The invention relates to a device for cleaning a link chain of a chain conveyor, with a housing through which a lower chain center of the link chain can be guided.
Chain conveyors are typically used to chain production facilities to move components from one machine component to the next. The link chains of such chain conveyors are often exposed to contamination, which are registered by oil, chips or other substance from the components. These contaminants can contaminate other components, which can lead to disruptions in production.
Conventional cleaners clean the top of the link chain, but this can cause dirt and contaminants to accumulate on the bottom and eventually cause problems
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages mentioned and to allow the simplest possible way efficient cleaning of the link chains.
According to the invention this is achieved in that in the housing a cleaning tub is provided with an inlet opening and an outlet opening for the lower chain center, in which Reiniaunaswanne on the one hand a means for the use of cleaning medium and on the other hand blowing nozzles are provided for drying the link chain.
By means of the device according to the invention, efficient cleaning of link chains can be carried out without noticeably increasing the structural complexity. The cleaning tub is typically closed at the top and thus forms a substantially closed box within which the cleaning takes place. Essential to the invention is that not only the top of the link chain but the link chain is cleaned by the cleaning device according to the invention as a whole, so that any dirt and any foreign matter can be safely removed from the link chain. It is also essential that a combination of wet cleaning and subsequent drying takes place, which not only causes the drying of the link chain ΙϋβΙΙ füil2 ΙΗΙβΙΙΙ by the blow-off, but also any adhering foreign body can be safely removed.
A first particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the cleaning medium is sprayed by spray nozzles on the link chain.
More preferably, these spray nozzles are directed in different directions onto the link chain, i. that the axes of the individual spray nozzles are not parallel to each other, but are aligned at significantly different angles. This allows a particularly efficient cleaning can be achieved. Even with the blowing nozzles for drying and dry cleaning a different orientation is useful and advantageous.
It is further particularly preferred if the spray nozzles are provided above a drip tray for a cleaning medium. If necessary, this collecting trough can also be designed as a lower sealed section of the cleaning trough.
An alternative embodiment of the present invention provides that the cleaning medium is accommodated in a dip tank, through which the link chain is guided. The cleaning takes place by passing the link chain through the dip tank.
Connect variants with each other by either successively cleaning nozzles and immersion trough are provided, or even by cleaning nozzles are provided for improved cleaning in a dip tank.
A further improvement of the cleaning performance can be achieved by providing cleaning brushes in the region of the means for the application of cleaning medium, which brushes act on the link chain and in that the cleaning brushes are preferably designed to be rotating. In this way, a mechanical cleaning is achieved in addition.
In a further preferred embodiment, deflecting devices for the link chain can be provided in the housing, wherein the means for the application of cleaning medium is arranged at least partially in the region of these deflecting devices. This will cause the [10 2012/50184

Contamination of the drying section with cleaning medium can be prevented by providing a structural separation between a wet cleaning section and the drying section in the housing.
A particularly favorable integration of the device according to the invention in existing production facilities can be achieved in that the housing is designed to be suspended below a conveyor line.

In Fig. 1, a first embodiment of the device according to the invention is shown schematically, namely a device for cleaning a link chain 1 with an upper chain 2 and a lower chain 3, wherein the upper chain 2 is designed to transport the workpieces. The lower chain 3 is offset by pulleys 4 below and is guided by the housing 5 of the device according to the invention. The link chain 1 enters through an inlet opening 6 in the housing 5 and leaves it via an outlet opening 7. The lower portion of the housing 5 is formed as a cleaning trough 8. In this cleaning tub 8 spray nozzles 9 are provided, which are a cleaning medium on all sides, i. especially from above and from below on the link chain 1 spray. Furthermore, 11 rotating brushes 10 are pressed onto the link chain 1 via springs, which develop a mechanical cleaning effect.
Downstream of the cleaning nozzles 9 and brush 10 blowing nozzles 12 are directed to dry the link chain 1 on this. These nozzles are arranged both on the top and on the underside of the link chain 1.
A motor 13 arranged outside the housing drives a pump 14, which brings the cleaning medium to a pressure required for the spray nozzles 9. Preferably, a medium is used as the cleaning medium, which is already required in the respective production process, so that no additional infrastructure for the supply of cleaning medium is required. A suction with liquid separation, not shown, serves to remove the exiting from the nozzles 12 air.
The embodiment variant of FIG. 2 differs from that of FIG. 1 in that the link chain 1 is guided via inner deflection rollers 15 through an immersion trough 16, which is provided in the lower region of the housing 5.
By immersing the link chain 1 in the cleaning medium located in the dip pan 16, a particularly efficient cleaning can be achieved. The rotating brushes 10 still remove any adhering foreign bodies. It is alternatively also possible in an embodiment variant, not shown, to provide the brushes 10 partially or completely inside the immersion trough 16.
In Fia. FIGS. 3 and 4 schematically show a short section of a link chain 1_. The individual chain links 17a, 17b, 17c are pivotable about axes 18 against each other and have a top 19 for receiving workpieces, not shown, and a bottom 20 with the corresponding hinge mechanisms.
The invention makes it possible to efficiently and easily clean link chains of chain conveyors.

A device for cleaning a link chain (1) of a chain conveyor, comprising a housing (5) through which a lower chain center (3) of the link chain (1) can be guided, characterized in that in the housing (5) a cleaning trough (8 ) is provided with an inlet opening (6) for and an outlet opening (7) for the lower chain center (3), in which cleaning trough (8) on the one hand a means for using cleaning medium and on the other hand blowing nozzles (12) for drying the link chain (1) are provided.
