FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present invention relates to a device for trimming hair and hair, in particular a device for trimming hair and hair which is adapted to vary the length of the cut of hair and hair in a variable manner. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] Electric hair and fur trimmers are well known and include trimmers, clippers and shavers that are powered by batteries or powered by electricity supplied by the power grid. Such devices are generally used to trim body hair, in particular hair and facial hair, to enable an individual to have a well-groomed appearance.
[003] In general, conventional devices for cutting hair and hair comprise a main body that forms an elongated housing, which has a front or cutting end and an opposite end constituting a cable. A cutting set is arranged at the front end. The cutting set in general comprises a stationary cutting blade, sometimes also called "bulkhead", and a mobile cutting blade, sometimes also called "cutter". The movable cutting blade is movably mounted on the top surface of the stationary cutting blade and is resiliently forced against said top surface of the stationary cutting blade. The cutting set itself is, in general, fixed in a single position in relation to the housing of the device for trimming hair and hair, so that the orientation of the cutting set is determined by a user who guides the housing of the device for trimming hair and hair. Generally, the tips of these cutting edges protrude from the front side of the hair trimmer housing and hair, so that the tips of the cutting edges are always visible to the user. With this, the user can easily see where exactly the hairs are cut, which is especially advantageous when the hair trimmer is used to form and create precise hair / hair contours.
[004] As there is a great demand for devices for trimming hair and for hair that offer the possibility of being used for different lengths of cut, many devices for trimming hair and for the known ones use different combs of different sizes. These attachable combs are, in general, mounted on the cutting set at the front end of the device housing to trim hair and hair to position the cutting set in relation to the skin. In other words, such an attachable comb is used as a guide that moves over the skin and guides the hair and hair in the direction of the cutting set. Typically, these combs are mounted on the cutting set and separate the cutting blades from the skin surface from where the hair extends. However, the need to change the comb for another whenever the length of the haircut / hair must be changed can be impractical for the user, since this is not only a time-consuming process, but also requires the user to keep a stock of several combs of different sizes.
[005] Thus, many devices for trimming hair and prior art hair use a single comb that can be adjusted in different positions in relation to the housing of the hair and hair trimmer. The user can then adjust the comb in different positions to obtain different lengths of haircut / hair. These movable combs can, for example, be adjusted between 3 mm, 5 mm, 7 mm, 9 mm and 11 mm lengths of hair / hair. Obviously, other ranges and adjustment steps are also possible. These systems, however, have the disadvantage of allowing only hair / hair lengths of 3 mm or more, since such lengths are, in general, the shortest that can be reached with the comb in its shortest position. Of course, the user will also be able to use the device to trim hair and hair without an attachable comb, which, in general, leads to a hair / hair cut length of 0.3 mm. However, haircut / hair lengths within these boundary ranges, for example, between 0.3 mm and 3 mm, cannot be obtained with such systems.
[006] Other devices for trimming hair and hair of the prior art are known that allow an adjustment for shorter hair / hair cut length ranges, that is, between 0.3 mm and 3 mm. These systems generally allow an adjustment of the position of the mobile cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade to increase or decrease the distance between the tips of the cutting blades. The mobile cutting blade can, in this case, be arranged in different positions along an axis that is perpendicular to the axis along which the mobile cutting blade performs a reciprocal movement in relation to the stationary cutting blade during use. This type of hair / hair length adjustment is also referred to as a “point-to-point adjustment”, the distance between the cutting tooth tips of the mobile cutting blade and the cutting tooth tips of the stationary cutting blade. it is referred to as the “distance between points”.
