Description TECHNICAL FIELD The invention relates to a multi-purpose barbecue for outdoor use.
Background Art [0002] Outdoor grills are known in many variations. They each have a fire bowl in which a fire - be it by coal, wood or gas - is produced to prepare food on a grill arranged above. Some grills can be used in addition to the application as a grill as a simple fire bowl (with or without spark arrester).
Lately, so-called BBQ Smoker enjoy great popularity. These have a fire chamber and a more or less separate from the fire chamber smoking or cooking chamber. Foods are predominantly cooked in the smoker or guard chamber at lower temperatures than in the firebox. Typical BBQ smoker, as they are known for example from US 6,209,533, are much larger than conventional grills built by the firebox is arranged laterally offset down next to the closed smoking or cooking chamber. The flue gases from the fire chamber pass through an opening in the cooking chamber, flow through it and escape through an oppositely disposed fireplace into the environment. The cooking chamber is ideally heated to temperatures between 60 and 110 degrees Celsius. BBQ smokers are unsuitable for use as a traditional grill or as a simple fire bowl.
To use the cheaper and smaller conventional grills as BBQ smoker (so-called multi-purpose grills), e.g. from US 2012 192 722, US 5 909 729, US 5 768 977, US 4 512 249, US 2009 199 842, US 6 016 797, US 3 224 357 and US 7 832 330, convertible multipurpose grills or smoker adapters for grills.
In this case, the cooking chamber is arranged vertically above the smokehouse in most variants. On the one hand, this leads to a relatively high construction, which makes it difficult either to refuel fuel or to handle the food. On the other hand, the temperature regulation in the smokehouse is difficult in these vertical variants, which usually leads to excessive cooking temperatures. The multipurpose grills with horizontally arranged fire and cooking chambers, which are known from US Pat. Nos. 3,224,357 and 7,332,330, have an irregular flue gas distribution and an exact temperature control in the cooking chamber is hardly possible.
An object of the invention is to provide a multipurpose grilling device which is designed such that in addition to the use as a fire bowl with or without spark protection, or as a grill and / or cooking appliance, in a simple manner, a conversion allowed in a smoker with fire and cooking chamber, in which the temperature in the cooking chamber can be easily regulated.
This is achieved by a multi-purpose barbecue according to claim 1. The multi-purpose outdoor use grille device comprises a fire bowl which is separated into a first fire half-shell and a second fire half-shell by means of a vertical partition disposed centrally in the fire bowl. The partition wall is closed (i.e., without through-holes, so that there is no passage for flue gas between the two half-shells), and the first fire half-shell and the second fire half-shell are each provided with a regulatable air supply opening, so that the two fire half-shells are independently operable. Further, the multi-purpose barbecue includes a centrally located in the fire bowl attachment tower with two fasteners for attachment of utensils, especially grill grates, cooking containers, spark guards or smoker pans, wherein the first attachment means in resp. is arranged above the first fire half-shell and the second fastening device in resp. is arranged above the second fire half-shell.
The partition, which is preferably firmly connected to the fire bowl, extends to the bottom of the fire half shell. Both half-shells have on both sides of the partition each have a separate, adjustable air supply opening. Thus, the multi-purpose griller has two independently operable fire shells on which on the one hand when used as a conventional grill grates, cooking vessels or the like can be attached, for example, can be grilled on one side and cooked on the other side. On the other hand, when using the multi-purpose barbecue as a simple fire bowl to the fastening devices each a spark or splash protection can be attached. Such a multi-purpose barbecue can also be used simply as a smoker by only a smoker on the multi-purpose grill is mounted, which above the two fire shells a Feuer- resp. Cooking chamber formed, which are connected via a flue. Since the two fire shells have independent air supply openings, they can also be regulated independently of each other.
[0009] In some embodiments, the multi-purpose griller may include a smoker device for retrofitting to a smoker, which may be placed on the fire bowl depending on the desired mode of operation of the multi-purpose griller. The smoker device comprises a smoker housing ending in an interior and a vertical smoker partition, wherein in the assembled state the smoker partition wall in the interior of the smoker housing is arranged adjacent to the partition wall of the fire bowl and divides the interior into two chambers, each of which together with one of the two fire shells Training fire chamber and a cooking chamber. The Smokertrennwand is placed on the already existing in the fire bowl partition during conversion. The smoker case is placed on the edges of the fire bowl during conversion.
In some embodiments, the smokers separation wall may comprise at least one flue gas channel having a firebox side flue gas inlet opening and a smoke chamber flue gas outlet opening, wherein the flue gas inlet opening is arranged in the upper region of the firebox and the flue gas outlet opening is arranged in the lower region of the cooking chamber.
In some embodiments, the smokers separation wall and / or the partition of the fire bowl may be formed heat-insulating, which allows an improved temperature regulation in the cooking chamber.
In some embodiments, the Smokertrennwand for better distribution of flue gas on both sides of the attachment tower each having a flue gas channel.
In some embodiments, the smoker housing and / or the Smokertrennwand may be constructed in several parts for ease of assembly. The smoker housing may have a chimney opening in the area of the cooking chamber. The smoker case may be provided with a door in the area of the cooking chamber and in the area of the firebox.
In some embodiments, the attachment means may comprise a plurality of attachment means to which the utensils are attachable at different heights above the fire half-shell.
In some embodiments, the attachment tower may comprise first and second lifting means for steplessly adjusting the height of the first and second attachment means, respectively, wherein the two lifting means are independently operable, e.g. by hand or electrically.
In some embodiments, the fastening device may be slidably mounted along the attachment tower by means of the lifting device.
In some embodiments, the lifting device may comprise a rack or a cable or chain hoist, wherein a drive unit of the lifting device may be arranged below the fire bowl.
