Siphon with separate chambers
The invention relates to a siphon with a siphon housing, with at least two inlet ports, which are each connected separately from the other inlet orifice with an odor trap insert, one on a, preferably lower, housing wall formed outlet and the insertable and removable in the interior of the siphon housing odor trap insert comprising an insert housing and a Kanalausgangsöffhung which is sealingly connectable with an outlet port inlet opening of the outlet.
Siphone known to those skilled in the art for the passage of small or fluctuating amounts of liquid, in particular condensation of air conditioners or dryers and waste water of washing machines, are problematic because of low or alternating flow rate and water flow rate per unit time. The self-cleaning of such Siphone, which is based on the fact that the flowing water entrains dirt particles, comes here not or only bad effect. A siphon, which usually flows through small amounts of liquid, must therefore be cleaned frequently and regularly to prevent clogging of the siphon. Frequently, several washing devices, in particular a tumble dryer and a washing machine, are connected to a siphon. This is usually achieved by means of a double connection, as illustrated by way of example in FIG. 7, which is connected at its one outlet (shown in the middle in FIG. 7) to the inlet of the siphon. The washing devices can then each be connected with their outlet at the respective inlet of the double connection (shown in each case at the edge in FIG. 7). The disadvantages with this solution are that an additional component, namely the double connection, has to be purchased and installed. This leads to increased space requirements and increased costs in terms of material and installation.
From the published patent application DE 3109384 Al a siphon is known with which it is attempted to solve the aforementioned disadvantages. The siphon consists of a housing box, which is walled into the wall, and a housing that can be detachably inserted into the housing box. In the housing two adjacent curved channels are formed, which each lead under a baffle forth, over a stowage wall away to a common bottom-side nozzle. Some of the channels are designed to fill with water, thereby forming an odor trap. An inlet nozzle is formed on the front side, another inlet nozzle takes on the ceiling water from a walled-in leakage line.
Another disadvantage of the known siphon results from the embodiment of the housing box and housing. Due to the fixed dimensions and fixing means, it is not possible to lower the siphon deeper in the wall than dictates the installation depth of the housing box. As a result, if necessary, the walled-in leakage line or the drain line must be laid, which in turn is associated with increased installation costs. However, if the housing box is inserted too deeply, plaster penetrates into the housing box and the housing can later only be used at considerable additional expenditure and additional costs.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome the disadvantages of the known Siphone for connecting multiple devices in the sanitary sector, in particular washing equipment such as tumble dryer or washing machine.
The present invention achieves this object according to the invention in that the odor trap insert has separate chambers, wherein in each chamber in liquid-tight manner, a curved channel, in particular a channel with at least one U-shaped section, which is arranged substantially parallel to a cover of the insert housing and is formed via a common channel section in the channel outlet opening, is formed, and that an insert housing body has the at least two inlet stubs, each of which opens separately from the one or more inlet stub in each case a channel inlet opening.
The siphon according to the invention is designed in an advantageous embodiment as a wall siphon for vertical installation. A cover plate, which can be placed on a front side of the siphon housing, ensures a shapely conclusion, since its circumference is greater than the circumference of the front of the siphon housing. This way, the siphon can be walled up in an aesthetic way, and because no additional double connection is necessary, the washing devices can be connected directly to the siphon to save space.
In order to be able to variably adapt the siphon according to the invention to the installation depth in the wall, the latter advantageously has a cut-to-length building protection attachment which can be plugged or removed by snap-fastening onto the front side of the siphon housing. Here, the side surfaces of the Bauschutzaufsatzes aligned with the side walls of the siphon housing to ensure a complication-free plugging or removing the Bauschutzaufsatzes.
As an alternative to the wall-mounted siphon, the siphon can also be designed as a surface-mounted siphon by configuring the siphon housing as a surface-mounted housing.
The inlet port and the outlet port of the siphon according to the invention advantageously each have such diameters that they can be connected to pipelines having an outer diameter of between six and fifty millimeters, whereby all common washing and sanitary appliances can be connected.
The use case of the odor trap insert of the siphon according to the invention comprises an insert housing body and a lid, which is connected in a sealing manner with the insert housing body. In a presently preferred embodiment, which guarantees absolute tightness, the insert housing body and the lid are integrally connected, e.g. welded or glued together. Alternatively, the lid may be configured as a lid detachable from the insert body. This provides the advantage that the interior of the odor trap insert, in particular the curved channel, is very easy and quick to clean.
In an advantageous embodiment of the siphon according to the invention, the channel outlet opening of the odor trap insert is pluggable connectable with the Auslassstutzeneingangsöffhung the outlet nozzle, whereby a quick and easy removal of the odor trap insert is guaranteed for maintenance or cleaning purposes. Seals, in particular annular elastomer seals or annular thermoplastic elastomer seals, which are provided between the channel outlet opening and the outlet nozzle inlet opening, ensure a corresponding tightness of the connection.