[007] WO 2013/080114 A1 discloses a device for trimming hair and hair to which an attachable comb can be attached. This device for trimming hair and hair allows you to adjust the length of the cut of hair / hair both by adjusting the position of the attachable comb in relation to the housing of the hair trimmer and by hair, as well as by adjusting the distance between ends. However, the distance between ends can be adjusted only if the attachment comb is removed from the hair and hair trimmer. If the attachable comb is attached to the device for trimming hair and hair, the movable cutting blade will be automatically pushed to its most forward position by means of a locking element. If the attachable comb is attached to the device for trimming hair and hair, the adjustment between ends is considered disengaged. As a consequence, this means that for longer haircuts / hair lengths the user can attach the attachable comb and then adjust the position of the attachable comb in relation to the hair trimmer housing and hair according to the variety of cut lengths of hair / possible hair. If, on the other hand, the user needs a shorter haircut / hair length, for example, in the range of 0.3 mm to 3 mm, the user will need to disconnect the attachable comb in order to adjust the distance between ends. This may seem impractical to some users.
[008] The document WO 2013/080114 A1 discloses another modality in which the adjustment of the distance between tips can be done simultaneously with an adjustment of the position of the attachable comb. However, in this case, the two types of adjustment are linked together, so that increasing the distance of the comb that can be attached to the hair trimmer and hair at the same time also increases the distance between ends, even if this is not necessarily desirable.
[009] Thus, there is still room for improvement. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0010] It is an objective of the present invention to provide a device for trimming hair and hair that solves the problems mentioned above. It is a specific object of the invention to provide a device for trimming hair and hair that allows a variable adjustment of the length of hair / hair cutting by means of both an adjustment of an attachable comb and also an adjustment of the distance between ends. In this case, it would be particularly beneficial if the distance between tips could be adjusted even with the attachable comb connected to the hair and hair trimmer, and an adjustment of the distance between tips would not lead to a simultaneous adjustment of the attachable comb.
[0011] This problem is solved by a device for trimming hair and hair that comprises:
[0012] - an accommodation;
[0013] - a cutting set comprising a stationary cutting blade and a movable cutting blade;
[0014] - a drive arrangement for driving the mobile cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade in an oscillatory movement along a first axis;
[0015] - a comb support element for removably securing a comb attachable to a plurality of comb teeth;
[0016] - an adjustment unit to adjust the position of the attachment comb in relation to the cutting set when the attachment comb is attached to the comb support element, the adjustment unit being configured to increase a distance between the attachment comb and the cutting assembly during an extension movement of the adjustment unit, and decreasing the distance between the attachable comb and the cutting assembly during a retraction movement of the adjustment unit; and
[0017] - an end blocking element that is configured to prevent movement of the attachable comb towards the cutting set during the retraction movement when a minimum distance between the attachable comb and the cutting set is reached, with the end locking element is additionally configured to cause coupling of the adjustment unit with one of the stationary cutting blade and movable cutting blade if the retraction movement of the adjustment unit continues after contact of the attachable comb with the attachment element end locking, and said coupling enables an adjustment of the position of the movable cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade along a second axis transverse to the first axis by means of the adjustment unit.
[0018] In accordance with the present invention, the end locking element is configured to prevent movement of the attachable comb towards the cutting set during the retraction movement upon contact with the comb support element, and the end locking element is additionally configured to cause the adjustment unit to be coupled to one of the stationary cutting blade and the movable cutting blade if the retraction movement of the adjustment unit continues after contact of the end locking element with the comb support element.
[0019] The device for trimming hair and hair shown allows an adjustment of the length of hair cut / hair by varying the distance between ends (for hair cut lengths / shorter hair) or by varying the position of the attachable comb in relation to the accommodation (for longer haircuts / hair lengths). Both the distance between tips and the position of the attachable comb can be adjusted by one and the same adjustment unit. This adjustment unit can be operated mechanically or electrically by means of a motor.
[0020] In contrast to the hair and hair trimmer disclosed in WO 2013/080114 A1 it is even possible to adjust the distance between ends when the attachable comb is attached to the hair and hair trimmer housing. This significantly increases the user's ease of use, as the user does not need to disconnect the attachable comb even if he wants a variation within a shorter haircut / hair length. The hair and fur trimmer shown therein uses a mechanical end locking element which is preferably arranged within the housing. This end locking element disengages the adjustment of the attachable comb when a minimum distance is reached between the attachable comb and the cutting set and, at the same time, engages the adjustment of the movable cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade (adjustment between ends).
