The invention relates to a device for the purification of bulk material, with a tub floatable with washing liquid and with a rotatable drum arranged in the tub having a substantially horizontal axis, wherein the drum has a bottom, a peripheral surface and a lid opposite the bottom, and at least the peripheral surface has a plurality of openings.
Cleanliness and hygiene are always subject to increasing demands. In this way, the risk of spreading diseases can be effectively reduced. In some areas, however, maintaining hygiene is a difficult and laborious process. For example, the cleaning of plastic building blocks for children in institutional facilities such as kindergartens, hospitals or homes for integration is becoming an increasing problem. Currently, the cleaning is done primarily by hand, which is laborious on the one hand, on the other hand, but also brings problems in the safe maintenance of quality standards. A secured disinfection standard can not be achieved by manual cleaning.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device with which small objects, which are generally in the form of bulk material, can be effectively cleaned. It is intended in particular to plastic bricks, as they are called as "Lego®". Building blocks are available on the market. The cleaning on the one hand should be done gently so as not to damage the blocks and on the other hand to ensure a sufficient cleaning effect. It should take special consideration of the nature of the items to be cleaned and a simple and safe handling can be ensured.
According to the invention, it is provided that the drum has a first bearing point on the bottom and a second bearing point on the cover and that two bearings are provided in the trough, which detachably receive the bearing points, so that the drum can be removed. Similar to a conventional washing machine, the drum is provided with a plurality of apertures, which are, however, typically smaller than in a conventional washing machine, in order to allow the passage of the smallest components of the bulk material prevent.
It is an essential aspect of the present invention that the drum, which is formed as a storage container, can be easily removed from the device and inserted into the device. Due to the opposite bearing points of the drum a safe and for the structure of the drum little stressful suspension is achieved. In the sense of using the drum as a storage place for toys or the like, it is also essential that the opening of the drum is located on the front side and not on the circumference.
Preferably, a fixed bearing and a bearing movable in the axial direction are provided in the tub. A solid bearing is one which either has no moving parts at all or at most has passively resilient parts. The axially movable bearing has an active member movable in the direction of the axis of the drum, which is adapted to engage in a bearing of the drum to hold them and optionally apply a torque for the rotation of the drum thereon. Particularly preferably, this movable bearing is provided with a thread which engages in a correspondingly adapted thread of the bearing of the drum, whereby a particularly secure and firm connection is made. Alternative shapes, such as oval or polygonal engagement geometries are possible. A magnetic torque transmission can also be provided.
A particularly favorable embodiment of the present invention provides that the axially movable bearing has an axially movable Boizen, which is connected to a drive motor and on which a means for transmitting torque to the drum is provided. The bolt can be pressed for example by an electromagnet against the drum and by the rotation of the drive motor screwed if necessary, a thread in a threaded bore of the bearing of the drum. But it is also possible that the bolt has a different type of engagement element to transmit the torque to the drum. «Ιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιιι
The handling of the device according to the invention is particularly facilitated by the fact that belts are provided in the tub, which are in communication with a lid of the machine to lift the drum when opening the lid. The straps are firmly attached on one side to the upper edge of the tub, loop around the drum at its periphery below and are on the opposite side led back up and connected to the lid. Now, when the lid is opened, the straps are pulled up and the drum is lifted out of the tub. Depending on the location of the straps, the height to which the drum is raised can be adjusted. In order to allow the lid to open easily and without effort, coil springs or gas springs are provided, which support the opening movement.
A further preferred variant of the present invention is embodied such that on the inner circumference of the drum a plurality of scoop-like projections protrude inwards, which have a region concave in the circumferential direction. It is known that drums of washing machines on the inner circumference of the drum have small projections to take the laundry inside the drum during rotation. It has now been found out that such known protrusions are only insufficiently suitable for cleaning, for example, plastic building blocks. This may be due to the fact that bulk material of this type has a lower density than water, and accordingly floats inside the drum. Due to the concave area, the individual parts are now taken much more efficiently during the rotation of the drum and kept under water for a longer period of time, which brings about a corresponding improvement in the cleaning effect.
In this context, it is particularly favorable when between three and six blade-like projections are provided, which are circular-arc-shaped in cross-section and preferably have a radial extension which is between 10% and 40% of the diameter of the drum. In this way, a particularly high cleaning effect can be achieved.
Furthermore, it is of particular advantage if facilities are provided for blowing in air in the tub. The cause of the surprising effect of the injection of air during the washing process is not yet fully understood, but on the one hand in the resulting increased water movement, but on the other hand also in the fact that the effective density of the washing liquid is reduced by the injection of air ,
The practicability of the device according to the invention is particularly increased by the fact that the drum is designed as a storage container for the bulk material. In this way it is possible to equip a device, for example with several drums, which on the one hand serve as a storage container and can be used as needed without any further manipulation in the device. It is particularly practical if an end wall of the drum is designed as a removable lid.
Another particularly favorable embodiment of the invention is designed such that the drum has at least one partition in the interior, which divides the drum into several sections. It is particularly advantageous if the partition has further openings. In this way, the components to be cleaned can be stored sorted in the drum, but at the same time it is ensured that the components are alternately immersed in the washing medium and lifted out of the washing medium.