The odor trap insert is attached in an advantageous embodiment of the invention only by means of fixing means, in particular screws, clamps or snap connections, to a housing wall of the siphon housing. As a result, on the one hand a quick and easy removal and installation and on the other hand a fail-safe fixation of the odor trap insert guaranteed.
In a further advantageous embodiment, a siphon according to the invention further comprises a structural protection plug, which can be inserted or removed into the outlet connection input opening, wherein the outer diameter of the construction protection plug is substantially form-fitting with the inner diameter of the outlet connection. This prevents ingress of dirt into the outlet port during installation of the siphon of downstream work. The protection plug also prevents the escape of duct gases from the outlet.
In a further advantageous embodiment, siphon housing and odor trap insert are integrally formed, whereby no single odor trap insert must be made. The siphon according to the invention is thus particularly inexpensive to produce.
In a further advantageous embodiment, a siphon according to the invention further comprises sealing balls. These sealing balls, which are mounted movably in the upper region of the separate chambers, seal off the channel inlet openings in the event of a backlog in the separate chamber. As a result, the advantage is obtained that it can not come during a backlog to the ingress of liquid media in the inlet nozzle.
Further advantageous, non-limiting embodiments of the siphon according to the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. Similar or identical elements are provided with the same reference numerals.

Fig. 7 shows in a view from above a cross section of a double connection for connection of several washing devices according to the prior art.
FIG. 1 shows a siphon 10 according to the invention with separate chambers 4 according to a first exemplary embodiment. The siphon 10 essentially comprises a siphon housing 1, an odor trap insert 6, a cut-to-length building protection attachment 5 and a cover plate 8.
On the lower housing wall 1U of the siphon housing 1, an outlet 2 is formed. Furthermore, the siphon housing 1 has side walls IS, a rear housing wall 1H, a front side IV, which is open in the present first exemplary embodiment, and a snap fastening 5A. At the snap attachment 5A, the cut-to-length building protection attachment 5 can be plugged or removed by means of openings 5B.
The odor trap insert 6 has an insert housing body 6V and a lid 6H. The lid 6H is sealingly connected to the insert case body 6V, for example, the lid 6H is detachably formed, and is fixed to the insert case body 6V by means of fitting, snapping, etc. In an alternative embodiment, the lid 6H and the insert housing body 6V are integrally connected to each other. The odor trap insert 6 is fixed by means of fixing means 7, in the present first embodiment this is a screw, but clamps or snap connections can also be used, fixed to the rear housing wall 1H (or another housing wall) of the siphon housing 1. As a result, the lid 6H and the insert case body 6V are also pressed together so as to ensure sufficient tightness and to prevent inadvertent opening of the odor trap insert 6 if the lid 6H is removably flared. At its front, the odor trap insert 6 has two inlet ports 3. The two inlet ports 3 are each connected to the odor trap insert 6 separately from each other at an inlet port outlet 3A (shown in FIG. 2A). On its underside, the odor trap insert 6 has a, advantageously circular, Kanalausgangsöffhung 6A. On the outside of this channel outlet opening 6A annular sealing gaskets 14, such as elastomer seals, are attached. These may be incorporated in grooves formed on the outside of the Kanalausgangsöffhung 6A.
In a further embodiment, the odor trap insert 6 can have more than two inlet stubs 3. Likewise, the odor trap insert 6 at its Kanalausgangsöffhung 6A another form of the seal, for example a press fit have.
The ablängbare Bauschutzaufsatz 5 has side surfaces 5 S, which are aligned with the side walls IS of the siphon housing 1. The ablängbare Bauschutzaufsatz 5 is attached by means of the openings 5B on the snap fastener 5A, and can also be removed again accordingly. If the siphon 10 is designed as a wall siphon for vertical installation as in the present first embodiment, the cutaway Bauschutzaufsatz 5 is cut to length when installing the wall siphon so that the front side IV of the wall siphon wall after installation with a surface of a building wall.
The cover plate 8 is attached as a visible conclusion about the open front side IV of the siphon housing 1 to the siphon housing 1 or to the cut-to-length protection attachment 5. In this case, the circumference of the cover plate 8 is greater than the circumference of the front side IV of the siphon housing 1 or the cut-to-length protection cover 5, so that the cover plate 8 forms a shapely conclusion. The cover plate can for example be attached to the siphon 10 via screw rings 16 (shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B) or other holding means.
In an alternative embodiment, the siphon housing 1 can be configured as a surface-mounted housing.
