Wischaummi with Austauschhinweis state of the art
Wiper rubbers of windscreen wipers are used to ensure a good visibility in the wet by a disc.
The documents US 2003/0233722 A1 and US 4,622,712 describe wiper blades for windscreen wipers.
However, when operating a windshield wiper, the squeegee gradually wears out. With conventional wiping rubbers, this process is creeping, so that the user often does not recognize the right time to replace the squeegee. However, if a squeegee is not replaced in time, it may happen that the squeegee completely loses its wiping function at a time when no replacement wiper blade is available.
Disclosure of the invention
The present invention is a squeegee for a windshield wiper, for example for a vehicle, for example a motor vehicle.
The squeegee comprises a wiper lip, a tilting ridge and a mounting portion. The wiper lip has a wiper lip head and a wiper lip tip. The wiper blade head is connected via a tilting ridge with a mounting portion.
According to the invention, the wiper lip head is formed from an elastomer component which comprises at least one filler with an average particle size in a range of 5 50 pm to 150 pm.
The wiper lip tip is formed from an elastomer component which comprises at most fillers having an average particle size of less than 50 μm. It is both possible that the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip contains fine-grained fillers, as well as that the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip is free of fillers.
The wiping properties of a wiper blade rubber should actually be effected essentially by the wiping edges of the wiper lip tip. Over time, however, the wiper lip tip and thus also their wiping edges gradually wear off, so that, starting at a certain degree of wear of the wiper lip tip, the wiping edges are formed by the wiper lip head.
In conventional wiper blades, in which the wiper lip tip and the wiper lip head are formed of the same material, this transition takes place creeping and often unnoticed by the user. This often means that the squeegee is not replaced in time and after a longer period, if necessary, even a point can be reached at which tear off the wiper lip tip and thus can no longer ensure wiping function and sufficient visibility.
In wiper blades, in which only the wiper lip tip, but not the wiper blade head is designed to achieve a sufficient wiping quality, such a change from a sufficient to an insufficient wiping quality can be abrupt, which is why such wiper rubbers especially early, especially before reaching the insufficient wiping quality, should be replaced. However, this in turn requires a particularly high attention of the user or the maintenance personnel.
The invention is based on the principle that by virtue of the fact that the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip comprises only fine-grained fillers or is filler-free, a very good wiping quality can be achieved with the wiper lip tip and its wiping edges. By adding at least one filler having an average particle size in the range of 50 μm to 150 μm to the wiper blade head elastomer component, the wiping quality of the wiper blade head or the wiping edge formed after the wear of the wiper lip tip on the wiper lip head can be adjusted such that Although their wiping quality is noticeably worse than the wiping quality of the wiper lip tip and its wiping edges, it is nevertheless sufficiently good for safe operation. Due to the noticeable abrupt change from a very good wiping quality to a sufficiently good, but noticeably worse wiping quality, the user can be shown that the time has come to replace the wiper blade, without jeopardizing its safety by an insufficient wiping quality, and so to increase the overall security.
For example, the at least one filler of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may have an average particle size in a range of from 50 pm to 100 pm. For example, the elastomeric component of the wiper lip tip may comprise at most fillers having an average particle size of 45 45 μm, for example ≦ 30 μm, for example ≦ 20 μm.
In one embodiment, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head comprises from 0.001% to 5% by weight, based on the total weight of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head, of fillers having an average particle size in the range of 50 μm to <150 μm, for example, from 50 pm to 100 pm. In particular, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head can be from 0.001 wt% or 0.002 wt% or 0.01 wt% or 0.02 wt% to 5 wt% or 4 wt%. % or <3 wt% or 2.5 wt% or 2 wt% or 1.5 wt% or 1 wt% or 0.8 wt% or s from 0.6% by weight, for example from 0.01% by weight to <2% by weight or up to 1% by weight, for example from 0.02% by weight to 0.6% by weight %, based on the total weight of the elastomeric component of the mop head, of fillers having an average particle size in a range of from 50 pm to 150 pm, in particular from 50 pm to <100 pm. Such a proportion of coarse-grained fillers has proved to be advantageous for achieving a sufficiently good wiping quality.
