[001] The present invention claims priority from Application Serial No. 13/973,312, which was filed August 22, 2013, which claims priority in accordance with 35 USC 119(e) of Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 61/ 717,715, which was filed on October 24, 2012, the description of which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. FUNDAMENTALS OF THE INVENTION Field of Technique
[002] This description refers to various types of resealable childproof packaging or bags. Description of the State of the Art
[003] The state of the art includes various child-proof packaging. Typically, these packages are designed to hold medicinal capsules, detergent capsules, or similar items that may be attractive, but dangerous, to a child. The prior art has many examples of plastic lids, to be removed from glass or plastic containers, which need to be pressed or pushed in various ways that may not be clear to a child or are beyond the child's strength capabilities. However, such containers are complicated to manufacture and add considerable expense to the consumer product. Additionally, such containers can be heavy and bulky, which adds transportation costs. In addition, this weight and volume increase the recycling burden of these products. OBJECTIVES AND SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[004] Therefore, an objective of the present description is to provide child-proof containers that maintain a high level of child resistance, while achieving weight and cost savings with respect to manufacturing, transportation and recycling.
[005] These and other goals are achieved by a polymeric or plastic container with various zipper configurations, including zipper configurations with a high inward opening force and a low outward opening force. Such configurations include zippers where only three flanges are sealed, so if the child tries to open the bag by pulling on the outside of the bag, he encounters the high opening force of the zipper. To find the low outer opening force, the user needs to grip the unsealed outer flange while trying to open the bag. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[006] Additional aspects and advantages of the description will become clear from the following description and the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view of a zipper attached to the side walls of a plastic bag or container, thereby resulting in the first embodiment of the present description. Figures 2 to 4 are cross-sectional views of variations of the embodiment of Figure 1. Figure 5 illustrates a first configuration of sealing jaws in the first aspect of the present description. Figure 6 illustrates a second configuration of the sealing jaws in the first aspect of the present description. Figures 7 and 8 illustrate the open and closed configuration of the second aspect of the present description. Figure 9 illustrates a cross-sectional view of a third aspect of the present description. Figures 10, 11, 12 and 13 illustrate the opening sequence for a third aspect of the present description. Figures 14, 15, 16 and 17 illustrate various manufacturing methods for a variation of the third aspect of the present description. Figures 18 and 19 illustrate a further variation of the third aspect of the present description. Figures 20A to 20D illustrate the fourth aspect of the present description. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED MODALITIES
[007] According to this description it is seen that Figures 1 to 6 refer to a third aspect of the present description. In Figure 1, zipper 10 includes first and second profiles 12, 14. First profile 12 includes a first outer flange 16 and a first inner flange 18 as well as a female interconnecting member 20 formed from the first and second interconnecting arms. extend upwards 22, 24 ending in respective first and second retaining hooks 26, 28. Likewise, second profile 14 includes second outer flange 32 and second inner flange 34 as well as a male interlocking element 36 formed from a column 38 and an arrowhead element 40. The inner wing 42 of the arrowhead element 40 is larger and more prominent than the outer wing 44 of the arrowhead element 40. This causes the strength of the portion internal or product side or internal opening is greater than the external or consumer side opening force.
[008] The first and second profiles 12, 14 are sealed or otherwise secured to the respective first and second side walls 102, 104 of the bag 100. Naturally, the side walls 102, 104 are joined or integral to form a volume storage 106 inside the bag 100. The first outer flange 16 and the first inner flange 18 are sealed to the first side wall 102 so that the first outer flange 16 is oriented towards the consumer side of the zipper and the first inner flange 18 is oriented towards the product side of the zipper. Likewise, the second inner flange 34 is sealed to the second side wall 104 so that the second outer flange 32 is oriented toward the consumer side of the zipper and the second inner flange 34 is oriented toward the product side of the zipper. . However, the second outer flange 32 is free from sealing to the second side wall 104. In this configuration, if a child has to grip the first and second side walls 102, 104 and attempt to separate them in the conventional manner, the second side wall 104 will transmit the opening forces to the inside of the female and male interlocking elements 20, 36 thereby meeting the high internal opening force and making the zipper 10 very difficult, if not impossible, to open with regular manual forces. However, if one were to grasp the second outer flange 32 and the first sidewall 102 and pull them apart, low outer opening force would be encountered and the zipper would be easily opened.
[009] Figure 2 illustrates a configuration with a shortened first sidewall 102, in which the end of the shortened first sidewall 102 is sealed to the first inner flange 18. Figure 3 illustrates a configuration in which the first outer flange 16 and the second inner flange 32 are sealed to respective first and second side walls 102, 104 and first inner flange 18 and second outer flange 32 are free from connection to side walls 102, 104. Figure 4 illustrates that the tips of the first inner flanges and outer ones 16, 18 are sealed to the first side wall 102 as well as the tip of the second inner flange 34 is sealed to the second side wall 104. The end of the second outer flange 32 is free of connection to the second side wall 104.
