专利说明:

The invention relates to a connection device for a sanitary fitting.
In sanitary fittings with two ports that need to be connected to the water line, connection devices are used, which are known as S-ports. Such connection devices have two connecting pieces, one of which is intended for the water pipe in the wall, while the other is intended for the sanitary fitting. Both connecting pieces have a mutual offset. By more or less wide rotation of two such connection devices tolerance differences between the water pipes in the wall and the connections of the sanitary fitting can be compensated.
In a known connection device of this type (DE 20 003 138 U1) in the wall of the associated connection piece a rotatable about the axis of this connecting piece valve element is arranged, with the aid of which the passage through the connection device can be shut off. To actuate the valve element is a through the wall of the connecting device cross-engaging from the outside operable lever.
In another known connection device of this type, a rectangular projecting receptacle for a sieve is present between the two connecting pieces. In addition, this connection device contains a shut-off valve (DE 2 042 818).
A shut-off valve in a connection device is also known (DE 1 770 072).
When installing a sanitary fitting by means of two such connection means is an adjustment in such a way that the sanitary fitting is arranged horizontally after installation. It is not possible to determine beforehand how the orientation of the offset runs between the two axes of each connection device. Cases are now conceivable in which the angular orientation of one of the two connecting stubs plays a role. For example, a connection piece for connection to the fitting could be designed such that it can only be correctly connected to the fitting in a certain angular orientation.
The invention is based on the object to provide a connection device in which it is possible, despite unforeseeable orientation of the offset between the two connecting pieces to allow an exact angular orientation of the two connecting pieces.
To solve this problem, the invention proposes a connection device with the features mentioned in claim 1. Further developments of the invention are the subject of dependent claims.
The known connection devices of this type are designed so that the two connecting pieces form an integral element. Due to the two-part design, the main characteristic of such a connection device, namely the parallel offset of the axes of the two connection stubs, is initially maintained. But it is possible by the two-part design to realize a twistability of the two connecting pieces. After aligning the sanitary fitting in the previous way then one of the two connecting pieces can still be twisted. It is therefore possible to perform an angular orientation of the connecting piece.
The type of connection between the connection device and the sanitary fitting on the one hand and the water pipe on the other depends on the circumstances. Usually, the connection with the water pipe is a screw connection.
The connection with the sanitary fitting may be a screw or other connection means. Also known compounds in which the sanitary fitting has a cylindrical receptacle into which the associated connection piece is inserted or with which the valve is pushed onto the connection piece.
It is possible that the rotatability is provided about the axis of the connecting pipe assigned to the water pipe.
But it is also possible that the rotatability is provided about the axis of the sanitary fitting associated connecting piece.
The bipartite together with the twistability is particularly advantageous if the connection device has a barrier. Since such connection devices are often arranged under a cover, also called rosette, access to the barrier must be through the rosette. The rosettes have for this purpose a small opening, which is arranged in a place where it disturbs as little as possible. But then it must be possible to be able to access the barrier through this opening. For this reason, an angular orientation of the connecting piece must be possible, in which the barrier is arranged.
According to the invention, the shut-off device can be arranged in the sanitary fitting associated connection piece.
But it is also possible that the shut-off device is arranged in the water pipe associated connection piece.
According to the invention may be provided in a development that the shut-off device can be actuated by turning a valve member about a perpendicular to the axis of the respective connecting piece axis. This is an intuitively understood activity, which is of particular interest when accessed through a rosette.
In a further development of the invention can be provided that the rotational position between the two connecting pieces can be locked. This facilitates, for example, the removal and replacement of the sanitary fitting on the corresponding connecting piece, since then no new adjustment must be made.
Further features, details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the claims and the abstract, the wording of which is incorporated by reference into the content of the description, the following description of preferred embodiments of the invention and from the drawing. Hereby show:<Tb> FIG. 1 <SEP> a longitudinal section through a connection device according to the invention;<Tb> FIG. 2 <SEP> a longitudinal section through a connection device of a second embodiment;<Tb> FIG. 3 <SEP> a longitudinal section through a connection device of a third embodiment;<Tb> FIG. FIG. 4 shows a section through a sanitary fitting with a connection device of the third embodiment; FIG.<Tb> FIG. 5 <SEP> a section through a sanitary fitting with a connection device according to a fourth embodiment.
1 contains a first connection piece 1 with an external thread 2. This connection piece is intended to be screwed to the water pipe. At the end facing away from the free end 3 of the thread 2, a puncture 4 is present. This is followed by an intermediate section 5 which, for example, has a key surface on its outside. In the free end 3 of the connecting piece 1 facing away from the end of the intermediate portion 5 is used with a cylindrical projection 6 of the second connecting piece 7. This connection piece 7 has a rotationally symmetrical outer shape which defines an axis 8. This axis 8 is offset from the corresponding axis 9 of the connecting piece 1. Both axes 8, 9 are parallel to each other. In the approach 6, an obliquely extending opening 10 is present, so that the water from the connection piece 1 through the neck 6 can get into the connecting piece 7. The connecting piece 7 is intended for insertion into a receptacle of the sanitary fitting. It contains a circumferential groove 11 on its outside, which is intended to receive a seal. Between the groove 11 and the projection 6, the outer surface of the connecting piece 7 is approximately conical. This area is intended to cause an axial fixation of the connection piece 7 in the receptacle of the sanitary fitting.
