieve primary data from the remote database based on the location, in accordance with the location being the first location retrieving the primary data comprises retrieving the first primary data, in accordance with the location being the second location retrieving the primary data comprises retrieving the second primary data; identify an animal identifier being indicative of one or more animals, e.g. including a primary animal, of the plurality of animals on the location; display on the display a plurality of diagnoses based on the primary data; receive a first user input, e.g. from a primary user, such as a farmer, indicative of selection of a diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses; display on the display a dosage amount of a medicament type to be given to the one or more animals, the dosage amount and the medicament type being based on the diagnosis; receive a second user input indicative of the primary user confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals; and in response to receiving the second user input update a treatment log, wherein updating the treatment log comprises register a time stamp,
DK 2021 70014 A1 4 the one or more animals, the dosage amount, and the medicament type in the treatment log. It is envisaged that any embodiments or elements as described in connection with any one aspect may be used with any other aspects or embodiments, mutatis mutandis.
The one or more input mechanism of the local electronic device may comprise a microphone, a touch sensor, and/or a camera. The display of the local electronic device may be a touch-sensitive display, e.g. an input mechanism of the one or more input mechanism, such as a touch sensor, may be an integral part of the display. The local electronic device may comprise a loudspeaker. The local electronic device may comprise a data interface, such as a wireless transceiver, e.g. according to an established data transmission standard (or de-facto standard), such as Bluetooth, WiFi, or LTE. The local electronic device may comprise a processing unit. The local electronic device may comprise memory.
Primary data, such as the primary data retrieved from the remote database, may comprise information of diagnoses. The primary data may comprise information of treatments prescribed for respective diagnoses, such as dosage amount and medicament type to be administered to an animal with the respective diagnose. The Primary data may be indicative one or more of diagnosis data, medicament data, dosage data, treatment data etc.
Hence, while the illness of livestock may be identified and registered by a veterinarian, it is an advantage of the present disclosure that by automatically retrieving data regarding treatments including medicament dosages from a database provided with inputs from the veterinarian prescribing the treatments and medicament, the burden of registering medicament usage is reduced. Hence, the system aides the user to save both time and interactions, necessary to register the medicament usage.
For the consumer what medicament and in what amounts an animal has received certain medicaments may be of more importance than whether the animal has been ill or not. Hence, in aiding the registration of medicament usage, and not only relying on registration of illness, enhanced information of medicament usage may be obtained, for the benefit of the consumer. Furthermore, it is noted that most often the person prescribing the treatments, e.g. a veterinarian, and the person performing the treatment, e.g. a farmer, are not the same. Hence, conventionally information of
DK 2021 70014 A1 prescriptions and information of treatments are registered (if registered at all) in separate systems by separate persons. It is a further advantage of the present disclosure, that a method and a system for registration of medicament usage is provided, which is easy to use and provide for 5 fast and convenient registration of the medicament used. For example, retrieving data specific to the location from a remote server reduces the number of inputs that the user needs to provide in order to register the medicament administered. It is a further advantage of the present disclosure, that the remote server from which data is retrieved to the local electronic device, is a remote server where a secondary user, SUCh as a veterinarian provides data regarding diagnoses and associated treatments specific for individual farms. Thereby the secondary user only needs to provide data one time, e.g. to the remote server or to a separate system in communication with the remote server. It is a further advantage of the present disclosure, that registration of medicament usage in livestock may be validated to a higher degree, e.g. the registration performed by the primary user, e.g. the farmer, may be validated against registrations performed by veterinarians, medicament vendors etc. For example, by facilitating collection of inputs from veterinarians, vendors and farmers in a single system, e.g. the remote database, it may be validated that the actual usage of medicament balances the supply of medicament. Determining the location may comprise determining an approximate geographical location, e.g. based on one or more location services on the local electronic device. The one or more location services may comprise satellite positioning (e.g. GPS, GLONAS, Galileo). The one or more location services may comprise WiFi triangulation.
