Description: The invention relates to a device for controlling telephone calls which can be transmitted from a caller via a communication network to a person to be called, with a processor for processing caller data, with a data memory in which a call control module is stored, the call control module being means for processing call-related data depending on predetermined categories and means for storing the categories in a category memory.
Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for controlling telephone calls, the call being checked according to different categories.
[0003] WO 2006/117 561 A1 discloses a device for controlling telephone calls, which has a call control module for processing caller data depending on predetermined categories. The assignment of a caller to different categories is made by the caller himself during the call, for example where a caller who is a member of the caller's family can be assigned to a family category. The next time the family member calls, this call will be handled according to the preselected family category. If the call comes from a charity, it will be treated differently than the call from the family member due to the different categorization.
The object of the present invention is to develop an apparatus and method for controlling telephone calls such that, on the one hand, the person to be called is effectively protected against unwanted calls and, on the other hand, a large number of calls from unknown callers can be accepted.
To achieve this object, the invention in connection with the preamble of claim 1, characterized in that the category memory is designed as a security category memory in which several security-related categories are stored, that the call control module has control means so that the call in Call response processing is dependent on a security check in which features of the call are checked for compliance with one or more conditions of the security-relevant categories.
According to the invention, a security category memory is provided, in which several security-relevant categories can be stored. Different conditions are assigned to the security-relevant categories. Depending on the fulfillment or non-fulfillment of this condition assigned to the security-relevant categories, a call response or a call response processing is generated, which leads to different call results. The call results can cascade from a direct transfer of the call to the caller's phone to a blocking of the call (rejection of the call). A number of intermediate categories are therefore always provided between the lowest security category of direct transfer and the top security category: blocking, with calls from unknown callers being assigned call results of different security levels. The condition of a low-security-relevant category can, for example, result in the call being put through to the telephone of the person to be called, but additional measures are taken to protect against fraudulent calls. A higher security-relevant category provides that the call is not forwarded to the telephone of the person to be called, but the information of the person to be called is processed in another way, for example by forwarding it to a trusted person of the person to be called. The invention thus enables a multi-level protection against unwanted callers, the one to be angry being protected against tricksters or subscriber traps and, on the other hand, being able to accept a large number of calls.
According to a development of the invention, the low security relevant category is provided to identify known callers for the caller. For this purpose, a known memory is provided in which the telephone numbers of known callers can be stored. The known caller is identified by comparing the telephone number of the caller with the telephone numbers of the known memory and put through directly to the telephone of the person to be called.
According to a development of the invention, a highly security-relevant category is used to identify predefined unknown and / or known unwanted callers who are to be rejected. For this purpose, a blocking memory is provided in which telephone numbers of unwanted callers are stored. By comparing the telephone number of the caller with the telephone numbers stored in the blocking memory, the unwanted and unknown caller can be identified, so that a corresponding call answering result is generated when the call is blocked.
According to a development of the invention, a second security-relevant category for a call with an unknown telephone number is provided, which is used to avoid so-called ping calls. According to the condition of this second security-relevant category, the caller is asked to press a key on his telephone. Only then will he be forwarded to the caller's phone. With ping calls, the fraudster speculates that the called party will usually call the unknown number back from exotic countries, whereupon he will be put on hold while the telephone charges increase.
Another security-relevant category provides that the caller must press a key on his phone and that the call is recorded by a voice recorder while the call is being routed to the person to be called. The conversation is advantageously recorded here for security purposes, so that afterwards a

Call with fraudulent intent, such as tricksters, subscriber traps, competitions.
According to a development of the invention, a further security-relevant category provides that the call is diverted to a voice recorder without the person being called can accept the call. The caller uses this security-relevant category if he wants increased security requirements compared to the aforementioned third security-relevant category or, for example, does not want to expose himself to the risk of subscribing by telephone. After calling up the voice message, he can then decide in peace whether he wants to subscribe or not. This means that the highest level of information transmission is linked to the highest level of fraud security.
According to a development of the invention, a further security-relevant category is provided, which causes the call to be forwarded to a trusted person. For this purpose, the telephone number of the caller is compared with telephone numbers stored in a trusted person's memory. In this way, for example, persons cared for in business or private matters can advantageously direct the caller to a person authorized to do so, which is conducive to the effectiveness of the communication. Alternatively, it can also be forwarded to the shop steward if the caller is not stored in the shop steward's memory. This has the advantage that only known callers can reach the person to be called.
According to a further development of the invention, the call control module has control means so that the lowest security-relevant category and the highest security-relevant category are checked first. These are telephone numbers of the caller, which are stored in the known memory and blocking memory. Only when it is certain that there is no known caller or unwanted caller are further security-relevant categories (intermediate categories) checked sequentially, the further check being terminated when the condition of one of the categories is met and the corresponding call result of the matched category checked is produced. The categories are checked sequentially according to a call verification rule, which is preset or can be configured by the person to be called. In this way, security-oriented and customer-oriented processing of calls from unknown callers can advantageously take place.
According to a development of the invention, the call control module has control means such that the corresponding call result is generated when the condition of a single security-relevant category is met. So there is only a single call result.
