The invention relates to an assembly aid for the assembly of insertion elements in frame racks, in particular racks for use in information technology.
The invention further relates to the use of such an assembly aid.
By the term rack, in the context of the present invention and in accordance with the technical language, a rack for electrical appliances having a standard width of e.g. 19 inches, where the individual devices, i. the plug-in elements which can be mounted in the rack have a width corresponding to the standardized width of e.g. 19 inches. In height direction, a rack is divided into standardized height units, whereby the minimum height of an insert element to be mounted is determined. Insertion elements accordingly have a standardized height of one height unit or a multiple thereof. One height unit (HU) of a standard 19 inch rack has a height of 1.75 inches.
The insertion elements are fastened with their laterally projecting front plate on the rows of holes (square or round holes) perpendicular to the front of the frame extending metal bracket. The front plate is provided in its laterally projecting areas with holes which serve in a aligned with the row of holes of the sheet metal angle position of the inclusion of connecting means, in particular bolts. The sheet metal brackets can be about 2mm thick and are in the case of standardized 19 inch racks each 15.88mm wide and form between them an approximately 19 inches wide opening. There are three holes per unit of height at intervals of 0.655 inches each.
The assembly of insertion elements in frames is complex and usually designed difficult, since the insertion elements have a certain weight and a certain bulkiness. The assembly of insertion elements usually takes place at the front of the frame, ie where the provided with the row of holes perpendicular metal bracket are arranged. Since frames of the conventional type do not provide a support surface for placing the male member, the installer must manually move the male member into a position in which align the holes on the laterally projecting portions of the front panel with the holes of the row of holes of the sheet metal bracket, hold the male member in this position and install the connecting screws. In this case, the installer must either hold the insertion element itself in the correct position, so that only one free hand is available for fastening the insertion element, or the assembly must be carried out in pairs, wherein one of the parties must hold the insertion element in the correct mounting position and the others in parallel doing the assembly.
Alternatively, the assembly of insertion elements can also take place on the back of the frame also provided with a row of holes.
Due to the above-mentioned shortcomings, the assembly of insertion elements is time-consuming and associated with a high personnel costs.
The present invention therefore aims to provide an assembly aid with which the aforementioned disadvantages can be overcome.
To solve this problem, the invention provides an assembly aid which comprises at least two relatively adjustable, in particular pivotable leg, wherein the legs each have at their free ends an angled to the leg arranged fastener, wherein the fastening elements for securing the free ends of the legs directed towards each other, inwardly projecting and provided with a row of holes rails, in particular sheet metal angles of the frame are formed. The mounting aid according to the invention allows a tool-free, rapid installation of insertion elements in frames, which is to accomplish for a single person without considerable effort and time-saving.
Before assembly, the mounting aid will be in the desired position, i. immediately below the desired mounting height of the insertion element, inserted from the front into the rack. Subsequently, the legs are pivoted relative to each other until the arranged at the ends of the legs angled fasteners come to rest on the rails, in particular plate angles of the rack and can be fixed there in the sequence. The upper edge of the legs thus forms a bearing surface for the insertion element to be installed. The insertion element can be discontinued during assembly on the upper edge of the legs, so that the fitter no longer has to hold the insertion element for attachment to the rails, in particular sheet metal angles.
The mounting aid is in the attached state preferably only with said fasteners on

In order to form the mounting aid as rigid as possible, it is preferably provided that the legs are formed as a flat, plate-shaped legs. The plate-shaped legs preferably have a longitudinally extending reinforcing rib, whereby the flexural rigidity is increased.
However, the invention is not only suitable as an assembly aid for installation in provided with sheet metal angles frame racks. Alternatively, for example, the assembly of plug-in elements provided with a row of holes rails or metal profiles would be conceivable. Such sheet metal profiles may e.g. plastered into the wall and must therefore not be formed angular.
Preferably, the mounting aid is designed such that the legs between a contiguous storage position and a V-shaped unfolded mounting position are pivotable.
The adjacent storage position, i. that position in which the two legs lie flat against one another enables a space-saving stowage of the assembly aid in e.g. a toolbox. In turn, in the V-shaped unfolded mounting position, the mounting aid stretches a triangle, which ensures stable support of the insertion element.
Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the angled formed fastening element has a gap in which the provided with the row of holes rail of the frame is receivable. The weight of the legs exerts a tilting moment on the
Fastening elements, resulting in a suitable design to a wedging of the fasteners on the rail in the gap of the fasteners each recorded and self-locking, so that the mounting aid holds without further connecting elements on the rails. This effect is further enhanced when placing a male element.
Particularly preferably, the gap is formed by two parallel plates, so that the rails, in particular sheet metal angles of the rack are received between the two plates. The design with two plates delimiting the gap allows additional attachment of the fastening elements to the rails or sheet metal angles. According to a first preferred embodiment, it is provided for this purpose that the plates are held at an adjustable distance from each other and are clamped together by means of clamping means with clamping of the rail or the sheet metal angle. The adjustable distance of the plates allows a simple adaptation of the gap width to the manufacturer-dependent varying thickness of the rails, in particular sheet metal angle.
The adjustable distance also facilitates the clamping together of the plates under entrapment of the rails. When placing the mounting element in the rack, a slightly wider distance between the two plates is advantageous. The mounting element is already in the correct position, this is fixed, which means in the aforementioned case
Clamping means, which reduce the distance between the plates and thus cause pinching of the sheet metal angle happens.
Particularly preferred are the clamping means screws.