Determining an approximate geographical location may be based on a combination of a plurality of the one or more location services. The approximate geographical location may be indicative of the location. The location may be a farm. For example, the approximate geographical location may be in the form of coordinates. Geographical coordinates of a farm may be known, e.g. geographical coordinates of farms may be stored in the database on the remote server. Hence, knowing the approximate geographical location may be used to determine the location, such as a farm, where the local electronic device is presently located. The location, such as a farm, may be identified and optionally coupled to a geographical location, with a central registration
DK 2021 70014 A1 6 number. Thus, the location may be received from the remote database based on the approximate geographical location.
Primary data may be retrieved from the remote database based on the location. For example, in accordance with the location being a first location retrieving the primary data may comprise retrieving first primary data, and in accordance with the location being a second location retrieving the primary data may comprise retrieving second primary data.
One or more animals of the plurality of animals, such as an individual animal, or two animals, or three animals or four animals, or between five and ten animals may be identified by the animal identifier. The animal identifier may comprise a number, a QR-code, a bar code, an RFID tag, and/or NFC tag. The animal identifier may be indicative of an individual animal of the one or more animals. Alternatively or additionally, the animal identifier may be indicative of a sty with more than one animal. The animal identifier may be located on the animal, such as in the ear (e.g.
the animal identifier may be an ear tag) and/or on the back of the animal (e.g. the animal identifier may be a number written on the back of the animal).
The remote server and/or the remote database may comprise a server-side copy of the treatment log. For example, the treatment log may be uploaded to the remote server and/or the remote database. The remote server and/or the remote database may be configured to derive parameters related to the medicament usage at the location based on the treatment log, such as the server-side copy of the treatment log.
A treatment log update, e.g. based on the treatment log, may be transmitted to the remote server and/or remote dataset, e.g. to update the server-side copy of the treatment log, e.g. the method may comprise transmitting the treatment log update to the remote server and/or to the remote database. The local electronic device may be configured to transmit the treatment log update to the remote server and/or the remote database. The remote server and/or the remote database may be configured to receive the treatment log update from the local electronic device.
The method and/or the system and/or the local electronic device may be adapted to reduce the necessity of communicating with the remote server, such as to avoid necessary communication when the local electronic device is at location with little or no internet connection. For example, retrieving primary data may be performed at a
DK 2021 70014 A1 7 first moment in time. The first moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight. Alternatively or additionally, the first moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network. For example, retrieving primary data may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established. The local electronic device may store a local copy of dosage information obtainable by retrieval of the primary data. Retrieving of primary data may be performed when network connectivity allows a reliable connection to the remote server, in order to update the local copy of the dosage information.
Transmitting the treatment log and/or the treatment log update may be performed at a second moment in time. The second moment in time may be the first moment in time. The second moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight. Alternatively or additionally, the second moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network. For example, transmitting the treatment log and/or the treatment log update may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established.
The remote server and/or the remote database may comprise repository data. The repository data may be indicative of information of a total amount of medicament types, including the medicament type, on the location. The repository data may be indicative of information of a total amount of each medicament type on the location. For example, the repository data may be indicative of information of the amount of each medicament type that has been delivered and the amount of each medicament type that has been used. For example, the repository data may be indicative of information of the amount of each medicament type that has been delivered minus the amount of each medicament type that has been used.
The repository data may be retrieved, e.g. by the local electronic device, from the remote database and/or the remote server. For example, repository data may be retrieved based on the location. The local electronic device may be configured to retrieve the repository data, such as repository data based on the location, from the remote database and/or the remote server. For example, in accordance with the location being a first location retrieving the repository data may comprise retrieving first repository data, and in accordance with the location being a second location retrieving the repository data may comprise retrieving second repository data.
DK 2021 70014 A1 8 A client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location based on the repository data may be obtained, e.g. on the local electronic device.
The client-side copy may be used on the local electronic device, e.g. temporarily, to limit the necessity of being able to establish a connection to the remote server and/or the remote database.
