List
The invention relates to a frame, such as a swap frame or fixed frame, for displaying an image, such as a photo, painting, or graphic artwork or reproduction.
Typically, the frames consist of a frame that encloses a plane for displaying the image. The frame may comprise a bottom plate for keeping the image to be displayed taut. The frame can also comprise a transparent top plate of glass or plastic to protect the image to be displayed. An interchangeable frame is a frame with a bottom plate and transparent top plate with fastening elements, such as clips, for holding an image to be displayed, whereby the image can be exchanged in a simple manner.
Frames such as interchangeable frames come in many types and styles. A list is often selected for a specific image. A list is therefore often only suitable for use with a limited number of images.
The object of the invention is to provide a frame suitable for use with a very large range of possible photos or other images.
The object of the invention is achieved with a frame, such as a switch frame, with inner edges that at least partially have a surface that is directly reflective to visible light.
Direct reflection in this regard, or specular reflection, that is to say non-diffuse reflection, in which any scattering or absorption of incident light is so small that incident light is reflected for an average observer without noticeable loss of quality. An image in the frame framed by the list will therefore be reflected in a recognizable way.
This ensures that the list visually adapts to the image placed in the list. The frame will therefore adapt to the image to be displayed in terms of color and style. The frame can therefore be combined well with almost any imaginable image. In addition, the reflective inner edges cause a kaleidoscopic effect and a depth effect. The reflective edges enhance the image. The mirroring is dependent on the viewing angle and therefore changes when one walks past the frame, which gives a dynamic image effect.
The frame can for instance consist of a main frame and a strip which is arranged on the inside of the main frame and forms said reflective inner edge of the frame. At least one side of the strip, for example a plastic strip, can be used. reflective material. The strip can be applied such that the reflective material directly forms the outer surface. A front face reflection is then obtained. Indian, the strip is made of a transparent material, such as a transparent plastic, then the strip can be positioned so that the reflective layer borders on the main frame, the transparent material forming the inner edge and the reflective material being visible through the transparent material, preferably without discernible color shift. Such a strip may, for example, consist of a transparent plastic, such as polycarbonate, or glass. The strip can for instance have a thickness of 1 mm or more, for example at a height of 5 mm. Other thicknesses can also be used if desired. The strip can for instance be arranged wholly or partly as an insert and / or the strip can be glued to the main frame.
Her. The reflective layer may, for example, be a metal layer, such as a layer of silver, chrome or aluminum, applied to a strip as described above, or directly onto a fixed inner edge of the frame. The metallic layer may, for example, be applied to a non-metallic substrate such as plastic or wood or other suitable substrate.
For a good reflection of the image to be displayed, the directly reflective inner edges are preferably substantially transverse to the surface enclosed by the frame. The inner edges will also reflect each other. The reflective inner edges preferably connect directly to the space for the image to be displayed.
In a specific embodiment, the angle that the inner edges make with the plane of the image can be adjustable.
The reflective surfaces on the inner edges can have any suitable width, the term width in this context indicating the dimension in the direction transverse to the image to be displayed. In order for the reflective effect to stand out well, the reflective surfaces on the inner edges preferably have a width that is greater than the thickness of the frame edges in front view, thickness indicating the narrowest dimension of the frame edge in a plane parallel to the plane enclosed by the frame.
The reflective inner edges can be straight edges or possibly curved in the longitudinal direction and / or in the transverse direction. Other forms are also possible.
The inner edges are the side walls of the frame facing each other, which immediately define the surface enclosed by the frame. The inner edges preferably have a width of at least 0.5 cm, for example at least 1 cm. For example, if the edges are wide enough, the bottom edge can also be used to place objects on it, which are also mirrored by the frame.
The width of the reflective inner edges is, for example, at least 0.1 times or at least 0.2 times or at least 0.5 times the width of the line of beaches in front view and / or at most 2 times or at most 1.5 times or at most 1.2 times the width of the lij beaches in front view.
The reflective surface of the inner edges preferably has a reflection coefficient R> 0.8, preferably R> 0.9 or R> 0.95.
The frame can, for example, form a rectangular, polygonal, oval or round frame or describe another peripheral shape. The enclosed surface on which the image is shown may, for example, be flat or possibly curved.
The invention will be further elucidated with reference to the exemplary embodiment as shown in the accompanying drawings. Show here:
Figure 1 is a top plan view of an exemplary embodiment of a switch list according to the invention;
Figure 2: the list of figure 1 in cross-section along line A-A;
Figure 3: an alternative embodiment in a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section shown in Figure 2.
Figure 1 shows in top view a switch frame 1 comprising a rectangular frame 2 that encloses a tonal surface 3 where a photo or other image can be displayed. The list comprises inner edges 4 that are perpendicular to the tonal plane 3.
As shown in Figure 2, the frame 2 comprises an outer frame or main frame 5 and a strip 6, which is inserted as an insert in a recess 7 on the inside of the main frame 5. The main frame 5 consists of four sides with an L-shaped cross-section consisting of an outer edge 8 and an inward-facing face edge 9 at the rear of the frame 2. The base edge 9 defines the recess 7. A transparent glass or plastic plate 10 is clamped between the base edges 9 and the strip 6. The strip 6 is provided on the inward-facing side with a directly reflective layer 11, for example a layer of chrome or aluminum. At the rear, the frame comprises a bottom plate 14 on which an image 4 is placed. The strip 6 is clamped between the transparent plate 10 and the image 4, so that the image 4 is reflected in the reflective layers 11. The circumference of the bottom plate 14 falls entirely within the inner circumference of the main frame 5. Immediately below the bottom plate 14 a slot 15 is provided on the inside of the main frame 5 for receiving the usual fastening means, for securing the bottom plate 14. This variant, with a large distance between the transparent plate 10 and the image 4, is particularly suitable for smaller images .
The width B of the reflective surface 11, i.e. the dimension in the direction transverse to the pitch 3, is greater than the thickness D of the edge of the frame 2 in front view, i.e. the narrowest dimension of the frame in the front plane parallel to the tonal plane 3. As a result, the reflective plane dominates the appearance of the frame 1 and a clear kaleidoscopic effect is achieved.
Figure 3 shows in cross-section an embodiment of a frame 21 that is more suitable for larger images, wherein an image 29 is clamped directly behind a transparent cover plate 33. The frame 21 comprises a main frame 22 with inner edges 24 provided with a recess 25 with an inner wall provided with a directly reflective metal layer 26. The inner walls with the reflective layer 26 are substantially transverse to the image 29. The image 29 is reflected in the reflective layers 26. The reflective layer 26 extends around the entire image 29 or at least a part thereof.
The figure 29 rests on a bottom plate 36. Near the underside, the main frame 22 is provided with a slot 35 on the inside for receiving the usual fastening means for fixing the bottom plate 36. Immediately on the figure is the transparent cover plate 33 arranged. The insert 26 clamps the transparent cover plate 33 and the image 29 against the bottom plate 36. In this embodiment too, the width B of the reflective surface 28 is greater than the thickness D of the edge of the frame 21 in front view.