Furthermore, it has been found to be particularly advantageous if the openings are formed in the form of slots, which preferably extend in the circumferential direction. On the one hand, this ensures that the drainage of the washing medium during the rotation of the drum is fast enough, but on the other hand is ensured by the small width of the slot that the components can not pass through the wall of the drum.
Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for the purification of bulk material, in which the bulk material is cleaned in a drum, which is rotated within a tub filled with washing liquid about a substantially horizontal axis. • «* * · * · I« φ * * * φ φ φ φ φ · # ** * * * * * * «» * * * - 5 -
According to the present invention it is provided that during the washing process air is injected under the drum in the tub. It has been found that for solid non-absorbent components, the injection of air during the washing process brings a particularly strong increase in the cleaning effect. According to a further variant of the present invention, it is provided that the drum is rotated intermittently in a single direction of rotation. Usually washing machines for textiles are operated so that the drum constantly changes its direction of rotation. Surprisingly, it has been found that it is much cheaper for the present task to drive the drum intermittently in one and the same direction of rotation. It is particularly favorable if the individual partial rotations make up only about one third of a total rotation and in each case wait a certain time with the drum stationary between the individual partial rotations. This period of time can take several seconds, but also several minutes. During the washing process, the washing water can drip off from the components located above the surface, through which new cleaning medium can come into contact with the components during re-immersion. When drying, it is important that the adhering to the parts of the bulk material water is removed quickly and efficiently, in order to minimize the proportion of water to be evaporated as low as possible. For example, if the bulk material is a building block that very often has a roof-like shape, the intermittent rotation described above will ensure that the majority of the building blocks make at least one revolution about their own axis during one revolution of the drum. so that it is largely ruled out that water accumulates permanently inside the building blocks.
In contrast to laundry, it does not make sense to carry out drying by means of a spinning process in the case of bulk materials such as plastic components. Much more efficient has been a hot air drying with very slowly rotating drum turned out. It can also be bulk material first sprayed with water and then disinfected with hot air. • 4 1 ι I · i t · • * * ****** · h • I * * «* * * * * * * * * * I I f < * * • r t »t * * 4 *. * *« * - 6 -
According to the invention, the method is operated approximately in such a way that a pre-wash with water as a cleaning medium, followed by a main wash with a detergent solution as a cleaning agent, then a Spüiwaschgang with water as a cleaning agent and then a drying step is performed successively. In addition, a disinfection step can be carried out for this purpose. As a result, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. Show it

Fig. 2 shows a detail of Fig. 1 and
Fig. 3 shows a section along line III - III in Fig. 1st
The device of Fig. 1 consists of a trough 1, in which a drum 2 is rotatably arranged. In the operating position, the axis 2a of the drum 2 is horizontal. The tub 1 is part of a housing 3, which is shown here only schematically and the other required components receives, such as water connections, pumps, electronics and the like, which are not shown here for simplicity. A motor 4 drives the drum 2 via a polygonal or a bolt 5 with a thread 7, which engages in a corresponding recess 6 of the drum 2 with an internal thread 14, whereby an axially movable bearing 13 is formed, which is suitable to transmit the torque of the motor 4.
The movable bearing 13 is disposed in a lid 23 of the drum 2, which is removable for removing the contents of the drum 2, when the drum 2 has been removed from the tub 1. Opposite the bottom 24 is provided with the fixed bearing 12. The peripheral surface of the drum 2 is designated 25, wherein a plurality of openings 26 are only indicated.
FIG. 2 shows a detail of FIG. 1. The bolt 5 with the thread 7 is movable in the axial direction in accordance with the double arrow 9 and can not be moved by a bolt. [001]

In the following, the operation of the device according to the invention will be described in more detail.
First, the bulk material to be cleaned, so for example plastic components, filled in a suitable amount in the drum 2 and it is the lid 8 is closed, the drum 2 is then inserted into the trough 1 of the device and the device is put into operation. In a first rinse, the tub 1 is partially flooded with water as a cleaning medium, the drum 2 is intermittently rotated by 120 °. Between the individual rotations, the drum 2 stands still for about one to two minutes. Blade-like projections 19 with concave portions 20 take the contents of the drum 2 with the rotation.
After pumping off the flushing medium, a main wash cycle is carried out in a similar manner, in which a detergent solution is used as the cleaning medium. In further consequence, once again rinsed with water. As a detergent and tabs can be used. During these washing operations, air is simultaneously injected via air distributor 21 below and / or next to the drum 2 via nozzles 22, which ensures a correspondingly improved cleaning effect.
Following the washing process, a drying process takes place in which the drum is again rotated intermittently by about 120 ° or in each case by 360 ° and at the same time hot air is blown in from below.
From Fig. 3 it can be seen that the drum 2 is lifted by opening the lid 8, since straps 10 engage under the drum 2 and lift from its anchorage. One end of the straps 10 are each attached to the lid 8 to allow this functionality. A spring 11 supports the opening movement of the lid, so that the opening and removal of the V · * · νι. * - 8 -
Drum with little effort is possible. The spring 11 may be formed as a steel spring but also as a gas spring.
In the device according to the invention an efficient cleaning of bulk material, such as plastic bricks is possible. However, other bulk goods in the broader sense, such as dolls, pawns or balls can be advantageously cleaned.
