Grille construction, frame profile therefor as well as facade with such a grille construction
The invention relates to a grid construction, comprising a burglary-resistant grid provided with a frame made of frame profiles as well as mutually parallel slats included in the frame, and a frame, such as a frame, from which the grid is suspended.
Such a grid construction is known from NL-C-2002316. This known grid construction offers good protection against forcing and burglary. To this end, fixing anchors are provided at the edges of the frame profiles, by means of which the grille can be securely fixed in a facade opening and the like. These fixing anchors are not easily accessible from the outside of the grid construction, which further contributes to the burglary resistance.
The interior spaces in a building can be ventilated using the grid. In particular this known grid construction is suitable for use in an opening in a wall and the like. To this end, the fixing anchors extend over the walls of the opening that determine the passage, and can be properly secured there. In practice, such a method of fixing the grid appears to be less suitable for other types of openings, such as, for example, those in which a frame determines the rim of the opening. A panel may be located in the frame, but this is not necessary.
Because buildings are becoming increasingly better insulated, it turns out that it is not easy to dissipate the heat that has accumulated in the building during the day due to the sun's rays. That is why people are increasingly moving towards using so-called summer night cooling. This means that large amounts of air are to flow through the building during the night, so that the internal temperature drops.
In that context, openings must be present in the facade and the like of the building. These openings can usually be closed by a panel located in a frame. However, for security reasons, it is necessary to equip such openings with a burglar-resistant grid, especially if the panel is opened at night for summer power cooling. In addition, not only the grid itself, but also its attachment to the facade must be burglar-resistant.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a burglary-resistant grid construction that is particularly suitable for such an application. That object is achieved in that at least one of the frame profiles has an elongated slot facing the rim, that the rim cooperates with fixing means and that the fixing means are fixed in the slot.
The grille is fixed by means of fasteners, which can only be reached from the inside of the building. Because the slot extends along the opening, it is always ensured that the fastening means can be fixed without the need for providing special openings on the frame profiles. This makes it easy to use multiple fasteners, at random pitch distances from each other.
The slot is preferably provided with internal ridges and / or grooves which extend in the longitudinal direction of the slot. These ridges / grooves can be located on opposite slot walls. The surfaces of the slot walls on which the ridges and / or grooves are located are facing each other such that the fixing means can each be properly secured in the slot on opposite sides. According to a first possibility, screws can be used as fastening means. The screws may optionally be self-tapping, in which case the slot walls need not have pre-arranged ridges and / or grooves. The screw means, the threaded rod of which is screwed into the slot, may have a head at the end of that stem which rests against a surface of the rim remote from the at least one frame profile. The screw heads are therefore well concealed and unreachable from the outside. This makes forcing or burglary more difficult or even impossible.
It is not necessary to use screws. An alternative example is mentioned in the embodiment in which the fixing means comprise an expandable element which is fixed therein by expansion transversely to the longitudinal walls of the slot. For example, the slot may comprise an undercut cavity such that the expanded element, such as a snap element or a snap element, is hooked into the undercut cavity.
However, the fixing means with an expandable element can also be used in combination with a slot that has flat longitudinal walls, without ridges or grooves. The expandable element then cooperates with the longitudinal walls of the slot by means of friction.
The frame profiles can be designed in many different ways. Preference is given to an embodiment in which the at least one frame profile on the side remote from the slats has a nose which lies against the edge. The slot is located in this nose. Furthermore, the frame profiles can have a chamber, viewed in cross-section thereof, in which a reinforcement extends, such as a steel profile. This reinforcement offers a further increase in burglary security. In particular, the reinforcement can be located in the frame profiles on the end faces of the slats, and, viewed in the direction from those end faces, extend over the slats.
The border can consist of different types of elements. As already mentioned, it can involve the rim of a hole in a facade, such as a brick structure. In particular, however, the border may comprise a frame consisting of frame profiles, which frame profiles have holes through which a screw bolt screwed into the slot of a frame profile extends. These frame profiles can have an upright stop projecting to the opposite frame profile, such that the fixing means extend through holes in that stop.
The frame profiles can form a fixed frame, in which fixed frame a wing is suspended which is transferable between an opened and a closed state, in which closed state the wing abuts against the stops of the frame profiles.
