Description
TECHNICAL SECTOR OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a sports shoe, in particular a shoe or ski boot, usable for downhill skiing or ski touring, or a snowboard shoe or boot, which includes an adjustment device for allowing the cuff of said sports shoe to assume a first position in which the backward rotation is blocked and a second position in which this rotation is free.
BASIC TECHNIQUE OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Currently, there are known sports shoes, in particular ski or snowboard boots, which comprise a rigid shell, generally made of plastic material and enveloping the foot, to which at least one rigid cuff is generally associated for the wrapping and support of at least a portion of the lower part of the leg. The cuff is generally associated with the hull in a revolving manner around a transversal axis corresponding approximately to the axis of the malleoli. Inside the hull and the cuff, a soft liner can be held in a fixed or removable way to comfortably house the foot and lower leg.
[0003] A problem particularly felt in the field of sports shoes of the type described above, and in particular in shoes or boots that can be used for winter sports such as downhill skiing, ski mountaineering or snowboarding, lies in the ability of the shoe to adapt to the different conditions of use, both during sports activities and during transfers on foot or with the sports equipment - ski or snowboard - hooked, in order to provide the user with optimal comfort during transfers and an adequate level of performance during the skiing that is necessary to guarantee the optimal transmission of the forces exerted by the user's leg to the sports equipment and allow a correct running and a continuous and precise control of the tool during sports activity.
[0004] For this purpose devices known as, for example, DE 2 807 371 and US 4 934 075 are devices which allow sports footwear to assume a skiing configuration, or "ski", in which the backward oscillation of the cuff is prevented and only forward swing is allowed, and a walk configuration, or "walk", in which the oscillation is left free in both directions.
[0005] The mode of operation of these devices, which comprise a suitably shaped block which can be actuated by means of a knob or a lever, consists essentially in engaging or disengaging the block with a stop disposed rearwardly of the hull. The swinging back of the cuff is therefore prevented when the block engages the stop while, when the block is disengaged, the cuff can swing freely even backwards.
[0006] Although these devices are effective in achieving the two configurations, they have some drawbacks.
[0007] A first drawback resides in the fact that the device is mounted on the rear part of the cuff, making the operation of actuation of the device to pass from the skiing configuration to the walking configuration, and vice versa, difficult for the user, who he must bend down and twist his torso backwards to grasp and activate the actuator of the device, generally a knob or a lever. The operation is made even more difficult if the shoe is attached to the sports tool.
[0008] Another drawback resides in the constructive complexity of such devices, which must be made to ensure the total reliability of the rear seal, that is, to prevent the cuff from accidentally rotating backwards during skiing with serious consequences for the user.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The main task of the present invention is therefore to devise a sports shoe, and in particular a ski or snowboard boot, comprising a cuff adjustment device capable of allowing the cuff to assume a first position in which the rotation at the back is locked and a second position in which this rotation is free, able to overcome the drawbacks of the known art.
[0010] Within the scope of the task described above, an object of the present invention is to provide a sports shoe in which the operation of actuating the adjustment device is easy for the user.
[0011] Another object is to devise a sports shoe in which the adjustment device is constructively simplified and able to guarantee the optimum reliability of the rear seal.
[0012] Another object is to provide a sports shoe comprising a cuff adjustment device which achieves the aforementioned task and objects at extremely competitive costs and is easily achievable with the usual and known systems, machinery and equipment.