Retrieving the repository data may be performed at a third moment in time.
The third moment in time may be the second moment in time and/or the first moment in time.
The third moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight.
Alternatively or additionally, the third moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network.
For example, transmitting the treatment log and/or the treatment log update may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established.
The information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, such as the repository data, may be updated, e.g. by reducing the total amount of the medicament type with the dosage amount of the medicament type given to the one or more animals.
For example, the remote server and/or the remote database may be configured to update the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, such as the repository data, based on the treatment log and/or the treatment log update.
Alternatively or additionally, in response to receiving the second user input, e.g. indicative of the primary user confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals, the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location may be updated, e.g. by reducing the total amount of the medicament type with the dosage amount of the medicament type given to the one or more animals.
A repository update, e.g. based on the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, may be transmitted to the remote server and/or the remote database, such as to update a server-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, e.g. to update the repository data.
Transmitting the repository update may be performed at a fourth moment in time.
The fourth moment in time, may be the third moment in time and/or the second moment in time and/or the first moment in time.
The fourth moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight.
Alternatively or additionally, the fourth moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network.
For example, transmitting information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location and/or the repository update may be initiated at
DK 2021 70014 A1 9 certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established. The second user input is indicative of a confirmation by the primary user of giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals. In some situations not all of the one or more animals are given the medicament. The second user input may be indicative of a number of animals of the one or more animals being given the dosage amount of the medicament type. Thereby, the user may indicate with the second user input that a subset of the one or more animals are given the medicament. Thereby also indicating the number of dosages of the medicament that has been used. Updating the treatment log may further comprise registering the number of animals of the one or more animals being given the dosage amount of the medicament type. The treatment log may also comprise a user identifier, e.g. a unique user identification number or user name, of the primary user, e.g. the operating the local electronic device. The primary user may be identified by the local electronic device by being required to log in before being able to operate the local electronic device for registering medicament usage. The user identifier may be used to allow registration of the user confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals.

Fig. 2 shows a schematic illustration of a system 2, such as a system 2 for registration of medicament usage, such as medicament used for livestock, such as pigs, cattle, poultry, or fish. The system 2 may be used to register medicament usage in a farm, such as exemplified in relation to Fig. 1.
The system 2 may allow for registering the administering of medicament such as to fulfil government requirements, to limit or at least decrease the risk of animals being processed within a retention period to avoid residues of medicament in meat sold to the consumer, and/or to prove the medicament usage during the production of specific pieces of meat sold to the consumer.
The system 2 comprises a remote server 100. The remote server stores a remote database 102.
DK 2021 70014 A1 11 The remote server 100 is configured to receive primary data 22; 24 from a secondary user 20. The remote server 100 may be configured to store the received primary data 22; 24 and/or data based on the received primary data 22; 24 in the remote database
102. The secondary user 20 may be a veterinarian, e.g. ordinating medicine to a plurality of animals, such as a farm. The remote server 100 is configured to receive first primary data 22 and/or second primary data 24 from the secondary user 20. The remote server 100 may further be configured to receive primary data from other users, such as other veterinarians. The primary data 22; 24 may be stored in the remote database 102.
The first primary data 22 may be associated with a first plurality of diagnoses of a first plurality of animals on a first location. For example, the first primary data may be associated with diagnoses of animals on a farm operated by a first primary user 10. The second primary data 24 may be associated with a second plurality of diagnoses of a second plurality of animals on a second location. For example, the second primary data may be associated with diagnoses of animals on a farm operated by a second primary user (not shown).
Primary data 22, 24 may comprise diagnoses and treatments prescribed for the respective diagnoses. The secondary user 20 may prescribe treatments for individual animals. However, alternatively or additionally, the secondary user 20 may prescribe treatments applicable for a plurality of animals, such as an entire farm. In such case, the farmer, e.g. the primary user 10, may treat animals exhibiting signs of a diagnosis in accordance with the prescribed treatment.
