Bank like a Swedish bank
The invention relates to a bank such as a Swedish bank.
Such benches can be used in gymnastics. Different versions, in combinations of steel and wood are available. Such benches have different uses in addition to a user's couch.
The benches can be moved. Because the weight of such benches can be more than 10 kg, there are embodiments in which moving is facilitated by the presence of moving means such as rolling means / wheels. The bench can be lifted at one end, this tilts, so that the support of the legs is taken over by wheels. The wheels then allow displacement. The wheels allow longitudinal movement of the bench. The degrees of freedom for relocation are very limited.
Swedish benches can be hung diagonally on a gymnastic device. When that obliquely suspended bench rests erroneously on the wheels instead of on uprights of the bench, a great force can be exerted on those wheels. This can lead to unsafe situations or damage.
Document FR 2 890 063 A1 describes a bench with a seat (plateau) and a frame with four legs. Swivel wheels are fitted on the underside of the legs. A roll with a kind of carpet (revêtement de sol) is provided under the bench, which carpet can be unrolled to lay on the floor of the gym. However, the well-known bench is not a Swedish bench that can be used for gymnastic exercises. Moreover, the known bench is always on its wheels, which is not preferable in the case of a Swedish bench since, for stability reasons, the bench can rest better on its legs than on its wheels for stability reasons.
It is a goal to solve or at least reduce at least one of the problems.
To this end, according to an aspect of the invention, a Swedish bank as defined in the appended claim 1 is provided. The sofa comprises an elongated frame with a number of legs. The legs are preferably located near the ends of the frame. The legs allow placement of the sofa on a surface. The sofa has an elongated seat. Multiple users can sit next to each other on this. The seat can also be used as a tread or as the interface of a sports field.
In one embodiment the bench comprises moving means, such as a bearing wheel. The wheel can then roll over the ground surface. The moving means are also movably connected to the frame. In particular, the axis of a wheel is movably connected to the frame in orientation. This allows the direction of movement to be changed. This facilitates maneuvering with the bench. This movability is therefore a displacement of the position of the wheel relative to the frame (not the rotation of the wheel in the same position). The displaceability of the means of movement makes the user more manageable degrees of freedom available for maneuvering.
The moving means and in particular one or more wheels can be pivotally connected to the frame. The pivotable connection is mechanically simple and robust. A bearing or slewing ring can be used.
In one embodiment, the bearing or slewing ring has an axis that extends from the plane of the longitudinal direction of the bench. The angle between the longitudinal direction and the axis of the axis is preferably between 5 and 40 degrees. Because the axis lies out of the plane of the longitudinal direction, pivoting of the movement means will lead to a movement from a ground plane / horizontal plane. This makes the use of the turntable very natural: by lifting the bench at one end and tilting it around the longitudinal axis, the movement means pivot.
In one embodiment, the bank further comprises a pre-tensioner. The pre-tensioner provides a pre-tension that biases the movably mounted moving means in a starting position substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction. The movement or displacement of the wheels relative to the bench / frame is thereby biased to a certain position, which considerably increases the control over the movement and thus over the direction of the maneuver.
In one embodiment, stop elements are provided near ends of the seat on a side remote from the seat. These one or more stop elements allow the connection of the bank to other devices.
The stop elements can have different shapes such as brackets, blocks etc. The stop elements allow hooking into another device.
In one embodiment, the moving means can move in at least two directions from the starting position. This makes it possible to maneuver to both sides. This results in a controllability comparable to a vehicle.
In one embodiment, the connection of the movement means to the frame provides at least a third degree of freedom of movement. The axis of the turntable can for instance be tiltable with respect to the frame.
This third degree of freedom makes it possible to 'fold in' the movement means so that the supporting function is taken over by the uprights of the bank. This is particularly advantageous when the bench is suspended obliquely from a gymnastic device, the end with the moving means being erroneously placed on the ground.
In one embodiment the moving means are connected to the frame by means of a suspension. The suspension forms an intermediate piece. The suspension can be a fork or fork. The suspension also forms an arm between the wheels and the frame due to the distance between, for example, the hinge with which the suspension is mounted on the frame and the wheels on the other.
In one embodiment, the axis of the turntable makes an angle of 10-40 degrees with the plane of the longitudinal direction. In one embodiment, the suspension is connected to the frame at an angle of 10-40 degrees with respect to the seat surface. This results in a hinge movement that lies in a similarly inclined plane.
In one embodiment, the suspension comprises a fork with at least two wheels. Such a suspension provides on the one hand a stable support and on the other hand can be manufactured as a simple semi-finished product.
In one embodiment, the pre-tensioner tensiones the suspension in the starting position. As a result, the bench comprises a construction in which the pre-tensioner engages the suspension and, for example, not directly on the wheels. Moreover, with one pre-tensioner, several wheels can be pre-tensioned to the starting position.