According to a further development of the invention, a configuration program for determining the individual conditions for the categories or for the call check rule can also be carried out remotely via a communication network by means of an administrator identifier. The call processing is thus variably adjustable according to the needs of the person to be called or their relatives, and remote configuration is ensured. According to a development of the invention, an identification memory is provided in which caller IDs (security numbers) are stored. Callers with unknown telephone numbers can thus be forwarded to the caller's telephone by entering the correct caller ID. For example, this functionality is useful for callers known per se who call from a mobile phone with an unknown number. As a result, the device according to the invention can advantageously be used more universally.
To achieve the object, the invention in connection with the preamble of claim 16, characterized in that first a call check is carried out using a condition according to which the telephone number of the call is compared with telephone number stored in a memory and that if the Telephone number of the caller with the telephone number of the memory, a corresponding category of call answer processing takes place, and that, in the event that the condition of the aforementioned call security check is not fulfilled, further conditions are carried out sequentially according to different security-relevant categories until the condition meets one of the checked categories with the result that the call processing result of the positively determined category is carried out.
The particular advantage of the inventive method is that relatively little unknown callers are rejected by the graded processing of the calls. The user or the person to be called can flexibly configure the different categories, so that call processing adapted to them is guaranteed. According to a preferred variant of the method according to the invention, the necessary safety-relevant categories (K1, K8) are checked in a first time period. If the review of these categories leads to a negative result, a single preset category is carried out in a second period. The default category has been selected from a number of alternative categories. The selection has preferably been made beforehand by the person to be called, the selection being menu-driven by the device according to the invention.
[0019] Further advantages of the invention result from the further subclaims.
[0020] Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.
[0021] It shows:
CH 714 612 A2
1 is a schematic block diagram of a device according to the invention,
2 shows a sequence of call processing by means of the device according to the invention, and
3 shows a sequence of preferred call processing using the device according to the invention.
A device according to the invention for controlling telephone calls is installed in a telephone processing device 1, which is arranged between a telephone connection socket 2, not shown, and a telephone 3 of the person to be called. The call processing device 1 is preferably connected to the connection socket 2 via an input interface 4 and to the telephone 3 via an output interface 5. The telephone connection socket 2 is connected to a communication network for communication with other telephone subscribers. The communication network is operated by a telecommunications provider, such as Deutsche Telekom.
The telephone processing device 1 has a processor 6 for controlling or processing call-related data. The processor 6 is connected to a data memory 7, in which a call control module 8 is provided for processing call-related data depending on predetermined categories K1, K2 ... K8. A security category memory 9 is provided for storing the categories K1, K2 ... K8, in which the categories K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, which are relevant to security, are stored. Each of these categories K1, K2 ... K7, K8 is linked to one or more conditions, whereby the categories K1, K2 ... K7, K8 can have the same partial conditions. The conditions assigned to categories K1, K2 ... K7, K8 each consist of a single condition or of several sub-conditions. For the sake of simplicity, categories K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8 are always spoken of below, although it is clear to the person skilled in the art that each category, as software or hardware, comprises a sequence of review steps. The categories K1, K2 ... K7, K8 of the security category memory 9 are stored in the data memory 7.
[0024] In addition, the data memory 7 has a known memory 10 in which telephone numbers of known callers are stored. Furthermore, the data memory 7 comprises a blocking memory 11, in which the telephone numbers of unknown and blocked callers are stored. In addition, the data store 7 comprises a store of trust persons 12, in which telephone numbers of trust persons of the person to be called are stored. In addition, the data memory 7 has an identification memory 13 in which caller IDs are stored.
The processor 6 is connected to a voice recorder 14, which is suitable for receiving calls. The processor 6 is also connected to a bell generator 15, by means of which a call or the processing of the call can be signaled. In addition, the processor 6 is connected to a voice announcement device 16, by means of which, depending on the result of a security check in which the features of a call are checked for compliance with a condition of the security-relevant categories K1, K2 ... K7, K8, the caller receives one Voice message is transmitted.
The call processing or security check is explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 2. If a call 17 is made by a caller, the corresponding signal is fed via the input interface 4 to the processor 6, which activates the control module 8. The call control module 8 is designed in such a way that the first lowest security-relevant category K1 runs, step 51. This category K1 is assigned the condition which is checked according to whether the telephone number of the call 17 matches a telephone number stored in the known memory 10. If a match is found, a corresponding confirmation signal PI is transmitted from the control module 8 to the processor 6. The processor 6 then acts on the input interface 3 in such a way that the call 17 is forwarded directly via a line 18 to the telephone 3 of the person to be called. The caller is thus identified as a known caller, so that no further measures are initiated.
Does the check carried out in step S1 for correspondence of the call number with a telephone number of the known memory 10 lead to a negative result, i.e. If no matching telephone number was found in the known memory 10 for the call number, the call control module 8 controls a highly security-relevant category K8 in step S2. This category K8 is assigned as a condition for checking the number of the call 17 for correspondence with a telephone number stored in the blocking memory 11. If a match is found, call 17 is an unwanted call. As a result, a corresponding signal is transmitted to the microprocessor 6, by means of which the call 17 is rejected or blocked, step F2.
