Description: [0001] The present invention relates to a bracelet-clasp assembly, in particular for a watch.
The present invention relates more particularly to such a set of which the bracelet is made of a flexible material, for example textile, leather, plastic or rubber.
The clasps for flexible bracelet are generally designed to be attached to one of the two strands of the bracelet and to receive the second strand of the bracelet and lock in a position of adjustment. Examples of such clasps are described in documents CH 360 526 and FR 2 437 801.
With these clasps, the locking of the second bracelet strand is generally obtained by compression and / or folding of the strand or by the cooperation of male and female parts, resulting in premature wear of the bracelet. Such systems are also poorly suited for lengths during tests in the shop, because they mark the bracelet which can then be difficult to present for another customer.
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks or at least mitigate them.
For these purposes, it is proposed a bracelet-clasp assembly comprising a bracelet and a clasp, the bracelet comprising a first bracelet strand and a second bracelet strand made of a flexible material, the clasp can take an open state and a closed state, the first strand of bracelet being attached to the clasp, the second strand of bracelet can be slid into the clasp when the latter is in its open state until a desired length of the bracelet and then locked in the clasp by closing this last, characterized in that the first bracelet strand or the clasp carries at least one adhesive element and in that the clasp is arranged to, in its closed state, hold the second bracelet strand in contact with the adhesive element (s) so to block the second strand of bracelet by adhesion.
The present invention also provides a watch comprising such a bracelet-clasp assembly.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. 1 is a partial perspective view of a strap-clasp assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention; figs. 2 and 3 are partial sectional views of the strap-clasp assembly according to the first embodiment of the invention showing the clasp respectively in an open state and a closed state; fig. 4 is a partial sectional view of the strap-clasp assembly according to the first embodiment of the invention showing the clasp in its open state; fig. 5 is a perspective view of two bracelet strands of the bracelet-clasp assembly according to the invention; fig. 6 is a perspective view of a portion of a strap-clasp assembly according to a second embodiment of the invention; figs. 7 and 8 are partial sectional views of the bracelet-clasp assembly according to the second embodiment of the invention showing the clasp respectively in an open state and in a closed state.
[0009] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a bracelet-clasp assembly according to a first embodiment of the invention, in particular for a watch, comprises a first strand of bracelet 1, a second strand of bracelet 2 and a clasp 3 to attach the bracelet strands 1 , 2 to each other and thus close the bracelet formed by the bracelet strands 1, 2.
The bracelet strands 1, 2 are made of a flexible material, for example textile, leather, plastic or rubber (natural or synthetic).
The first bracelet strand 1 is attached to the clasp 3 by a 1a of its two ends, the other end (not shown) of the first strand of bracelet 1 being attached to a watch case. Near its end 1a and on one of its two surfaces the first bracelet strand 1 carries adhesive elements 4 in the form of strips in the illustrated example. These adhesive elements 4 are glued, sewn or otherwise fixed on the first strand of bracelet 1. They can also be formed by overmolding or by a deposition technique on the first strand of bracelet 1.
The second strand of bracelet 2 is attached by one of its two ends (not shown) to the watch case and its other end 2a can be slid into the clasp 3 to lock the second strand of bracelet 2 in a adjustment position corresponding to a desired length of the bracelet, implying a desired tightening of the wrist when the bracelet is worn.
More specifically, the clasp 3 comprises a body 5 having a base 14. On the face of the body 5 opposite the base 14, is mounted a button 6 movable in translation in a direction D. Inside the body 5 , a bar 7 extends perpendicular to the direction D and parallel to the width of the bracelet 1, 2 between two side walls of the body 5 and allows, by passing through, the connection with the end 1a of the first bracelet strand 1. Another bar 8 extending inside the body 5 between the two side walls makes it possible to position the first strand of bracelet 1. The body 5 also has a first opening 9 and a second opening 10 located respectively on a first and a second of its two faces parallel to the width of the bracelet. The first strand of bracelet 1 passes through the first opening 9. The second bracelet strand 2 can be slid through the first opening 9 and the second opening 10, passing through the body 5.
The button 6 is integral with a positioning member 11 comprising an arch-shaped portion, of which only a base 12 is visible in the figures, and a rod 13 extending between the two sides of the arch parallel to the bars 7, 8 and the base 12. When the button 6 is pressed (open state of the clasp 3, see Fig. 2), the second bracelet strand 2 can be slid into the clasp 3 through the second opening 10 and can pass through the body 5 and the first opening 9 perpendicular to the direction D and parallel to the first strand of bracelet 1 being guided between the rod 13 and the base 14 of the body 5. The second strand of bracelet 2 is then, in the direction D, between the first strand of bracelet 1 and the base 12 of the positioning member 11 located in a recess of the base 14 of the body 5.
Once the button 6 has been released (closure of the clasp 3, see FIG 3), springs 15, one of which is visible in FIG. 3 push the positioning member assembly 11 - button 6 to its rest position and during this movement the base 12 of the positioning member 11 applies the second strand of bracelet 2 against the adhesive elements 4 carried by the first strand of bracelet 1. The contact, maintained by the springs 15, between the second bracelet strand 2 and the adhesive elements 4, blocks by adhesion the second bracelet strand 2 which can not move relative to the first bracelet strand 1 nor in a sense neither in the other as indicated by the arrows barred in fig. 3. The bracelet-clasp assembly 1, 2, 3 is locked.
