PROFILE FOR DOOR OR WALL PANELS
This invention relates to a profile for door or wall panels of a shower device. This invention also relates to a shower device comprising one or more such door and / or wall panels and comprising one or more profiles for these door and / or wall panels.
During the shower, slipping or becoming unwell can cause falls and / or injuries. Seniors, disabled and sick people in particular run an increased risk of falling and / or being hurt while showering. As a precaution, shower facilities in residential and care centers, hospitals and rehabilitation centers are often equipped with an alarm system with which a fallen and / or injured person can alert others. Shower devices in homes of seniors are also increasingly provided with such alarm systems.
There are different types of alarm systems. There are alarm systems with which a visual or auditory signal is sent and there are also alarm systems with which third parties can be called. Some systems can also do both. In residential and care centers, hospitals and rehabilitation centers, these alarm systems are often connected to the central room where the nurses / carers are staying. If someone falls into a said shower device, a visual signal and / or an auditory signal will be heard in that room. furthermore, alarm systems are often used in homes of seniors with which family members and / or friends are automatically called by telephone.
These alarm systems are usually attached to a shower wall of the shower device. They are provided with an alarm button, which can be pressed, for example, or which can be pulled with a cord. The signal is then generated by pressing or pulling the alarm button.
The disadvantage of these existing alarm systems is that they occupy a certain space in the shower facility. As a result, they often hinder those who wish to shower. In alarm systems comprising a cord, the cord is often tied because the cord takes up too much space and hinders the person in the shower room. After a fall it is then not possible to pull on the cord. The existing alarm systems are also visually striking, which means that the shower facility has the appearance of a shower facility for seniors, the disabled and / or the sick. This is experienced by many as disturbing. Moreover, a user of the shower device is always confronted with the fact that he or she is old, disabled and / or sick.
It is therefore an object of the invention to manufacture a shower device provided with an alarm system with an alarm button with which a signal can be output, wherein the view of the shower device is not disturbed by the alarm system and wherein the alarm system is the person who is showering does not interfere.
This object is achieved by providing a profile for door or wall panels of a shower device, the profile comprising a controllable alarm button, which is provided to generate a signal as a result of an operating action.
When a user of a shower device comprising one or more panels provided with such a profile falls and / or hurts, the user can generate a signal by performing the operating action. In this way it is therefore possible to inform others of his or her fall and / or injury.
The generated signal can for example be a visual and / or auditory signal. This signal can be generated in the shower device itself or in the room in which the shower device is located. In residential and care centers, hospitals, rehabilitation centers and the like, a signal can also be generated in a room where nurses / carers are located.
Since the profile includes the alarm button, this alarm button is less prominent. In the case of a shower device comprising such a profile, the alarm button will be less noticeable, as a result of which the shower device will then not or less have the appearance of a shower device for seniors, disabled persons and / or the sick. A user of this shower device is therefore less confronted with his age, disability and / or illness.
In a shower device comprising a profile according to the invention, the alarm button is located at the height of the profile. Most shower devices include profiles that are at the height or in the vicinity of corners such as corner profiles or door profiles. An alarm button located at or in the vicinity of a corner of the shower device will hardly hinder, or hardly hinder, the shower.
The profile can include one or more alarm buttons.
In a preferred embodiment the profile comprises an opening suitable for receiving said alarm button. The alarm button is integrated here in the profile so that the alarm button has little influence on the appearance of the profile. With a shower device comprising such a profile, the alarm button, because it is integrated in the profile, will not hinder the user of the shower device much. Even if the said profile is not used in the vicinity of corners or as a corner profile, the alarm button will not or will hardly hinder the said user.
When the profile is a profile with a substantially U-shaped cross-section, an L-shaped cross-section, or the like, the inside of the profile is provided to lean against a door or wall panel. The said opening then preferably extends through the outside of the profile to the inside and then forms a transverse opening in the profile.
Furthermore, in a specific embodiment, the alarm button is provided to extend through the opening and beyond the surface of the outside of the profile. The alarm button here forms a protrusion with respect to the profile, so that the alarm button is easily accessible and can therefore be operated properly. In the case of an depressable alarm button it is indicated that, in an unpressed state of the alarm button, the alarm button extends beyond the said surface. In a depressed state it is possible that the alarm button no longer extends beyond the said surface. Other types of alarm buttons are of course also possible.
In another specific embodiment, the alarm button is provided for extending substantially into the surface of the outside of the profile. Since the alarm button extends into the said surface, the alarm button fully merges into the profile and does not form a protrusion. This alarm button will not interfere with the shower in a shower device comprising such a profile. In the case of an depressable alarm button, this means that in an unpressed state of the alarm button, the alarm button extends into the said surface.
Furthermore, the alarm button is preferably provided to be incorporated substantially watertight in the opening. The alarm button can, for example, be mounted watertight in the opening using an O-ring, a sealing ring or a seal. Preferably, the alarm button, at the level of the opening, is designed to fit the opening. The alarm button is preferably also watertight in itself.
In a very preferred embodiment, the alarm button, for generating and / or transmitting said signal, is connected to one or more cables which are provided for extending into a space between the profile and the door or wall panel. As a result of the control action, a signal is generated by the alarm button. This signal can then be sent using cables to where an alarm should be raised. For example, if electricity is needed to generate the signal, the cables can supply electricity to the alarm button to ensure its operation.
An additional disadvantage with the existing shower devices provided with alarm systems with a controllable alarm button is that the operation of the battery alarm button is controlled. When the battery is empty, the alarm system no longer works. For example, if you need the alarm button, it will no longer work. Because electrical cables can be placed in the profile according to the invention to supply the alarm button with power, the continuous operation of the alarm button is ensured.