The remote server 100 may be further configured to receive primary data 32; 34 from another secondary user 30. The remote server 100 may be configured to store the received primary data 32; 34 and/or data based on the received primary data 32; 34 in the remote database 102. The other secondary user 20 may be a pharmacy, or other vendor of medicaments, e.g. distributing medicaments to the plurality of animals, such as the farm. The remote server 100 is configured to receive first primary data 32 and/or second primary data 34 from the other secondary user 30.
The primary data 32; 34 may be stored in the remote database 102.
The first primary data 32 from the other secondary user 30 may be associated with a first plurality of diagnoses of a first plurality of animals on the first location. For example, the first primary data may be associated with diagnoses of animals on the farm operated by the first primary user 10. The second primary data 24 may be
DK 2021 70014 A1 12 associated with a second plurality of diagnoses of a second plurality of animals on the second location.
For example, the second primary data may be associated with diagnoses of animals on the farm operated by the second primary user (not shown). Thus, the remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 may comprise information pertaining to the complete supply of medicaments for the first plurality of animals on the first location and/or for the second plurality of animals on the second location.
The remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 may alternatively or additionally comprise general information pertaining to the first plurality of animals and/or the second plurality of animals.
For example, the remote server 100 and/or the remote server 102 may comprise central registration numbers for the first and/or second plurality of animals.
Additionally or alternatively, the remote server 100 and/or the remote server 102 may comprise age registrations for one or more animals of the first plurality of animals and/or for one or more animals of the second plurality of animals.
The remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 may alternatively or additionally comprise general information pertaining to the secondary user 20, such as a government issued authorisation number.
The remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 may alternatively or additionally comprise general information pertaining to medicaments, such as item numbers, advised dosages, retention periods, illnesses, etc.
The system 2 comprises a local electronic device 200 with a display 202 and at least one input mechanism, e.g. for receiving user input(s), such as a microphone 204, a touch sensor 206, and/or a camera 208. The display 202 may be a touch-sensitive display, i.e. the touch sensor 206 may be an integral part of the display 202. The local electronic device 200 may further comprise a loudspeaker 210. The local electronic device 200 may comprise a data interface 212, such as a wireless transceiver, e.g. according to an established data transmission standard (or de-facto standard), such as Bluetooth, WiFi, or LTE.
The local electronic device 200 may comprise a processing unit 214 and memory 216. The local electronic device 200 is configured to determine a location indicative of a plurality of animals, such as a farm.
The primary user 10 may input details of the farm manually.
However, alternatively or additionally, the location may be determined
DK 2021 70014 A1 13 more or less automatically. For example, the location, such as the farm, may be determined based on determination of an approximate geographical location based on one or more location services on the local electronic device 200. For example, the local electronic device 200 may receive a satellite positioning signal 18, e.g. from a satellite positioning service, such as GPS, GLONAS, or Galileo. Alternatively or additionally, the local electronic device 200 may utilize WiFi triangulation to determine an approximate geographical location. The geographical coordinates of a farm may be known, and hence, knowing the approximate geographical location may be used to determine the farm where the local electronic device is presently located.
The local electronic device 200 is configured to retrieve primary data 222 from the remote database based on the location, e.g. based on the details provided about the farm, e.g. coordinates, registration number of a central business register, etc. For example, in accordance with the location being the first location, corresponding to the first primary data 22 received by the remote server 100 from the secondary user 20, the retrieved primary data 222 corresponds to the first primary data 22. In an alternative example, in accordance with the location being the second location, corresponding to the second primary data 24 received by the remote server 100 from the secondary user 20, the retrieved primary data 222 corresponds to the second primary data 24.
The local electronic device 200 may store a local copy of dosage information obtainable by retrieval of the primary data 222. Hence, retrieving of primary data 222 may be performed when network connectivity allows a reliable connection to the remote server 100, in order to update the local copy of the dosage information.
