    On the plate 5, a handlebar 11 is mounted, the other end is articulated on the pivot arm 8.
    On the opposite side of the arm 6, the middle arm 12 of a three-piece arm chain is mounted on the axis 7, of which an outer arm 13 is hinged to the plate 4 and the second outer arm 14 on the angular second fastening element 10.
    On the plate 4, a pin 16 is resiliently mounted via a leaf spring 15, which engages in a provided with a chamfer bore 17 in the position according to FIGS. 2 and 4.
    In order to generate no scratch marks through the pin 16 when moving the arm 6, the arm 6 is provided on the displacement path with a slot 18.
    The adjustment of the part 3 '' of the backrest between the positions of Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 and vice versa, is carried out by hündische rotation of the part 3 ''.
    Numerous modifications are possible within the scope of the invention, in particular the invention is not limited to application in a split backrest, but may also be e.g. be applied to a footrest or a pivoting armrest.
