Description
Technical Field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of watchmaking. It relates, more particularly, a set of watchmaking frame members for adjusting the height position of a bridge.
State of the Art [0002] Document CH 293 486 describes a set of frame elements comprising an adjustable bridge system. In this system, a cock is mounted on a pillar riveted in a platinum. The pillar has an external thread on which is fitted a nut whose position along the pillar can be modified by pivoting it via an ad hoc tool. The cock is supported on the upper face of the nut and is sandwiched between the plate and a screw which is screwed into a tapping formed in an axial bore that includes the pillar. By these means, the watchmaker can adjust the height and cock position by rotating the nut. The height is defined in the direction of the direction perpendicular to the plane of the plate, that is to say as generally defined, along the z axis. This setting is used in particular to change the frog of the axis of the balance in its bearings.
However, this arrangement provides insufficient stability to the tight elements between the head of the screw and the surface of the nut. In addition, the use of a pillar is not very compact, and therefore the arrangement is poorly adapted to modern constructions of low thickness movements.
The object of the invention is thus to overcome the defects of the prior art mentioned above.
Disclosure of the invention [0005] More specifically, the invention relates to a set of watchmaking frame elements comprising a plate, a bridge, a foot-screw mounted on said plate for example by means of a driving , bonding, crimping, shore, welding or the like, and an intermediate ring cooperating by screwing with said foot-screw. This ring has a first positioning surface against which said bridge rests under the effect of a clamping means, such as a screw which cooperates with said foot-screw.
According to the invention, said first positioning surface is defined by a flange that includes the intermediate ring, said foot-screw comprises a tube extending towards the bridge, and said intermediate ring has an axial opening (considered by relative to the axis of the foot-screw and the clamping means) defining a guide surface cooperating with the outer periphery of said clamping means.
By these means, the stability of the assembly is improved by the cooperation of said guide surface with the clamping means. The assembly is made more compact by the construction of the intermediate ring, particularly in the use of a positioning surface provided on a flange instead of a side of a nut.
Advantageously, the intermediate ring carries a guide spacer extending towards said plate and a section capable of cooperating by screwing with said tube. The spacer and / or the section may be integral with the intermediate ring, or may be provided on an insert on the latter. The guide spacer further improves the stability of the assembly by cooperating for example with the outer wall of the tube and / or with the inner wall of an opening in the plate.
Advantageously, a first of the guide spacer and said section is located outside said tube, the other taking place inside said tube. Preferably, the guide spacer is outside the tube, which simplifies the construction.
Advantageously, the guide spacer and said section define between them an annular space in which takes place the foot-screw, which represents a particularly stable construction.
Advantageously, said section comprises a thread cooperating with a corresponding tapping formed on the inner periphery of said tube.
Advantageously, the intermediate ring comprises a chimney extending from the plane of said flange, said chimney being arranged to position said bridge. This chimney serves to ensure the stability of the bridge parallel to the plane of the first positioning surface.
Advantageously, said rim defines, a second side opposite to the first side, a second positioning surface, bearing on a corresponding surface of the guide spacer, which is thus precisely positioned. Finally, the invention relates to a timepiece comprising a set of frame elements as defined above.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Further details of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the description which follows, made with reference to the appended drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a set of frame members according to the invention; and fig. 2 to 6 are sectional views of the main steps of assembly of the assembly of FIG. 1.
Embodiment of the Invention [0016] FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a set of watchmaking frame elements 1 according to the invention.
This assembly 1 comprises a plate 3 on which is mounted a bridge 5. Typically, the latter is a balance bridge which carries a bearing constituting a pivot member of a balance shaft. However, it is also possible that the bridge can be used to rotate another element requiring fine adjustment, such as a component of a display gear such as a perpetual calendar gear, or any other watch device.
The plate 3 has an opening 7 provided with a shoulder 9 against which rests a screw-foot 11. The latter is fixed to the plate. The screw-foot 11 can be driven, welded, glued, screwed, riveted or the like in the opening, its support against the shoulder 9 serving to position it precisely and to define a stable axial position in the z-axis.
