The invention relates to a toilet seat with a pair of glasses and with a lid, said plastic parts made of seat parts are connected to each other via a hinge.
The spectacles and lids of toilet seats are usually made in large numbers of plastic by injection molding. The injection molding process produces smooth surfaces, but these surfaces are not sufficiently abrasion resistant, so that the surfaces of these seat parts lose their shine and are roughened by repeated cleaning, which not only makes these seat parts unsightly, but also makes their cleaning increasingly difficult.
The invention is therefore based on the object, a toilet seat of the type described with simple structural means in such a way that the seat parts have a substantially abrasion resistant surface or a surface in the abrasion, the external appearance hardly changes.
Starting from a toilet seat of the kind described above, the invention solves the stated object in that at least one of the two seat parts comprises a shell made of acrylic glass, which forms a hollow body filled with plastic and is joined cohesively from a bottom plate and a deep-drawn shell profile.

Glasses and the lid of a toilet seat are used. The prerequisite is, however, that the thin-walled trays made of acrylic glass can be manufactured dimensionally stable without risk of distortion. This is ensured by the construction of the shells of a bottom plate and a deep-drawn shell profile, which is materially connected to the bottom profile. Through the deep-drawing of cast acrylic glass sheets dimensionally stable shell profiles are obtained, which can be joined with a flat bottom plate made of acrylic glass to a distortion-free hollow body. The plastic filling the hollow shell body increases the strength of the manufactured from the shell bodies seat parts and forms corresponding bearing body for fixing the hinges between the seat parts.
To increase the dimensional stability and the bottom plate may have a deep-drawn profile, which comes in particular for the lid because of its relation to the glasses larger base in question. By a concave curvature of the soil profile also the cavity of the shell made of acrylic glass can be reduced, so not only saved plastic to fill the hollow shell, but also the weight of the lid or the glasses can be reduced with the consequent lower filling volume.
Particularly advantageous construction conditions arise when the deep-drawn shell profile surrounds the peripheral end face or the peripheral end faces of the bottom plate, because in this case joints between the deep-drawn shell profile and the bottom plate can be avoided on the outside of the respective seat part. The cohesive connection between the deep-drawn shell profile and the base plate flush inserted in this shell profile can be done with the aid of an acrylic resin, which can be colored according to the bottom plate and covers the bottom end face of the deep-drawn shell profile, so that after grinding a uniform to the outer surface of the deep-drawn shell profile continuous floor surface is achieved. 3/9 3
The plastic filling of the hollow shells of the seat parts can be different and, for example, consist of a plastic filling in the form of a rigid polyurethane-based foam. Another possibility arises when the shell has a plastic filling based on bonded polyester fibers. In both cases, a high strength of the seat parts and a secure anchoring of the hinges between the seat parts in the plastic filling can be ensured.

Both the lid shown in FIG. 1 and the spectacles according to FIG. 2 of a toilet lid according to the invention form a composite body of a hollow shell 1 of acrylic glass and of a plastic filling 2, which fills the cavity of this shell 1. The shell 1 of these seat parts is in each case composed of a deep-drawn shell profile 3 and a bottom plate 4, wherein the bottom plate 4 is flush inserted into the bottom opening of the shell profile 3 and connected to the shell profile 3, preferably by means of an acrylic resin cohesively.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the base plate 4 is preferably inserted into the deep-drawn shell profile 3 in such a way that a slight projection of the base profile 4 over the bottom-side end face of the shell profile 3 is provided.