In the existing shower facilities, no cables are provided to send the signal from the alarm button. Sending signals is done wirelessly via WIFI or the like. During a malfunction of WI-FI or the like, the signal is not always sent. In hospitals and the like, the use of wireless communication is not always possible in all rooms, which means that the signal cannot always be sent to the most suitable room. By working with cables, there is more certainty that the signal is being sent properly and you can always send the signal to the most suitable room.
The cables can be electrical cables for sending an electrical signal. However, they can also be analog cables. Analog cables are very suitable for use in wet environments because no electrical short circuit can occur on these cables. Since the cables are located in the space between the profile and the door or wall panel, these cables are hidden from view and cannot be reached by those who shower. The latter contributes to safety. When the alarm button is inserted watertight in the opening, there is also no risk of the said space getting wet.
The alarm button is preferably an depressible button. Pressing a button is an action that is easy to implement.
In a preferred embodiment, the alarm button is a pneumatic push button. Contact between the user and electricity is avoided via a pneumatic push button.
In a specific embodiment, the alarm button is a mechanical push button.
The profile preferably comprises a lighting element, which is provided to light up after generating the signal. The lighting element is, for example, a lamp such as an LED lamp. This lamp can be a separate lamp that is at a distance from the alarm button, but this lamp can also be integrated in the alarm button, whereby the alarm button is then transparent. By working the lamp in, the profile can be made tighter and there are also fewer separate parts. This lighting element will light up after the signal has been generated. The person who has carried out the aforementioned operating action will see as a result that the operating action has been carried out properly and the signal has been generated / sent. He or she knows that help is on its way. Of course, alternative embodiments are possible in which the profile comprises, for example, instead of a lighting element, means for generating a sound, after generating the signal. The user is then audibly informed that he has performed the operation correctly and the signal has been generated / sent. The lighting element can also always be provided to emit light, wherein after the generation of the signal the lighting element, the light emitted, has a different color.
In a preferred embodiment the alarm button is provided with a speech or sound recognition system, and the said operating action can be carried out by pronouncing a specific word or making a specific sound. In certain circumstances, a fallen or hurt person may no longer be able to perform physical actions with his hands and, for example, can only talk or call. By working with a speech or sound recognition system, the person can generate a signal by talking or calling and receive help. The alarm button can further be expanded with communication means that allow the user to communicate with the receiver, e.g. the rescuer, of the generated signal.
The alarm button preferably comprises an emergency battery to generate the signal. In the event of a power failure, the operation of the alarm button is then guaranteed.
The above object is also achieved by providing a shower device comprising one or more door and / or wall panels and comprising one or more profiles for these door and / or wall panels, wherein at least one of the profiles is a profile as shown above . One of the profiles can be an above-mentioned profile according to the invention. The shower device then comprises one profile with at least one alarm button. However, several profiles can also be profiles according to the invention. When a person falls or hurts, his or her movement options are often limited. By providing multiple profiles with alarm buttons, there is a greater chance that the person who has fallen and / or is hurt can perform an operation of an alarm button.
This invention will now be further elucidated with reference to the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of a profile and a shower device according to the present invention. The purpose of this description is to give only illustrative examples and to indicate further advantages and details of this profile and shower device, and can therefore in no way be interpreted as a limitation of the scope of the invention or of the claims defined in the claims. claimed patent rights.
In this detailed description reference is made by reference numerals to the accompanying drawings, in which - figure 1 shows a front view of a profile according to the invention, the profile being partially transparent to make the cables visible; - figure 2 is a detailed representation of the profile shown in figure 1, on which the alarm button is visible.
The profile (1) shown in Figure 1 is part of a shower device comprising a plurality of wall panels and a hinged door panel for entering the shower device. The profile (1) shown is the door profile of the hinged door panel.
The profile (1) comprises a controllable alarm button (2), which is provided to generate a visual and / or auditory signal as a result of a control action. By operating the alarm button (2), the person in the shower can alert others when a problem occurs, for example when someone has fallen and / or has been hurt.
The alarm button (2) is received in a transverse circular opening (5) of the profile (1), which extends between the outside (4) and the inside of the profile (1) and which is directed towards the inside of the shower device so that the person inside the shower device can operate the alarm button (2).
The alarm button (2) is incorporated watertight in this opening (5). The alarm button (2) is designed to fit the opening (5) and the alarm button (5) is attached with an O-ring in the opening (5).
The profile (1) further comprises several cables (3) which are connected to the alarm button (2). These cables (3) provide the alarm button (2) with electricity and ensure that the signal can be sent to the desired room. These cables (3) are located in a space between the profile (1) and the door panel so that these cables (3) are not visible. Because the alarm button (2) is incorporated watertight in the opening (5) and the profile (1) is made of a watertight material, the cables (3) are well shielded from the water that is used inside the shower room, so there is no danger is for short circuit and / or electric shock.
The alarm button (2) is a pneumatically compressible push button that is transparent and that is inside a LED light that lights up when a signal is generated and sent. By pressing the alarm button (2) a signal is generated and sent and the LED lamp also lights up. The person who has operated the alarm button (2) knows that the signal has been sent by the illuminated LED lamp.
The alarm button (2) is further provided with a speech or sound recognition system, with which the alarm button (2) can also be operated. When one is no longer able to press the alarm button (2), one can speak and get help by speaking a specific word or making a specific sound. Moreover, the alarm button (2) can also be designed in such a way that spoken communication is possible between the person in the shower device and the person receiving the signal. In this way it becomes possible to reassure the person in the shower device from a distance and / or to give instructions.
The alarm button (2) is also equipped with an emergency battery so that the alarm button (2) remains usable in the event of a power failure.
