The invention relates to a single farrowing pen.
In farrowing pens a distinction is made between free farrowing pens and farrowing pens with caste stand. The crates are usually metal cages to fix the structure before, during and after birth, in free farrowing pens, there is usually no fixation that hinders the sows when lying down, getting up or turning at birth.
A disadvantage of known free farrowing pens, however, is that they are associated with an increased risk that piglets are crushed by the sow.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to overcome the disadvantages of known free farrowing pens.
This Aufjgabe is solved with a farrowing pen of the type mentioned in the present invention that they have a piglet nest for the piglets, as well as a Uegebereich and a feeding area for a sow wob «the lying area and the feeding area are spatially separated from each other and not for farrowing or suckling Piglets provided feeding area can be left immediately laterally by an openable and resealable barrier. In this document, a piglet test is understood to mean a separation of piglets' housing areas separated by a separation which can not be overcome by the sow, the separation, however, having hatching for the piglets or being arranged so that the piglets can pass through under the separation.
The sow can be closed by closing the barrier between the area used for farrowing and suckling and the feeding area during the N2012 / 13000 14/08/2012 14:44

Temporarily fix the food in the feeding area. Due to the spatial separation of the individual areas and the lockability of the frees area, the safety of the piglets can be significantly increased. Thus, the piglets can safely retire into the piglet nest while the sow is in the feeding area, thus minimizing the risk of piglet backfires when the sow returns to the working area. Also, the sow in the feeding area - similar to a crate - can be fixed at short notice.
According to an advantageous variant of the invention, the height extension of the barrier between the feeding area and the area of coverage runs essentially perpendicular to a floor of the Abfericel bay. By the vertical arrangement of the barrier can be on the one hand to ensure optimal use of space and in a simple way the creation of an insurmountable obstacle for the sow.
A fixation of the sow in the feeding area can be achieved in a simple manner in that the barrier has at least one vemegeibare door. By pressing a Verriegefungsmechanismus the sow can thereby temporarily hold during feeding in the feeding area.
In order to prevent the entry of piglets from the lying area into the feeding area of the sow, the barrier in the region of an opening of the at least one adjustable door may have a carbon.
A narrow feeding area and thus optimum space utilization and a good fixation of the sow in the feeding area can be achieved by the barrier has two doors, with a door to enter and the other door is provided for leaving the feeding area by the sow
According to a further advantageous variant of the invention, it may be provided that the barrier between the feeding and lying area at least one, preferably closes with a flap opening which it mistakenly in "12012113000 14/08/2012 14:45

As an additional measure against crushing the piglets, at least one curved, preferably elliptical deflector bar or at least one deflector board for protecting the piglets from earth crushing can be arranged through the sow in the lying area between two opposite side walls delimiting the barrier.
As already mentioned above, the lying area and the piglet nest are advantageously separated from each other by a barrier. Here, the barrier between piglet nest and lying area can form a side wall of the lying area.
In order to make it possible to drain off excrements into a trough running underneath, a floor of the lying area can be perforated at least in sections or at least partially enclosed by perforated elements.
The invention together with further advantages will be explained in more detail below with reference to a few exemplary embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows a schematic highly simplified representation of a plan view of two farrowing pens according to the invention.

