Description [0001] The present invention relates to a fall arrest system in particular of the type comprising a retractable device.
[0002] Falls from above almost always have serious consequences. The construction sector, in particular, is characterized by the highest number of fatal accidents resulting from falls from high connected with the performance of work at height.
[0003] This danger also occurs in other sectors, in situations where an operator must perform work at height.
[0004] For example, it is mentioned in the places where an overhead crane is used to carry materials that are often superimposed on each other and the operator to mount the hooks of the bridge crane to the materials must rise above them.
[0005] To avoid dangerous consequences in the event of work at height, a system must be set up to ensure the user of a fixed anchorage point in order to prevent or safely stop falling from above.
[0006] Taking inspiration again from the places where an overhead crane is used, they are often used as safety elements for operators of fall arrest systems with retractable type UNI 360, which are variable length devices that connect a fixed point and the operator's harness and are characterized by a self-locking function and an automatic tension and return system for the lanyard.
[0007] These devices are fixed directly on the bridge crane and the operator must use a pole for their use in order to recover the connection ring and fix it to his harness.
[0008] The difficulty and waste of time to recover this ring is clear.
[0009] Alternatively, the ring can be fixed at man height so that the operator does not have problems for his recovery. But the device, in this case, cannot be fixed to the bridge crane due to its displacements. A situation of this kind can be used if the retractable device is fixed in a fixed place, for example, on the roof of a shed.
[0010] The object of the present invention is to provide a fall arrest system in particular of the type comprising a retractable device which does not have the drawbacks of the known art.
[0011] According to the present invention, these aims and others are achieved by a fall arrest system of an operator comprising a retractable device fixed at a height comprising a fixing hook to the operator characterized in that it comprises extensible and retractable means on command connected to said fixing hook.
[0012] Further characteristics of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
[0013] Thanks to the present invention a retractable device is used which does not waste time for the recovery of the ring even when it is fixed on a bridge crane.
[0014] Furthermore, the cable does not hinder normal work operations as when it is fixed at man height.
[0015] Even the pantograph does not hinder normal work as it is extended only in the event of recovery or storage of the hook.
[0016] The characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become clear from the following detailed description of an embodiment thereof, illustrated by way of a non-limiting example in the enclosed drawings, in which: fig. 1 schematically shows a fall arrest system, seen retracted, according to the present invention; fig. 2 schematically shows a fall arrest system, seen in an extended manner, according to the present invention; fig. 3 shows schematically in more detail a fall arrest system, seen retracted, according to the present invention.
[0017] Referring to the attached figures, according to the present invention, a bridge crane 10 of a known type is seen comprising a horizontal beam 11 which has the possibility of moving along a direction perpendicular to the beam itself. The beam 11 comprises a winch for moving the materials.
[0018] A track 12 is fixed below or to the side of the beam 11 by means of attachments 13 arranged periodically along the entire length. The connections 13, come from one side, bolted to the structure of the beam 11, and from the other embrace the track 12.
[0019] The track 12 is preferably as long as the beam 11, and can be a single track along the beam or two tracks one on the right and one on the left of a central portion of the rail without rail.
[0020] A motorized pantograph 14 is fixed to the beam 11 directly on it or on the track 12 and can be extended downwards on command.