The retrieving of primary data 222 may be performed at a first moment in time, e.g. a set time every day, such as at midnight, and/or dependent on connectivity. For example, retrieving primary data 222 may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established.
The local electronic device 200 is configured to identify an animal identifier 44. The animal identified 44 is indicative of one or more animals of the plurality of animals on the location. For example, the animal identifier 44 may comprise a number, a QR- code, a bar code, an RFID tag, and/or an NFC tag. The animal identifier 44 may be indicative of an individual animal, such as a specific individual animal, alternatively, the animal identifier 44 may be indicative of more than one animals, such as a sty
DK 2021 70014 A1 14 comprising a number of animals.
The animal identifier 44 may provide an identification signal 16, such as an electronic identification signal and/or a visual identification signal.
The local electronic device 200 is configured to receive a first user input 12, e.g. from the primary user 10. The primary user 10, e.g. the farmer, may diagnose an illness in an animal, e.g. based on indicators provided by the secondary user 20. The primary user 10 is able to treat diagnoses for which the secondary user 20 has ordinated a treatment.
The ordinated treatments are stored on the remote server by the secondary user 20 transmitting primary data 22; 24, to the remote server.
Thus, the local electronic device 200 is able to compile a list of a plurality of diagnoses based on the primary data 222 retrieved from the remote server.
The primary user 10 selects a diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses based on the primary data 222. The first user input 12 is indicative of the selection of the diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses.
For example, the secondary user 20 may have ordinated a certain medicament in a certain amount for animals on the farm suffering from pneumonia.
This provided in the primary data 22; 24 received at the remote server from the secondary user 20. The local electronic device 200 retrieves primary data 222 from the remote server indicative of the information that animals being recognised with pneumonia at the farm is to be treated with the certain medicament in the certain amount.
Thus, on the list of selectable diagnoses at the specific farm, being generated by the local electronic device 200 based on the retrieved primary data 222, pneumonia will be a possible selection.
When the primary user 10 identifies an animal suffering from pneumonia, he selects pneumonia from the list of plurality of diagnoses by the first input 12. After having received the first input 12 being indicative of selection of the diagnosis, the local electronic device 200 displays on the display 202 a dosage amount of a medicament type to be given to the one or more animals.
The dosage amount and the medicament type being displayed is based on the selected diagnosis.
The dosage amount and the medicament type may be based on the retrieved primary data 222 from the remote server 100, e.g. since the selected diagnosis (and the corresponding treatment) is selected from the plurality of diagnoses based on the retrieved primary data 222. After having displayed the dosage amount and medicament type, the local electronic device 200 is configured to receive a second user input 14 indicative of the primary user 10 confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or
DK 2021 70014 A1 15 more animals. For example, the primary user 100 gives the dosage amount of the medicament type in accordance with what is being displayed on the display. Giving the medicament may include injection of the medicament or orally distributing the medicament e.g. with fodder. In order to confirm having given the medicament to the one or more animals, the primary user 10 provides the second user input 14 on the local electronic device. The second user input 14 may involve pressing a button on a touch-sensitive display.
The second user input 14 may also be indicative of a number of animals of the one or more animals that have been given the dosage amount of the medicament type. For example, the animal identifier 44 may be indicative of a pigsty containing a plurality of pigs. However, for example, only a subset of the pigs in the pigsty is identified with the diagnosis, and therefore only a subset of the pigs is treated with the dosage amount of the medicament type. Thus, the primary user 10 may indicate with the second user input 14 how many animals he has treated.
In response to receiving the second user input, the local electronic device 200 updates a treatment log. The treatment log may be a record of any treatment provided at the farm. Updating the treatment log comprise registration in the treatment log of a time stamp, e.g. current date and local time of day. Updating the treatment log also comprises registration in the treatment log of the one or more animals (identified by the animal identifier 44), as well as the dosage amount and the medicament type in accordance with the displayed dosage amount and medicament type. The number of animals treated, e.g. if only a subset of the one or more animals are treated, may also be registered in the treatment log.