In one embodiment, the moving means are connected to the frame via the suspension and the pre-tensioner. In one embodiment, the pre-tensioner is both a hinge and pre-tensioner. This results in a more simple construction, in which several functions are combined in one part.
In one embodiment, the pre-tensioner comprises one or more torsion elements. Such a torsion element can easily be used as a pre-tensioner and can be manufactured at low costs. Moreover, this is very robust. Such Swedish banks can be used for more than 30 years, whereby considerable force can also be exerted on the pre-tensioner, for example in the event of an accident. Tensioners with torsion elements are proven to be robust.
In one embodiment, a side of the frame remote from the seat forms an equilibrium beam. This makes the Swedish bank more multifunctional.
In one embodiment the leg protrudes in the direction away from the seat surface beyond the moving means arranged near the leg. The leg thus forms the support on the ground surface in the upright position of use. Due to the proximity of the wheels, when the bench is tilted, for example by lifting one of the ends of the bench, the support function can be taken over by the wheels and the bench becomes mobile.
In one embodiment, the benches are stackable by a receiving space formed on the side of the bench remote from the seat, adapted to receive a seat of an underlying bench therein.
In one embodiment, moving means are arranged on either side of the receiving space.
Although the invention is described inter alia on the basis of the appended claims, it will be clear that any of the measures mentioned, with implicitly or explicitly stated advantages, can serve as the basis for a possible invention or additional invention in the form of a divisional application. Although the invention will be described with reference to preferred embodiments, it will be clear that several embodiments are possible within the scope of the invention.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a first embodiment of a Swedish bank;
Figure 2 shows a perspective view of the first embodiment;
Figure 3 shows a detail of a suspension according to an embodiment;
Figure 4 shows a section of a pre-tensioner according to an embodiment;
Figures 5a and 5b show a side view and a bottom view, respectively, of another embodiment; and Figures 6a and 6b show a side view and a bottom view, respectively, of yet another embodiment.
Figure 1 shows a Swedish sofa 1. The sofa has a seat 2, here formed by a number of wooden boards. The seat is elongated in the longitudinal direction 3. Such benches can be used in a gymnastic environment and can be used for several purposes.
The seat 2 is mounted on a steel frame 4. In other embodiments, seat 2 can be an integral part of the frame, for example both made of wood. Various embodiments of a Swedish bank are known.
The frame 4 comprises a longitudinal beam 5 which is provided with a wooden board 6 which can serve as an equilibrium beam when the Swedish bench 1 is placed with the seat on a surface, as shown in Figure 2.
The bank 1 has four legs 7-10. The legs can be part of the frame 4 or elements mounted on the frame. The legs can be provided with bump elements such as rubber caps 11.
In the embodiment shown, the Swedish bank 1 has two ends 14,15.
The legs 7-10 are provided near but not on the ends 14,15. This creates an empty space under the ends 14,15. The legs protrude in the direction away from the seat 2. The legs 7-10 provide stable support on a ground surface.
A gap is formed between the legs 7-10. This has a width 29 that is larger than the width of the seat 2. This allows the benches 1 to be stacked, whereby an underlying seat 2 can be accommodated in the interspace. The gap offers support in the width and thus offers stable stacking options.
Suspension elements 16, 17, 18 are arranged near the ends 14, 15. Stop 16 is a fixed element on the underside of end 14. The stop can be hooked into an opening or placed over a bar of a climbing frame. Bracket 18 allows the bench 1 to be mounted on a wall rack or. to hang a bouncy castle. The sofa 1 can then be hung diagonally. The bracket 18 can also be used for connection to a ring rope. An eye 17 can also be used for suspending the bench 1 from another gymnastic device.
Near ends 14,15 of the legs 7,8, movement means 20,21 are arranged. The moving means 20.21 are mounted wheels 23,24. The movement means 20.21 are only arranged near one end in this embodiment. The underside of the wheels 23, 24 are in the position shown just above the ground surface: on a flat surface, bench 1 stands on legs 7 and 8 on the surface.
The bank can be moved by lifting the bank at one end 14. The legs 7,8 will first of all fully support the bench. When the bench is further tilted according to arrow 25, the wheels 23, 24 will start to support the bench and the bench 1 can be moved.
In Figure 1, the wheels 23, 24 are shown in a starting position. The axes / axle lines of the wheels are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction 3 and rotation of the wheels 23, 24 will allow displacement of the bench 1 in the longitudinal direction.
The wheels 23, 24 are connected to the frame 2 via a suspension 30. The suspension 30 is shown in Figure 3.
