The invention relates to a hold-down according to the preamble of claim 1. A hold-down is a part of a vehicle clutch, wherein the hold-down holds down the coupling socket of a vehicle clutch on a coupling ball of the vehicle clutch. In this case, the holding-down device is locked in a hold-down position, in which the holding-down device contacts the side of the coupling socket facing away from the coupling ball. For a reliable and low-wear operation of the trained as a ball clutch vehicle coupling, it is necessary that the coupling socket rests with a certain play on the coupling ball. The hold-down has for this purpose an adjusting screw with a contact surface, through which the distance between the coupling ball and the contact surface can be adjusted continuously in a predeterminable range. In order to fix the setting of the adjusting screw for the operation, it is known to clamp a protruding part of the adjusting screw with a lock nut. By this construction, there is an increased space requirement, since it is necessary for the fixation with the lock nut, that the adjusting screw protrudes clearly from the rest of the hold-down. The disadvantage of this is that in the rear of a towing vehicle, the space is usually very limited, as often many different coupling options and connections are to be accommodated, and the internals in the rear should therefore be designed to save space. By the locknut, the height of the holddown is significantly increased. Furthermore, there is the problem with the lock nut that their fixing a high power requirement is necessary, and that in a careless tightening the lock nut, the adjustment of the adjusting screw can be adjusted. The object of the invention is therefore to provide a hold-down of the type mentioned, with which the mentioned disadvantages can be avoided, which is formed platzersparrend but still can be easily and reliably adjusted. It is provided that the hold-down device 1 has a clamping device 6 for clamping the adjusting screw 4 in the threaded bore 3, and that the clamping device 6 is arranged laterally of the threaded bore 3. The fixation of the adjusting screw 4 is therefore carried not by a lock nut directly on the adjusting screw 4, but by a lateral clamping of the adjusting screw 4 in the threaded hole 3.