A new pressure on the button 6 against the action of the springs 15 separates the second bracelet strand 2 from the adhesive elements 4, the rod 13 pushing the second strap strand 2 to move it away from the first bracelet strand 1 ( see Fig. 4). The second strand of bracelet 2 can then be moved in one direction or the other along its length as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 4, to either change the wrist tightening setting or open the wristband. A stop may be provided on the second strand of bracelet 2 to prevent it from coming out of the clasp 3, thus forming a clasp 3 where the two strands 1,2 are always connected to one another, even in the open position , like a folding clasp.
Preferably, the adhesive elements 4 are made of silicone, the adhesion between these adhesive elements 4 and the second strap strand 2 resulting mainly from an electrostatic interaction of van der Waals bonding type. Thus, in the present invention, the mechanical interaction between the second bracelet strand 2 and the adhesive elements 4 may be minimal, that is to say, be limited to a single contact. The second bracelet strand 2 need not be compressed or folded or have a male or female part cooperating with a female or male part of another room. The bracelet 1, 2 is thus protected from premature wear resulting from constraints related to the use of the clasp 3.
The present invention is however not limited to the use of silicone. Any adhesive material capable of producing a physical and / or chemical interaction (including the creation of covalent, electrostatic or magnetic bonds) with the second strand of bracelet 2 may be suitable. In the context of the present invention, the terms "adhesive" and "adhesion" refer in fact to any type of interaction producing a resistance to separation between the adhesive elements 4 and the second strand of bracelet 2 after their simple application. contact, but the interaction must be reversible without causing damage.
[0019] Referring to FIGS. 6 to 8, a strap-clasp assembly according to a second embodiment of the invention, in particular for a watch, comprises a first strand of bracelet 1, a second strand of bracelet 2 and a clasp 3 'to close the bracelet formed by the bracelet strands 1, 2.
Strands bracelet 1, 2 are made of a flexible material, for example textile, leather, plastic or rubber (natural or synthetic).
The clasp 3 'comprises a base 16 and a cover 17 hinged to the base 16. The first strand of bracelet 1 is attached by a 1a of its two ends to the base 16, a bar 18 which passes through the end 1a of the first bracelet strand 1 and two opposite side walls of the base 16 serving both as a fastener for the first bracelet strand 1 and hinge axis for the hood 17. Near its end 1a and on one of its two surfaces the first strap strand 1 carries adhesive elements 4. The cover 17 carries a rod 19 which extends parallel to the bar 18 in the direction of the width of the strap 1.2 between two side walls of the cover 17. On the side where the first bracelet strand 1 is located, the cover 17 has a lower part 20 which is aligned with the base 16 when the cover 17 is folded against the latter (closed condition of the clasp 3 '; Fig. 6 and 8). The rod 19 and the lower part 20 form a positioning member having the same function as the member 11 of the first embodiment.
To attach the bracelet strands 1, 2 to one another, the user lifts the hood 17 (see Fig. 7) and slides the second strand of bracelet 2 through the clasp 3 'between the base 16 and the hood 17 to the desired length. In the clasp 3 ', the second bracelet strand 2 is guided between the rod 19 and the lower part 20 of the hood 17, the rod 19 orienting the second bracelet strand 2 in a direction which prevents it from coming into contact with the first strand of bracelet 1 and its adhesive elements 4. Once the desired length is reached, the user lowers the cover 17. The lower part 20 of the cover 17 then applies the second strand of bracelet 2 against the adhesive elements 4 of the first strand bracelet 1 (see Fig. 8). Locking lugs 21 of the cover 17 cooperate with lugs (not shown) of the base 16 to lock the cover 17 on the base 16. Those skilled in the art will be able to adapt other locking solutions of the cover 17 to the base 16 , without any need to describe them. The clasp 3 'is thus closed and the adhesive elements 4 block the second bracelet strand 2 in both directions of its length. The clasp 3 'can then be reopened by raising the cover 17 to change the setting of the bracelet or detach the bracelet strands 1, 2 from each other. During this opening of the clasp 3 ', the rod 19 acts on the second bracelet strand 2 to separate it from the adhesive elements 4 (see Fig. 7).
The adhesive elements 4 are identical to those of the first embodiment. They can be fixed or formed in recesses of the first strand of bracelet 1, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, however projecting from these recesses to facilitate contact with the second bracelet strand 2.
Note that in addition to the advantage conferred in terms of protection against wear, the strap-clasp assembly according to the embodiments described above allows fine adjustment of wrist tightening.
Although fixing or forming the adhesive elements 4 on the first bracelet strand 1 is advantageous for the simplicity and compactness of the clasp 3,3 ', these adhesive elements 4 could in variants be fixed or formed on a surface of the clasp 3, 3 '. Preferably, the adhesive elements 4 are disposed on an inner face of the first strand of bracelet 1, that is to say a face intended to be on the side of the arm of the wearer of the bracelet, so as not to be visible to the worn.
The skilled person may also provide security means to maintain the clasp in its closed state, a specific action to be performed to bring the clasp to its open state, and thus avoid inadvertent opening.