Figures 2A and 2B and 3A, 3B and 3C show in different views and sections of the odor trap insert 6 according to the first embodiment of the invention. The odor trap insert 6 has two separate chambers 4. In every
Chamber 4 is a curved channel 4K arranged, which is sealed with respect to liquid media with or without solids. In this case, each curved channel 4K is arranged substantially parallel to the lid 6H of the odor trap insert 6 and has a U-shaped section 15 (marked in FIG. 2B essentially in each case as a dot-dashed area). "Substantially parallel" refers to the flow directions in the channel, ie the respective directions in which the liquid medium flows along the curved channel 4K, which run parallel to the lid 6H of the odor trap insert 6. The two directions of flow of the respective curved channels 4K are indicated in FIG. 2B with solid lines and arrows. These flow directions lie in FIG. 2B in a plane which is parallel to the plane of the drawing or coincides with it. The cover 6H, which is not shown in FIG. 2B, would also lie parallel to this drawing plane in its state connected to the insert housing body 6V.
Liquid medium, in particular waste water of a washing device with or without solid content, for example chemical or biological additives and residues, passes through the inlet port 3 and the inlet port outlet 3A of the inlet nozzle 3 through a channel inlet opening 6E in the curved channel 4K of the chamber 4 of the odor trap insert 6. Die Both curved channels 4K are merged in their last section, after their respective U-shaped section 15, into a common channel section 9 (marked in FIG. 2B essentially as a dashed zone). Via this common channel section 9, the liquid medium enters the channel outlet opening 6A and from there via an outlet connection inlet opening 2E into the outlet connection 2.
Due to the U-shaped portion 15 of the curved channel 4K is located in the curved channel 4K always standing liquid medium. This ensures the odor trap. This liquid medium is displaced during each washing or rinsing process by newly entering liquid medium and thus replaced continuously. The separate chambers 4 prevent a possible transfer of liquid medium from one curved channel 4K into the other curved channel 4K.
FIG. 6A shows an alternative exemplary embodiment of a siphon 20 according to the invention. The odor trap insert and the siphon housing 200 are formed in one piece. This means that the two inlet ports 3 lead directly into the siphon housing 200. The siphon housing 200 has the two separate chambers 4 with the curved channels 4K, which lead directly into the formed on the siphon housing 200 outlet 2. The siphon housing 200 is open at its rear side 200H and has a rear cover 600H thereon, with which it is sealed in a sealing manner. The siphon housing 200 can be firmly or push-on and removably closed with the rear cover 600H.
FIG. 6B shows a further alternative exemplary embodiment of a siphon 30 according to the invention. The odor trap insert and the siphon housing 300 are formed in one piece. The siphon housing 300 has a rear housing wall 300H, and is sealed in a sealing manner on its front side 300V with a front cover 600V on which the two inlet sockets 3 are integrally formed. The siphon housing 300 can be firmly or push-on and removably closed with the front cover 600V.
FIG. 3C shows an optional sealing ball 12, which can be introduced in each case in the upper region of the separate chambers 4. This sealing ball 12 is movably mounted. During a possible backflow in the separate chamber 4, the sealing ball 12 is pressed by the nachdrückende from below liquid medium to the Kanaleingangsöffhung 6E and closes them in a liquid-tight manner. As a result, a possible entry of liquid medium into one of the inlet connection 3 can be prevented in each case. It should be noted here that the application of one or more such sealing balls 12 is not necessary for a erfindungemäße functionality of the siphon 10.
FIGS. 4A and 4B and 4C show, in different views and along the section F-F, the siphon housing 1, including the plugged-on abridgeable protective construction attachment 5, according to the first exemplary embodiment of the invention. FIG. 4C shows an optional protective plug 11. This protective plug 11 can be introduced into the outlet nozzle inlet opening 2E before the insertion of the odor trap insert 6. In this case, the structural protection plug 11 can simply be inserted or removed into the outlet connection inlet opening 2E, wherein the outer diameter of the construction protection plug 11 is formed essentially in a form-fitting manner with the inner diameter of the outlet connection 2. This can prevent it during any construction that is performed during or after the insertion of the siphon housing 1 in the building wall, or before the onset of the odor trap insert 6, comes to the ingress of dirt into the outlet. The protective plug 11 also prevents the escape of duct gases from the outlet.
Figures 5 A and 5B show respectively in front view and along the section A-A the functional siphon 10, including two pipes 13 for connecting two laundry treatment equipment, in particular a clothes dryer and a washing machine, according to the first embodiment of the invention. The cover plate 8 of the siphon 10, which is designed according to the present first embodiment as a wall siphon for at least two connections of washing equipment, is usually on the surface of the building wall, in which the siphon is installed. Alternatively, the siphon housing can be designed as a surface-mounted housing.
It may be mentioned that the siphon 10, 20 or 30 according to the invention can also be designed for the connection of sewers of wash basins, or for the drainage of air conditioners or duct coolers.
It can further be mentioned that the siphon 10, 20 or 30 according to the invention can also be designed for horizontal installation, for example as a floor siphon. The inventive siphon 10, 20 or 30 may also be exposed, so not installed, for example, in connection with a sink or other fitting for shower, tub, bath, vanity or kitchen, trained.