[0013] The above-mentioned task and objects, and others which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a sports shoe comprising a cuff adjustment device as defined in claim 1.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0014] Further features and the advantages of the present invention will become more evident from the following description of a particular, but not exclusive, embodiment illustrated purely by way of non-limiting example with reference to the attached figures, in which: fig. 1 shows, in a schematic side elevation view, a sports shoe, in particular a ski boot comprising an adjustment device according to the present invention in the skiing (ski) configuration; fig. 2 represents, according to a view similar to the preceding one, the ski boot in a transitory configuration of passage from the skiing position to the walking position (walk); fig. 3 represents, according to a view similar to the previous ones, the ski boot in the walk configuration; fig. from 4 to 6 show, according to views similar to the previous ones, a boot, respectively in «ski» configuration, transient and «walk», provided with a first example of actuator means of the device; fig. 7 and 8 show a boot provided with a second example of actuator means of the device; fig. 9 is an exploded view of a first embodiment of the device according to the present invention; fig. 10 is an exploded view of a second embodiment of the device according to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0015] With reference to the aforementioned figures, a sports shoe 1, for example a ski boot, comprises, according to the prior art, at least one rigid hull 2, enveloping the foot and at least a portion of the leg, to which it is rotatably associated , by means of a pair of studs 4 arranged at the sides of the shell 2, at least one rigid leg portion 3 for winding and supporting one or more portions of the lower part of the leg. The leg portion 3 can therefore oscillate with respect to the shell 2 about a substantially transverse axis defined by the centers of the studs 4. In the skiing configuration, shown in figs. 1 and 4, the rearward oscillation of the quarter 3 is limited by a abutment surface 14 projecting rearwardly from the shell 2 and adapted to interact with a portion of the lower rear edge of the quarter 3 to perform the so-called "rear seal" function , i.e. preventing the cuff 3 from rotating freely backwards, compromising the skier's balance with possible serious consequences.
[0016] The shell 2 and the leg portion 3 can be closed around the foot and the lower part of the leg by known clamping devices, such as hook levers 5 suitable for clamping together the edges of the shell 2 and of the leg portion 3.
[0017] The inventive concept underlying the present invention consists in making at least one of the flashing points of the leg 3 movable to the shell 2 so that the cuff 3 can assume the walking position, also called the "walk" position, simply "Bypassing" the abutment surface 14 on the shell 2 to allow the cuff 3 to rotate freely backwards to facilitate walking, as shown schematically in Figs. 2, 3 and 5, 6.
[0018] For this purpose, at least one of the two pivoting points of the cuff is movable along a guide defined by the adjustment device according to the present invention, which is applicable on at least one of the two sides of the leg portion 3 in correspondence with one of the two studs 4.
[0019] According to a first embodiment, shown in fig. 9, the adjustment device according to the present invention comprises a washer 6 housed in a corresponding first opening 7 suitably formed in the leg portion 3. The washer 6 is integrally connected to the leg portion 3 and is centrally provided with a circular guide 15, constituted by a first through hole.
[0020] The boss 4 is coaxially connected to the washer 6 and has a pin 8, advantageously made in one piece with the boss 4 and internally hollow, passing through the guide 15 of the washer 6 and the first opening 7 and adapted to engage in a second hole 9 formed on the shell 2. The pin 8 is arranged eccentrically with respect to the center of the boss 4, and consequently is also eccentric with respect to the center of the washer 6, and constitutes the pivoting point, ie the center of oscillation, of the leg 3 on the shell 2. At the pin 8, the boss 4 has an opening 10 communicating with the internal cavity of the pin 8. Naturally an alternating arrangement, with the first opening 7 and relative washer 6 on the shell 2 and second hole 9 on the leg portion 3, must be considered equivalent to the provision described above.
[0021] A check plate 11 is arranged on the inner wall of the shell 2 and is adapted to engage with suitable fixing means 12, such as a screw or a rivet, passing axially through the opening 10 of the boss 4 and the internal cavity of the pin 8. The engagement between the fixing means 12 and the plate 11 blocks the boss 4 and the washer 6 allowing the cuff 3 to be rotatably connected to the shell 2.
[0022] To the stud 4 actuator means 13 can be associated whose function will be better explained in the following.
[0023] The arrangement described above allows, under the action of a force, or rather of a torque applied by the user on the boss 4, to impose a rotation on the stud 4 itself in such a way as to cause a sliding of the eccentric pin 8 along the circular guide 15 of the washer 6.