[0021] The user can vary the adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair as follows: For longer adjustments of the length of cut of hair / hair (for example, in the range of 3 mm to 12 mm or more) the distance of the attachable comb in relation to the cutting set can be increased by means of an extension movement of the adjustment unit. Moving the adjustment unit in the opposite direction in a retracting motion allows you to decrease the distance between the attachable comb and the cutting set, that is, to decrease the adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair in the range mentioned above until the attachable comb reaches the minimum distance to the cutting set and contacting the end locking element. The end locking element then prevents further movement of the attachment comb towards the cutting set. If the retraction movement of the adjustment unit continues after that point, the adjustment of the attachable comb will be uncoupled and the adjustment unit will be coupled to the stationary cutting blade or the movable cutting blade so that the continuation of the retraction movement of the unit then cause a decrease in the distance between tips. The length of the haircut can therefore be adjusted to even the shortest lengths (eg 0.3 mm to 3 mm) until a minimum distance between ends is reached.
[0022] Increasing the adjustment of the cut length of hair / hair again can have the opposite effect. The user only needs to carry out the extension movement of the adjustment unit. This causes the distance between tips to increase until a maximum distance between tips is reached. At this point, the adjustment unit disengages the adjustment between ends and engages the adjustment of the attachable comb, so that the attachable comb is moved in the opposite direction to the cutting set.
[0023] It should be noted that the adjustment of the distance between tips is made by moving the mobile cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade. This does not imply that the movable cutting blade necessarily has to be moved along the second axis. Within the scope of the present invention, it is also possible to move the stationary cutting blade along the second axis, as this will also cause a relative movement of the mobile cutting blade in relation to the stationary cutting blade. The end locking element can therefore cause a coupling of the adjustment unit to the stationary cutting blade or a coupling of the adjustment unit to the movable cutting blade if the retraction movement of the adjustment unit continues after contact of the comb. Attachable with the end locking element.
[0024] It should also be noted that the second axis is preferably perpendicular to the first axis.
[0025] The device for trimming hair and hair can be used with and without attachable comb. According to one embodiment, the device for trimming hair and hair comprises the attachable comb attached to the comb support element. The comb support element is a fixing element that allows a removable comb attachment that can be attached to the hair and hair trimmer housing. The comb support element is preferably arranged within the housing and configured to move internally upward within the housing during the extension movement, and to move internally downward within the housing during the retraction movement.
[0026] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the adjustment unit comprises an electric drive. The length of the haircut can therefore be adjusted in a very practical way. The user does not need to manually apply a force to adjust the position of the attachable comb and / or the distance between tips.
[0027] The hair and hair trimming device shown may comprise a user interface for controlling the drive arrangement and the adjustment unit. This user interface may comprise one or more buttons, for example, a first button to start and stop the extension movement of the adjustment unit, a second button to start and stop the retraction movement of the adjustment unit and a third button to operate the drive arrangement, that is, to switch the device for trimming hair and hair on and off. Instead of manual buttons, the user interface can also comprise a touchscreen. Yet another possibility is a rotating disc or a sliding adjustment element.
[0028] According to one modality, the electric drive comprises an electric spindle drive. Such an electric spindle drive enables relatively high power transmission. In addition, electric spindle drives are cost-effective in terms of production and can be installed inside the device housing to trim hair and hair in order to save space compared to other configurations.
[0029] According to another modality, the electric spindle drive comprises a spindle and a spindle nut that is connected to the comb support element. Rotating the spindle causes the spindle nut to move up or down on the spindle (depending on the direction of movement of the spindle). During the extension movement, the spindle nut moves in an upward direction over the spindle. During the retraction movement, the spindle nut moves in an opposite direction downwards.
