Description
Field of the Invention [0001] The invention relates to a barrel assembly for a mechanical watch with barrel shaft diameter or reduced plug. The invention also relates to a watch movement comprising at least one such barrel assembly.
The invention also relates to a timepiece comprising at least one such movement and / or at least one such barrel assembly.
The invention relates to the field of watchmaking, and more particularly the field of energy storage barrels, for feeding a movement, a ring, or other functionality of a timepiece.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0005] To increase the power reserve, by increasing the number of turns of a mainspring, one solution consists of a decrease in the diameter of the barrel shaft and the associated plug, to increase the available space in the drum for the spring.
The ratio of the bead radius with respect to the thickness of the spring is usually between 10 and 20, and the invention proposes to lower this ratio below 10, and preferably in the range between 5 and 10. and 10.
The dimensioning should not be done lightly, indeed a risk of breakage exists if the diameter of the plug is too small.
In the conventional architecture of the barrels as shown in FIG. 1, a röchet 50 is mounted axially on a barrel axis 51 or on a bung, via a square, the röchet 50 resting on a shoulder 52 of the barrel axis 51 and being fixed by a axial screw 53 screwed into a threaded hole 54 formed in the end face of the barrel axis 51. The dimension of this screw 53 and that of the square thus condition a minimum diameter of the barrel axis 51.
A diameter even greater than that of this shoulder 52 is necessary for a guide bearing 55 pivoting the drum 56 on the shaft 51, combined with a shoulder 57 for limiting the axial frustum of the drum. The respect of minimum material sections of the barrel axis 51 implies a quotation chain which results in a large size, difficult to reduce. In particular, it is not enough to reduce all the sizing, because the sections of material are then insufficient to ensure fatigue resistance.
It is therefore a matter of reconciling a shaft diameter 51 as small as possible, to allow the greatest possible power reserve, and rigidity of the driving of the röchet 50.
Because of these physical limits to the dimensioning of the various components, it is necessary to consider other barrel architectures than the conventional architecture that has just been described. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The invention proposes to improve the design of barrels designed for a large power reserve, by providing them with good rigidity, especially at the level of the röchet, while maintaining a reduced number of components, and an acceptable machining cost, or, preferably, more economical than on known barrels.
For this purpose the invention relates to a barrel assembly, in particular for a watch movement comprising a barrel shaft, a rotationally solid pinch of said barrel shaft, a barrel drum in which is housed a barrel spring whose inner end is fixed to the barrel shaft while the outer end is fixed to the barrel drum, said shaft passing through said drum and having in a portion extending outside the drum a shoulder on which said rock is supported and fixed, characterized in that said rock is fastened to said shaft by means of a nut.
With these characteristics, it is possible to reduce the diameter of the barrel shaft in the attachment zone of the inner end of the mainspring without compromising the mechanical stability of the fixation of the röchet on the shaft barrel and thus significantly increase the power reserve of the watch equipped with such a barrel assembly. As a guide, a barrel axis diameter at the bung in a construction of the type of the figure can easily be reduced by at least 40% with a barrel assembly according to the present invention.
[0015] Preferably, the nut is a blind nut closed by a bottom. Advantageously, the blind nut has a generally cylindrical shape whose bottom is provided on its outer surface with a slot and preferably the height dimensions of the nut are chosen so that when the base of the nut is tightened and plated against the plank of the röchet, a free space is formed between the free end of the barrel shaft and the bottom.
Advantageously, the nut comprises at its base an annular collar defining a bearing surface.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention the barrel shaft is mounted between a plate and a bridge, the barrel drum extending between the plate and the bridge with a portion that extends over the barrel bridge, this part comprising a shoulder on which rests and is fixed the röchet.
The invention also relates to a watchmaking movement comprising a barrel assembly comprising a barrel shaft, a rotationally solid pinch of said barrel shaft, a barrel drum in which is housed a barrel spring of which inner end is fixed to the barrel shaft while the outer end is fixed to the barrel drum, said shaft passing through said drum and having in a portion extending outside the drum a shoulder on which bears and is fixed said röchet, said röchet being fixed on said shaft by means of a nut.
The invention also relates to a timepiece typically a wristwatch comprising a watch movement as described above.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear better on reading the detailed description which follows, with reference to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 already described, shows schematically and in section in a plane passing through its pivot axis, a watch cylinder according to the prior art, the cylinder being mounted in a self-winding watch movement. fig. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 representative schematically and in section in a plane passing through its pivot axis, a watch cylinder according to the invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS [0021] The invention relates to the field of watchmaking, and more particularly to the field of energy storage barrels, for feeding a movement, a striking, or a another feature of a timepiece.