The approach 6 of the connecting piece 7 is axially fixed in the passage of the connecting piece 1 by a snap ring 12. As a result, the connection piece 7 can be rotated about the axis of the passage through the connecting piece 1. This axis corresponds to the axis 9.
In the intermediate portion 5, a conical surface 13 is formed, which adjoins a constriction 14 of the inner opening of the connecting piece 1. Downstream of the conical surface 13, the passage through the intermediate portion 5 is cylindrical. In this passage, a valve element 15 is used, which is approximately spherical except for its central passage 16. On the side facing away from the conical surface 13, an annular sleeve 17 is inserted in the passage through the connecting piece 1, which forms a contact surface for the valve element 15. Laterally, a recess 18 is introduced into the valve element 15, in which an adjusting element 19 engages. The adjusting element 19 is arranged in a lateral bore in the connection piece 1 and fixed there by a flange 20. It is sealed by a seal 21. From the outside, it can be twisted using a tool. During a rotation, the valve element 15 is rotated about an axis extending transversely to the longitudinal axis 9, so that after a rotation through 90 °, the opening 16 shown in section runs perpendicular to the paper plane. This closes the passage for the water.
Between the annular sleeve 17 and the front end of the neck 6, a seal 22 is also used.
In this embodiment, therefore, a barrier in the form of a shut-off device with a valve element 15 in which the water pipe associated connection piece 1 is arranged. Twistable about the axis 9 of this connection piece is the sanitary fitting associated connection piece. 7
While in the embodiment of FIG. 1 of the sanitary fitting associated connection piece 7 remains rotatable in the final state, Fig. 2 shows a slightly modified embodiment, in which after alignment, the orientation once set can be set. For this purpose, a grub screw 25, which is screwed through the wall of the intermediate portion 5 and engages with its tip in the outside of the neck 6.
Fig. 3 shows a modified embodiment. While in the embodiments of FIGS. 1 and 2 of the plumbing associated with the connecting piece 7 engages with a simple approach 6 in the other connection piece, here the structure is slightly different. In the end of the connecting piece 1, an adapter 26 is pressed, which contains a union nut 27. The union nut is screwed onto an external thread 28 of the corresponding projection 6 of the connecting piece 7. If the union nut 27 is not yet screwed tight, the connection piece 7 can be rotated. Once he has reached the correct position, this position can be locked by tightening the nut 27. For sealing a flat gasket between the end face of the projection 6 and the end face of the adapter 26 is provided.
The now following Fig. 4 shows the use of a connection device according to the invention with a sanitary fitting. This is the embodiment of FIG. 3. 4 shows how the connection piece 7 is inserted into a receptacle 29 of the sanitary fitting 30. The sanitary fitting 30 includes a lateral threaded bore 31, which is arranged axially on the conical outer side of the connecting piece 7. By screwing a screw which acts on the outside of the connecting piece 7, the valve 30 is fixed to the connecting piece 7 in this way.
In the interior of the connecting piece, a silencer 32 is arranged.
The rosette 33 or in other words a cover has at the bottom, right in Fig. 4, an opening 34 through which the access to the adjusting element 19 is possible. Here you can set the barrier if necessary.
Also for the axial fixing by means of a screw engaging in the threaded hole 31, the cover 33 includes an opening 35th
In the previously discussed embodiments of FIGS. 1 to 4, a rotation takes place about the axis 9 of the connecting nipple 1 assigned to the water line.
5 shows a fourth embodiment, in which the barrier is arranged by means of the valve element 15 in an elongated projection 36 of the sanitary fitting associated connecting piece 7. In the free end of this approach 36, the adapter 26 is pressed, similar to the embodiment of FIG. 4th By loosening the nut 27, it is possible to perform a rotation about the axis 8 of the connecting piece 7.
The once performed angular orientation of the one connecting piece with respect to the other can be secured, for example, by the union nut 27 in the embodiment of FIGS. 3, 4 and 5. In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2 is effected by the grub screw 25 which engages with its tip in the outer side of the projection 6 through the intermediate portion 5, the locking.
The type of connection of the connection device with the water pipe of the house installation on the one hand and the sanitary fitting on the other hand is intended only as an example in the illustrated and described embodiment. All other types of connection are also conceivable. For example, the connecting piece to the sanitary fitting could also be designed as a receptacle, which is pushed onto a corresponding opening of the sanitary fitting outside. Also bayonet connections or screw connections are possible.