A server-side copy of the treatment log may be stored on the remote server 100, such asin the remote database 102 on the remote server 100. The local electronic device 200 may be configured to transmit a treatment log update 224 to the remote server 100, such as to update the server-side copy of the treatment log. The remote server 100 may be configured to receive the treatment log update 224 from the local electronic device 200.
Transmittal of the treatment log update 224 may be performed at a second moment in time. The second moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight. Alternatively or additionally, the second moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network. For example, transmittal of the treatment log update 224 may be initiated at certain time intervals,
DK 2021 70014 A1 16 but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server 100 cannot be reliably established. The second moment in time may be the same as the first moment in time, i.e. transmittal of the treatment log update 224 and retrieving primary data 222 may be performed at the same time.
The local electronic device 200 may be configured to retrieve repository data 226 from the remote server 100, such as from the remote database 102 stored on the remote server 100. The repository data 226 retrieved may be based on the location, e.g. the repository data 226 may be applicable for a specific farm. The repository data 226 is indicative of information of a total amount of each medicament type on the location.
For example, the repository data 226 is indicative of information of a total amount of the medicament type, such as a first medicament type. The local electronic device 200 is configured to obtain a client-side copy of the information of the total amount of each medicament type on the location based on the repository data 226. Obtaining the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of each medicament type may comprise updating an existing client-side copy in accordance with the retrieved repository data 226 and/or forming a new client-side copy in accordance with the retrieved repository data 226.
The retrieving of repository data 226 may be performed at a third moment in time. The third moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight.
Alternatively or additionally, the first moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network. For example, retrieving repository data 226 may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server cannot be reliably established. The third moment in time may be the same as the second moment in time may and/or the first moment in time, i.e. retrieving repository data 226, transmittal of the treatment log update 224, and/or retrieving primary data 222 may be performed at the same time.
The local electronic device may be configured to update the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, in response to receiving the second user input 14. Updating the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location may include reducing the total amount of the medicament type with the dosage amount of the medicament type given to the one or more animals. Thus, the client-side copy of the information of the
DK 2021 70014 A1 17 total amount of each medicament type may be updated regularly to provide a reliable estimate of the medicament available at the farm.
The local electronic device 200 may be configured to transmit a repository update 228 to the remote server 100. The remote server 100 may be configured to receive a repository update from the local electronic device 200. The repository update 228 may be based on the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location.
Alternatively or additionally, the repository update 228 may be indicative of the reduction of the total amount of the medicament type corresponding to the dosage amount of the medicament type given to the one or more animals.
For example, the repository update may comprise the treatment log or be based on the treatment log.
The repository update 228 may be transmitted to the remote server 100 to update a server-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location, e.g. to update the server-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type to correspond to the client- side copy of the same.
The server-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type may form the basis for the repository data 226 retrieved by the local electronic device.
Transmittal of the repository update 228 may be performed at a fourth moment in time.
The fourth moment in time may be a set time every day, such as at midnight.
Alternatively or additionally, the fourth moment in time may be dependent on connectivity, such as signal strength of WiFi or cellular network.
For example, transmittal of the repository update 228 may be initiated at certain time intervals, but may be halted and/or aborted if connection to the remote server 100 cannot be reliably established.
The fourth moment in time may be the same as the third moment in time, the second moment in time, and/or the first moment in time, i.e. transmitting the repository update 228, retrieving repository data 226, transmittal of the treatment log update 224, and/or retrieving primary data 222 may be performed at the same time.
Other interested parties may be granted access to the data or part of the data available on the remote server 100. For example, a meat processing company 300 may access the data of the remote data base 102 in order to certify that the meat being processed and sold complies with regulations and possible labelling.