Change of position to the new situation. Furthermore, individual features or combinations of features from the different exemplary embodiments shown and described can also represent independent, inventive or inventive solutions. All statements on ranges of values in the description of the present invention should be understood to include any and all sub-ranges thereof, e.g. the indication 1 to 10 should be understood to include all sub-ranges, starting from the lower limit 1 and the upper limit 10, i. all subregions begin with a lower limit of 1 or greater and end at an upper limit of 10 or less, e.g. 1 to 1.7, or 3.2 to 8.1 or 5.5 to 10.
In Fig. 1, two interconnected Abferkeibuchten 1a, 1b are shown. However, the following remarks refer to the farrowing pen 1 a for reasons of easier readability. However, the statements apply mutatis mutandis to the farrowing bay 1b.
According to FIG. 1, the free turnaround bay 1a has a piglet nest 1 for piglets as well as a lying area 2, 3 and a feeding area 4 for a sow. The piglet nest 1, the lying area 2,3 and the feeding area 4 are spatially separated from each other. The feeding area 4 of the sow, which is not intended for the farrowing or nursing of piglets, is separated from its resting area 2, 3 by at least one openable and recloseable barrier 16. Preferably, the feeding area is so narrow that it is not possible to lie down the sow. For example, the feeding area can have a width of 50 cm.
The piglet nest 1 is separated from the area 2 by a partition that can leave below a gap of such a small height that the piglets can still get into their piglet nest 1, but the mother sow in this compartment access is veiwehrt. The piglets come to the lying area only to suck and return, then in their piglet nest 1, where they are safe from danger of being crushed by the heavy mother sow.

The Uegebereich 2.3 may be surrounded by side walls 13, which may be formed as a closed walls. Also, the feeding area 4 may be limited at its narrow sides of this side wall 13. The walls 14 of the piglet nest 1 adjoining the dividing wall to the working area may be formed lower than the dividing wall or the side winds 13 of the farrowing pen 1 a. Thus, the partition wall or the side walls 13, for example, have a height of 110 at, while the walls 14 may for example have a height of 50 cm.
It should be noted at this point that all side walls of the farrowing box can be designed as closed walls. In the area in which the two farrowing pens 1a, 1b adjoin one another, however, a dividing wall 15 is provided, which can preferably be formed from bars and / or a transparent material. The two farrowing pens 1a, 1b can also be made as a single module.
The bottom of the farrowing pen 1a can be subdivided into two areas, wherein a first area can be designed as a continuous closed base and a second area can have slots, in FIG. 1 the region of the lying area, which has a perforated bottom, is provided with the reference number 2 , The region of the lying area, which, however, has a closed bottom is indicated by the reference numeral 3. The second area may be formed, for example, by means of perforated elements to allow excrements to drain. In the illustrated embodiment, a potion 10 is located in the section with the perforated bottom.
The barrier 16, which may be formed as a vertically arranged wall, for example, with a height of 80 cm, may have two doors 6,7. The doors 6 and 7 both go out from the feeding area 4 outwardly toward the lying area 2,3. The door 7 serves as an access for the feeding area 4 and the door 6 for leaving the feeding area 4. At a front side of the feeding area 4, a feeding trough 5 is arranged. N201Z / 13000 14/08/2012 14:47

Furthermore, it can be provided that at least the TQr 6 can be locked, so that the sow can be held in the feeding area 4. However, it may also be provided that the TQr 7 is also lockable. Compared with the TQr 7, a grid wall 11 may be provided.
The barrier 16 may have lower thresholds at least in the area of the openings of the doors 6 and 7, which prevent the entry of piglets into the feeding area 4. The thresholds may for example have a height of 30 cm.
In order to enable piglets, which despite all have entered the feeding area 4, to return to the reach area 2, 3, a corresponding opening 12 can be provided in the barrier 16. In the area of the opening 12 no threshold is provided. The opening 12 may advantageously be provided with a flap which, when viewed from the feeding area 4, pivots outward in the direction of the lying area 2, 3 and which may be fastened to the upper edge of the opening 12.
As an additional safety measure, at least one curved, preferably elliptical deflector bar 9 for protecting the piglets against earth backs can be arranged in the lying area 2 3 between two opposite side walls delimiting the barrier. In this case, the deflector bar 9 is raised from the bottom of the farrowing pen 1 a so that the piglets can move underneath. Instead of the Abweisbügels 9 may also be provided a deflecting board.
Through an access door 8, a person can enter the farrowing pen.
Finally, it should be pointed out that the exemplary embodiments relate to possible embodiments of the farrowing pen according to the invention, wherein it should be noted at this point that the invention is not limited to the specifically illustrated embodiment thereof, but rather also all other embodiments not shown and described, which covered by the wording of the independent claim fall within the scope of protection. 14/08/2012 14:48