[010] Figure 5 illustrates a variation in which the sealing jaws 112, 114 seal the first outer flange 16 to the second side wall 102 and the second inner flange 34 to the second side wall 104, but the first inner flange 18 and the second Outer flange 32 are seal-free. Figure 5 illustrates the seals shown in Figure 3.
[011] Figure 6 adds an additional sealing jaw 116 to seal the first inner flange 18 to the first sidewall 102. Figure 6 illustrates the seals shown in figure 4.
[012] Figures 7 and 8 illustrate a second aspect of the present description. A regular zipper 10 is placed on the bag 100 so that the inner wall and outer wall are inverted (i.e. the male element is enlarged on the upper or consumer side). The zipper 10 needs to have high opening force through the profile design or by sealing so that the cutting effect is achieved. Two flaps 17 are provided below the threading elements to aid in opening the bag from below (ie the inner side). This can be done by folding the film and sealing it or placing the outer flaps on the film. These folds need to be small so that it is necessary to pinch them between two fingers to separate the film, thereby opening the zipper. They probably won't figure out how to use film folds. Even if they do, they may not have the strength to squeeze and separate the folds.
[013] The use of the film as leverage to open the zipper will enable the use of various zipper designs such as two flanges, four flanges, hinged, double zipper, or two back-to-back zippers (which would have the low opening force sides of the zippers face-to-face with the film ply between them).
[014] A third aspect of the description is illustrated in figures 9 to 13. Figure 10 shows the cross section of this third aspect. The first side wall 102 has a first flange 122 and a second side wall 104 has a second flange 124. The first flange 122 is connected to the first side wall 102 and the second flange 124 is connected to the side wall 104. The first and second flanges 122, 124 are connected by a multi-element variable alignment zipper 126. An edge 128 of the second flange 124 can be folded into releaseable engagement or concealment between the first sidewall 102 and the first flange 122. It would not be intuitive for one. the user, particularly a young user, grasps the downward pointing edge 128 of the second flange 124. However, if the consumer does not do so, this setting will go into cut mode when trying to be opened from either side of the consumer of the package or the film or product side (grip and pull). This configuration eliminates the reliance on opening forces and subsequent placement of film pinch areas.
[015] Additional variations of the third aspect of this description are illustrated in Figures 14 to 17. This configuration makes the zipper of the third aspect machine controllable. Virtually any profile setting can be used. It can be used in virtually any form of horizontal infill seal or permeable application. Orientation flanges 302, 304 are added to the respective zipper profiles. The zipper is guided by aligning guides 306, 308 which fit between the guide flanges and their respective zipper flanges. Guides 306, 306 also serve to ensure that each of the pairs of sealing bars 112, 114 and 116, 118 only seal one side wall to the respective profile. The resulting product is shown in Figures 18 and 19.
[016] Several alternative embodiments of the fourth aspect of the description are illustrated in Figures 20A to 20D. This aspect includes bag flaps that are within the dispensing side of the bag or pouch 500. The flaps can be of separate material secured within the bag or integral with the bag material. The end of one tab fits into the fold or attachment point on the other tab. The illustrated aspect may require placement of materials within the dispensing portion of the bag formed by the outer film 502 which is folded to create the first wall 529 and the second wall 531 to create an "s" turn by thereby making content less accessible to children. The flap itself can be created by clamping the materials to form a Dora C with a single flap in the middle of the C-fold. If the flap is bent to the sides of the package, the flap will be firm and hard to get through without a high degree of dexterity . Also, pulling the sides of the package apart to expose the flap will make it difficult to open and simultaneously keep someone's hand inside. As illustrated in Figure 20A, bag 500 is formed of walls 529 and 531 wherein the first flap 509 is secured to the first wall 529 immediately below the first zipper profile 504. Similarly, the second flap 510 is formed with a V shape and is secured to the second wall 531 below the second profile 508 of the zipper 504. The second tab 510 includes a proximal portion 512 that is secured to the second wall 531 and a distal portion 514 that is folded under the first tab 509. In Figure 20B, first tab 509 is formed by folding first wall 529 downwardly. The first zipper profile 506 of the zipper 504 is secured to the first flap 509. The right wall 531 is folded into an S-shape so as to create the proximal portion 512 of the second flap 510 and the distal portion 514 of the second flap 510. The second profile zipper 508 is secured to the proximal portion 512 of the second tab 510. The distal portion 514 is folded under the first tab 509. Figure 10C is similar to Figure 20a except that the first tab 509 is formed as an integral flange with the first profile. of zipper 506 and the second tab 510 is formed on an integral flange with the second zipper profile 508. Figure 20D is similar to Figure 20B except that the zipper is replaced with a peelable seal 540, shown in a separate configuration .
[017] This results in a package that can be self-closing despite not being locked. Creating a specific path to follow to get to the package provides advantages over the prior art. Taken from the sandwich bag, the flap can be created in various configurations.
[018] In all these aspects of the description, it is envisaged that the zipper can be installed in a machine or cross direction during fabrication.
[019] Therefore, the above various objectives and advantages are achieved very effectively. Although preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth and described in detail in context, it is to be understood that this invention is not limited in any way and its scope is to be determined by the appended claims.