In addition to the coarse-grained fillers, the elastomer component of the wiper blade head may contain further fillers. The total proportion of fillers in the elastomer component of the wiper blade head can amount to a total of 2% by weight to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head.
Within the scope of a further embodiment, therefore, the elastomer component of the wiper blade head comprises a total of from 2% by weight to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head, of fillers. For example, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may include a total of from about 5 weight percent to about 40 weight percent, for example, from about 10 weight percent to about 30 weight percent, based on the total weight of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head, of fillers.
Of the total weight of fillers (total filler weight) of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head, fillers having an average particle size in a range of> 50 pm to 150 pm, for example from 50 pm to 100 pm, for example a total of 0.02 part by weight, may be used % to 10% by weight, based on the total filler weight of the elastomeric component of the wiper blade head.
In a further embodiment, therefore, the proportion of fillers having an average particle size in a range of from £ 50 pm to £ 150 pm, for example from £ 50 pm to £ 100 pm, in the total filler weight of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head is £ 0.02 wt. % to 10% by weight, based on the total filler weight. For example, the proportion of fillers having an average particle size in a range of from £ 50 pm to £ 150 pm, for example from £ 50 pm to £ 100 pm, in the total filler weight of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may be from £ 0.2% to £ 5% by weight, for example from 0.2% by weight to 2% by weight, in particular based on the total filler weight of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head. In other words, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may contain a fraction of one or more fillers having an average particle size in a range of> 50 μm to 150 μm, for example> 50 μm to 100 μm, their proportion to the total filler weight of the elastomer component of the squeegee head a from 0.02 wt% to <10 wt%, for example, from 0.2 wt% to <5 wt%, for example, from 0.2 wt% to 2 lbs Wt .-%, in particular based on the total filler weight of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head, makes up.
Since the average particle size indicates the average of different sized particles of a particle size distribution, it is possible that a filler having an average particle size of less than 50 μm also contains particles with a particle size of 50 μm or more than 50 μm.
In order to improve the wiping quality, it has proved to be advantageous if the proportion of filler particles having a particle size of s 50 pm on the total filler weight of the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip or on the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip is as small as possible. Based on the total filler weight of the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip, the proportion of filler particles having a particle size of 50 50 μm may, for example, be less than 0.01% by weight, in particular less than 0.005% by weight, for example less than 0.002% by weight, be. Based on the total weight of the elastomeric component of the wiper lip tip, the proportion of filler particles having a particle size of 50 pm, for example, less than 0.005 wt .-%, in particular less than 0.002 wt .-%, for example less than 0.001 wt .-% or even less than 0.0002 wt .-%, amount.
In another embodiment, therefore, the proportion of filler particles having a particle size of 50 50 pm, based on the total weight of the elastomer component (B) of the wiper lip tip (11b), is less than 0.005% by weight. For example, the proportion of filler particles having a particle size of s 50 pm, based on the total weight of the elastomeric component of the wiper lip tip, less than 0.002 wt .-%, for example less than 0.001 wt .-% or even less than 0.0002 wt .-% , amount.
The elastomeric component of the wiper blade head may contain, for example, at least one filler selected from the group consisting of silica, silica, quartz, silicates such as calcium silicate and aluminum silicate, talc, kaolin, clay, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, iron oxide, Calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, chalk, carbon black and mixtures thereof. For example, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range of from 50 pm to 150 pm of the elastomer component of the mop head can be selected from this group.
In principle, the elastomer component of the wiper blade head or its filler (s) can be both black or white and also colored. By virtue of the fact that the elastomer component of the wiper lip head or its filler (s) is white or colored and, for example, the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip or its filler (s) is black or other color, the user can advantageously have the time for the wiping quality to change abruptly from very good to sufficiently good wiping quality replacement of the wiper blade rubber by a change in color of the wiping edges or the area extending therebetween or the filler particles contained therein are displayed.
In particular, the elastomer component of the mop head may comprise at least one white and / or colored filler, optionally a mixture of one or more white fillers and one or more colored fillers.
