Liquid fertilizer composition
The present invention belongs to the technical field of plant fertilization and relates to a liquid fertilizer composition for feeding plants, such as indoor or outdoor plants, and garden plants.
Fertilizer compositions, also known as fertilizers, are commonly used in the cultivation of plants to promote their growth by providing nutrients. They allow in particular to feed the plants and to avoid deficiencies, for the good development of the plants. They also help fortify the plants so as to make them more resistant to diseases or external aggressions.
Nutrients provided by fertilizers and necessary for plants are mainly nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K).
In the case of liquid fertilizers, they are diluted in water to be brought by watering at the foot of plants (grown in pots, in vats or in the ground), or foliar spray on the foliage.
The liquid fertilizers which are the subject of the present invention are organic liquid fertilizers or organo-minerals, natural, usable in organic farming in accordance with the European regulation on the organic agriculture (Regulations EC N ° 834/2007 and 889/2008 ).
Most of today's natural organic liquid fertilizer compositions are made from beet vinasse. Beet vinasse is an interesting source of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K). Liquid fertilizers made from beet vinasse are often enriched by complementary sources of potassium and phosphorus brought by other raw materials, in order to reach the optimal quantities for the good development of the plants.
If beet vinasse has a high nutritive potential, it nevertheless has the definite disadvantage of staining surfaces, such as terraces or pavements, close to the pots of the plants on which it is brought. Indeed, the beet vinasse has a very brown color, almost black, that it is not possible to neutralize in a fertilizing composition and that it is difficult to eliminate on a pavement or a terrace.
The object of the present invention is to propose an alternative to the use of beet vinasse in natural liquid fertilizers and thus to propose such a fertilizer composition comprising a source also rich in nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K), which does not have the disadvantage of staining the surfaces close to the plants on which it is brought. For this purpose, the invention relates to a fertilizer composition comprising a vegetable pomace or a vegetal soluble, a complementary source of nitrogen of animal and / or vegetable origin and a complementary source of phosphorus and / or potassium.
In the composition according to the invention, the beet vinasse is replaced by vegetable pomace or a vegetal soluble which also have a high nutritional capacity by providing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Very advantageously, the contribution to one of the major elements (N, P or K) is generally sufficient and can make the use of an additional source optional. Last but not least, vegetal and vegetal soluble do not have the disadvantage of staining the surfaces close to the substrates on which it is poured, as part of a normal use of the liquid fertilizer (according to the instructions for use). recommended).
The vegetable pomace, such as corn pomace or corn liquor, is a concentrated vegetable water quench. This component is known and used in animal feed. Corn pomace is obtained for example from sieved corn, cleaned and crushed, then dipped in hot water. This results in corn steep water which is then concentrated after extraction of the starch. Marks of other plants can be obtained according to similar principles.
Vegetable soluble is a liquid co-product derived from starch plants such as potatoes or peas. It is obtained after separation of the starch, fibers and a part of the proteins. This is for example a juice rich in protein concentrate of potato or pea.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the vegetable pomace is chosen from a marc of maize, cereals, or one of their mixtures.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the complementary source of nitrogen is an animal meal, preferably a fish meal. In such an embodiment, the nitrogen is provided in the form of proteins.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the complementary source of phosphorus is a mineral source (natural phosphate) or of animal origin such as fish bone meal.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the complementary source of potassium is an organic source of potassium sulfate in powder form. Such sources are well known in the state of the art.
The composition is generally free of aqueous solvent or water additional to that contained in vegetable pomace or soluble vegetable. Indeed, it is better to keep the concentration of the material as much as possible and not to dilute it with water. In particular, the composition is rich in sugars or highly nutritious organic matter, it can become unstable and microorganisms can develop, including yeasts. The complementary sources of nitrogen of animal and / or vegetable origin and the complementary sources of phosphorus and potassium are thus generally mixed directly in the vegetable pomace.
Advantageously, the composition according to the invention comprises (in mass): between 70% and 98% of vegetable or vegetable soluble marc, up to 10% of complementary source of nitrogen of animal and / or vegetable origin, up to 12% of additional source of phosphorus.
up to 15% of additional source of potassium, expressed in kg per 100 L by way of example, the composition according to the invention will contain vegetable pomace, in particular a corn pomace, or a soluble vegetable, in particular a soluble potatoes or peas, an animal or vegetable meal supplying nitrogen generally in the form of proteins, possibly phosphorus in the form of a powder and potassium sulphate.
Advantageously, the composition according to the invention comprises between 2 and 4% of nitrogen, between 2 and 4% of phosphoric anhydride and between 4 and 6% of potassium oxide, expressed in Kg per 100 kg of composition.
According to another embodiment, the composition further comprises a complementary source of trace elements, vitamins and / or phytohormones, optionally a preservative, or a mixture thereof.
A seaweed powder is an interesting source of vitamins and phytohormones. The invention also relates to the use of a composition as described above as a plant fertilizer. The invention is in the following illustrated using embodiments of organic liquid fertilizers or organo-natural minerals according to the invention.
Exemption 1: Fertilizer composition made from maize
Table 1: Components
The composition according to Table 1 is prepared in the following manner, for 1000 L:
The solids, such as fishmeal and algae powder, are weighed and then incorporated in a premix tank, in which is added a quantity of maize plant ground to suspend these materials.
The organic potassium sulphate is then incorporated in the homogeneous mixture obtained.
Once the mixture is well homogenized, the assembly is transferred by a pump via a dedicated pipe, to a mixing tank of 2000 liters in which was previously dumped the rest of the amount of maize vegetable pomace from storage tanks.
This gives a tank of 1000 liters of organic liquid fertilizer, ready to be packaged.
If necessary, the mixture is renewed a second time to obtain 2000 L of formulated liquid fertilizer.
The process generally does not involve the addition of water or other aqueous solvent.
Packaging: the composition according to the invention can be packaged in bottles.
Uses: watering at the foot of roses, hydrangeas, geraniums and other flowering plants, indoor plants or balcony and terrace, garden plants. When using the liquid fertilizer will be diluted in water at a dilution factor generally between 0.3 and 1%.