[0024] The movement of the eccentric pin 8 along the guide 15 therefore allows the pivoting point of the cuff 3 to be displaced with respect to the shell 2, causing, when the pin is lifted upwards, ie away from the lower edges of the cuff, a buckling which raises upwards the portion of leg portion 3 affected by the boss 4, thus allowing the overlapping of the abutment surface 14 and thus the free oscillation of the leg portion 3 in the "walk" configuration (fig. 2, 3).
[0025] A rotation of the boss 4 in the opposite direction, to lower the pin 8 along the guide 15 bringing it closer to the lower edge of the leg portion 3, brings the rear edge of the latter back into engagement with the ledge 14 to prevent oscillation of the 'back in the «ski» configuration (fig. 2,1).
[0026] The actuator means 13 to allow the user to apply the torque necessary to rotate the stud 4 can be constituted by a suitable knob, which can be raised in the operative phase and lowered during the rest phase, or by one of the clamping devices of the boot, such as the lever arm 13A of one of the hook levers 5, as exemplified in figs. from 4 to 6, or a hooking element 13B, such as a hooking ring to the rack as exemplified in Figs. 7 and 8, or the rack itself. In this case, the arm or the coupling element are articulated to a base connected to the boss 4.
[0027] In fig. 10 shows a second embodiment of the adjustment device according to the present invention, which comprises a washer 106 rotatably housed in a corresponding circular guide 115, consisting of a third opening 107 suitably formed in the shell 102. The washer 106 is provided with a third hole 100 arranged eccentrically with respect to the center of the washer 106.
[0028] The boss 104 is rotatably constrained to the washer 106 by means of a pin 108 passing through a fourth hole 110 formed centrally of the boss 104, a fifth hole 109 formed on the leg portion 103 and the third hole 100 on the washer 106 to engage with a check plate 111 arranged on the inner wall of the shell 102 in order to rotatably constrain the cuff 103 to the shell 102. Advantageously, the check plate 111 is made in a single piece, or in any case is made integral with the washer 106.
[0029] The pin 108, and consequently the boss 104, are then arranged eccentrically with respect to the washer 106, constituting the pin 108 the point of pivoting, that is the center of oscillation, of the leg 103 on the shell 102.
[0030] The actuator means 113 can be the same as in the previous embodiment, namely a suitable lifting and lowering knob or an element of a gripping device of the boot such as a lever arm or a coupling element suitably articulated on a base connected to the boss 104 to be able to be raised when the rotation of the boss must be carried out 104.
[0031] The operating principle is substantially the same as in the previous embodiment: a rotation applied to the stud 104 through the actuator means 113 imposes a rotation on the washer 106 in which the pin 108 is eccentrically engaged; thanks to the eccentricity of the coupling, the rotation of the washer 106 causes the displacement of the pin 108, and therefore of the pivoting point of the leg 103, along the circular guide 115. The raising of the pivoting point allows to override the contact surface on the hull and therefore to bring the cuff 103 into a "walk" configuration, while the lowering of the pivoting point brings the cuff 103 back to the "ski" position.
[0032] From the foregoing it is evident that the present invention achieves the objects and advantages initially envisaged: a sports shoe, and in particular a ski or snowboard boot, having in fact provided a cuff adjustment device capable of allowing the cuff to assume a first position in which the backward rotation is locked and a second position in which this rotation is free, able to overcome the drawbacks of the known art, in particular making the operation of the operation easier for the user of the adjustment device.
[0033] Furthermore, the adjustment device is constructively simplified and able to guarantee the optimum reliability of the rear seal, in addition to not interfering with the overall aesthetics of the shoe as it is completely integrated in the stud. This latter aspect is further appreciated in the case in which an element already present on the shoe, such as the lever arm or the fastening element of the clamping device, is used as an actuator.
[0034] Naturally, the invention is susceptible of numerous applications, modifications or variations without thereby departing from the scope of protection as defined by claim 1. Furthermore, the materials and equipment used for carrying out the present invention, as well as the shapes and the dimensions of the individual components, may be the most suitable according to specific needs.
