Prefabricated bathtub
AND PROCEDURE FOR MANUFACTURING SUCH A BATHROOM
The present invention relates to a prefabricated bathtub constructed by box-shaped wall elements and to a method of making such a bathtub.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In connection with the production of prefabricated bathrooms / bath cabinets, it is a usual method to build walls of steel cassettes, which are then mounted with plasterboard exterior and with tiles inside. The exterior plasterboard serves both to stiffen the structure and to insulate the cabin. However, a bathtub constructed in this way is relatively heavy, and the interior tile cladding is very labor intensive and therefore relatively expensive to perform.
Brief description of the invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a bathtub and a method of making such a bathtub which accommodates the aforementioned disadvantages of the prior art in the art.
The present invention relates to a prefabricated bathtub wherein the walls and ceiling are constructed by box-shaped elements which are closed on the side facing the bathtub and open on the side facing away from the bathtub, the elements on the side which facing the bath, is covered with plasterboard.
When coating the interior surfaces of the bathtub with plasterboard, it is achieved that these surfaces can be painted. This can save the cost of installing tiles, while reducing the weight of the cabin. The use of box-shaped elements ensures that all or at least virtually all installations, among other things in the form of wires and pipes, can be hidden in walls and ceilings.
In one embodiment of the invention, the elements are steel cassettes.
In one embodiment of the invention, the steel cassettes are made of galvanized steel sheets, preferably hot-galvanized steel sheets.
DK 2018 00061 A1
In one embodiment of the invention, the material thickness of the steel cassettes is between 0.6 mm and 3 mm, preferably between 1 mm and 2 mm.
Such steel cassettes are distinguished by a very suitable combination of low weight and high strength, especially after mounting the plasterboard.
In one embodiment of the invention, the height of the steel cassettes is between 1.8 m and 2.5 m, preferably between 2.1 m and 2.3 m.
In one embodiment of the invention, the width of the steel cassettes is between 0.1 m and 0.8 m, preferably between 0.16 m and 0.6 m.
In one embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the steel cassettes is between 3 cm and 7 cm, preferably between 5.5 cm and 6 cm.
The use of steel cassettes with these dimensions is suitable for the construction of bath cabinets with suitable floor area and ceiling height. The steel cassettes can advantageously be assembled by so-called clinching, where a point on the plates is squeezed out with a pressure of 30 kilonewton (Kn) or more, thus creating a permanent assembly.
In one embodiment of the invention, the plasterboard is fully bonded to the elements.
In one embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the plasterboard is between 10 mm and 20 mm.
In one embodiment of the invention, the plasterboard is cut such that a single plasterboard covers an entire interior surface of the bathtub, for example an entire sidewall or ceiling.
The use of full-adhesive plasterboard, each covering an entire interior surface of the bathtub, means that it can be painted directly on the plasterboard without prior spattering.
In one aspect of the invention, it relates to a method of manufacturing a bath cabin as described above, which comprises the steps of:
- the production of a tiled floor
- cutting a plasterboard so that it can just cover a whole interior surface of a wall in the desired bathtub
DK 2018 00061 A1
- full bonding of the plasterboard, for example by running it through a glue machine
- placement of box-shaped elements with the closed side down into the still wet glue
- mounting of the wall thus produced on the finished floor
- repeating the previous four steps until all four walls are mounted on the floor
- cutting a plasterboard so that it can just cover the interior ceiling of the desired bathtub
- full bonding of the plasterboard, for example by running it through a glue machine
- placement of box-shaped elements with the closed side down into the still wet glue
- mounting the ceiling thus produced on the four walls previously manufactured
- mounting of tiles on selected parts of the interior walls of the bathroom, for example in a shower cabinet, painting the other parts of the walls and mounting the sanitary
Thus, it is possible to easily and quickly manufacture a prefabricated bath cabin with lower weight and less cost than other known bath cabinets.

FIG. 8 is a schematic drawing of a joint between two walls of a bath cabin according to an embodiment of the invention.
Detailed description of the invention
FIG. 1 shows a look into a prefabricated bath cabin 1 according to an embodiment of the invention. The bathtub 1 is assembled by placing the four walls 4, 5 on the already finished tiled floor 2 with floor drain 10, after which the ceiling 3 is mounted.
Subsequently, the bathtub is completed by painting and installing wall tiles 12 and sanitation in the form of, for example, toilet 7, washbasin 8 and shower 9. As can be seen, tiles are only mounted on the wall 4. In the rest of the bathtub 1, the walls 5 are painted, which is both much faster and less material-intensive than tile mounting.
As can be seen in the right-hand side of the doorway through which the bath cabin 1 is viewed, the walls are constructed of steel cassettes 6,
FIG. 2 shows the same bathtub 1 seen from the outside. Here you can clearly see the box-shaped steel cassettes 6 on which the wall 4, 5 of the bath cabin 1 is constructed. Furthermore, it is seen how the floor 2 is surrounded by a bottom frame 16 with a door opening 14 and lifting bracket 15, and that under each corner of the bath 1 is a transport leg 18 on which the bottom frame 16 of the bath 1 rests.
FIG. 3 is a schematic drawing of the bath cabin 1 seen from above without a ceiling 3. Here it can be seen how the steel cassettes 6 on the inside are coated with plasterboard 11, on top of
In addition, we can see how the toilet 7 is partially hidden in the cavity of the steel cassette 6 in which it is mounted.
FIG. 4a is a schematic top view of a finished floor 2 of the bath cabin 1. The floor 2 is covered with tiles 12, and the shading of the floor 2 in the shower cabinet indicates that the floor 2 in this area may be lowered relative to the other part of the floor 2. This is also shown in FIG. 4c showing a cross section of the floor 2 and the underlying concrete support 19. FIG. 4b and 4c show the bottom frame 16 around the floor 2 seen from two different sides.
FIG. 5 and 6 show how installations such as a shower connection 17 and the cisterns and toilets of the toilet 7 can be concealed in whole or in part in the cavities of the steel cassettes 6 for a user of the bathtub 1. When the bathtub 1 is installed in a building, it will The open side of the steel cassettes is typically closed with plasterboard 11 or otherwise so that these installations are completely hidden.
In FIG. 7, showing an assembly between the floor 2 and a painted wall 5 in a bath cabin 1 according to an embodiment of the invention, it is seen how the steel cassettes 6 with the glued plasterboard 11 are placed on top of the bottom frame 16. Furthermore, it is shown how the transition between bottom frame 16 and plasterboard 11 in areas of the bath cabin 1, where the wall is not tiled 4 but painted 5, can be covered with a low tile coating 12 along the floor.
FIG. 8 shows an assembly between two tiled walls 4 in a bath cabin 1 according to an embodiment of the invention. Here it is clearly seen how the tile lining 12 is mounted on top of a plasterboard 11, which is again mounted on the steel cassettes 6.
