From AT 509 238 B of the present patent application, such a device is known, which is used as a continuous tunnel for cleaning workpieces, for example in the automotive industry. The workpieces-for example, cylinder heads of internal combustion engines-are introduced into such a cleaning chamber and sprayed with a cleaning medium. Typically, this is a liquid cleaning medium, but dry cleaning based on compressed air is also in use. From their function, the known devices are excellently suited to clean workpieces, however, the production is relatively expensive because the cleaning chamber must always be adapted to the dimensions of the relevant workpiece. In addition, the cleaning and maintenance of the device is expensive, so that there is room for improvement.
Object of the present invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to provide a device for cleaning workpieces, which is easy and inexpensive to produce and requires low maintenance costs.
According to the invention it is provided that the front wall, rear wall, inlet wall, outlet wall and the top wall are modularly formed as light metal · fittings. Due to the formation of the invention, on the one hand, a very smooth and slightly rugged inner surface of the cleaning chamber can be represented, which greatly simplifies cleaning and maintenance. On the other hand, however, a cost-effective production can be achieved by an intelligent identical part concept.
In particular, it is provided that the front wall, the rear wall, the inlet wall, the outlet wall and the top wall are designed as a kit with 2 different standard dimensions. It is particularly favorable in this context if the front wall, the rear wall, the inlet wall, the outlet wall and the top wall are designed as a kit with different standard dimensions. The Alimony concept is thereby realized in such a way that, for example, three standard lengths, three standard widths and three standard heights are provided for the chamber. Overall, this results in 27 different configurations for the cleaning chamber. For example, in realizing an identical part concept in the above sense, the front wall can be provided for any combination of the three standard lengths and three standard heights, that is, with a kit of 9 total front panels, a total of 27 different models of the apparatus can be constructed. The same applies to the other walls. Standardized attachment points such as screw holes ensure that the adjacent walls can be easily connected together.
Another essential aspect of the invention is that a lowering mechanism is provided for the nozzle, which is provided substantially above the top wall and is connected to the nozzle via a lifting element which penetrates the top wall. Due to the fact that as many components as possible are laid from the inside of the device to the outside, the cleaning and maintenance is greatly simplified. An improvement is achieved by limiting the conveying means provided by the front wall, the rear wall, the inlet wall and the outlet wall completely downwards completely through an area of the base. In conventional devices, it is often the case that connect at the lower edge of the front wall and the rear wall oblique surfaces which fall to a conveyor, which is arranged in the region of the base and whose width is significantly smaller than the width of the cleaning chamber. These sloping surfaces are contaminated during the cleaning with chips and dripping cleaning media and are responsible for an increased maintenance costs. The above solution can avoid this problem.
A further advantageous embodiment of the present invention provides that, connections and distribution lines for supplying the nozzle are mounted substantially above the top wall and are connected by a connecting wall penetrating the top wall 3 with this. This also contributes in the above sense to simplify the structure of the interior.