[0030] The end locking element is configured to prevent movement of the attachable comb towards the cutting set during the retraction movement through contact with the spindle nut and / or the comb support element. Contact of the spindle nut and / or the comb support element with the end locking element prevents further adjustment of the position of the attachable comb. If it is turned further, the spindle will move in relation to the spindle nut. As further downward movement of the spindle nut is prevented by the end locking element, the spindle will then automatically move upwards. The position of the attachable comb remains constant. This upward movement of the spindle can cause the electric spindle drive to be coupled with the stationary cutting blade or the movable cutting blade, so that a continuous retraction movement then causes a change in the position of the stationary cutting blade in relation to to the movable cutting blade along the second axis. This way, you have an easy way to disengage the adjustment from the attachable comb and to engage the adjustment between ends.
[0031] The attachable comb preferably comprises at least one cantilever that can be inserted into the housing to fix the attachable comb to the comb support element. The connection between the comb support element and the at least one cantilever is preferably removable by hand.
[0032] According to a preferred embodiment, the cutting set is disposed on a first side of the spindle, and the end locking element is disposed on a second side of the spindle, opposite the first side. The device for trimming hair and hair may additionally comprise a first and a second wedge-shaped element to establish the coupling of the adjustment unit with one of the stationary cutting blade and the movable cutting blade, the first shaped element being wedge is arranged on the stationary cutting blade or on the mobile cutting blade, and the second wedge-shaped element is connected to the spindle.
[0033] The longitudinal axis of the spindle is preferably arranged perpendicularly to the mobile cutting blade and the stationary cutting blade. In other words, the longitudinal axis of the spindle is preferably arranged perpendicular to the first and second axes. An upward movement of the spindle in relation to the end locking element, as described above, can therefore cause contact between the two wedge-shaped elements, with the second wedge-shaped element sliding along the first element wedge-shaped by an inclined plane. This causes the stationary cutting blade to move relative to the movable cutting blade along the second axis.
[0034] According to another modality, the second wedge-shaped element is connected to the spindle by means of a mechanical transmission element that ensures a constant distance between the second wedge-shaped element and the spindle during the extension movements and retraction of the adjustment unit. The mechanical transmission element is preferably coupled to the spindle by means of a coupler that allows the spindle to rotate in relation to the mechanical transmission element. This means that a rotating movement of the spindle will not cause the second wedge-shaped element to rotate. This ensures that the second wedge-shaped element will not rotate in relation to the first wedge-shaped element, but will only be able to move up or down in relation to it. It should be noted that the second wedge-shaped element moves only upwards or downwards as long as the spindle nut is in contact with the end locking element, that is, during a fit between points, but not during a adjustment of the position of the attachable comb.
[0035] According to another embodiment, the device for trimming hair and hair may additionally comprise a spring element which is disposed between the first wedge-shaped element and a member which is fixedly connected to the mechanical transmission element. This spring element forces the first wedge-shaped element against the second wedge-shaped element during an inter-tip adjustment. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0042] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a device for trimming hair and hair according to the present invention. The device for trimming hair and hair is, in its entirety, represented in this document with the reference number 10.
[0043] The hair and hair trimmer 10 comprises an attachable comb 12 that can be removably attached to the housing 14 of the hair and hair trimmer 10. Figure 2 shows the hair and hair trimmer 10 without the comb Attachable 12.
[0044] The housing 14 connects all parts of the device for trimming hair and hair 10 and also serves as a skeleton for a cutting set 16 (see Figure 2). The housing 14 has an elongated body comprising a handle 18 at its rear end 20. The cutting assembly 16 is fixedly or removably connected to the opposite front end 22 of the housing 14. The outer surface of the elongated housing 14 can be slightly tapered outwardly following from the rear end 20 to the front end 22, and can be slightly angled in shape to provide a more ergonomic grip position and to improve the aesthetic appearance of the hair and hair trimmer 10. It should also be noted that other housing arrangements and designs are contemplated without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0045] The hair and hair trimmer 10 additionally comprises a user interface 24 for controlling the operation of the hair and hair trimmer 10. The user interface 24 comprises a first button 26 for increasing the cutting length adjustment of hair / hair and a second button 28 to decrease the adjustment of the hair / hair cut length. The user interface 24 additionally comprises a display 30 which shows the user the selected adjustment of the length of the haircut / hair. The user interface 24 may additionally comprise a button for turning the hair and hair trimmer on and off 10. Alternatively, the user interface 24 may comprise a touch screen that provides the aforementioned functions of the buttons 26, 28, the button on / off and display 30.
