Description: [0001] The present invention relates to a firearm holster and more particularly to a holster for a handgun. More specifically, the invention relates to a holster attaching around the waist of a user.
Security forces including police may have, according to the law, the authorization to carry a firearm and sometimes even outside their hours of service. However the current holsters to put the firearm on the belt place the weapon on the side or the back of the user. The weapon is thus easily accessible to the user but also to an individual wishing to seize the weapon without the knowledge of the user. In addition, current holsters do not allow proper concealment of the weapon especially when the user is in civilian clothes.
One of the aims of the present invention is therefore to at least partially overcome the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide a secure holster reducing the risk of tearing of the firearm.
The present invention thus relates to a holster for a handgun intended to be disposed at the level of the lower abdomen, between the body of the user and his lower garment, said holster comprising: - a front portion comprising at least one front pocket inside which is intended to be introduced the barrel of the weapon, the butt of the weapon being caused to protrude from the upper edge of the lower garment, said front portion being made of fabric and having a semi-circular core; rigid, and - an adjustable elastic belt intended to surround the size of the user to whom the front portion is fixed.
According to one aspect of the invention, the ends of the elastic belt intended to come into the back of the user are fixed to one another by mechanical fastening hooks and textile buckles.
According to another aspect of the invention, the front portion comprises at least one pass through which the elastic belt passes.
According to another aspect of the invention, the elastic belt comprises two elastic bands, each of said elastic bands being fixed at one of its ends in the loop by a mechanical fastening with hooks and textile loops.
According to another aspect of the invention, the front portion has a first and a second front pocket vertically symmetrical to each other.
According to another aspect of the invention, the front portion comprises an additional pocket disposed between the first and the second front pocket.
According to another aspect of the invention, the front portion comprises at least one additional storage pocket disposed between the at least one front pocket and the body of the user.
According to another aspect of the invention, the front portion comprises an upper protective strip disposed above the opening of the at least one front pocket, said upper protective strip being intended to be placed between the stick of the weapon and the body of the user.
According to another aspect of the invention, the inner face of the front portion is covered with an anti-irritation fabric.
According to another aspect of the invention, the inner face of the elastic belt in contact with the body of the user is covered with an anti-irritation fabric.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following description, given by way of illustrative and non-limiting example, and the accompanying drawings in which: FIG. 1 shows a schematic representation in front view of the holster, FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation in front view of the holster of FIG. 1 with a weapon inserted, fig. 3 shows a schematic representation in front view of the holster of FIG. 1 worn by a user, FIG. 4 shows a schematic front view of a holster according to an alternative embodiment with an inserted weapon and magazine.
In the various figures, the elements identified bear the same reference numbers.
The following embodiments are examples. Although the description refers to one or more embodiments, this does not necessarily mean that each reference relates to the same embodiment, or that the features apply only to a single embodiment. Simple features of different embodiments may also be combined and / or interchanged to provide other embodiments.
In the present description, it is possible to index certain elements or parameters, such as for example first element or second element as well as first parameter and second parameter or else first criterion and second criterion, and so on. In this case, it is a simple indexing to differentiate and name elements or parameters or criteria close but not identical. This indexing does not imply a priority of one element, parameter or criterion with respect to another, and it is easy to interchange such denominations without departing from the scope of the present description. This indexing does not imply either an order in time for example to appreciate this or that criterion.
FIG. 1 shows a holster 1 for handgun 100 (shown in Figs 2 to 4). The holster 1 comprises in particular: a front part 10 comprising at least one front pocket 11-12 inside which the barrel 101 of the weapon 100 is intended to be inserted, the stick 102 of the weapon being brought to protruding from the upper edge 202 of the lower garment 201 (see Figs 2 and 3), and - an adjustable elastic belt 20 intended to surround the size of the user to which the front portion 10 is fixed.
As shown in FIG. 3, the holster 1 is intended to be disposed at the level of the lower abdomen, between the body of the user and his lower garment 201. By lower garment 201 is meant pants, shorts, a skirt where any other garment covering the part bottom of the user and coming around the size of the user. The upper edge 202 may in particular correspond to the belt of the lower garment 201. The weapon 100 is thus concealed under the clothing of the user, in particular under his lower garment 201 and his upper garment 203. His access is also facilitated by the fact that the weapon 100 is at the ventral level. It is then sufficient to lift the upper garment 203 to reach the butt 102 of the weapon 100.
The fact that the belt is elastic allows in particular to store the weapon 100 safely when the holster 1 is worn. For this, when the user wants to sheath the weapon 100, the latter pulls the front portion 10 from under the lower garment 201. Next, the user pulls on the front portion 10 so as to move away from his body while keeping it attached, the elastic belt 10 then stretches. The user then tilts the front portion 10 so that the bottom of the at least one front pocket 11-12 points to the ground in a direction away from the user. The user can then sheath the weapon 100 in the front pocket 11-12 safely reducing the risk of accidents. Indeed, if an accidental fire is triggered, the projectile would go to the ground opposite the user.
The front portion 10 may in particular be made of leather or fabric, having a semi-rigid core to maintain the shape of the holster 1 even when it is empty. This semi-rigid core thus makes it possible to unsheath or heal easily and quickly the weapon 100 from or in this holster 1. The front portion 10 can thus be composed of two sheets sewn together to form the different pockets. The seams C linking these two sheets are particularly visible in dashed lines in FIGS. 1,2 and 4.