In the context of a specific embodiment, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range from 50 μητι to 150 μιη, for example from 50 μητι to 100 μm, the elastomer component of the squeegee head white and / or colored, especially white.
For example, silicic acid, silica, quartz, quartz flour, silicates such as calcium silicate, aluminum silicate, talc, kaolin, clay, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, chalk and mixtures thereof can be used as white fillers. These fillers are inexpensive and have an advantageous effect on the wiping quality. Kaolin, zinc oxide, in particular synthetic, silicic acid and, in particular, synthetic silicates, have proved to be particularly advantageous.
As a colored filler, for example, iron oxide can be used. Iron oxide is advantageously an environmentally friendly, colorful filler.
In a further specific embodiment, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range from 50 pm to 150 pm, for example from 2: 50 pm to 100 pm, is the elastomeric component of the squeegee head selected from the group consisting of silica, silica , Quartz, quartz powder, silicates such as calcium silicate, aluminum silicate, talc, kaolin, clay, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, iron oxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, chalk, for example kaolin, zinc oxide and, especially synthetic, silica, and mixtures thereof.
The elastomer component of the wiper blade head can in particular comprise at least one filler which has a specific surface area, in particular measured by nitrogen adsorption, of not more than 80 m 2 / g, for example of not more than 70 m 2 / g. For example, the fillers of the elastomeric component of the wiper blade head can have a specific surface area, in particular measured by nitrogen adsorption, of not more than 80 m 2 / g, for example of not more than 70 m 2 / g. Thus, advantageously, the setting of the desired wiping quality and the mechanical properties, the heat and / or deformation resistance (English: Permanent Set) and the life can be improved.
Within the scope of a further specific embodiment, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range from s 50 μm to 150 μm, for example from 50 μm to 100 μm, of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head has a specific surface area, in particular as measured by nitrogen adsorption maximum 80 m2 / g, for example of a maximum of 70 m2 / g. For example, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range of 2 50 pm to 150 pm of the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may be selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, kaolin, zinc oxide, especially synthetic, silica, especially synthetic, silicates and mixtures thereof, and having a specific surface area, in particular measured by nitrogen adsorption, of not more than 80 m2 / g, for example of not more than 70 m2 / g.
Alternatively or additionally, surface modification may be performed, for example, by treatment of filler particles with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of silanes, such as mercapto, amino, vinyl, epoxy, and / or methacrylate functionalized silanes, polyhydric alcohols, such as glycols, and / or glycerol, carboxylic acids, such as stearic acid, basic compounds, such as secondary, tertiary or other polyvalent amines, for example triethanolamine, functionalized polymers, for example, which have acid or anhydride groups in side chains or as a copolymer. By a treatment of, for example, white, fillers, such as kaolin, silica, silica, quartz, silica flour and silicates, with one or more of the above compounds, for example silanes, advantageously the attachment of the particles to the elastomer component can be improved and / or Water absorption of the particles can be reduced.
These surface modifications can additionally be combined with pretreatment methods for particles, such as calcination.
Within the scope of a further specific embodiment, the at least one filler having an average particle size in a range from 50 μm to 150 μm, for example from 50 μm to 100 μm, is the elastomer component of the wiper blade head with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of silanes, such as mercapto, amino, vinyl, epoxy and / or methacrylate-functionalized silanes, polyhydric alcohols, such as glycols and / or glycerol, carboxylic acids, such as stearic acid, basic compounds, such as secondary, tertiary or other polyvalent amines, for example Triethanolamine, functionalized polymers, for example, which in side chains or as a copolymer acid or anhydride groups, surface-modified. Optionally, the particles of the at least one filler with an average
Particle size in a range of> 50 μη to 150 μιτι, for example, from> 50 μητι to <100 μη, the elastomeric component of the wiper blade head, in particular before or after the surface modification, be calcined.
The wiper lip tip and the wiper lip head are preferably formed from elastomer components which are at least similar or compatible with the connection. Thus, on the one hand, a good connection of the wiper lip tip to the wiper lip head can be achieved. On the other hand, setting the wiping quality change from very good to sufficiently good wiping quality can be adjusted more easily.
