Description: [0001] The invention relates to a rail vehicle with a center light and to a method for operating the rail vehicle.
On-road vehicles usually have a plurality of bulbs, which are each suitable to emit light in different colors or brightnesses, in particular to indicate the other road users a predetermined operating condition of the vehicle. For example, motor vehicles have brake lights or turn signals that emit light correspondingly during braking or turning operations.
Rail vehicles of local passenger transport, especially trams, are often perceived by other road users as buses and thereby underestimated in terms of approach speed and eventual effects of a collision. To delineate buses, some trams therefore have a centrally located in the roof area top light. In addition, it is often not apparent from the outside whether the rail vehicle is about to start from a stop, or whether it has just approached the stop and passengers are still getting off and / or on board. In the case of check-in, a signal tone usually sounds when the door is closed, which, however, is particularly difficult to perceive by motorists.
The invention has for its object to delineate a rail vehicle in its different operating conditions of the other road users and thus to increase the safety of all road users.
The problem is solved by the subject matters of the independent claims. Further developments and refinements of the invention can be found in the features of the respective dependent claims.
A railway vehicle according to the invention, in particular a tram, comprises a center light arranged on the front side, which comprises a plurality of lighting means which are each suitable for emitting light in at least two mutually different colors. The bulbs are independently controllable. In addition, the lighting means are optionally controllable independently of an operating state of the rail vehicle. For controlling the lighting means independently of one another and optionally independently of the operating state of the rail vehicle, the rail vehicle comprises at least one control device which is suitable and designed to excite the lighting means independently of one another for emission of light. Thus, different information can be displayed with only one center light. The rail vehicle further comprises exactly each means on each end face of the rail vehicle. One front side forms the front and another end side the rear of the rail vehicle.
The central light forms in particular a structural unit. The bulbs are summarized accordingly in this common unit. The cladding of the rail vehicle, for example, has an opening on the front side, in which the center light is arranged.
Taillights or headlights of motor vehicles are often summarized, for example, with turn signals in a common unit. However, these can not serve the demarcation of trams. Also can be signaled with these no other operating conditions of the tram. The center light according to the invention significantly increases the safety of all road users.
The bulbs of the center light are to be driven and thus to stimulate the emission of light to signal several, in particular more than two, in particular more than three predetermined operating states of the rail vehicle. Although the rail vehicle is developed further, the illuminants of a center light independently and independently of an operating state of the rail vehicle to stimulate the emission of light, however, it can be operated so that the light source of a center light independently and depending on a predetermined operating condition of the rail vehicle for emission be excited by light. At least three, in particular at least four operating states are predetermined.
Thus, the driver is given the opportunity to stimulate the light source of the center light regardless of the operating state of the rail vehicle for the emission of light and thus to generate a signal independent of the operating state light signal. For example, when entering a stop, a predetermined first light signal, for example the tram line, could be displayed in a first color. Now, however, it is possible, in contrast to a brake light or a turn signal, this first light signal, e.g. at risk for persons on the road in front of the rail vehicle to change in a second light signal, for example, in a flashing signal in a second color, without the operating condition of the rail vehicle, however, changed, so here, for example, no emergency braking is initiated.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the lighting means of the center light are automatically excited in response to a predetermined first operating state of the rail vehicle for the emission of light of a first light signal. The light sources of the center light can be excited manually independently of the first operating state of the rail vehicle in which the rail vehicle is located, in order to emit light of a second light signal different from the first light signal. For controlling the lighting means, the rail vehicle may have at least one manually operable control element, for example a switch or other input devices, such as keyboards, control panels or touch displays.
In addition to the perceptible for human colors, which are in the range between 380 nm and 780 nm of the electromagnetic spectrum, here are the colors of white and black considered to be covered.
Developed include the bulbs of the center light light-emitting diodes, in particular RGB LEDs. These can be controlled in a simple manner individually or in segments and stimulate the emission of light.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the center light is arranged below a windshield of the rail vehicle. Alternatively, it can also be arranged behind a windshield or integrated into it. In particular, the vertical distance of the center light to the rails is not more than 1.3 m, in particular not more than 0.4 m. It is arranged horizontally in the middle. Thus, the central longitudinal plane of the rail vehicle divides the center light into two equal halves, for example, a longitudinal axis of the rail vehicle intersects the center light, in particular so that the center of gravity of the light emission surface of the center light is located on the longitudinal axis of the rail vehicle.
The center light is suitable according to a further development as a front light and designed accordingly. The light sources of the center light are in particular designed to emit in each case a luminous flux of at least 500 Im (lumens), in particular of at least 3000 Im. This applies in a further developed manner for all colors that are emitted by the center light.
Further developed, the central light has a light emission area of at least 5 dm2, in particular of at least 50 dm2.
In particular, the central light is designed around and has a diameter of at least 0.3 m, in particular of at least 0.8 m on. At least some of the plurality of center-light bulbs may be arranged to form a ring.
The center light according to one embodiment, in addition to the bulbs and at least one reflector, which focuses the light of the bulbs. It is also possible to provide a plurality of reflectors, which concentrate light of several or individual light sources of the center light. The light emerges from a transparent or colored pane, in particular for the protection of the lighting means, for example a clear glass, a diffuser or a color filter. The light emission surface then corresponds to an area of the transparent clear glass, the diffuser or the color filter, through which light of the light source passes. Additionally or alternatively, the center light may include one or more lenses for diffusing or focusing the light. If at least one lens is provided instead of the disk, the light emission surface of the center light is determined by the lens. The disk or the lens form the last links of the center light in the beam path of the light emitted by the bulbs.
In operation of the rail vehicle, the bulbs of the center light are excited independently of each other and in response to at least one or more predetermined operating conditions of the rail vehicle for the emission of light.
In general, a state of a system is defined as the entirety of all information sufficient to fully describe the system at a particular time, the fixed characteristics of the system being known. Operating conditions of a rail vehicle include, for example, the state of motion, the loading state of the rail vehicle or the handling status of the rail vehicle. The state of motion of the rail vehicle may also include the position of the rail vehicle relative to a stop.
If the rail vehicle comprises a center light per end face, the light sources, in particular during the travel of the rail vehicle, can be excited to emit light such that a front center light emits light in a first color, and a rear center light emits light in a second Color emits which first and second colors are different from each other. Thus, the front center light could emit white light while the rail vehicle is running and the rear center light could emit red light.