A consumer 302 may also be granted access to the data or part of the data available on the remote server 100. For example, the consumer 302 may obtain a unique
DK 2021 70014 A1 18 identifier, e.g. a QR code, from the meat he/she has bought in the local super market and based on this identifier the consumer 302 may retrieve data from the remote database 102 indicative of medicament given to the animal from which the meat originates. In this way, the consumer is able to verify whether the meat he/she has bought complies with requirements for a particular labelling or similar.
Fig. 3 shows a schematic illustration of a system 2’, similar to the system 2 as described in relation to Fig. 2, with the modification that the secondary users 20; 30 indirectly provides primary data 22;24;32;34 to the remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 by providing primary data 22;24;32;34 to secondary user databases 104; 106, e.g. located on secondary user servers. The remote server 100 and/or the remote database 102 is configured to receive primary data 22’;24’;32';34’ from the secondary user databases 104; 106. For example, the secondary user database 104 may be a database storing data pertaining to medicament ordination from a plurality of veterinarians. The secondary user database 106 may be a database storing data pertaining to medicament supply from a plurality of medicament vendors. Thus, veterinarians and/or medicament vendors may register medicament ordination and/or supply in their own respective systems, and the remote server 100 and the remote database 102 may receive and combine these data. Fig. 4 shows a flow chart of an exemplary method 500, e.g. for registration of medicament usage in livestock breeding, e.g. for treatment of livestock. The method may be performed at a local electronic device with a display and at least one input mechanism. The method 500 comprises determining 502 a location, e.g. based on one or more location services on the local electronic device, indicative of a plurality of animals, such as a farm. The method optionally comprises retrieving 526 repository data from the remote database stored on the remote server. The repository data may be based on the location. The repository data may be indicative of information of a total amount of the
DK 2021 70014 A1 19 medicament type on the location. The method may further comprise obtaining 528 a client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location based on the repository data. Retrieval 526 of repository data may be performed before, after or simultaneously with retrieval 504 of primary data.
The method 500 comprises identifying 506 an animal identifier being indicative of one or more animals of the plurality of animals on the location. For example, an animal identifier may be a QR-code indicative of a sty with 10 pigs.
The method 500 comprises displaying 507, e.g. on the display of the local electronic device, a plurality of diagnoses based on the primary data.
The method 500 comprises receiving 508 a first user input indicative of selection of a diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses. For example, a primary user may select a diagnosis of the plurality of diagnoses by providing a first user input, e.g. a touch input.
The method 500 comprises displaying 510, e.g. on the display of the local electronic device, a dosage amount of a medicament type to be given to the one or more animals. The dosage amount and the medicament type is based on the diagnosis, such as the diagnosis selected by the primary user with the first user input received
508.
The method comprises receiving 512 a second user input indicative of the primary user confirming giving the dosage amount of the medicament type to the one or more animals. The second user input received 512 may be indicative of a number of animals of the one or more animals being given the dosage amount of the medicament type. The method comprises in response to receiving 512 the second user input updating 514 a treatment log. Updating 514 the treatment log comprises registering 516 a time stamp in the treatment log, registering 518 the one or more animals in the treatment log, registering 520 the dosage amount in the treatment log, and registering 522 the medicament type in the treatment log. Updating 514 the treatment log may further comprise registering 534 the number of animals of the one or more animals being given the dosage amount of the medicament type.
Optionally, in response to receiving 512 the second user input, the method may comprise updating 530 the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location. For example, by reducing the total amount of
DK 2021 70014 A1 20 the medicament type with the dosage amount of the medicament type given to the one or more animals.
The method optionally comprises transmitting 524 a treatment log update based on the treatment log to the remote server, e.g. such as to update a server-side copy of the treatment log. Transmitting 524 the treatment log update may be performed at a second moment in time. For example, transmitting 524 the treatment log update may not need to be performed constantly.
The method optionally comprises transmitting 532 a repository update based on the client-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location to the remote server, such as to update a server-side copy of the information of the total amount of the medicament type on the location. Transmittal 532 of the repository update may be performed before, after or simultaneously with transmitting 524 the treatment log update.