In this context, similar elastomer components can be understood in particular to be elastomer components which contain the same elastomers or at least elastomers of the same elastomer class.
Elastomer components which may be compatible with the bonding can be understood as meaning elastomers of optionally different elastomer classes which can be bonded to one another, for example natural rubber (NR) and butadiene rubber (BR), and / or by coextrusion and / or two-component injection molding and / or compression molding Molding) are adhered to each other, for example, natural rubber (NR) and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM).
For example, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head and the elastomeric component of the squeeze-lip may comprise one or more elastomers selected from the group consisting of natural rubber (NR), isoprene rubber (IR), butadiene rubber (BR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR ), Butyl rubber (IIR), chlorobutyl rubber (CIIR), bromobutyl rubber (BIIR), chloroprene rubber (CR), ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM), ethylene-propylene rubber (EPM), nitrile rubber Rubber (NBR), nitrile rubber / polyvinyl chloride (NBR / PVC), hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR), ethylene-vinyl acetate rubber (EVM), chlorinated polyethylene (CM), chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber (CSM) and mixtures thereof.
For example, combinations of similar chloroprene rubber (CR) and / or natural rubber (NR) and / or ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) blends are possible. Combinations of different interfacial elastomer classes such as natural rubber ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (NR-EPDM) are also possible. Also, blends of elastomer grades, such as natural rubber butadiene rubber (NR-BR), are also possible.
In one embodiment, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head and the elastomeric component of the squeeze-lip are based on the same classes of elastomer, particularly elastomers.
In the context of a special embodiment, the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip, apart from the filler (s), has the same composition as the elastomer component of the wiper lip head. For example, the elastomeric component of the squeegee head may be substantially (only) differentiated by the average filler particle size and the filler content of the elastomeric component of the wiper lip tip.
In the context of a further embodiment, the tilting web and the fastening portion are formed from the elastomeric component of the wiper blade head. This advantageously makes it possible, inter alia, to simplify the production of the wiper blade rubber.
In the context of a further embodiment, the wiper lip head and the wiper lip tip are at least partially interlocked or interlocked in a connection region. Thus, advantageously, a particularly stable mechanical connection between the wiper lip tip and the wiper lip head can be achieved.
As part of an embodiment of this embodiment, the outer portions of the elastomeric component of the wiper lip tip are formed in the connecting region between the wiper lip head and wiper lip tip. Such a configuration has the advantage that the wiping edges are formed over as long a period as possible by the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip, which has very good wiping properties. One or more inner sections may be formed in the connecting region between the wiper lip head and the wiper lip tip of the elastomeric component of the wiper lip head.
As part of a special embodiment of this embodiment, a portion of the wiper blade head adjacent to the wiper lip tip is convex and engages in a corresponding concave portion of the wiper lip tip. In this case, the outer portions are formed by the concave portion of the wiper lip tip, which is associated with the above-described advantage that the wiping edges are formed over as long a period of time by the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip, which has very good wiping properties.
In the context of a further embodiment, the wiper lip tip, in particular measured between the plane of the wiper edges (when new) and the wiper lip head, in particular the wiper lip head section closest thereto, has a height (h) of more than 1.0 mm. For example, the wiper lip tip may have a height (h) of> 1.1 mm or> 1.5 mm and / or of 3.0 mm or <2.5 mm or 2.0 mm. Such a high height (h) of the wiper lip tip can advantageously ensure a very good wiping quality over many months.
The thickness (d) of the wiper lip tip may, for example, be in a range of from 0.5 mm to 2 mm, for example from 0.6 mm to 1.4 mm.
In a further embodiment, the squeegee is made by co-extrusion of the elastomer component of the wiper blade head and the elastomer component of the wiper lip tip. Thus, the squeegee can be made particularly simple and inexpensive.

