Universal device for actively cooling or heating and distributing food from aerosol cans
BE2016 / 0159
The present invention relates to an apparatus for cooling or heating and distributing foodstuffs from different types of aerosol cans. In particular, it concerns a universal container in which different types of aerosol cans with food are clamped downwards with the nozzle and wherein the aerosol cans are kept actively cooled during the distribution of the product. Different types of aerosols mean, on the one hand, those with different volumes and, on the other hand, those with different nozzles and operating parts.
However, there is an important problem with food safety when using aerosol foodstuffs at warm temperatures. Various foodstuffs are stored in aerosols in a liquid state and are distributed with the aid of a gas in a solid state (aerosols), such as a foam. This is the case, for example, with dairy products, such as whipped cream. Such food aerosol cans are often used at warm temperatures, without the food being permanently cooled. This is the case with fixed or mobile ice cream or wafer stalls, where such aerosol cans are used extensively and the vendors do not have the time to keep them in a refrigerated space, such as a refrigerator. This represents a significant loss of time for a trader. However, too high temperatures increase the risk of food spoilage, which increases the risk of a bacterial infection, such as salmonella for the consumer. In addition, however, some foods should also be able to be heated, such as for some sauces. Here, too, the seller must be able to act quickly, without having to leave his peak to warm up the contents of the container.
Aerosols or aerosols can be distinguished according to the volume of the aerosol or the type of nozzle and the operating part with which a product is distributed. Aerosol volumes can vary between 250 ml to 1000 ml with different neck heights. The nozzles are provided with an operating part, which distributes a food through the nozzle upon pressing. This nozzle has an annular rim that is attached to the valve edge of the aerosol and communicates with the valve. The different types of aerosol can now be distinguished precisely because the nozzle with an operating part is already located within the space of the valve edge. A first type with the operating part within the valve rim is described in, for example, WO9733813. In W02008033005 a tulip-shaped mouthpiece is described, wherein the mouthpiece and the operating part are also within the surface of the valve rim. In another type, the control member extends over the valve edge to the spray can wall, as described, for example, in W02010140881.
BE2016 / 0159
An important problem now poses to be able to use these different types of aerosols in a universal distributor. In the prior art, a number of solutions have already been proposed for placing an aerosol in a container. A first solution is described in FR2932782. According to this patent application, the mouthpiece is located through an opening in the bottom wall of the housing. The product is dispensed by pressing the housing cover against the bottom of the aerosol, whereby the operating part of the nozzle presses against the bottom wall of the housing. Furthermore, the housing is only provided with an insulating jacket, so that no active cooling takes place. Moreover, with this arrangement, the different types of operating parts are not taken into account for the different types of aerosols. This holder is therefore only suitable for a certain type of aerosol can and makes controlled operation more difficult.
Another type of aerosol container is described in DE102013013556, which is provided with a swivel mechanism. This describes an aerosol provided with a cartridge holder on the headpiece and a handle on the nozzle. Furthermore, that holder is provided with a heating or cooling device. The operating part, the hen, is therefore mounted on the mouthpiece. In this case, the position of the aerosol in the container is important during product distribution and the hen is activated directly by the user.
Both solutions are not suitable for distributing different types of aerosols. However, they do not take into account aerosol cans of different volumes and sizes, nor different operating parts for nozzle positioning.
Our invention has the first feature that allows the device with different types of aerosols,
BE2016 / 0159 that are equipped with different operating elements. The positioning of the nozzle of the aerosol can is controlled by means of an adapter so that the operating part is positioned at the correct position in the holder.
A second feature of the invention concerns the use of different volumes of aerosol cans. The aerosol is clamped according to its size by means of a control mechanism via a guide. A height-adjustable plate makes this possible.
A third and final feature of the invention relates to active aerosol cooling. More specifically, the aerosol can be cooled over its entire size by enclosing the aerosol in a closed space. In another possible embodiment, it is also made possible to supply heat around the spray can.
The invention is then explained in detail with the aid of a number of drawings.

Figures 1 and 2 provide an overview of the different types of aerosols with their operating parts. Fig. 1 shows an aerosol (1) with a nozzle (2) with an operating part (3) attached to the valve rim (4). According to this embodiment, the mouthpiece (2) and the operating part (3) are completely within the space of the valve surface. In Figure 2, on the other hand, the actuator (3 ') of the nozzle (2') extends over the valve edge (4 ') to the wall of the aerosol (V).