The portion of the screw-foot 11 which extends towards the bridge 5 comprises a tube 13 provided with a fine pitch thread 15. In the embodiment shown here, the outer wall of the tube 13 is smooth. The fine pitch thread 15 has a thread pitch of at most 0.1 mm per revolution, preferably at most 0.05 mm per revolution.
An intermediate ring 17 is screwed into the tube 13 via a threaded cylindrical section 19 that includes the ring 17. This cylindrical section 19 extends from an annular flange 21, and has a smooth inner wall. A first flat surface 23 of the flange 21, which is opposite the bridge 5, serves as a support for the latter, and a second flat surface 25 of the flange 21, which is located opposite the screw-foot 11, serves as a support for A guide spacer 27. The plane surfaces 23 and 25 are advantageously parallel to the plane of the plate. The presence of the latter is nevertheless optional. The intermediate ring 17 comprises structures such as flats, grooves, crenellated structures or the like, to allow its manipulation by an ad-hoc tool.
The guide spacer 27 is fixed by driving, gluing, welding, riveting, screwing or the like on the tube bearing against said second flat surface 25, and is configured to define an annular cavity 28 in which takes place the tube 13. Alternatively, the spacer 27 may be integral with the intermediate ring. In this way, the inner wall of the spacer 27 cooperates with the smooth outer wall of the tube 13 to ensure the positioning of the tube 13 perpendicular to the axis z. In a variant not shown, the spacer 27 can cooperate with the inner wall of the opening 7 instead of, or in addition to, its cooperation with the outer wall of the tube 13. Moreover, the arrangement of the section 19 and the spacer 27 can be reversed, the outer wall of the tube 13 being provided with a thread cooperating with a corresponding thread carried by the spacer 27. The section 19 is then smooth and serves as a guide spacer.
The intermediate ring 17 further comprises a chimney 29 which extends axially from the flange 21 in the opposite direction to the section 19, and which takes place in an opening 31 which is provided with the bridge 5. This arrangement allows to position precisely the latter parallel to the plane of the plate 3.
In order to make the bridge 5 integral with the plate 3, a clamping means, here taking the form of a screw 33, cooperates with a tapping 35 provided in the screw-foot 11, and its head clamps the bridge 5 against the said first surface 23 of the ring 17. The barrel or the threaded portion of the screw 33 also take place in the axial opening of the ring 21, the inner wall of the latter thus constituting a guide surface 20 which serves to guide the screw 33.
The position of the bridge 5 in height, that is to say along the axis z perpendicular to the plane of the plate 3, can be adjusted by pivoting the ring 17 to screw more or less deeply on the foot 11, which changes the axial position of said first surface.
Figs. 2 to 6 illustrate a sequence of actions for assembling a bridge 5 on a plate 3 by means of the set of elements according to the invention. Only the main reference signs have been represented in these figures.
In FIG. 2, the screw-foot 11 has already been fixed to the plate 3, the spacer 27 and the ring 21 having already been assembled to one another.
Then, as shown in FIG. 3, the tube-spacer assembly 21, 27 is screwed onto the screw-foot 11. The height position of the assembly 21, 27 on the screw-foot 11 can subsequently be fine-tuned by rotating the assembly 21,27 relative to the screw-foot 11 by means of an ad hoc tool, as illustrated schematically in FIG. 4.
Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 5, the bridge 5 is positioned on the ring 21, the chimney 29 taking place in the opening 31 of the bridge 5, and the screw 33 is inserted inside the screw-foot 11. Finally, the screw 33 is tightened to secure the bridge 5 on the plate 3 as mentioned above.
If the vertical position of the bridge 5 is not correct and the balance of the equilibrium must be adjusted in the case of a pendulum bridge, the screw 33 can be loosened, the bridge 5 can be removed, and the tube-spacer assembly 21,27 can be rotated in one direction or the other in order to modify its axial position. Then, the bridge 5 can be replaced, and the screw 33 tightened again.
Although the invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to a particular embodiment, other variants and constructions are possible without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
