Knee joint press for waste compression Description
The present invention relates to a press mechanism for compacting waste. The basic elements of the press mechanism consist of a press plate with knee joint exchange as well as a retaining plate.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
From WO 00/05136 Al is known a waste press comprising a press plate and a retaining plate. The movement of the pressing plate is driven by an actuator, the actuator being at that end hinged to the housing. The resist plate is operated by another actuator.
However, there are various disadvantages of the prior art waste press. Eg. there is a risk of the waste being squeezed out of the gap between the pressing plate and the holding plate.
Thus, there is a need to provide improved waste presses. This is achieved by the present invention.
The object of the invention
The invention as described herein relates to a waste press. The waste press according to the invention comprises a housing, a knee joint activated press plate, an actuator and a restraint plate. The knee joint mechanism is driven by an actuator and another actuator, one on each side where the actuator is hinged at one end to the housing and at the other end is hinged to a pivot point of the knee joint mechanism. The knee joint mechanism further comprises a knee joint exchange hinged at one end to the housing and at the other end to a running rail in the press plate. In the middle of the knee joint exchange is a hinged connection hinged at the other end to the back of the press plate, the hinge to the back of the press plate being fixed in a horizontal direction and movable in a vertical direction in a rail connected to the housing. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a waste press in which the retaining plate is hinged at one end to a housing to which the retaining plate can be turned from horizontal exit and press configuration to vertical emptying configuration by a third actuator.
The invention has the advantage that the force effect of the knee joint mechanism on the pressing plate takes place in a rolling motion across the upper surface of the pressing plate.
The user places the waste on the holding plate under the press plate. Then, using the knee joint mechanism, the pressing plate is pressed down over the debris against the retaining plate. The power transfer to the knee joint exchange is done using linear actuators. The distance and angular evolution during compression, between the pressing plate and the holding plate, is very appropriate. We want as "parallel" relations as possible. Thereby the waste is fixed as best as possible. This is achieved by the center of gravity of the pressing plate being movable in the vertical direction and fixed in the horizontal direction. The force transmitted to the pressing plate from the actuators, via the knee joint mechanism, takes place in a rolling motion. When compression is completed, the pressing plate returns to its initial position and the retaining plate tilts from horizontal position to vertical position so that the compressed waste can fall into the underground waste container.
The advantage of using a waste press with a knee joint solution is that you achieve a more "parallel" compression of the waste than by just using one actuator on each side.
If the press plate was hinged in the traditional way, without a knee joint, with one actuator on each side, the waste would tend to be "pushed" out of the press area. This problem is solved by the waste press according to the invention.

Detailed description
Initially, it should be noted that the attached drawings illustrate non-limiting embodiments only. A variety of other embodiments will be possible within the scope of the present invention. In the following, similar or identical elements in the various embodiments will be denoted by the same reference numeral.
FIG. 1A shows a waste press 2 according to the invention in a first configuration, which is the initial configuration while FIG. 1B shows a schematic illustration of the one shown in FIG. 1A is a perspective view of the waste press from above. The waste press 2 comprises a housing 20, a pressing plate 4, a holding plate 6 and two actuators 10, 10 '. The actuators 10, 10 'are hinged downwardly to their respective points 22, 22' and to the pressing plate 4 at pivot points 26. The waste press 2 comprises a knee joint mechanism hinged at a point 18 via a shaft 24 to the pressing plate 4. The knee joint mechanism comprises a knee joint exchange 12 which is slidably mounted in a slide rail 28 in the pressing plate 4 via a roller bearing 14. At a point 16, the pressing plate 4 is secured against horizontal movement. At this point, the pressing plate 4 can only be moved vertically.
The waste press 2 is in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1A and FIG. IB showed configuration ready for waste to be deposited on the retaining plate 6.
FIG. 2A shows a waste press 2 according to the invention in another (side view) configuration which is a press configuration, while FIG. 2B shows the one shown in FIG. 2A is a perspective view of the waste press 2 viewed diagonally from above. Waste press 2 comprises a pressing plate 4 which, by means of actuators 10, 10 'and the knee joint mechanism (including the knee joint exchange 12), has been pressed down against the holding plate 6.
FIG. 3A shows a schematic illustration of the waste press 2 shown in FIG. 1A and FIG. 2A is a side view, in a configuration where the pressing plate 4 is pushed back into the starting position and the holding plate 6 is tilted down to the emptying position. FIG. 3B shows a schematic illustration of the one shown in FIG. 3A is a perspective view of the waste press 2 viewed obliquely from above. FIG. 3B shows a waste press 2 according to the invention in an emptying configuration, in which the pressing plate 4 is pushed back into the starting position by the two actuators 10, 10 'and the knee joint mechanism (including the knee joint exchange 12) is tilted into the emptying position. The abutment plate (6) is hinged at one end at a point (8) to the housing (20), through which the abutment plate (6) can be turned from a horizontal exit and press configuration to a vertical emptying configuration by means of a third actuator (10 "). .