Suspension 30 comprises two arms 31, 32 which are connected near one end to the turntable 35 schematically shown in Figure 3, which is also a pre-tensioner. Near the other end, the arms are connected to each other via a rod 34. Other embodiments are possible.
Rod 34 includes the bearing for axle 36.37 of wheels 23.24.
The turntable 35 connects the suspension with the frame. In this embodiment, the turntable 35 forms both the element that allows movement, here a hinged movement, of the suspension and therefore of the moving means 21,22 relative to the frame 2, as well as the element that biases the suspension in the starting position .
The turntable 35 has an axis line 50 shown in Figure 3. The axis line 50 is not in the plane of the longitudinal direction 3 of the bank. In this embodiment, the axis makes an angle alpha with this plane.
In another embodiment, the suspension is connected to the frame via a hinge, a bearing or another movement-permitting element. In addition, the suspension can be prestressed in the starting position via a separate pre-tensioner or pre-tensioners. In one embodiment, there is a hinged connection and two springs that engage on the frame and the respective arms 31, 32.
As a result of the movable coupling with the frame, the suspension can move in at least two directions from a certain starting position. In the embodiment shown, the suspension can pivot according to arrow 39.
In the embodiment shown, two wheels are connected to the suspension. One or more wheels can also.
Figure 4 shows a section along IV-IV in Figure 3 of the turntable 35 which is also pre-tensioner. Suspension 30 is accommodated between two plastic bearings (shaded) 41,42 which are clamped on a connecting disc 44 with a bolt 43 (and locking ring 46). The suspension 30 can hereby make the pivoting movement according to 39, but will be biased back to the starting position when the plastic parts 41,42 are moved from the starting position.
The connecting disk 44 can be welded to the frame or can even be an integral part of the frame 2.
Other embodiments of the pre-tensioner that is also a hinge are possible.
Slewing ring 35 further comprises a cover lid 45.
The turntable 35 shown is adapted to allow two-way pivoting, two degrees of freedom. In addition, the turntable 35 can also be adapted to allow movement of the suspension and therefore of the movement means 21,22 in the third direction. In this embodiment, tilting of the axis 50 according to arrow 51 is possible.
As a result, it is possible that, even when the bench 1 is positioned obliquely, the legs 7,8 nevertheless rest on the substrate and thus bear the weight of the bench. This is particularly advantageous when end 14 is lifted or suspended from another device and the bench 1 is exposed to a large load. Due to the extra freedom of movement, this large load can nevertheless be absorbed by the legs 7,8 when the suspension 30 tilts slightly according to arrow 51.
It will be clear that, within the scope of the invention, several embodiments of the connection of the moving means 21,22 to the frame allowing such degrees of freedom are possible.
The suspension 30 is preferably connected at an angle alpha, as shown in figure 1, to the frame 2 and the bench 1. As a result, the hinge movement 39 will extend in an oblique plane (with respect to the ground). With hinges, the one wheel will hereby protrude further in the direction away from the seat surface 3. The sofa will tilt slightly, creating a more natural feeling for the user. The wheel can optionally take place on one wheel.
In one embodiment the suspension comprises one wheel. This is shown in Figures 5a and 5b. Figure 5a shows an end 60 of a Swedish bank 61. Leg 62 serves for support in the normal position of use. One wheel 63 with an axle line 64 is connected via a schematically shown slewing ring 64 to the frame 65. Slewing ring 64 has an axle line 66. The axle line 66 makes an angle alpha with the plane of the longitudinal direction 67 of bank 61.
By lifting the bench 61 at the end not shown, the bench will be carried by the one wheel 63. By tilting the bench about the longitudinal direction 67, the wheel 63 will pivot according to arrow 68, thereby increasing the degree of maneuverability of the bench. bank 61 has increased considerably. Due to the slanted axis line 66, too much tilting around the longitudinal direction 67 will cause the leg 62 to come into contact with the ground. Slewing ring 64 can also be a pre-tensioner which biases the axis of wheel 63 in the position shown in Figure 5b, wherein the bench can easily be moved in the longitudinal direction 67.
When the bench 61 is erroneously suspended in a gym with the end (not shown), wheel 63 will tilt away with a certain load, the load nevertheless being absorbed by the legs 62.
Figures 6a and 6b show an embodiment in which two slewing rings 70,71 form the connection between the frame 72 and the respective wheels 73,74. Axis lines 75.76 are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction in the starting position, whereby movement of the bench in the longitudinal direction is easy.
Turning rings 70.71 allow swiveling of the wheels 73.74 according to arrows 77.78. For this purpose, turntables 70.71 have axis lines 79.80. These axis lines are placed at an angle alpha (> 5) with the plane of the longitudinal direction.
It will be clear to those skilled in the art that many different embodiments are possible within the scope of the invention.