The invention further relates to a facade, comprising an opening and a grid construction covering the opening as described above, with a burglary-resistant grid provided with a frame made of frame profiles and mutually parallel slats included in the frame, wherein at least one of the frame profiles has an elongated slot that is facing the façade parts that surround the opening. These façade parts work together with fixing means that are fixed in the slot.
In addition, the invention relates to a frame profile for the grid construction as described above, comprising a chamber, viewed in cross-section thereof, that extends in the longitudinal profile direction, a longitudinal channel open on one side defining an elongated internal slot, whose opposite channel walls face their surfaces facing each other have ridges and / or grooves for receiving a fastening means such as a screw bolt or an expandable element. However, the channel walls can also be flat, without gripping or ridges, if a frictionally expandable fastener is used.
The closed chamber is preferably L-shaped or U-shaped and is located in a first frame profile part which is hollow on one side. Furthermore, a second frame profile part is provided which is remote from the concave side of the first frame profile part and which comprises an open slot. The second frame profile part is nose-shaped and protrudes relative to the first frame profile part.
Reference is made to the grid as known from EP-A-1617155. This grid has a frame made of frame profiles that have a slot with screw bolts screwed into it. These screw bolts serve to attach the slats to the frame and are accessible from outside. The screw bolts play no role in burglary-resistant fixing of the grille to the facade, or to a frame and the like. The protection against burglary and forcing this known schedule is therefore problematic. . The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown in the figures.
Figure 1 shows a frame with a wing and grid construction.
Figure 2 shows a part of Figure 1 on a larger scale
Figure 3 shows the detail according to III of Figure 2 on a larger scale.
Figure 4 shows an alternative detail.
Figure 1 shows a section through a part of the grid construction, with the grid 1 and the frame 2 that is received in the facade opening of a building 3. The grid 1 consists of a frame 4 in which several grid slats 5 are included. The frame consists of four frame profiles 6 which together form a rectangle or square in which the grid slats 5 are held captive. As is shown in Figure 2, the frame profiles 6 each have a first frame profile part 7 which has an internally closed chamber 8 into which a steel reinforcement profile 9 is slid. The chamber 8 and the profile are L-shaped, such that one leg rests against the ends of the louvre slats and the other leg overlaps the louvre slats on the outside. A good protection against forcing the grid is thus obtained.
In an alternative embodiment (not shown), the chamber and the reinforcement can also be U-shaped, such that the inside of the slats is also covered by an overlapping leg. In both cases a cavity 10 is present on the inside of the frame profiles 6 in which the slats are held firmly. On the side of the frame profiles 6 remote from the cavity 10, they have a second frame profile part in the form of a nose 11. This nose 11 has a slot 12 which is defined by two walls 13, 14, which slot faces the frame 2.
The frame 2 consists of four fixed frame profiles 15 which are fixed around the opening of the building 3, as well as a wing 16. In the example shown, the wing 16 is designed as a glass window with associated usual profiles. In the closed state of the glass window, this abuts against the upstanding stop 17 of the frame profiles. In a known manner, not further described, the glass window connects to the frame 2 by means of elastic sealing profiles.
Holes 18 are provided in the upright stop 17 of the frame profiles 15 into which screw bolts 19 are inserted. The head 20 of the screw bolts rests against the side of the stop 17 remote from the grid 1. The stem 21 of the screw bolts 19 is screwed into the slot 12 of the frame profile 6.
As shown in Figure 3, the walls 13, 14 of the slot 12 of the frame profile 6 have ridges 22 and 23 on their mutually facing surfaces. These ridges have dimensions and pitch spacing such that the thread 24 of the shank 21 can cooperate with it, such that the screw bolt 19 can be screwed tightly into the slot 12.
In the variant of figures 1-3, the fixing means are designed as screw bolts 19. Alternatively, however, other fixing means can also be used, such as the snap or snap elements 25 shown in figure 4. The ridges 27 can be barbed in this case. When the snap element 25 is pressed into the slot 12, its legs are pushed inwardly along the barb-shaped ridges 27. The legs spring back as soon as the ridges 27 click into the recesses 28. The snap element 25 thus expanded is then firmly secured in the undercut cavity 26 of the slot 12 defined behind the ridges 27.
The snap elements 25 further have a head (not shown) which, as with the screw bolts, rests against the side of the stop 17 remote from the grid 1.