According to an alternative embodiment, it is preferably provided that a first of the two plates is rigidly connected to the respective leg and carries at least one, preferably two, through a hole of the row of holes plugable (s) connecting element (s), and that a second of the two plates behind the connecting element is inserted insertable.
The arranged on the first plate connecting elements are inserted at the desired height from the rear or front through the respective holes of the rail or the sheet metal angle of the rack. To fix the mounting aid, the second plate on the other side, i. while receiving the rail or the sheet metal angle between the two plates, positioned so that the connecting elements engage behind the second plate, whereby the connecting elements secured against coming out of the respective hole and the fasteners are thereby fixed relative to the rail or sheet metal angle. The connecting elements preferably have a projection for this purpose, e.g. a thickened end which engages behind the edge of an opening formed in the second plate.
Particularly preferably, the second plate is displaceably guided relative to the first plate, preferably at this, so that the second plate can be moved in a simple manner in the position in which the connecting elements engage behind the second plate. A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the legs are pivotable relative to each other about a pivot axis extending parallel to the longitudinal extent of the rails, in particular sheet metal angle.
Furthermore, it is preferably provided that the legs are connected directly by a joint having the pivot axis, so that the legs form a V-shape in the unfolded mounting position.
Alternatively, a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the mounting aid comprises three relatively pivotable legs, wherein only the outer two of the legs each have a fastening element at their free ends, wherein the three legs are arranged trough-shaped clamped.
A trough-like mounting of the mounting aid requires an effective and stable variant, just like a V-shaped clamping, in order to support the insert element to be installed.
A further preferred embodiment provides that the fastening elements on the legs of the mounting aid are outwardly against the rails, in particular sheet metal angle of the frame are spreadable, whereby a holding force is exerted, the attachment of the mounting aid without additional connecting means, such as. Alternatively, the legs of the mounting aid would also be conceivable in one piece with one another and made of spring steel, wherein the fastening elements are located at the two ends of the spring steel strip. Since spring steel requires a certain flexibility, no separate joint is required in this embodiment, since the adjustment, namely bending the spring steel strip causes a semi-circular shape of the mounting aid, whereby a similar support surface is provided for the insertion elements as in a design with two to a V -Form swiveling legs.
The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to embodiments shown schematically in the drawing. 2 shows a perspective view of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 in the storage position, FIG. 3 shows a perspective detail view of a first embodiment of the angled fastening element, FIG Fig. 5 is a perspective detail view of a second embodiment of the angled fastener, and Fig. 6 is a plan view of the second embodiment of the angled fastener shown in Fig. 5.
In Fig. 1, an assembly aid is designated 1. The mounting aid 1 comprises two relatively pivotable legs 2, which are connected by a pivot axis A exhibiting hinge 3 directly to each other. The legs 2 have at their free ends in each case an angled to the leg 2 arranged fastener 4, wherein the legs 2 are fixed to each other directed, inwardly projecting and provided with a row of holes sheet metal angles 5 of a frame.
Fig.l shows the mounting aid 1 in the V-shape about the pivot axis A of the hinge 3 folded apart mounting position. In this position, the upper edge 6 of the legs 2 forms a support surface for a male element to be installed (not shown in Fig.l). Furthermore, the legs 2 have longitudinally extending reinforcing ribs 7 in order to increase the flexural rigidity of the legs 2.
For fastening the mounting aid 1 to the sheet metal angles 5 of the frame, the sheet metal angles 5 are each received in an outwardly open gap 8 of the fasteners 4.
As can be seen from Fig.l the sheet metal angle 5 of the frame is provided with a row of holes.
In the state not fastened to the sheet metal angles 5 of the frame, the assembly aid 1 can be folded or unfolded in accordance with arrow 9 about the pivot axis A.
Fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the mounting member 1 shown in Fig.l in the folded storage position. The legs 2 are flat against each other and are not auseinanderverschwenkt. Only the angled arranged fasteners 4 at the end of the legs 2 are available.
In Figure 3 it is shown that the formed in the fastening element 4 gap 8 is formed by two parallel plates 10, 11. The plates 10, 11 are held at an adjustable distance B from each other and clamped by means of a clamping means 12 with the clamping of the sheet metal angle 5, not shown in Figure 3, or adapted to this.
The fastening element 4 engages the sheet metal bracket 5 of the frame, wherein the gap 8 receives the sheet metal angle 5. In order to fix the mounting member 1 in the correct position, the gap 8, the sheet metal angle 5 is placed surrounding and in such a way that the holes located in the plates 10, 11 cover the holes located in the perforated strip of the sheet metal angle 5 respectively. In order to reduce the distance between the plates 10,11 and so pinching the plate angle 5 between the plates 10, 11 to cause, the clamping means 12 is inserted through the hole 13 of the plate 11 and then into a formed on the first plate 10 threaded hole 13 screwed (Fig.4).
Figure 4. shows a plan view of the first embodiment of the angled fastener 4 shown in Figure 3.
The first, the gap 8 delimiting plate 14 is in this case rigidly connected to the leg 2 and has four bolts 16 and 19. Two bolts 16 are guided in slots 17 of the second plate 15 so that the second plate 15 is slidably guided relative to the first plate. In this case, these bolts 16 thickened ends 18, which define the maximum distance between the two plates 14,15 and the thickness of the gap 8. Two further bolts 19 also have thickened ends 18 which engage behind edges of open slots 20 in the displacement position of the second plate 15 shown in FIG.