[0046] The cutting set 16 includes a stationary cutting blade 32 and a movable cutting blade 34 (see Figure 2). The movable cutting blade 34 is movably mounted on an upper surface of the stationary cutting blade 32, said upper surface facing substantially towards the inner side of the housing 14. The stationary cutting blade 32 and the cutting blade movable cutting 34 each comprise a matrix of cutting teeth 36, 38. These cutting teeth 36, 38 are preferably arranged substantially parallel to each other. During the operation of the hair and hair trimmer 10, the hair / hair cutting occurs due to the interaction of the stationary cutting blade 32 with the mobile cutting blade 34. The mobile cutting blade 34 performs an oscillatory reciprocating movement to the along a first axis 40 with respect to the stationary cutting blade 32. This oscillatory movement is generated by a drive arrangement 42, schematically shown in Figures 4 and 5.
[0047] The drive arrangement 42 comprises a motor 44 that is driven by electricity supplied by the mains or powered by battery. Motor 44 drives an eccentric element 46 in a rotating mode. This eccentric element 46 is coupled to a so-called “drive bridge” 48 that is attached to the movable cutting blade 34. The drive bridge 48 is used as a coupling element that couples the motor 44 to the movable cutting blade 34 for convert the rotary movement of the motor into a reciprocal translational oscillatory movement of the movable cutting blade 34 along the first axis 40.
[0048] The stationary cutting blade 32 is generally designed to be thicker than the mobile cutting blade 34. Said stationary cutting blade 32 is also called "bulkhead". Its front edge can be projected as a continuous sharp edge or, similar to the mobile cutting blade 34, as a toothed edge with a matrix of cutting teeth 36. The mobile cutting blade 34 is also called "cutter".
[0049] In order to receive a good cutting performance, the mobile cutting blade 34 is actively pressed on the upper surface of the stationary cutting blade 32 to receive a so-called "tooth pressure". A spring (not shown) is, in general, used to provide said tooth pressure resiliently by forcing the movable cutting blade 34 against the upper surface of the stationary cutting blade 32.
[0050] Attachable comb 12 is removably attached to housing 14. The hair and hair trimmer 10 comprises a comb support element 45 to which attachable comb 12 can be attached, for example, by a clip (see Figure 3). In the illustrated example, the attachable comb 12 is fixed to the housing 14 by means of two cantilevers 50 that can be inserted into the housing 14 and engage the comb support element 45 (see Figure 3). Other possibilities for fixing the comb that can be attached to the housing 14 can also be contemplated without departing from the scope of the present invention.
[0051] Attachable comb 12 comprises a plurality of comb teeth 52 which are adapted to at least partially encircle and / or cover the cutting set 16. The comb teeth 52 serve as spacers between the cutting set 16 and the skin of user. The attachable comb 12 can then be used as a guide that moves over the user's skin and guides the hair / hair towards the cutting set 16. In the illustrated example, the attachable comb 12 comprises two types of comb teeth 52. A first type of comb teeth 52 'covers a front side of the housing 14 and the ends of the cutting teeth 36, 38. A second type of comb teeth 52' 'covers the front end 22 of the housing. In the illustrated example, the attachable comb 12 further comprises an open space or recess 54 between the two types of comb teeth 52 ', 52' '. The comb teeth 52 ', 52' 'are therefore not directly connected to each other. The indentation 54 occurs in a position on the front end 22 of the hair trimmer and the hair 10 below the cutting set 16. This indentation 54 improves the cutting performance and prevents an obstruction effect, that is, reduces the risk of hair / hairs get caught between the attachable comb 12 and the housing 14. However, it should be noted that the recess 54 is not necessarily indispensable according to the present invention. Other types of attachable combs 12 can also be used, for example, attachable combs with 52 'front comb teeth only.
