Description
Technical Field [0001] The present invention relates to a single-axis tourbillon watch movement.
STATE OF THE ART [0002] The movements of a mechanical watch are regulated using a regulating member which most often includes a balance spring and a pendulum. The hairspring is subjected to gravity and deforms under its own weight, which leads to a variation in the running of the watch. The deformation depends both on the inclination of the hairspring in relation to the vertical, and on the orientation of the hairspring in its own plane.
The tourbillon watch movements include a cage to hold the balance-spring balance. This cage rotates around an axis parallel or coaxial to the balance shaft. The hairspring thus successively occupies different orientations in its own plane; thus, in the vertical position, the position of attachment to the rooster goes through all the positions between the lowest point and the highest, which makes it possible to make the running of the watch independent of the way in which the hairspring is oriented in its own plan.
Conventional single-axis vortices do not, however, change the plane of the balance spring; for example, a hairspring which is in the horizontal position remains in the horizontal position throughout the rotation of the cage. The running of the watch therefore varies between the vertical position and the horizontal position, and the gain in precision is limited.
There are also known two-axis vortices, and even three-axis vortices. In these constructions, one of the axes makes it possible to vary the orientation of the balance spring in its own plane; the other axis or axes make it possible to vary the inclination of this plane relative to the vertical. These constructions are however expensive, fragile and bulky.
EP 1 564 608 describes a vortex in which the cage is mounted at an angle on its axis of rotation. This axis is perpendicular to the plate so that the inclination of the balance-spring assembly relative to the plate remains constant.
EP 1 686 435 describes a tourbillon, the cage of which is mounted perpendicular to its axis of rotation parallel to the plate. The orientation of the balance spring in its plane remains constant. The axis of rotation of the cage always remains in the plane of the balance spring.
Brief Summary of the Invention An object of the present invention is to provide a single-axis tourbillon watch movement free from the limitations of known movements.
Another object of the invention is to provide a tourbillon watch movement different from the existing movements.
Another object of the invention is to provide a single-axis tourbillon watch movement that is more precise than known single-axis tourbillon watch movements.
Another object of the invention is to provide a tourbillon watch movement in which the movement of the regulating member creates an interesting animation for the observer.
According to the invention, these aims are achieved in particular by means of a single-axis tourbillon watch movement comprising: a plate;
a fixed wheel inclined relative to the plate;
a tourbillon cage mounted at an angle around its axis of rotation which is perpendicular to the fixed wheel and inclined relative to the plate;
a balance-spring assembly mounted on a balance shaft perpendicular to the cage, so that the inclination of the balance-spring assembly relative to the plate changes during rotation of the cage.
Each point of the cage and the hairspring travels a circular trajectory in an inclined plane relative to the plate and relative to the fixed wheel.
This solution allows both to vary the inclination of the balance spring relative to the plate, and to vary the angle between the plane of the balance spring and the axis of rotation of the cage. This results in better averaging of the walk.
To minimize the thickness of the movement, the plate may have an opening in which the fixed wheel is housed at least partially in an inclined manner relative to the axis of the opening. The opening can pass through the plate.
In one embodiment, the fixed wheel is inclined by 45 ° relative to the plate. The angle between the cage and the axis of rotation of the cage is 45 °. In this configuration, the balance shaft passes at each turn through a position parallel to the plate and through a position perpendicular to the plate. This results in excellent averaging since the hairspring passes every minute through a horizontal position and through a vertical position. Furthermore, it results in an interesting animation of the movement which allows both to observe the hairspring well and to contemplate a non-trivial trajectory of the regulating organ.
CH 713 738 A1 The tourbillon is advantageously a flying tourbillon.
The tourbillon cage can have two boards. This arrangement makes it possible to observe the balance spring and the balance.
Brief description of the figures Examples of implementation of the invention are indicated in the description illustrated by the appended figures in which:
Fig. 1A illustrates a front view of a movement according to the invention, the hairspring being parallel to the plate.
Fig. 1B illustrates a first side view of the movement in the position of FIG. 1A.
Fig. 1C illustrates a second side view of the movement in the position of FIG. 1 A.
Fig. 2A illustrates a front view of a movement according to the invention, the hairspring being parallel to the plate.
Fig. 2B illustrates a first side view of the movement in the position of FIG. 2A.
Fig. 2C illustrates a second side view of the movement in the position of FIG. 2A.
Example (s) of embodiment of the invention The watch movement 1 illustrated in the figures comprises a regulating member 2 mounted on a plate 3. The time is displayed by means of hands 6 in front of a dial 5 , here a small eccentric dial. The reference 4 generally designates the train between the barrel (not shown), the regulating member 2 and the hands 6.
The regulating member comprises a vortex with a fixed wheel 12, here a second wheel provided with a conical internal toothing 120. The fixed wheel is inclined relative to the plate 3, in this example 45 °. It is partially housed in an opening 30 passing through the plate. As can be seen in particular in FIG. 1B, the fixed wheel 12 protrudes below and above the plate 3. The impact on the total thickness of the movement is reduced thanks to this opening 30.
In the example illustrated, the tourbillon carriage, formed by the two boards 10 and 18, performs one revolution per minute. Whirlpools rotating at a different speed or discontinuously can also be imagined within the scope of the invention.
The regulating member includes in particular a hairspring 9 and a balance 8 mounted on a balance shaft 13 perpendicular to the two boards 10, 18 of the cage. The plane of the balance spring and the plane of the balance wheel are therefore parallel to the two plates 10, 18 and pivot with the cage.
The upper plate 10 is not supported; the tourbillon is therefore a flying tourbillon.
An exhaust comprising an escape wheel 15 and an anchor 17 is also mounted in the cage 10, 18. The escape wheel 15 is mounted on an escape wheel shaft 14 perpendicular to the two boards 10, 18 from the cage. The plane of the escape wheel and the plane of the anchor are therefore also parallel to the two boards 10, 18 and pivot with the cage.
The boards 10, 18 are inclined relative to the fixed wheel 12. In the example, the angle of inclination is 45 °. They rotate around a geometric axis a perpendicular to the fixed wheel 12 and passing through the center of this fixed wheel. The boards 10, 18 as well as the hairspring 9, the balance 8 and the exhaust components therefore pass from a position parallel to the plate 3, as illustrated in FIGS. 1A to 1C, at a position perpendicular to this plate and illustrated in figs. 2A to 2C, passing through all the intermediate positions. The reference a designates the angle between the axis of rotation a of the cage and the plane of the balance spring; this angle changes from 135 ° in the position of fig. 1 to 45 ° in the position of fig. 2. Each point of the balance spring therefore travels a circle around the axis a every minute.
A bevel gear 16 on the shaft of the escapement wheel meshes with the fixed wheel 12 and thus puts the assembly of the cage 10, 18 and of the components carried by this cage in rotation.
The exhaust is driven by the gear train 4 through a shaft not shown, parallel to the shafts 13 and 14 and the lower end of which is provided with a bevel gear not shown and coaxial with the fixed wheel 12.