If the telephone number of the call 17 is not contained in the blocking memory 11, the call control module 8 controls in step S3 a second security-relevant category K2, which is assigned the condition that the caller receives a request to press a key on his telephone. For this purpose, the processor 6 can control the voice announcement device 16, for example, by means of which corresponding voice signals are transmitted to the caller. If the caller complies with the request and presses the button on his telephone, this is recognized by a corresponding signal in the input interface 4, passed on to the processor 6, so that a further check of the categories K1, K2 ... K8 is set and the input interface 4 for the transfer of the call 17 via the line 18 to the caller, s. F1 in Fig. 2. If the caller does not comply with the request, the call control module 8 controls a third security-relevant category K3, step S4. Category K3 is assigned as a condition that, on the one hand, the caller is asked to press any key on his telephone, and that he is advised of this
CH 714 612 A2, on the other hand, if the button on the telephone is pressed successfully, the call that is passed through is recorded by the voice recorder 14 with the person to be called. If the caller complies with the request, the call 17 is forwarded to the telephone of the person to be called in accordance with step F1.
If the caller does not comply with the request according to the condition for the category K3, the call 17 is ended or the control module 8 controls the fourth security-relevant category K4, step S5. Category K4 is assigned the condition that the unknown caller is given the opportunity to leave a voice message on the voice recorder 14. If the caller agrees, he can leave a voice message for the caller in step F3. Otherwise, the call 17 is ended or the call control module 9 controls a fifth security-relevant category K5 in step S6. This category K5 is assigned the condition according to which the telephone number of the call 17 is compared with a telephone number stored in the confidante memory 12. If a match is found, the call 17 is forwarded to the trusted person's telephone line, step F4. If the result of this security check is negative, i.e. the telephone number does not match a telephone number of the confidante memory 12, the seventh security-relevant category K6 is activated by means of: the call control module 8, step S7. According to category K6, the security check is carried out in such a way that the caller is asked to enter a caller ID. If the caller ID matches an identifier stored in the identification memory 13, the caller is regarded as a known caller who is calling from an unknown telephone, for example a mobile phone. The call 17 is then put through to the person to be called 3, see FIG. F1 in FIG. 2. In the negative case, the call 17 is rejected in accordance with the category K7 and the call processing is thus completed.
According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the order of checking categories K1, K2 ... K8 can also be changed. For example, category K6 can be checked at the end of time or at the start. The temporally sequential checking of categories K1, K2 ... K8 can thus be changed based on the application.
Depending on the different security-relevant categories K1, K2 ... K8, different call answering processes or call results F1, FZ, F3, F4 or different call verification regulations take place.
The call processing or checking thus takes place in different security levels, whereby in the lower or lower security-relevant categories the call 17 is put through to the caller and in the higher security-related categories the call 17 of the caller is not put through to the caller.
The call processing can be configured by means of a configuration program from the telephone 2 of the person to be called, the telephone of the caller or remotely from a handheld device (PC, tablet etc.), the input of the changed configuration data relating to the security-relevant categories K1, K2 ... K8 takes place via a communication network (e.g. telephone and Internet) using an administrator ID. The conditions of the individual categories or the generation of further categories can be set using the configuration program.
The call processing according to the invention can be included as software in the call processing device. Alternatively, it can also be made available to a user as a computer program product on a data carrier or via a data network (Internet).
The call processing according to the invention has the advantage that no unknown callers are rejected unless this is desired and set by the person to be called. In addition, the caller is given the flexibility to decide for themselves which criteria are used to answer a call or not.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention according to FIG. 3, in a first step S1 the call number is checked for correspondence with a telephone number of the known memory 10 in accordance with category K1. If the check is positive, a confirmation signal F1 is issued so that the call is put through to the person to be called. If the condition K1 is not met, the category K8 relevant to maximum security is checked in step S2. According to this category K8, the call 17 is checked for a match between the telephone number and the telephone numbers stored in the blocking memory 11. If a match is found, call 17 is blocked. Up to this point, the call check coincides with the embodiment according to the invention in FIG. 2. It goes without saying that categories K.1 and K8 can also be checked in reverse chronological order.
In contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 2, only one of the preset security-relevant categories K2 or K3 or K4 or K5 or K7 is selected by the person to be called. The function of the respective safety-relevant categories K2 to K7 have already been described above.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, not shown, in contrast to the embodiment according to FIG. 3, after checking category K1 and / or category K8, category K6 can be checked. Here - as described in the embodiment according to FIG. 2 - the caller is asked to enter an identifier (security number). If the identifier entered by the caller matches the stored identifier, the call is transferred to the person to be called, F1. In the other case, the security check is carried out in the preset category K3 or K4 or K5 or K7. If the safety-relevant category K2 pre-set
CH 714 612 A2, it is carried out directly in this embodiment if, according to category K8, the telephone number of the call 17 does not match a telephone number stored in the blocking memory 11.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 and the last-mentioned embodiment enables the user to have automatic call processing adapted to his needs. Software categories of the device can be used to add further categories, for example, so that the user's selection of security-relevant categories can be increased further.