[0052] The device for trimming hair and hair 10 shown allows a variation of the adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair or by means of an adjustment of the position of the attachable comb 12 in relation to the housing 14 or by means of an adjustment of the blade cutting edge 34 in relation to the stationary cutting blade 32. The aforementioned adjustment is also represented as “adjustment between ends”, since the adjustment of the length of the hair / hair cut is done by adjusting the distance between the ends of the hairs. cutting teeth 36 of the stationary cutting blade 32 and the tips of the cutting teeth 38 of the mobile cutting blade 34. This distance is referred to as the "distance between tips". The movable cutting blade 34 is therefore adjusted along a second axis 56 (see Figures 5c and 5d) in relation to the stationary cutting blade 32. The second axis 56 is arranged transversely to the first axis 40, preferably perpendicular to the first axis 40.
[0053] An adjustment of the mobile cutting blade 34 with respect to the stationary cutting blade 32 can be done by moving the mobile cutting blade 34 along the second axis 56 or by moving the stationary cutting blade 32 along the second axis 56, as will be made clear in the following explanation.
[0054] An adjustment of the position of the attachable comb 12 is used for longer adjustments of the length of the cut of hair / hair, for example, in a range of 3 mm to 12 mm, or even greater. Adjusting the distance between ends is used for shorter adjustments to the length of the haircut / hair, for example, in the range of 0.3 mm to 3 mm. Both ways of adjusting the length of the haircut / hair are made by one and the same adjustment unit 58, which will be explained in the following text with reference to Figures 3, 4 and 5.
[0055] The adjustment unit 58 according to the modality shown comprises an electric drive 60 (see Figure 3) to adjust the position of the attachable comb 12 and also to adjust the distance between tips. This electric drive 60 comprises an electric spindle drive which includes a spindle 62 and a spindle nut 64. Electric drive 60 additionally comprises an electric motor 66 which is powered by electricity supplied from the mains or driven by battery. Electric motor 66 drives spindle 62 in a rotating manner. The electric motor can be connected directly to spindle 62 or, as shown in Figure 3, by means of one or more pinions 68.
[0056] A rotation of the spindle 62 causes the spindle nut 64 to move up or down on the spindle (depending on the direction of rotation). The spindle nut 64 is removably connected to the two cantilevers 50 of the attachable comb 12 by means of the comb support element 45 (see Figure 3). A rotation of the spindle 62 then forces the comb support element 45 and the attachable comb 12 (if attached to the housing 14) to move upwards, that is, in the direction opposite to the front end 22 of the housing 14, to increase adjusting the length of the cut of hair / hair, or downward, that is, towards the front end 22 of the housing 14, to decrease the adjustment of the length of cut of hair / hair.
[0057] The direction of rotation of the spindle 62 can be controlled using the buttons 26, 28 above. These buttons 26, 28 are preferably connected to the electric motor 66 via a control / microprocessor unit (not shown) that is configured to receive the signals from the button 26, 28 and to control the operation of the electric motor 66 properly. The control / microprocessor unit is preferably also connected to the display 30. A user can thus easily adapt the adjustment of the length of the hair / hair cut using the attachable comb 12, the user only having to press the first button 26 to increase the adjustment of the length of hair / fur or the second button 28 to decrease the adjustment of the length of hair / fur.
[0058] Figures 4a and 4b show schematically the extension movement of the adjustment unit 58 to increase the adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair with the use of the attachable comb 12. The spindle nut 64 thus moves in an upward direction indicated by the arrows 70. It should be noted that the length of the haircut / hair in this example has only increased by adjusting the position of the attachable comb, while the distance between ends remains constant.