More particularly, the invention relates to a barrel assembly for mechanical watch with reduced bung diameter.
The invention thus relates to a watch cylinder 1 for pivoting mounting between a plate 2 and a barrel bridge 3 which are part of a mechanical watch movement. The barrel comprises a cylindrical drum 4 in which is housed a barrel spring 5, a barrel shaft 6 coaxial with the drum 4 about an axis D and on which is fixed a first end 7 of the spring 5 via a hook 8, and a cover 9 which closes the drum 4. The spring 5 is a spiral-shaped blade wound around the barrel shaft 6. The drum 4 has in its inner axial wall a clearance (not shown) which allows the attachment of a second end of the spring 5.
The drum 4 has an external toothing 10 which meshes with a pinion of a timer train (not shown).
The plate 2 has a circular opening 11 forming a bearing for the lower end 6a of the barrel shaft 6. In the example shown, the lower end 6a pivots in a stone 12 breakthrough chased into the opening 11. The lower end 6a has a shoulder 13 which constitutes a stop limiting the axial fretting of the shaft 6.
The barrel bridge 3 also has a circular opening 14 ensuring the pivoting of the shaft near its upper end 6b via a pierced stone 15 driven into the circular opening 14.
The barrel shaft 6 has in its central zone a cylindrical surface 16 whose length is slightly greater than the width of the spring 5 and which comprises the hook 8. On either side of the cylindrical surface 16, The shaft has a first bearing surface 17 and a second bearing surface 18 cylindrical.
The first bearing 17 is located on the side of the lower end 6a, that is to say on the side of the plate 2 and the second bearing 18 on the side of the upper end 6b, it is- say on the side of the barrel bridge 3.
The first bearing 17 has a diameter smaller than that of the central zone and is separated from the cylindrical surface 16 by a plane annular shoulder 19. The bearing 17 extends axially in a central opening 20 of the cover 9 to the shoulder 13 and is finally extended by the lower end 6a engaged in the stone 12.
The second scope 18 also has a diameter smaller than that of the central zone and is separated from the cylindrical surface 16 by a plane annular shoulder 21. The second span 18 has a length sufficient to engage on the one hand in a central opening 22 of the drum, and secondly in the hole of the pierced stone 15 and extends beyond the barrel bridge 3.
The shoulders 19 and 21 of the shaft 6 are capable of cooperating in abutment with flanges 23, 24 respectively extending from the openings 20 and 22 towards the inside of the barrel to limit the axial frustum of the barrel. tree 6.
The portion 6b of the shaft 6 extending beyond the barrel bridge 3 has a smaller diameter than the second bearing 18 and is delimited by a shoulder 25 on which the board of a röchet 26 Part 6b comprises since (shoulder 25 a square section 27 extended by a section 28 threaded externally to its free end.The röchet 26 has in its center an opening of corresponding shape to the square section 27 to make it integral in rotation of the shaft 6. The ratchet 26 is held tight against the shoulder 25 by means of a nut 29.
In the example shown, the nut 29 is a blind nut of generally cylindrical shape closed by a bottom 30 provided on its outer surface with a slot 30a for cooperating with a tool of complementary shape. Note that the height dimensions of the nut are chosen so that when the base of the nut is tightened and pressed against the plank of the röchet 26, a free space 31 remains between the free end of the part 6b of the shaft 6 and the bottom 30. This space 31 must be large enough to collect any burrs or other residues that may be produced during screwing of the nut on the net and prevent a dispersion thereof in the watch movement. As an indication, the volume of this space is typically of the order of 1/10 mm3.
Note also that the nut 29 comprises at its base an annular flange 32 defining a bearing surface 33 extending substantially parallel to the surface of the board with which it is intended to come into contact. This flange 32 thus advantageously makes it possible to distribute the plating force on the bit 26 over a larger area without increasing the bulk over the entire height of the nut 29.
In the example shown the gear is engaged with a pinion 34 of a mobile end of the winding train of a winding device automatic winding 35 of a watch movement.
According to an alternative embodiment not shown, it is obvious that one could replace the nut 29 described above by any blind nut or not allowing to ensure a reliable maintenance of the röchet 26 by screwing the nut on the threaded section 28.
The barrel assembly according to the invention is of course removable and can be disassembled using a standard tool such as a screwdriver.