Fig. 3 shows a holder (5) consisting of a housing with a base (7) that can be placed and fixed on a horizontal surface, such as a table. This base (7) can be attached to the corresponding surface with a fastening mechanism (8). In this embodiment, according to fig. 3, suction cups (8) are provided on the underside of the base (7). The fastening mechanism (8) according to this invention is not limited solely to suction cups, but also other known fasteners, such as bolts, magnets, clamps and the like, may be suitable for attaching the base to a surface. On the base (7) there is a recess (9) or a space on its top for placing a cup or a plate on it. The holder (5) is further provided with a housing, which comprises a back wall (6), a front wall (10), two side walls (11), a roof wall (12) and a bottom wall (13). A door (14) is attached to one of the side walls (11) with a hinge. The door (14) can enclose a spray can when closed, so that the top edge of the door (14) connects to the roof wall (12),
BE2016 / 0159 bottom edge of the door (14) on the bottom wall (13) and the side edge of the door (14) on the side wall (11) of the housing. The holder (5) is provided with an energy source, such as a connection to the mains or a storage capacity such as a battery. The main purpose of this energy source is to start a cooling or heating operation. This is not shown in the figures. In the container (5), further means are provided which allow to realize an active cooling or heating. These means include known technologies such as a heat exchanger, thermoelectric elements, cooled airflow, a resistor, coolants, compression cooling, absorption cooling, ... etc.
When the aerosol (l) is placed in the holder (5), as shown in fig. 4, the wall of the aerosol (l) is in the vicinity of the front wall (10) of the housing of the holder (5) . The active cooling or heating can be achieved by a contact between the wall (10) and the aerosol (l) or by an air flow through openings in the wall (10). When the door (14) is closed, the coolness or heat continues to circulate within the space around the aerosol (l). Preferably, use will be made of thermoelectric elements (peltier). This technique makes it possible to provide a cool zone on one side, while heat build-up occurs on the other side.
A guide (15) extends downward from the roof wall (12) towards the base (7). This guide (15) consists of at least one vertical bar along the front wall (10). According to a possible embodiment as shown in Fig. 3, 2 guides (15) are provided. There is one on this guide (15)
BE2016 / 0159 plate (16) which can be adjusted at a height along the guide bar (15). This plate (16), which is provided with an opening on at least one side to enclose the guide bars (15), can slide freely over the guide bar (15) to the desired height. In a possible preferred form, two openings are provided on both sides of the plate (16) to slide over the two guide bars (15). The purpose of this plate (16) is to clamp the aerosol (1) on its bottom surface, with the nozzle pointing downwards. This is illustrated in Fig. 4, with the door (14) open. The aerosol (1) is clamped with its nozzle (2) downwards in an opening (18) of the bottom wall (13). The bottom surface of the aerosol (l) is pressed against the plate (16) by adjusting the height of the plate (16) along the guide (15). This makes it possible to use aerosols (1,1 ') of different volumes and sizes in the container.
The insert (17) with opening (18), which is mounted on the bottom wall (13), is used with an adapter (19,28) to connect different types of aerosols (1,1 ') with the nozzle (2,2 ') and enclose the operating unit (3,3').
The bottom wall (13) is above the base (7) of the holder (5). The bottom wall (13) is provided with an opening (18) in which an insert (17) is mounted, which is also provided with an opening (18). The space between the bottom wall (13) and the base (7) allows to place a bag, a cup or a plate between them to store the food.
BE2016 / 0159
A spray can (1), as shown in fig. 1 where the actuator (3) is provided within the space of the valve rim (4), is secured with its nozzle (2) and actuator (3) in the opening (18) by by means of an adapter (19), as shown in fig. 4. Such an adapter (19) is shown in more detail in Figures 7 and 8. These figures show an adapter (19) in the opening (18) of the insert (17). The adapter (19) consists of an annular body (20), provided with lips (21) resting on the insert (17). On its inside, the ring (20) is provided with a second ring (22). The inner ring (22) includes two protuberances (23) that form a recess (24). This recess (24) is provided to clamp the aerosol control part (3). The nozzle (2) of the aerosol (1) is passed through the outer ring (20) with the operating part (3) in the recess (24) of the inner ring (22). This keeps the operating part (3) in place. The insert (17) is further provided on its underside with a handle (25) to activate the aerosol operating part (3). This is done by pressing the lever (25), whereby the hinge (27) presses the tip (26) against the operating part (3). When the door (14) is closed around the aerosol (1) when closed, the lever (25) remains free to activate. According to Figures 4 and 8, the lever (25) extends at the bottom of the bottom wall (13) to press against the operating part (3). This also applies to Figures 5 and 6, where another embodiment of an adapter (28) is shown which is suitable for the types of aerosols (1 ') shown in Figure 2. The annular adapter (28) is inserted into the opening (18) of the
BE2016 / 0159 insert (17) installed. The adapter (28) is provided with a number of spacers (30) and a recess (29). The spacers (30) are spaced apart on the annular body (28) and extend vertically in the direction of the nozzle (2 ') of the aerosol (1'). In this embodiment, as shown in Figures 5 and 6, the adapter (28) includes three spacers (30). The purpose of the spacers (30) is to clamp the nozzle (2 ') with the operating part (3') to the desired height, depending on the neck height of the aerosol (1 '). In this way, the actuator (3 ') of the aerosol (1') is positioned in the desired location for operation with the tip (26) of the handle (25). The height of the spacers (30) depends on the neck height of the aerosol (1 '). The operating part (3 ') is positioned in the recess (29) of the adapter (28). By pressing the lever (25), the tip (26) is lifted by the hinge (27), so that it presses against the operating part (3 ') to distribute the product from the aerosol (1').
