Description
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE [0001] The invention relates to the field of watchmaking, in particular to display devices, and more particularly to watch hands.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] Generally, in timepieces, the watch hands are fixed on their rotary shaft by driving, that is to say a hollow cylinder, in this case the gun, is forced on an axis having a diameter slightly greater than the internal diameter of the cylinder. The elastic and plastic properties of the material used, generally a metal, are used for this hunting. Thus, it is possible to drive a hollow cylinder on a conventional rotation shaft such as those used in mechanical watchmaking, with a diameter difference of a few microns.
In addition, the attachment of a needle must provide sufficient force to hold the needle in place during shocks. The force required for a conventional watchmaking needle is for example of the order of 10 N to 40 N.
To solve these problems, it has already been proposed to make needles with a barrel having one or more slots parallel to the axis of rotation and open at the opposite end of the needle so that the barrel deforms elastically. Such an example of attachment is described in particular in EP 1 659 460.
The watchmaking needle described above has several drawbacks. We first mention that the slots on the barrel weaken the latter, which implies the realization of slits of extremely small width to not weaken the barrel. It will also be mentioned that the machining operations are complex to obtain the finest slots possible while respecting the width and length to obtain the desired driving force, which implies an increase in costs and production time. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0006] One of the objectives of the invention is to overcome the various drawbacks of these known techniques.
The invention aims, at least in a particular embodiment, to provide a watchmaker needle with a holding force of the needle on the satisfactory axis while preventing it from pivoting on its axis when shocks or strong acceleration.
These objectives, as well as others which will appear more clearly later, are achieved according to the invention with the aid of a display device comprising an axis connected to drive means, and a needle. indicator for a timepiece comprising a body and a barrel of cylindrical shape, intended to be driven on the axis.
According to the invention, said axis has at least one flat for cooperating with the barrel so as to deform elastically or plastically the barrel on either side of said at least one flat to fix the needle on the axis .
According to other advantageous variants of the invention: - said at least one flat forms a free space, said empty area, between said axis and the barrel, said empty area always being greater than zero, and preferably included between 3% and 7% of the area of the axis; said at least one flat extends over all or part of the height of said axis; the barrel and the body of the needle are made of a metal alloy such as a cuprous alloy, a gold alloy, a steel alloy or an aluminum alloy.
The invention also relates to a timepiece equipped with a movement comprising a needle outlet formed by an axis and an indicator needle according to the invention, said axis having a diameter substantially similar to the diameter of the barrel so as to resiliently hold the needle on said needle outlet.
Thus, the object of the present invention, by its various functional and structural aspects described above, provides a good maintenance of the needle on its axis, especially during shocks or strong accelerations.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS [0014] A display device according to an exemplary embodiment will now be described in the following with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
As previously mentioned, the general principle of the invention is based on the use of a display device comprising an axis 2 connected to driving means such as a watch movement, and a pointer needle 1 for a timepiece conventionally comprising a body 11 and a barrel 10 intended to be driven on the axis 2, the barrel 10 having a diameter similar to the diameter Dax of the axis 2.
The body 11 and the barrel 10 can be indifferently formed by stamping, machining by chip removal, laser machining, cutting punching, or any other machining known to those skilled in the art.
According to a first embodiment of the invention, the barrel 10 and the body 11 of the needle 1 are two separate elements, the barrel being attached to the body 11 during assembly of the needle.
According to a second embodiment of the invention, the barrel 10 and the body 11 form a monobloc element.
The body 11 and the barrel 10 of the needle 1 can be made of metal alloys such as copper alloys such as brass, bronze, gold alloys, aluminum alloys or aluminum alloys. 'steel. Of course, in the case where the barrel 10 is attached to the body 11 of the needle 1, the body 11 and the barrel 10 can be made of different materials. Of course, any other type of alloy known to those skilled in the art for the manufacture of needles can be envisaged.
According to the invention, the axis 2 has a cylindrical shape and comprises at least one flat surface 20 which is arranged to cooperate with the barrel of the needle so as to elastically deform the barrel 10 locally on either side of the flat part 20, which makes it possible to obtain a good hold of the barrel 10 on the axis 2 while preventing it from turning on the axis 2.
Preferably, the flat 20 is made so as to remove 10% to 30% of material on the axis 2. Such a material removal rate makes it possible to obtain a good maintenance of the needle on its axis. .
According to a variant of the invention, not shown in the figures, the axis 2 may have several flats. For example, the axis 2 may have two opposite flats, or several flats so as to have a hexagonal section, or triangular with three lobes.
For the sake of clarity and understanding, we will describe later the embodiment with an axis 2 having a single flat 20.
According to the invention, the flat portion 20 extends over all or part of the height of the axis 10. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the flat portion 12 extends over part of the height of the barrel 10.
According to the non-limiting embodiment illustrated in FIG. 3, the distance between the flat part 20 and the wall of the barrel 10, opposite the flat, represents 3% to 7% of the diameter of the axis 2 so as to provide a sufficient holding force on the axis 2.
As illustrated in FIG. 3, the axis 2 has a flat portion 20 deforming the barrel and locally reducing the diameter of the barrel 10 so that the diameter of the barrel 10 is smaller than the diameter of the axis 2 at the flattened portion 20.
With this characteristic, the flattened portion 20 ensures the elastic clamping of the barrel 10 on the axis 2.
Indeed, when the barrel 10 is driven on the axis 2, the axis 2 and the flat 20 come to exert a force on the barrel 10 and away from its initial position, which has the effect of deforming the walls of the barrel 10 located on either side of the flat surface 20. Thus, the barrel 10 fits the dimensions of the axis 2 which holds the needle 1 on the axis 2. The flat 20 thus offers a force sufficient holding to hold the needle 1 in place in case of shock, and also sufficient to adjust its position.
As can be seen in FIG. 3, the flat 20 forms a free space between the axis 2 and the wall of the barrel 10 called "empty area" Av. The empty area Av will always be greater than zero and will be dimensioned so that the holding of the needle 1 desired depending on the stiffness and geometry of the barrel 10.
It will also be noted that the orientation of the needle 1 during the driving is not related to the position of the flat surface 20 on the axis 2.
With these different aspects of the invention, there is a robust watch hand, easy to assemble and providing good support on its axis.
Of course, the present invention is not limited to the example shown and is susceptible to various variations and modifications that will occur to those skilled in the art. It will be understood that the invention is also applicable for example for a meter disk such as a moon phase disk, in order to have a better resistance to rotating shocks.