[0059] Figures 5a to 5d schematically illustrate the retraction movement of the adjustment unit 58 which is used to decrease the adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair. An operation of the second button 28 causes the spindle nut 64 to move downwards on spindle 62, as indicated by the arrow 72. Due to the connection of spindle nut 64 to the attachable comb 12 via the comb support element 45 , the attachable comb 12 is therefore also moved downwards, that is, closer to the cutting set 16 (see Figures 5a and 5b). During the first part of this retraction movement shown in Figures 5a and 5b, the distance between tips remains constant. However, it changes as soon as the comb support element 45 reaches its lowest position and comes into contact with an end locking element 74. The end locking element 74 is arranged inside the housing 14 and prevents movement towards additional bottom of the comb support element 45 and the spindle nut 64. In this way, the end locking element 74 also prevents further downward movement of the attachable comb 12 even if the spindle 62 is further rotated in the retracted direction. The end locking element 74 performs a disengagement from the position of the attachable comb 12 and, at the same time, causes a coupling of the adjustment unit 58 to the cutting set 16.
[0060] Figures 5c and 5d schematically illustrate the situation in case the retraction movement continues after the spindle nut 64 contacts the end locking element 74. An additional retraction movement then leads to an adjustment the distance between ends and, thus, to an additional decrease in the length of the cut of hair / hair. The adjustment of the distance between tips is achieved by means of two wedge-shaped elements 76, 78. The first wedge-shaped element is connected to the movable cutting blade 34. The second wedge-shaped element 78 is connected to the spindle 62 by means of a mechanical transmission element 80. Said mechanical transmission element 80 ensures a constant distance between the second wedge-shaped element 78 and the spindle 62 during the movement of the spindle 62. The mechanical transmission element 80 is coupled to the spindle 62 by means of a coupler (not shown) that allows the spindle 62 to rotate in relation to the mechanical transmission element 80, so that the mechanical transmission element 80 only moves up or down, but does not rotate when the spindle 62 rotates about its longitudinal axis 82. The mechanical transmission element 80 is connected to the first wedge-shaped element 76 by means of a spring element 84. This spring element 84 is thus compressed m that the two wedge-shaped elements 76, 78 come into contact with each other. As shown in Figures 5c and 5d, the additional retraction movement of the adjustment unit 58 causes the spindle 62 to move relative to the end locking element 74 in an upward direction as soon as the spindle nut 64 comes into contact with the element end stop 74. Spindle 62 then moves upwards along with the second wedge-shaped element 78. This leads to a contact of the inclined surfaces of both wedge-shaped elements 76, 78. During movement further upward spindle 62 the second wedge-shaped element 78 pushes the first wedge-shaped element 76 to the right along the second axis 56 and thus decreases the distance between ends.
[0061] The adjustment of the length of the cut of hair / hair can, therefore, be adjusted continuously or in stages in a range of 0.3 mm to 12 mm, or more. The user does not even recognize whether the variation in the length of the cut of hair / hair is done by adjusting between ends or by adjusting the position of the attachable comb 12.
[0062] It should be noted that the first wedge-shaped element 76 can alternatively be connected to the stationary cutting blade 32. For this purpose, it is only necessary to turn the two wedge-shaped elements 76, 78 so that the inclined surfaces are facing in the opposite direction to that shown in the situation of Figures 4 and 5. This would also cause a relative movement of the mobile cutting blade 34 in relation to the stationary cutting blade 32. It should also be noted that the longitudinal axis 82 of the spindle 62 is disposed transversely to the first axis 40 and the second axis 56. It is particularly preferred that the longitudinal axis 82 of the spindle 62 is arranged perpendicularly to the first axis 40 and the second axis 56. This ensures a good power transmission.
[0063] Although the invention has been illustrated and described in detail in the drawings and in the aforementioned description, such illustration and description should be considered illustrative or exemplary and not restrictive; the invention is not limited to the disclosed modalities. Other variations to the disclosed modalities can be understood and carried out by those skilled in the art in the practice of the claimed invention, from a study of the drawings, the disclosure and the attached claims.
[0064] In the claims, the expression "that comprises" does not exclude other elements or other stages, and the indefinite article "one" or "one" does not exclude a plurality. A single element or another unit can perform the functions of several items mentioned in the claims. The mere fact that certain measures are mentioned in mutually different dependent claims does not indicate that a combination of these measures cannot be used to advantage.
[0065] No sign of reference in the claims should be interpreted as limiting the scope of the invention.