drawing
Further advantages and advantageous embodiments of the subject invention are illustrated by the drawings and explained in the following description. It should be noted that the drawings have only descriptive character and are not intended to limit the invention in any way. Show it

2 shows a schematic cross section through a second embodiment of a wiper blade according to the invention;
3 shows a schematic cross section through a third embodiment of a wiper blade according to the invention; and FIG. 4 shows a schematic cross section through a fourth embodiment of a wiper rubber according to the invention.
FIGS. 1 to 4 show that the wiper blades 10 each have a wiper lip 11, a tilting web 12 and a fastening section 13. The wiper lip 11 has a wiper lip head 11a and a wiper lip tip 11b. The wiper lip tip 11b in this case has two wiping edges 11b ', 11b ", which sweep over the wiping disc 20 during the wiping movement while pushing water from the disc 20. The wiper lip tip 11b is connected to the wiper lip head 11a, which in turn is connected to the fastening section 13 via the tilting web 12, so that the entire wiper lip 11 can be tilted about the tilting web 12 during the wiping movement.
FIGS. 1 to 4 illustrate that the wiper lip head 11 a and the wiper lip tip 11 b are formed from different elastomer components A, B. In this case, the elastomer component A of the wiper blade head 11a differs essentially from the elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip in that the elastomer component A of the wiper lip head 11a comprises at least one filler having an average particle size in the range from s 50 .mu.m to .about.150 .mu.m, the elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip 11a Wischlippenspitze 11b contains at most fillers having an average particle size of less than 50 pm or is free of fillers.
Due to the fact that the elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip 11b comprises small-particle or no fillers, a very good wiping quality can thus be achieved. However, if the wiper lip tip 11b becomes so strong over time that the wiping edges 11b ', 11b "are formed by the coarser-grained elastomer components A of the wiper blade head 11a, the wiping quality decreases abruptly from a very good wiping quality to one for safe operation sufficient wiping quality, thus indicating to the user that the time for replacement of the squeegee 10 has been reached.
In addition, such an exchange indication can be emphasized more strongly in that white and / or colored fillers are selected as fillers for the elastomer component A of the wiper lip head 11a. The elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip 11b can have, for example, black or at least different colored fillers than the elastomer component A of the wiper lip head. In the case of wear of the wiper lip tip, the user is thus additionally informed of the time for exchanging the squeegee 10 by changing the color of the wiping edges 11b ', 11b "or of the surface or the filler particles contained therebetween.
FIGS. 1 to 4 additionally illustrate that the wiper lip head 11a and the wiper lip tip 11b are designed to partially engage one another in a connection region V. Thus, advantageously, a stable mechanical connection between the wiper blade head 11a and the wiper lip tip 11b can be achieved.
In particular, FIGS. 1 to 4 show that in the connection region V between the wiper lip head 11a and the wiper lip tip 11b, the outer sections are formed from the elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip 11b. In this case, an inner section in the connection region V between the wiper lip head 11a and the wiper lip tip 11b is formed from the elastomer component A of the wiper lip head 11a. In particular, while the inner portion of the wiper blade head 11a is convex and engages in the corresponding concave portion of the wiper lip tip 11b. Such a configuration has the advantage that the wiping edges 11b ', 11b "are formed over the longest possible time by the elastomer component B of the wiper lip tip 11b, which has very good wiping properties.
FIG. 1 further illustrates that the wiper lip tip 11b, measured between the plane of the wiper edges 11b ', 11b "and the section of the wiper blade head 11a closest thereto, has a height h of more than 1.0 mm. Such a large height h of the wiper lip tip 11b ensures a very good wiping quality over many months. The thickness d of the wiper lip tip 11b, measured between the wiping edges 11b ', 11b ", may be, for example, in a range of> 0.5 mm to 2 mm.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 2 differs essentially from the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 in that the wiper lip head 11a tapers more in the direction of the wiper lip tip 11b than in the embodiment shown in FIG.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 3 differs essentially from the embodiment shown in FIG
Wischlippenspitze 11b has a significantly greater height h than the wiper lip tip 11 b in the embodiment shown in Figure 2.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 4 differs essentially from the embodiment shown in FIG
Wischlippenkopf 11a narrower and the wiper lip 11 is shorter overall or less high than in the embodiment shown in Figure 2.