The sheets may comprise one or more layers. More particularly, the inner face of the front portion 10 is covered with an anti-irritation fabric. On the internal face of the front part 10 is meant the face of the latter which is intended to come into contact with the user's body.
The use of fabric for the realization of the front portion 10 allows this holster to be lightweight. Moreover, the use of fabric for this front part 10 allows this holster to absorb the asperities of the weapon 100 when it is present in this holster 1 which contributes to the wearing comfort of this holster 1 for the user. In addition, the use of fabric for this front portion 10 also allows this holster to be washable.
The at least one front pocket 11-12 has a shape adapted to receive and hold the handgun 100. Thus, its opening is directed upwards when the holster 1 is worn. This opening is wide enough to receive the barrel 101 of the weapon and its trigger. The inside of the at least one 11-12 front pocket then narrows as one approaches the bottom of the front pocket to hold the barrel end.
According to a preferred embodiment, the front portion 10 may comprise a first 11 and a second 12 front pocket vertically symmetrical to each other. By vertically, here means an axis of vertical symmetry with respect to the ground when the holster 1 is worn. This axis of symmetry can also be described as being perpendicular to the belt 20.
The fact that the first 11 and the second 12 front pocket are symmetrical allows the weapon 100 to be positioned in one or the other of these front pockets 11-12 so that the weapon 100 is accessible both for a right-handed or left-handed user. The front pocket 11-12 not occupied by the weapon 10 can then be used to store a magazine of the weapon 100 and / or an identification cuff 300, as shown in FIG. 3.
According to an alternative embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, the front portion 10 may comprise an additional pocket 13 disposed between the first 11 and the second 12 front pocket. Inside this additional bag 13 may for example be inserted a magazine 103 of the handgun 100. Preferably, the additional bag 13 may allow positioning of the charger 103 inclined, preferably parallel to the axis of the barrel 101 of the weapon 100.
The fact that the charger is tilted avoids, for example when the user sits that the loader support him on the stomach and is painful. In addition, this inclination of the magazine 103 parallel to the barrel 101 of the weapon 100 makes it possible to clear the front pocket 11-12 not carrying the weapon 100, for example to seize an identification cuff present in said pocket. frontal 11-12. This additional pocket 13 may also have a "V" conformation to maintain the ambidextrous character of the front portion 10.
According to another embodiment (not shown), the front portion 10 comprises at least one additional storage pocket disposed between the at least one front pocket 11-12 and the body of the user. This at least one additional storage pocket can for example be used to store an identification card and / or an identification cuff.
The front portion 10 also comprises an upper protective strip 14 disposed above the opening of Pau minus a front pocket 11-12. As shown in figs. 2 and 4, this upper protective strip 14 is intended to be placed between the butt 102 of the weapon 100 and the body of the user. This avoids the direct contact between the stick of the weapon and the user to ensure optimal comfort and whatever the position in which the user stands.
As shown in FIG. 1, the front portion 10 has at least one loop 15 within which the elastic belt 20 passes. In the example illustrated in FIG. 1, the front portion 10 has a single loop 15 forming a "tunnel" across the width of said front portion. However, it is quite possible to imagine an alternative embodiment in which the front portion 10 has several loops 15 aligned to allow the passage of the elastic belt 20. In FIG. 1, the loop 15 is shown in dashed line with a line and two points to differentiate seams C represented in dashed lines. The passer 15 may more particularly pass into the upper protective band 14.
The fact of having a loop 15 allows a good positioning of the front portion 10 of the elastic belt 20 for better comfort. In addition, it allows to separate the elastic belt 20 of the front portion 10, for example in order to change one or the other of these parts in case of wear or breakage.
The elastic belt 20 can pass entirely in Pau less a passer and whose ends 212A-212B are intended to be fixed to one another in the back of the user.
The ends 212A-212B of the elastic belt 20 intended to come into the back of the user are preferably fixed to one another by mechanical fastening hooks and textile buckles, also called Velcro® fastening. It is quite possible to imagine other means for fixing the ends 212A-212B to each other, for example by buttons, clips or other known means of tightening a belt.
It is also possible to imagine another means of attachment between the elastic belt 20 and the front portion 10. For example, the elastic belt 20 may comprise two elastic bands 21. Each elastic band 21 is then individually fixed to the frontal portion 10. The loop 15 may thus comprise within it a mechanical fastening strip with hooks and textile loops on which is fixed an elastic band 21. The attachment is thus protected within the passer 15, avoiding a direct contact with this fixation with the body of the user. In addition it is possible to adjust the length of the elastic belt 20 by varying the portion of the elastic band 21 inserted and fixed within the passer 15. This allows to adapt to the morphology of the user.
An alternative solution is to fix the elastic bands 21 to the front part for example by stitching or buttons.
The inner face of the elastic belt 20 in contact with the body of the user, in particular at its ends 212A-212B intended to come into the user's back, may in particular be covered with a textile anti -irritation.
Thus, it is clear that the holster according to the invention allows the weapon port in a discrete and secure manner. In addition the elastic belt 20 allows to sheath the weapon safely.
